It is a great facility with top notch tennis courts. All the tennis coaches especially Eva and Zach are phenomenal. I enrolled in a play tennis fast course a few years ago and learned how to hold a racket and the basics of the game from tennis pros. Since then my love for the game has only grown. I went from watching tennis to actually playing it thanks to Coach Zach and Eva. I have since then introduced my husband to it too. We enjoy playing tennis at genesis.

We love the whole team at Genesis Tennis - we have worked with every tennis pro during drills, private lessons and kids training activities - they are like family to us! Definitely the best tennis coaching in Wichita, hands down. All the coaches love to see their kids improve and grow, and it always shows in their hard work to make great programming. My son has been taking lessons and playing with the Junior tennis department for the past 3 years. He has had tremendous growth in his game and he has enjoyed the youth tennis community that plays together at this location. Eva Castiglioni does a great job running the department and creating wonderful and fun opportunities for young tennis players to grow their game. My son has been taking private lessons from Kaey Den Tan. He says that Kaey Den not only helps improve his strokes and footwork but he helps with his mental game and just being an all around better person. We are so glad we found this facility to inspire our son’s goal of playing tennis at a higher level.

Probably the worst customer service there is, especially the tennis side. The tennis desk is ran by teenagers with no manners. We have a membership at the gym and for how much the membership cost and indoor tennis courts are not included is insane. We’ve been playing indoor for the past 2 years and was never told about a fee so we assumed it’s included in the membership but suddenly they started charging. Did not notify how rates works BEFORE giving us the court but told us AFTER we were done playing.

I was a member here for about a year and a half and trained with Ben, who is excellent—very knowledgeable and helped me recover after major surgery. The gym is clean and mostly well-kept.

My issue is with the membership policies. When I came in to cancel, I was talked into freezing instead. I later discovered hidden fees (around $70 total) for an annual membership charge plus freeze fees. These were never explained to me verbally, and I only noticed after being billed. When I asked for a refund of the annual fee I was told they have a no refund policy.

On top of that, I wasn’t able to pay only for personal training sessions; I was required to keep paying full monthly gym dues even when I wasn’t using the gym outside of training.

I want to caution anyone considering freezing their membership: ask very clearly about all fees in writing. Had I been told upfront, I would have cancelled instead.

Gym equipment is okay, but the Weight session upstairs is frequent lingered with kitchen cooking exhaustion, the AC is barely working with the humidity it gets stagnant.

It needs to be maintained at a workable temp in summer. It’s unbearable you will end up being too overheated to want to come in for a workout, don’t waste your money

Wish Rodney cared as much about acquired locations as he cares about this one. Ward Parkway location in Kansas City has a room full of spin bikes that don't work. Multiple members have reported this to management multiple times and no one does anything about it. Wish someone would take responsibility and fix the problem. It's frustrating to pay a monthly membership to a place with equipment that doesn't work. Invest back in ALL your clubs and show members you actually care.

Love this gym!! It has everything you need and coming from Northern Cali the gyms out there have no AC and no ammenities for $100 a month total ripoff!! This place reminds me of the old Ballies US swim and fitness. The employees are awesome!! The only thing I can complain about is the hours they open at 7 am on the weekends and close at 6. An overzealous but poorly trained personal trainer approached me as I was walking to the recumbent bikes and told me I was walking the wrong way. He said the directions changed alternating days. We do that so you won’t over use your hip. I just turned around and went the longer way around to the bikes. Here is my concern. Your trainer never inquired on whether i was walking the track or simply using it to get to a specific place I. The gym. As a disabled person who engages in fitness. It is best to take the route shortest to get to the exercises indicated for you. The problem with your staff is his over surveillance doesn’t take that into consideration. Then he tried to get my attention as he showed me proof of the tracks direction. It was over kill , inappropriately done and not considerate of the other personal accommodation -I had a right to take. Now this feedback will poss him off
because he didn’t like that I wanted no further conversation after his over surveillance and lack of consideration. He believed I must listen to him. Although I thought what he did was without proper forethought. I do not believe Black men should be under any different scrutiny than any other race and if Genesis does - kindly refund all my costs and I happily find another venue for fitness. By the way not twenty minutes later three people walked the opposite way on THAT track while that trainer was training and he said nothing. And yes I watched- not okay. Let me recount my complaint- your trainer never asked if I were excercising - he assumed I was taking laps. I was taking the quickest route to the recumbent bikes. It was an unnecessary, unprofessional attempt to control a member of color improperly surveilled for the wrong reasons and yes it was offensive.

A lot of equipment in this space but highly chaotic. This place was obviously some huge office building renovated into a gym and expanded upon. The feng shui is horribly off and there is just too much equipment stuffed into this one building. They definitely need a professional interior gym designer. There is a mix of new equipment and old equipment that seems like it was bought wholesale out of a 50 year old gym. There is high congestion and too many different brands of machines. The upstairs is a mirror maze. It almost seems like this place was put together by a gym meathead who is also a hoarder. A great example of less is more. Maybe sell off some of the outdated equipment and put in new stuff. The ceilings are too low in spots, the spaces are stuffy, musty, and the HVAC system could use an upgrade or put in more fans. Props to them making use of the conditions they had. This is by no means a bad gym. The people and workers are great and they have some neat amenities and are continuing to renovate and expand. I'd still recommend it to others. This review is for constructive criticism purposes.

This is an update to my previous review. The new manager is expanding this Club to twice its size, with hydromassage chairs, and expanded rooms and equipment. Moreover, he responds to requests, seems to have long work hours and has changed the club with his quick response to questions and concerns and his positive and congenial management. I can say that he always has a smile. It really makes a difference!! The changes are moving along and I'm very pleased.

I have been a member of Genesis in Manhattan, Kansas and now at Rock Road Genesis in Wichita, Kansas. I have found the staff to be courteous and helpful. I enjoy the classes and the instructors always ask about any conditions that may affect participation and offer alternatives. This should be done, but is not all that common in other clubs. Most recently, I had an issue and asked the RR Manager for assistance. He was wonderful! The matter was taken care of immediately. He solved the problem and now it is much easier for me to take classes! I am very grateful for his concern and assistance. In addition, the gym is kept clean and people, as a rule, wipe off equipment so that I do not have to worry about COVID at this club. Markers are on the floor for social distancing. All in all, I have had a great experience at this club!!!

Genesis here on Rock Road has a super above and beyond staff. Everyone is friendly, smiling, knows you by name after just a couple of weeks (which is impressive), engaging, fun and motivating. The gym is well designed and organized. The equipment is functional and unique. Although it doesn't have all the possible features it still has plentiful enough to get a great workout in. At this time, the facility is undergoing certain remodeling and upgrades which I am very excited to see as this gym has had the same layout for years. Out of all the Genesis in the Wichita area, this is one is by far my favorite for the staff and steam room. The steam room is a wonderful way to relax. The locker rooms are clean and have lockers that lock without having to bring your own lock which is a bonus in my opinion. This is a family and children friendly environment. The sales reps for this gym are literal scam artists. I came in town looking for a short term gym membership and came to this location because I didn’t know of any other ones existed. I was basically talked into paying around $150 to workout there for 6 weeks. Come to find out today at a different location that I could have paid $24 to workout at one spot (which is a way better location btw), but that was never explained as an option by the sales reps at Rock Road.

Horrible customer service, and really skeezy business dealings. I’d ask for a refund since I never even ended up using this location, but I know they’d just hide behind contract lingo. Go literally anywhere else besides this location if you want honest sales people.

The instructors for early morning classes are great. Other than that it has been a real mess recently. Most mornings when the doors are to open at 5 am, no one is there. Some of the staff that do show up don't speak to you and act mad that they had to open the door, specifically the north door. Then they get on their phones and pay no attention to anyone (north door again). Secondly, the outdoor pool has been closed for weeks due to "maintenance" and then no staff to work. Funny how other pools can find staff. I have been a member at the Rock Road club for 28 years, and this is the worst it has been. If Opti-Life is taken over from another company that can figure things out Genesis should be concerned that their long time members may just make a move. But again, I don't think the owner really cares.

I have jointed this health club 6 years ago and really enjoy working out here almost every day since then. The facility is very clean and well maintenance with plenty of work out equipments and a variety of exercise classes to suit every member needs. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful that make me feel welcome and feel right at home. Two thumbs up for this health club.

The facility is clean, equipment well maintained. The locker room is spacious, good lighting, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and willing to help. My experience in the health club is always positive.

Also, the new manager, Nick, is very helpful and responsive in expediting the resolution of a refund issue that had been hung up the the accounting and managing system for a couple months. Thank you.

Nice clean facility. Very diligent working staff, very accommodating and useful equipment. Had a very good experience with jullian. Great environment to get into top physical shape and condition. Bout everything you could think of or need to accommodate your health and fitness goals. Very knowledgeable staff with lots of personal trainer experience. My favorite staff and trainer is jullian. He is very goal oriented. And extremely dedicated to helping his clients reach and exceed all of their personal goals. He has shown great leadership capabilities at both sites he's worked at and I'm proud to say that I've had a great opportunity to work with him and learn from him. He is very helpful and experienced at sales and replicating personal fitness and health education as well as a very strongly driven gentleman heading for a successful career. Extremely impressive gym. They make all kinds of food like grilled quesadillas, shrimp, chicken bacon ranch. They have all the strength training and cardio equipment you can imagine. There is a rock climbing wall, tennis courts, swimming pool, and huge basketball court.

So, I recently just got a membership here and let me tell you.. Brooklyn, who I believe is the assistant manager seriously needs a raise. Had it not been for her enthusiastic, cheerful, and so personable personality, I probably wouldn’t have left my other gym for these guys. They have a variety of equipment to use and many other perks that come with my membership! I don’t want to spoil it, but if you don’t have one with genesis yet, you’re definitely missing out. To Brooklyn, thank you for being such an amazing person and hooking me up!!!

Came here using a one week pass since I am from out of town. Jim is very clean, has all the equipment I need, and all the staff and members are very friendly. I will be sure to come here during my next visit, I feel that this is the best value you can get and is a fantastic place to train!

This place is a joke plus they lie about all the prices and make it sound like this place is better then anywhere else. The girl at the tennis counter is stuck up and very rude and was in her phone while I was asking questions and Jim Johnston is good about avoiding you and is very disrespectful

Place is nice. The pool is disgusting. It has caked on dirt on the bottom, oily substance on the top and very cloudy water. Visiting from another state. Some TLC on the pool is highly recommended.
