Equipment is great. They only have one squat rack and one smith machine other than that everything else is included. The membership is quite overpriced. But the absolute worst part of it was the management and trying to cancel. I was in Salina on military orders for just 2 weeks so me and my buddy try to get a membership. First day we went one of the staff told us no we can’t give you a free trial that’s only for locals. So whatever we pay 20$ for one day and plan not to come back. Staff calls great guy he try’s to cut us a deal and apologizes for the first guy. He was pro military and his boss too. But then when we try to cancel before the next cycle the Head management guy(I assume) bald, tattoos on his arm, about 230 pounds, meets us at the table and says okay I’ll take care of you give me your name and number and that’s it. We thought that was weird so I go back to the great guy that helped us out and even his face said it all when I asked if it was canceled , it was not. He canceled our membership for us and that was that luckily. Do not trust the management. At least not the main guy. It is very shady thing to do to try and scam military members especially when we are leaving the state in 2 weeks. There was going to be almost no way to cancel and pay out of the town.

Summary: it is very difficult to cancel membership and they will avoid it if they can to overcharge you more.

Update: Thank you for the reply from health club but considering multiple members have had the same issue before AND after me it seems like you guys could careless I’m just hoping nobody follows in pursuit and gets blindsided like I. Make sure to document everything guys

Truly a wonderful club with great leadership. This club has a modern industrial theme with some of the best workout equipment on the market. Manager, Chris, leads by example and his team works hard to ensure you have a great experience. Members are friendly and patient with my boys. My least favorite gym of all time. They are very overpriced to nearly 70$ a month for mediocre equipment. Staff and marketers from this gym call you frequently pushing their sales on you after repeated many repeated NO’s. Carman is always helpful and has something nice to say when I check in.Tyler signed us up 3 years ago and is always helpful. Joe has been my personal trainer for the last 3 years. I’ve been a faithful member for around 10 years. I lived close so convenient. My company will also reimburse cost of membership. When pandemic hit, with pressure from family I decided to stop going but continued to be a member and continued to pay the membership with the hopes that covid will end. After about almost a year I decided it was not worth the $40 cost to continue to go. I went in and talked to the manager about canceling membership. He asked me if I wanted to suspend or cancel. Suspending account sounded great to me so that’s what I did. He did not share with me at that time it would still be an additional fee. Now why would I want to pay a fee for something I wasn’t using? Makes no sense right? First fee hit my account and I just figured partial month payment. It hit the next month so I contacted manager to ask why. That’s when he told me about the fee. He apologized that I was not informed and said he could not refund the first fee but could do the second. I was fine with that. I waited for over a week for refund that never came. Now I’m done. I went in and on same day joined Planet Fitness and canceled Genesis. I canceled in may. In June I got my first partial payment. I told my wife that I’ll bet money next month they will pull another partial fee. Sure enough, it happened today. What makes things even worse is I’m in a process of switching bank accounts so I’m waiting for all of my last charges to clear so I can close account. Do I wait to see if they refund $30 that I feel like I’ve been wrongly charged. I’m supposed to get a return call but it’s already been 45 minutes. I’m going to add that equipment at planet fitness is in better shape. The employees at planet fitness are constantly cleaning that I wonder if they ever stop. For a fraction of the price I feel like I should have switched years ago.

The Genesis Health Club facility in Salina has some of the best fitness classes!
All of the instructors seem to truly enjoy their work and they give their all. This is clearly demonstrated when you observe their practice and training for the next release of classes. Rigorous exercise, seemingly without stopping for much of a break, but always with a smile on their faces shows their devotion.
The enthusiasm and encouragement shown is unmatched in other fitness centers I have been to. Believe it or not this can actually make exercising FUN!!
Fight, Centergy, and Power are some of my favorites to attend.
I highly recommend trying them out!

I was in Salina for a wedding and chose Genesis for my workout because I was told it has squat racks! The young gal at the front desk was very rude, all she cared about was getting the $15.00 from me for a day pass! $ 15.00 to workout one time! I thought the price was extremely high! No one asked to show me around or if they could help. I walked around from room to room to find the equipment I needed! Only found one squat rack which was a totally different style than I am used to! I was lucky no one was using it! The facility was very warm but seemed clean! The gentleman at the front desk when I left told me to have a nice day! Do not plan on going back should I find myself needing to workout in Salina!

I have now been a member of the Salina Genesis Health Club for one year. My personal trainer, Alison, is dedicated and inspiring. I respect her expertise. She stays current with health and nutrition programs and designed a personal training program that has helped me improve my overall health and fitness.

I participate in group fight, groove, and cynergy. The instructors are excellent. They are all energetic and motivating. They make the classes fun! In one year I have improved my endurance, flexibility, and strength. I appreciate the instructors and friendly, helpful staff of the Salina Genesis Health Club!

I’ve been a member for three years and I’m a fan! The front desk staff is very friendly....especially Kurtis! The Tennis pros are the best, and have been very patient with me as a beginner. There are group fitness classes with enthusiastic trainers to keep you motivated. The only drawback is the amount of time for repairs on equipment. I know their shake machine has been out of order for two or three weeks now, and seriously can’t they buy one quickly? It seems like for all the money we spend ... a new shake maker and repairs on weight machines should happen quicker. That’s my only negative. You won’t regret your time there !

I have asked this Genesis to get bigger Towles the towles they have are small and old with stains on them.

They put Ducktape on the torn vinyl on the equipment, instead of replacing the torn vinyl.

I told one of the Trainers about a peace of rubber tubing trash that was laying on the ground. Then the trainer just kicked it by a peace of equipment and said he would get it later. One week later I was working out by the same equipment I seen the trash a week earlier and sure enough the trash was still there.

They are all about getting your money but not all about spending it on upkeep of the facility .

My two favorite classes are Kate's "fit life" class and Cindy's "power lift" classes. Those two instructors are the best!!! Chris Canon is also a huge plus for the club. He does such a fabulous job. I would love to see him as our permanent manager!! Wish you would make that change!!! Even though I have never had a personal trainer I see several that do a great job for their clinics. Genesis has phenomenal group exercise classes and instructors. My favorite classes are Yoga, Group Fight (cardio/martial arts), Centergy (yoga/Pilates), and Yin Yoga (slow-paced yoga/meditation)! Genesis feels very clean, modern, and friendly. I don't use the machines/equipment as much any more, but they have variety. Genesis has yummy smoothies and protein shakes that they make in house!

Same issue I've seen and heard before. Girlfriend went in was told a certain rate monthly and wasn't told it was a year contract. In my line of work we normally have to tell people what they are signing up for. We were originally told we were getting a discounted rate from my employer for couples, some kind of VIP pass for a limited time. After finally seeing what she signed we spent two months with Kelsey trying to get it cancelled or at least fixed and she dodged our calls. Finally got ahold of us and said it was taken care of. A month later we get another fee taken out of our account and we tried contacting her with no luck. Had to block charges and then we finally got a call telling us nothing had changed and we needed to make a payment. We told the person on the phone Kelsey had taken care of it and they had no info on this. So we left the block on and tried once again to correct it with no avail. So now we are getting our first letter telling us we owe $1000 for something we got two months out of and we're lied to over and over again about a contract and Kelsey taking care of it. Apparently no one here knows how to reset the internet wifi router. You can't stream music or workout videos. It's been over 2 months since I first brought it to their attention and not even management cared enough to look into it. I offered to reset router for it but there was just a confused look.

Very poor staffing. Will sign you into a contract when you said specifically you didn't have time for a contract. Then you get a 1200.00 bill for a contract you never signed.

Good gym. Attended the gym for 2 weeks or so while travelling for business. Wished the prices for the temporary passes were displayed somewhere (got two different prices for two different occasions/visits).

Huge parking, semi and trailer friendly, this place is how a gym should be, if I lived here I don't care how much it cost this would be my gym, downsides I would like to see personal shower rooms rather than curtains, nice nice lockers rooms, I would also like to see some powerlifting equipment, so I could do power clean, but god do they have everything, and I mean everything
