My wife and I highly recommend Travis Hart as a personal trainer at Genesis Health Club on East Central Avenue, Wichita.

From June through August, 2025, Travis guided us as our personal trainer through weight training exercises specific to our individual goals, ages,  health and experiences.  These exercises significantly contributed to a daily increase in strength and energy.

Travis is an excellent communicator who immediately made us feel comfortable by listening carefully to our questions and concerns.  He frequently encouraged us to explore varieties of exercises and to listen to our bodies.

We are moving out of state soon; Travis will be sorely missed. His knowledge and patience are exceptional.

DO NOT SIGN UP HERE OR ANY GENESIS
This is now day 3 of me trying to cancel my 1 year contract and I’ve gotten nothing but the run around because they want to charge me an extra month.
As per my contract I gave them my 30 day notice to cancel but ofcourse they want to push it out and wait it out.
Absolutely crappy customer service whenever you do want to cancel, a manager told me “we don’t want to leave a bad taste in your mouth about us”, YET they won’t even cancel my contract.
I don’t even want to recommend anybody coming here anymore tbh.
Oh and they will HOUND YOU and not let you leave when you come in just to check out the gym so BEWARE.
All of them are also extremely hot, either their ac never works or they just don’t want to pay the extra electricity bills ? Who knows but be ready to SWEAT at every location.

This gym is a super hidden diamond! I was in town visiting some family and needed a place to workout. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Once you walk into the gym, it’s like walking into another world. Cardio is on the entry level floor, and weights and other amenities downstairs. The retro lighting in each area is a vibe! The equipment is nice & plentiful. It literally had all of the bells and whistles of a major gym. I’d 100% join if I lived in Wichita or if they expanded across the US.

One word, “wow!” This gym is pretty unique and includes two levels, all the amenities you could want including a protein shake bar and a ton of equipment for most people’s goals. It has a unique ambiance and the lighting actually kinda works/ shows features better for posing. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the machines and gym is in pretty good condition. This is a place for everyone, new, bodybuilders/ physique, and even powerlifting. They have a ton of trainers as well to get you started in the right place.

Came in from Dodge City to check out the facility and William was real hospitable and knowledgeable. Showed me around and the type of amenities and equipment the facility had. I’ve enjoyed training in this club, as a guest when traveling through Wichita over the years. This is mine first time to this location, but the experience has been similar - a “10”. The 2-level gym is larger than it appears to be from the outside. At 10am on Tuesday, there were 3 other people in the gym, so I had most of the weights to myself.

The weight floor was clean with disinfectant bottles and cleaning towels. All the weight plates were sorted and organized neatly on each rack (rarely seen these days at any Genesis I go to).

They didn't have a rack of EZ bar weights, but they had straight bar weights and one EZ bar attachment for the cable machines. They have a mix of new and old equipment, but well maintained.

Locker room was clean and spacious. It had a tiny hot tub for 2-3 people and a sauna. Shower curtains.

I signed up almost a year ago and my husband was videoing our sons playing as I spoke with Aron to sign up. You can clearly hear me saying multiple times I did not want a contract. He promised it was not a contract and I was month. However when I tried to cancel they would not let me so I wrote a bad review. The club then called me and sent me an email promising they would charge me only one more month if I took the review down, so I did. I have since been still getting charged every month. Daniel (the club manager) is very passionate about his job, and it shows in every interaction I have with him. The only complaint I have (and it’s not that big of a deal) is that some of the isolated machines I’m used to don’t exist at this club, but they make up for it in every other way possible, and they seem to be updating the club soon anyways. After having a heart attack when there was no reason I should have had a heart attack, my husband dragged me to Genesis to talk with Daniel, trainer and manager. I told him I never wanted to work out on those ugly machines and that when I looked at a place like genesis it was so aesthetically displeasing I could never see myself using those machines. And I said it was just too expensive and I could not justify spending money to go somewhere that didn't have trees and sunshine and green grass. Well he asked me could I really afford not to have a workout regimen? And with someone who knew the ropes and how to train me correctly on the machines. So I reluctantly joined last April. Daniel gave me the best trainer that anybody could ever have, Nick. I have been a teacher all my life and I know a good teacher when I see them and Nick is the best. Within weeks I looked forward to going three times a week and working on those ugly machines. They may still be ugly but the results are not. My goal was not to lose weight, but in less than a year I have lost almost 20 pounds, my cholesterol has lowered my A1C has lowered my blood pressure has become stable and at every checkup my doctor says how good things look for a woman almost 67 who a year ago had a heart attack. And seriously no matter what your income level is, if there is something that you want or need badly enough you can make it happen with careful budgeting. And I recommend to anybody and everybody, especially those of you that are reaching senior to at least at first work with a personal trainer. Working out makes me feel young. It didn't take the wrinkles away, but I just don't notice them anymore. Daniel and Nick are the best. I can speak for my husband and myself that they have changed our life for the better as we go on into the senior portion of Our Lives

My experience at this gym has definitely been 5 star. All the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, from Dan, the Club Manager, and trainers to the service desk and custodial support. There is a "Cheers" atmosphere here where trainers and clients get to know one another and are genuinely interested in providing encouragement and support in meeting health goals through exercise and nutrition. A year ago I decided to work with a trainer and made a three month commitment to an exercise/nutrition program specifically to meet my weight and health goals. With the support of my trainer, Nick, I exceeded my goals and have maintained my weight and exercise routine. I learned how to use the equipment, the free weights and new exercises for targeted areas of the body. I lost 14 pounds. My body composition improved (one size down) and my body mass index normalized. Thank you, Nick, for giving me the tools and support I needed for success. On top of this, there is an open coffee time (Hey, free coffee!) to meet with fellow clients just for fun, and to share life's little and big adventures (including birthday celebrations). Some have been at this Genesis for many years and other are brand new. Come and join us!

Don't sign up with these people they are money hawks. They won't let you cancel your membership unless you catch this specific representative that doesn't roll into work about 10am. Once I did reach him he told me my account would be on hold for 6 months with no charge to give me time to decide if I want to continue. But I'm still being charged monthly for an account to be on hold. Tried reaching said representative about it and they are never there. When going to the South Location there is about 2/3 total employees working in the morning. So much for sanitation or customer satisfaction.Bring back Vasa!

I am disappointed that the equipment that is broken is not fixed in a timely manner, the torso abducter has been broken for a month and now the steam room is broken as well. Please have management correct these oversights immediately.

Sooo. A friend invited me to a power class to do weights on Tuesday I was given a 7day pass. It was awesome! Very extensive but I truly enjoyed the class. Afterwards, Daniel (manger there I think) talked to me super fast and started selling me on getting a membership. He sniffles constantly (like he snorts) which was weird. But i agreed to a membership for 6mos for $52 a month. I find out the next day a relative of mine told me she got a good rate at a different genisis and anyone she signs up can come for $25 monthly. I was aware of the cancelation policy with genisis(3days) but i didnt want to cancel. I called and 1st asked Daniel for the greater good of keeping me as a customer could i have the cheaper rate. He continued to fast talk (and sniffle every 2 seconds) telling me why i couldn't have the rate. I told him, i let you talk the 1st day we met, now I need you to hear me. I didnt want the membership and it only made sense to get the cheaper rate. He told me to come in and cancel and hung up in my face. He calls back 10mins later saying he could get me the rate if I stayed but i felt uncomfortable after the pressure and the way he tried to get mad that i wanted to cancel. I go cancel my membership. I go today (with my 7day pass) to do yoga with my friend and Aaron, a worker calls me out the class and says i have to pay $15 for the class. I asked why my pass was revoked because I didn't sign up. He didnt want to talk and was on the phone with Daniel, I got my things and left. They are relentless at the genisis off Central. I will NEVER step foot in there again.

Everyone was super hospitable. They had clean facilities, a wide variety of equipment, a half basketball court, racket ball court, a hot tub in the men's locker room, and a sauna. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a fitness facility.

Nick is an amazing personal trainer! I have been working with him for a month now and have already gotten amazing results. He keeps me motivated and pushes me to be my absolute best. He is so patient and thorough with me when it comes to understanding the equipment, my form, and which muscles to engage. I can honestly say that my decision to train with Nick was the most impactful health decision I have made in my life. I feel the best I ever have and my confidence is through the roof! If you want to make a drastic change in your mental and physical health, personal training is the way to go and Nick is the guy to get you to your goals!

I am absolutely loving Central location. I believe that I was seriously placed with the best trainer ever. Nick goes out of his way to explain everything to me. I can tell that he truly has a passion for training and helping others and that he isn't just doing what he does for pay, however he does it because that is where his heart is.
Nick is also so very knowledgeable about all muscles and different exercises for different groups.
He goes out of his way to work with my schedule, and even answers text messages about questions that I may have when I am not even at the gym.
I love that this location is laid back, and I can always get on the machine that I am trying to get on.
Super ready to finish my marathon, so that I have more time to train!

I have really enjoyed my experience so far at this location. All of the staff members are super friendly. The equipment is well maintained and the gym is very clean.

I worked out at genesis before Covid signed up with Daniel and Aaron as well as nick depritis as my trainer! The best results I’ve ever had. During Covid I had a terrible experience and they charged me and would not refund me. So with that being said they took care of that!!!! Then also hooked up it! They actually care here! They don’t just sign you up! They take your personal goals and make them there’s. They call and check on you and make sure your going too the gym! They ACTUALLY CARE MAN! If you have had a bad experience remember we have one at a restaurant and go back and it doesn’t happen again! Forgiveness and grace is key and they have a lot of knowledge to not let you down

Never going here again! I filled out a cancellation request form and my last payment was suppose to be April 15th. They told me it’s best not to pay the buy out fee bc it might still charge me the next month. I didn’t pay it and now they are telling me I can’t cancel because I didn’t pay the buy out fee. Genesis is the worst gym membership you can get

I've been a member of Genesis for over 17 years. I would like to commend the Manager (Daniel) on his professional approach in running the club. I go to Genesis every day I like it, it's not crowed in the mornings. And the people are nice. Their trainers are good at what they do. It is a little pricey but I wanted to invest in my health and well-being.

Great community feel at this gym! Lots of people talking to one another, glad to see one another and sharing coffee by the front desk. Corrie at the front desk is maybe the hardest working human being west of the Mississippi! Daniel and the rest of the crew does a great job of making sure everything is going smoothly for any member that comes in. A nice, small, quiet and friendly gym.

Okay I gave them a shot for 6months. They did nothing but talk about free this free that no one ever showed us how to use equipment. They are in their office making phone calls. Like to ppl like me who already have a membership. They literally want YOU MONEY. Since getting rid of Emilio (milli) and Gordon, this place is a ego tripping gum that will not help you! They just want ur money! They are not better they jus use fancy words and pictures to get u signed up and then they take ur money an if you don’t like it they take everything u signed up for in the contract. If u want out they will charge u the full amount of the month. This place is all money! And once they have your number they don’t leave you alone! Don’t do it! The Y or planet fitness also VASA!!
