SPENGA is a great work out! I have bad knees/foot issues so I appreciate getting the cardio from cycling that I can do comfortably but still works out my core and legs, then getting guided free weight strength training that you can do at your own weight needs on top of the cardio is great. I never stretch that great after a workout either, so ending with Yoga each time helps me get that stretch focus in before heading home for the day. All the instructors are great as well and challenge you each day in different ways! 20 minutes in each area is also just enough to get a great workout, break a sweat but not feel overwhelmed to keep going and still push yourself at your own speed.

I drove by SPENGA Waukee a few times after moving to the area without really knowing what it was, a really unique fitness studio, and I’m so glad my curiosity finally got the best of me!

I was nervous for my first visit—I hadn’t been in a fitness studio in years after recovering from chronic illness—but the moment I walked in the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They explained the format, and honestly…it really is the best workout ever!

The SPENGA workout is 20 minutes of spin for cardio, 20 minutes of strength/HIIT with your own pod of weights and equipment, 20 minutes of yoga + stretch with yoga mats provided.

I kept thinking, “I can do anything for 20 minutes,” and the fact that it hits all three pillars—endurance, strength, and mobility—while helping regulate my nervous system was mind-blowing. They also tell you it’s “You versus You” and want you to focus on your own progress during the session.

The three instructors (Ashton, Morgan and Patty) I’ve had a pleasure of taking a class with so far have all been really motivating and encouraging. Each workout is customized and different. They have a unique way to track your progress in the spin workout and all the music is awesome - DJ inspired beats. Everything is really clean.

They have a variety of class times! It’s also really easy to book a session in their app. They had a couple different packages and promotions going on which helped me identify what was best for me getting back into making it a priority and routine.

The other members were enthusiastic and supportive, all on their own unique fitness journeys, which made me feel right at home. I even got to meet the owner, Adam, who was clearly passionate about why he opened SPENGA—creating community and inspiring people to move.

After just my first free session, I could tell this studio is so different from anything I’ve ever done. If you’re curious, nervous, or haven’t been in a studio for a while, take the leap and come in for the free session they offer—SPENGA Waukee is truly something special! 💚

Went to the 430 Ride and Rep with Maddie which was great! 20mins of spin and 20 of weights perfect after a day of work. Maddie kept us engaged and motivated throughout! Great quick workout to end the day!

I have been nervous to join a gym and workout due to health issues and my age. I just figured I was the past the point to do these things. Jordon at the front desk was helpful in introducing me to the Spenga program and helping me to be relaxed in knowing that everything I do would be at my own pace and within my own limits. Then I met Maddie who reinforced that it is me doing my own thing and that is okay. When I went to the class Adrianna was so patient in helping me get signed in and fitted on my bicycle. Then Morgan was so amazing in getting me through everything. She gave me alternatives to what was asked of me so that I was able to actually able to complete the workout. I would never have believed that I would be able to do squats or lunges as I have bad knees. Being able to do this excites me beyond belief as I thought that stuff was over life and it's not. Spenga and the wonderful people there are a life changer!!!!

SPENGA delivers the best workout of my life. The blend of cardio, strength training, and yoga is both effective and energizing. I usually find the yoga portion approachable, even as someone who’s not an expert, and the coaches are consistently friendly and go the extra mile to make each session feel personal and motivating.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the management or policies. I recently signed my wife up under the SPENGA Guarantee, which promises that if you attend twice a week for a month and decide it’s not a good fit, you can cancel for a refund. After two weeks, my wife realized the format wasn’t right for her, but we committed to finishing out the month.

This week, we both came down sick and couldn’t attend. I called to explain the situation, hoping for some flexibility, but management wouldn’t make an exception and insisted on charging my wife for another full month. In response, we checked into a class while sick just to meet the guarantee’s attendance requirement, only to be scolded by the manager, who ultimately canceled her membership on the spot.

This mirrored a previous frustration I had when needing to pause my membership during travel and being required to pay to do so, something I found frustrating and a bit inflexible. During that time I also paid for a full month while outside the country.

In short: SPENGA is a top-notch workout with several standout coaches. But the rigidity of the policies and lack of empathy has left a bad taste, and may lead me to cancel my own membership next month.

Tried out Spenga to break up my workout in the winter and spice things up a bit. Morgan was a great instructor and the gym is clean, new, and very well taken care of. Rest of the staff was very nice and welcoming as well. They currently have a new member deal of $28 for the first month of a new member so definitely worth checking out!

They offer a mix of strength, cycling, and yoga in one class and not all classes have all 3 activities.

What a fabulous place! Jacob and team were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I just moved to the area and I’m looking for a gym as well as a new community … THIS IS THE PLACE. Like many, my new year's resolution was to commit to myself and make a change. I was intrigued by SPENGA's format (20 minutes of cycling followed by 20 minutes of strength training and 20 minutes of yoga) but, as someone who has historically not enjoyed cardio, opted to start with a 30-day trial. Following my 30 days, I invested in the unlimited membership and, months later, continue to commit to my nutrition, endurance, and strength. I just hit my 100th class and have been able to avoid burnout thanks to the 20/20/20 format and the environment. In each class, I'm surrounded by individuals of all ages/abilities with instructors that are approachable and informative, remind us to listen to our bodies, and encourage us to make the workout our own.

Hands down the BEST WERKOUT in the Waukee area! I’ve been a member for a little over 12 months and beyond pleased with the results from this format! The combo of spin, strength and yoga is BRILLIANT! I love that I can get my heart rate up, build lean muscle and find my balance all in 60 minutes. The space is clean and inviting &&& the equipment-top of the line! For a one hour full body work out, I love Spenga. The combination of 20 minutes cycling, 20 minutes weights, and 20 minutes of yoga is amazing. I've completed 5 sessions and I'm already seeing results. Weight management, muscle development, and flexibility are my fitness goals and Spenga hits these like no other program I know of. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
The staff and instructors are FANTASTIC, I love the workout--it's the perfect mix of cardio and strength training and I love finishing with yoga, the studio is beautiful and super clean, the equipment is new and well-maintained, there are classes to fit any schedule, and the membership fees are competitive with other clubs.

I LOVE SPENGA Waukee! The coaches are absolutely amazing, the routines are NEVER the same which allows you to level up on your health, skill set and strength to strive for a better YOU! Each person is at a different fitness level and what I love most about SPENGA is that it is key focused to your personal fitness growth, despite your level of fitness the coaches encourage you to push yourself without over exerting yourself based on your body’s needs! I am on session 5, and although I am still considered a newbie I want to live here and hit a class everyday which isn’t difficult with the variety of time slots and ease of scheduling through the app! 10/10 recommend joining, membership is worth every single penny! Jordan, Kayla and Joe are amazing instructors that I have taken classes with, although all instructors are awesome!
