Genesis Health Club is so much better now in 2024! I have made more progress in two months with current Personal Trainer, Nick, than in 2 previous years of working out. The staff is friendly, facility is clean, showers are strong. But the best is that my PT is helping me, a senior with arthritis, past injuries, and obesity, be able to move better (knees & shoulders & hips) and to develop muscle definition. ☆☆☆☆☆

Super excited to get started on my "back to healthy" journey. Disclaimer I am not yet a regular attender, and will update this review once I've got some time with them under my belt.

Are they determined to get you in the door and signed up? Absolutely, that's what they do! BUT the personal touches really got me excited, not pressured, to be here. Chandler was kind, attentive and open to all of my questions and specific circumstances, and shows a genuine interest in helping those with little or no recent gym experience get started on the right track. Hands down one of the most comfortable customer service experiences you could go hope for in this environment.

The equipment all seems to be well maintained and clean, and the facilities are comfortable and welcoming. As a person struggling with obesity I did not feel judged or put off by any of the staff, nor other gym-goers: like I will be respected simply for being there wanting to take better care of myself.

I'm excited for the group classes, and availability of a personal trainer to help get me off on the right foot.

The membership contract is clear and transparent, with no "hidden" catches that I've found this far.

Stay away for your own good. First of all, you'll never get out of your contract. They'll charge you more than what the contract is worth, so you'll just have to pay it out. This gym organization is ridiculous. And Taylor will do nothing but pressure you into signing a contract before you can do anything there. He's on you, pressuring and pressuring until you sign. He's rude and won't let you really get a feel for the place until AFTER you sign. Stay away from this specific Genesis and from ALL Genesis gyms. Save your money and find a different place to workout.

The front desk are very polite and kind. The new manager is very positive and likes to see who is coming every day . The personal training staff is amazing and is doing a great job. Temri is one of the best trainers I have ever had. She understand the female body better than the others. Maybe because she is a woman too . She pushes you to your limits and then passed them. I absolutely love this Gym! They have the friendliest staff, up to date and very clean equipment, dance studio, steam room, and to top that off they even have a smoothie bar with very delicious selections. I've never had to worry about it being too packed as it's a very good size gym with several sets of dumbells and a wide variety of equipment. The manager Nick makes me feel very welcome when I go in and I really couldn't ask for anything more from this Gym.

Someone recommended going to Genesis so I googled it and saw photos of young VERY fit people on their website. I'm old, obese, and sedentary and I was intimidated.  Went to see Genesis for myself and found out these young fit people are all so friendly!  My second time in and ever since, I've been greeted by name (just like Norm at Cheers 😎).Truly feel I  belong there.

I personally train with Joel a couple of times a week, been going to him for about a month and a half. He works me hard, which is what I want and what I was looking for. In just the time that I have been going to Joel, I am continually seeing my fat percentage drop and I have definitely seen a lot of definition. I know that diet makes a difference too, but so does Joel! I definitely appreciate him, his time and his knowledge. He is definitely worth the money that I am paying him imo.

I have been in this gym for almost 2 years and I want to start with that it's a very well maintained facility. The place is great very clean equipment well maintained. Environment is great, Staff is great.. Training classes is great and effective the coaches focus on each member for the correct method of performing those exercises and help them get their physical stamina and fitness back.. Stopped into McPherson for the weekend and worked out at Genesis. It is an excellent, clean facility with plenty of equipment. The locker rooms were clean and well kept. I worked out there for about 2 weeks three years ago for work in town and THEY WILL NOT STOP CALLING ME TO COME BACK. I get at least one call every other month. I have told them to take me off the call list several several times. It’s annoying and unless you plan on working out there permanently. Don’t sign up or give any contact info. They won’t leave you alone no matter how many times you tell them to.

Oof I have never taken the time to write a poor review but I feel like this place has absolutely robbed me. When I first got my membership I was promised free shakes every month but then the lady who was in charge of that left the location and it was not honored. Then I tried to cancel my gym membership throughout Covid and was unable to, no one was there to answer the phones. I tried to send a letter but it must have been “lost in the mail”. I ended up calling and got the email wrong so that could have been my fault however I was not informed that you have to give a 30 days notice to cancel. This would have been nice to know because I was not aware another payment would come out of my account. I know many of my friends have had problems with canceling and too many payments being taken out. I don’t think Genesis does anything illegal or outside of their contacts they are just very sneaky, shady salespeople who do not have their customer’s best interest in mind.

Was suppose to be on a 1 year contract they put me on for 3 when calling in to cancel after the 3 years was told that my contract would just expire.. it doesnt you get rolled onto a mo th to month which would of been fine, if the rep told me about it. They didnt and was billed 2 more month.. I would never reccomend this gym at all nor any genisis. They even told me the manager was fired because of lying to customers.. scum bags.. all of the.

I am not from here but I arrived for business. I looked up a quick Google search for gyms and saw the pictures of this place. From the photos and description it seemed like they had the most to offer and the nicest facility. I was completely puzzled by why their review were so horrible with so much to offer. I downed my favorite pre-workout and I was off to get my daily pump to see what all the fuss was about. When I arrived I was greeted by friendly and professional staff. I was able to buy a visitors pass for the day. Lockers and towels were offered for free. Locker room was in immaculate condition. All equipment was functional and clean. The classes being conducted (that I did not attend) seemed LIT and very enjoyable without being intimidated (we all know that one spin instructor lol). While working out I was greeted by the district manager. I inquired about the bad reviews and expressed to her that they did not reflect my experience. She was very apologetic and told me that they had problems with previous management. Long story short all the bad eggs are now GONE! If you are looking for a new gym or have previously had a unfavorable experience I would advise you to reconsider and try coming again. Thanks to the whole crew here at the gym for making my time well spent. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is amazing. The people here treat you with respect, The local people are really respectful. The general manager Guy Ridpath is really respectful an he was such of good help. if you ever in town hit this place up an talk to Guy.

Genesis and the manager are crooks DO NOT sign a membership.....i am working shutdown asked for my account to be frozen they are still withdrawing money monthly.........i have asked to stop and to refund the money withdrawn and i get the run around....i can only liken it to a sleazy used car salesmen

I travel alot for work and have been to gyms across the country and I am quite impressed with Genesis/McPherson gym. It's very clean with lots of different types of equipment and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this establishment.
