I have had a positive experience with the male managers here they all made me feel listened to, I am from out of town, Hutchinson, and I need a studio where I can practice my professional workout training I consider myself PROfessional even though I don't have any traditional certifications or personal training license. I even taught my own first nontraditional class at Wichita Genesis and made a first female friend to join my fitness fraternity and it hasn't even been a week yet. I am very naturally sisterly outgoing and kind to other girls so it was not hard to find females to do fitness with, I am trying to create my a female fitness friends faternity. I consider myself professional because I graduated military bootcamp (was a target of envy by female drill seargents so I didn't made it through AIT, lied about me etc so I'm starting to relive some mean spirited he aior and it's making me upset. ), I was a cheerleader, Football drill team dancer and was in track in highschool too so I have a wealth of fitness knowledge that I have refined into years of practice, mixing all various body movements into a workout choreography mixing all styles of body movements. I am a target of envy and mean spirited behavior here at the Hutchinson Gym, I resorted to driving far so I can workout I'm a Peaceful fitness space, I have worked out once here at Goddard, the male managers all made me feel safe. There is no gauking. Staring , pacing back and forth the fitness studio to create intimidation for me at this gym at all. But I did called today to get advice on how I should stop this behavior at the Hutchinson Genisis Health Club, I just can't afford to drive back and forth all the time. The female manager answered, and was mean to me when I was trying to explain the kind of harrassment I am targeted with at Genisis Hutchinson. She interrupted me several times. Didn't listened to me ( I explained to her that a male man my dad or grandpa age, walked into the studio when I was in the far corner by myself, he walked towards me all while staring at me, he was really close past 6 feet distance, looked and gauked at me and then walked away and left , after telling the female manager this she , instead of giving me advice on what I should do to create comfortable peaceful fitness environment she went on and on defending the guy saying that he didn't approached me, when I just told her he was walking towards me. She didn't listened to me , I told her the man walked towards me and then she said he didn't approached me, it was as if she wanted me to feel unheard, just to be mean. I am sorry I don't have any formal gym training or gym certifications but I have a lifetime wealth knowledge of fitness, I'm very sorry if I attract envy and hate but it just getting really old. I'm assuming she's friends cliquey friends with the general manager at Hutchinson Genisis here too but just because they are fitness managers doesn't mean I'm below them or deserving to have my complaints ignored and dismissed.

We just visited to get a feel for the location. Every staff member greeted us or offered to help us. We had there different conversations with the front desk and they made sure we had all of our questions answered. The entire place is exceptionally clean and the pools look amazing. Me and my boyfriend went here just this past weekend to get in a quick workout. We called prior to see about a day pass and they told us that was an option and to come in and they’d get us set up for a day pass NOT a membership. We got there and they spent OVER an hour talking about different membership plans and trying to pressure us into a membership when we made it very clear over the phone we did not want a membership. Then they proceeded to take my drivers license and say “they were going to hold on to it until after our workout in case we decide we wanted a membership”. After our workout they took both of us into the office and judged us for not wanting a membership and will not stop calling and harassing us about one. This place is extremely rude, judgmental, and unprofessional. They advertise not having a contract when u sign up but there is and they scam you out of money. This place will no longer be getting my business.

I met with Clint a qualified fitness trainer, at the Goddard, Ks location. I felt heard when I expressed my health issues and fitness concerns and was shown some of my best options for beginning my recovery process. I was pleased with the process of joining. No stress or pressure. Given the month to month option or longer term it was clearly up to me and what would fit my needs. The entire staff was friendly and willing to help. one of the worst service places i have ever encountered. they hired a manager who is really bad and a scammer. so i canceled the contract, but he agreed to let us cancel the contract. but they still took the money from our bank. and we went to the place to tell them and they refused to give it back. they told me they agreed, but they didn't give us the papers to sign. that's one of the manager's scams. so they keep taking money until i am find out. They was took my money 3 moths, and then i went to the place to tell them and then they let me sign the contract suspension papers but didn't refund my money . my friends also fell for the same trick. this is a scam place. be careful when you cancel, you have to ask them to sign the papers. otherwise they just say yes,

I had a really bad experience with this branch! The staff is really unprofessional and rude, they don’t listen to the customer! When I came here for the first time to get info the girl (staff) who was guiding me looked high and wasn’t responding really clearly, when I asked her if I need to cancel my membership when do I need to give the notice and she told me that I should give it before 4-5 days! When I came here to cancel it they told me that I should’ve told them a month ago!! When I told them to bring in the lady who guided me, they told me that she doesn’t work here anymore and then told me she moved. They were telling me a complete different thing about the girl every time which showed they were lying. And when I complained about the lady being high they started being rude and told me I was stating a false statement! I respect the rules and regulations but why isn’t the staff informed with the rules and misguiding me! I have other clubs I go to but in this club my experience was really bad!

Cheap and outdated equipment. Some of the equipment upstairs has the original iPod plug hook up. Paying a premium price for a not so premium facility. If you're new to the gyms you may not notice but if you've been to a variety of gyms you will quickly understand the equipment is cheap.

I love everything about this location. The only caveat is the steam rooms. I work out at 5am and the steam room is most likely NOT working. It seems the managers can get it running but that's not until they show up at 8 or 9. I feel sorry for the front desk employees because they catch hell for it not working and they don't have the power to fix it.

I can't be more direct but who can enjoy baseball when you can't even have a conversation with the person next to you? The music is disgusting and deafening. It is a horrible experience to be here. Not everyone likes ,"rap". You've ruined an Excellent Facility with your loud speaker. What happened to "baseball themed music?". When the music finally stopped blaring, I said "thank you?". The other parents in the stand said "no. Thank you." Change it!

-Would love to see some outdoor soccer fields at this location.

I have had my Genesis membership for almost a year now. I toured the gym while it was still under construction, and although it looked appealing, I had a lot of reservation in making the commitment but I am so glad I did. We are 10 months into our membership and although the equipment and amenities have been so nice to use, it is not what has kept us coming. Every single staff member has continued to treat us with the same respect and care they did when first trying to earn our business. The front desk staff are always so kind. Logan & Dylan have always carried a smile, being willing to help any chance I need. I have also had the pleasure of receiving personal training services from Amanda who has changed my outlook on my health & dedication to my goals. I would 10/10 recommend Goddard Genesis to anyone, including those with children as the daycare is fantastic!

Staff is always friendly and remembers my name in the morning. There is a vast array of equipment and lots of different things to do. The couple of issues I do have, are quite frustrating. Half of the machines with TV's are still either not working, pixelated, or unable to change the channels. The child care took forever to open when they had initially said late Dec, early Jan. The only reason we got a family membership was to allow all of us to workout while the kids were in daycare. It was 2 months late opening for childcare. The other frustrating part was the constant push back of the Blast off Bay opening. Then when it did open, it's only on the weekends where you still have to pay more, even as a member. We have been paying for 5 members and basically only one was able to use the gym.

I went in to cancel on December 1st .. Dylan tried everything to keep me from canceling. When I wouldn't give in he told me that I would still have to pay for January because I didn't come in a day earlier( nov 30th! ) What a crock! Here it is January 10th they still didn't cancel my membership and they are saying they won't cancel until I pay...I don't freaking think so. These people are unbelievable!! Don't do it people!!

I’ve been to every YMCA and Genesis in the surrounding area. This gym has the best machines, and is never busy. The hours are decent but short on weekends. Compared to fighting teenagers at the NW Y for a bench this gym is an absolute dream.

The Stevens must be bleeding cash on this just paying the electric bill because not once have I seen it remotely busy. Maybe summer of 23 when the water park opens it’ll wake up.

After being excited about signing up for a membership and telling my friends, I found out that I am paying significantly more for my membership than everyone else I know who is a member (about twice as much as everyone else). Also, the day I signed up and had to pay sign up fees, I recieve an email saying I could sign up today and pay no sign up fees.

I was watching one of the Personal Trainers have one of the Memebers doing an exercise that was basically a push up but with his hands on barbells stood up on end, it looked like the kid was going to fall on his face and brek his nose. The hours at some of the locations are really poor (Rock Road). If you are interested in the classes, most are at a time when you will probably be at work (most classes are within 9AM to 6PM). Some of the classes are at the same time on the same days at different locations, so don't think you will be able to go to that particular class you like several times a week by just going to different locations on different nights. Some of the machines are in poor condition. West 13th has a bunch of missing tiles in the men's steam room that could cut you if you didn't see them (and it smells gross). In the men's shower area at West 13th some of the granite dividers have come unglued from the wall and present a safety hazard. Also they don't have very many sanitizer bottles around, so people don't really wipe down the machine when they are done and I don't see the employees cleaning them either.

Take this review with axgrain of salt as many of the facilities on campus, yes this is a whole complex of different things, is still under construction and not open yet. The facility are really nice, the equipment is brand new and everything is laid out well. They have plenty of machines and equipment for even the busiest gym. My only complaint is that they may have tried to fit too many pieces of equipment in one space as, especially the cardio area, seems a bit crowded. The staff seem very nice and the facility is very kid friendly. It definitely will not be just a gym, this place will be a local hangout to get out of the heat or cold on a slow weekend or summer break for families.
