We have had an absolutely incredible experience at The Dance Academy of Cedar Rapids! My daughter has attended this studio for 5 years. We began going here when her original studio closed. She was very hesitant to even go to a trial class and almost wanted to give up dance. After the trial class she and myself were sold on Dance Academy. All the staff is very welcoming and helpful when we have questions. They showed a lot of compassion last spring when my daughter sprained her ankle. Teachers were quick to adjust her role in the dance so she could still be on stage and perform a little bit with her class.

We were completely new to the world of dance when my daughter (youngest of 3 with 2 older brothers) expressed an interest 3 years ago. I recently started adult ballet classes at the Dance Academy of Cedar Rapids without any prior experience. I have found the staff, instructors, and fellow dancers in class to be exceedingly kind and fun to be around. The ballet instructor is patient and clear with me about movements and expectations, which has helped ease me as I learn this new skill. I feel comfortable asking questions for verification whenever the need arises and have noticed fellow dancers having the same ease of experience in class. I find myself excited to return to class each week to learn with everyone. I would recommend this facility to anyone with the itch to learn something new in a fun, nurturing environment.

I specifically came to this studio seeking adult tap and ballet classes.

Elizabeth teaches the adult tap and ballet classes and she is phenomenal! She made me feel welcome on my very first day and had a very warm and inviting attitude. I love that she takes the time to help correct technique when needed and is willing to answer questions.

I’m so grateful to have found this dance studio and their adult level classes! If you are looking for adult level tap, ballet, and jazz classes I would recommend this studio!

We've been to one (trial) class but they were absolutely wonderful and attentive. Came by a couple times throughout the class to ask if I had questions, see how my daughter was doing. They not only gave her the initial trial but invited her to the class that took place right after as well- which she absolutely loved. I had mentioned we did gymnastics and the instructor twnded to ignore my daughter so we had stopped. She has her second class tonight and will update if quality decreases after we signed up last week.

Update: been several classes and they are still absolutely wonderful. Very attentive to all the children. Miss rowan and miss sherry are both so joyful and animated with the little kids

Even with so many children the instructors keep an eye on the children and was able to tell us how great she did and how much she seemed to enjoy the class. Our girls decided after weeks of discussion on a Sunday night (the weekend prior to dance starting) that they did indeed want to do dance classes. I had questions and concerns however with classes starting I jumped into registering the girls to be sure we had a spot. Not only did I get almost immediate communication from the staff (at 8 pm) they worked with me with the million questions we had, changed the enrolled classes and updated our registration per my requests immediately. We had our youngest first class last night and the building is beautiful. The staff is just as amazing as portrayed through text. They answered even more questions, spoke to our girls and us like we were family. I will forever recommend this studio! If you’re thinking about it and nervous or worried. Just do it! They’re amazing and I cannot wait to continue this dance journey with these amazing instructors.
