This YMCA needs to evaluate how β€œfamily friendly” they are. Their kid zone stops taking kids over 7, so obviously that means your kid has to tag along with you for your workout. I dropped my younger kids off and brought my 8 year old upstairs with me, barely made it to the top of the stairs without staff asking me to remove my headphones just to tell me that my daughter couldn’t be up there. Once I told them she was 8, they told me to keep her within arms reach and I went on my merry way (She is small for her age). I went to the free weights section so that we could be more out of the way of the treadmills/machines/etc. MIND YOU it is Sunday at 1pm so there was plenty of open space and not busy by any means. Not 10 mins into my workout the same worker came and told me that my daughter needed to stay away from the equipment because she could get hurt. I get it’s a safety thing but if that’s the case then why does the kid zone cutoff at 7 years old??? You can’t have it both ways. I’ve been a patron of the Y for over 10 years and thinking about cancelling our membership. We pay too much for a family membership with kid zone access, to be treated this way and still not be able to access the resources. Genesis goes up to age 12 and most YMCAs throughout the US have an age cutoff way higher than 8. Very disappointed.

We love this location. My favorite is the outdoor pool. The lazy river walk time is great and I love that I can go this with my teen. The yoga instructors have all been wonderful as well

I came here with my 2 friends and we were having a good time and then we were playing football and missed a catch and bounced to a life guard and then he took the ball and wouldn't give it back till the outside pool closed. Then we were changing in the family changing room and people went in to a shower and I guess the nozzle was broken and then the employee thought it was us that broke it and took a photo of us then they told on us to the manager. I'm very unhappy of what this ymca has turned into, the past couple of years!!!

Both the dry and wet sauna are ONLY around 90 degrees. The average sauna any where else on the low end is 150degrees. 90 degrees is not high enough to receive any health benefits and in the summer is colder than outside. This facility seems more geared toward children than fitness. Sauna gives massive benefits to weight training and studies have shown that sauna reduces all cause mortality (death from all causes) by 40% if used at 170degrees for 20minutes 4 days per week. Sauna is also a great weigh for older people to get great cardiovascular exercise without strenuous activity! Since the sauna is under temp it is a perfect environment for bacteria and will probably be full of people. People use it far longer when it is under temp and it becomes crowded. Most people are not sweating much in here though. This is a simple fix. Increasing the temperature will make your sauna cleaner and safer and actually a benefit to your members. This is not the case for all YMCAs.

I have been going to this Y for years now and really can't imagine having a nicer workout facility. The hours are fantastic and the amount of cardio and resistance machines are great. Rarely can you you not find an open cardio machine. They also have two large areas of free weights. During the summer having access to the large outdoor pool is also great. Staff is all friendly and helpful if needed.

I love the Y. Their equipment, programs and facilities are great. The dress code of the females in this location is difficult to see. I am simply looking for a nice clean workout. I would rather not see anyone only wearing a sports bra & tight shorts/pants. I would really appreciate talking to participants about their clothing and asking the females to put on a shirt and loose shorts/pants. This would allow the facility to stay family friendly.

While visiting family in Wichita, my wife and I stopped in for a workout. This is by far one of the best YMCA’s we’ve ever been to! The customer service was outstanding and the facilities are top notch! Great job to everyone involved in establishing such a great place for families to attend in this area. We’ll definitely be back anytime we’re in town.

We recently gifted ourselves a YMCA membership for Christmas, and the decision to engage with a personal trainer, Ann Wierwille, has truly elevated our experience. Ann's dedication, expertise and enthusiasm have shone through every step of the way, from our initial orientation to the tailored training program she designed for us. Also, Ann’s β€œWarrior Wellness” class has become a highlight of our week!

We are already experiencing tangible benefits of our NW YMCA membership and couldn’t be happier with our decision to join!

Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful. When I first came to the Y, I had recovered from a broken arm. (I had been hit by a car.) Coming to the Y, going to Warriors for Wellness, working with Ann both in class and for a while doing personal training, I have gained energy. If I sit with a book after shopping, it's because I want to read, not because I don't have energy to do something else. When I first started working on the treadmill, I had to hold both sides to keep my balance. Now, I can hold the crane pose for 30 seconds on each leg! (At home where I'm not tempted to laugh. We have so much fun in class!) At 78-years-old, I feel better than ever! Thank you, Ann. Thank you YMCA. A big shout-out to Jandee for keeping class going while Ann you were recovering from surgery. Thank you all so much!

It is hard and time consuming to get a work out in the weight room. Several machines have been broken down for an extended period.
Hugh problem is the difficulty finding a free machine as young females tie up many machines sitting there texting for a long period of time, obvious to the environment.

I went for the pool as a guest and decided to get some food from the concession stand. Ordered 1 pickle and 2 pretzels. I received 2 plain pretzels. Apparently they ran out of salt and the can opener was broken. Also, the pretzels are microwaved and not even in those turning heater type machines. Quality was not worth $3.50 each, but the most aggravating part was that no one mentioned not having salt or cheese. A simple, "we are out of salt and cheese, is plain okay?" is not difficult to do. I felt extemely jipped.
Also, they have way too many double floaties and not enough adult sized floaties! They could also use more chairs and more shading, or at least something to cool off the concrete with. I couldn't make it from the chair on the east side into the pool quick enough, my feet were burning!

Visited from out of state. Had an overall good experience with the facility (variety of equipments), clean bathrooms/showers, the older man who checked me in, and the woman at the front desk with long blonde and black hair with glasses on who saved the day. Awful aquatics center. The facility is nice but the service is just terrible. One coach's water bottle, I think her name is Hannah, had inappropriate stickers on it while in a children's environment. She's a great coach but very very unprofessional. The staff there are always complaining and cussing.

UPDATE: Went back. Parking spaces are still small. Actual YMCA is really nice! I only made issue about the water park (which I still feel could benefit from a bit of signage) but the rest of it, I like. Keep reading to see me complain about a water park.

Parking spaces are too small. Lifeguards are strict. Yellow colored slide has an exit on both sides, but you are only allowed to exit on the left. Water park is meh. Slides are calm. HORRIBLE service.

Mason at the front desk was very unhelpful. They recently switched from towels to disinfectant wipes. I am really heavy sweater and I asked if I could use one of the towels behind the desk, but I was told no and that the disinfectant wipers were their new solution. I told him I would have brought my own to wipe the puddles of sweat off the machines before disinfecting, because I wanted to be curious to the other guest. He told me that it was leave on disinfectant and it wasnt sweat. Not sure why he was so against letting me use a towel just one time since i wasnt aware of the change. I ended up leaving after using one machine because the wipes were not sufficiently removing my sweat. Not happy with their customer service and why I couldn't use a towel that I could clearly see.

Outdoor pool area has one little shaded spot that people but their things on and leave for hours. Need more shaded areas... It's a ymca we all pay a membership no need to hog chairs you aren't even using . The inside pool area windows are always filthy. In the pool they let kids use a real football to throw across the span on the pool and don't seem to care when kids are hit by it that aren't even playing with the ball. It be nice to add things to the family area for kids to enjoy.

Horrible Service, been going 10+ years and they say my membership is expired. So we fix the problem β€œsupposedly” and I come in and they let me through. Now today I go in and they don’t let me through saying my membership is expired. Understandably, I say that’s fine I’ll fix it tomorrow. However, they say I need to go fix it now and that I am not allowed in. 20 minutes drive to get there and the manager was very stubborn and snobby towards me about the issue.

I just had a terrible experience with the front desk lady at this YMCA. She was rude and even made my 6 year old cry! We’re members of a YMCA in a different city and she insisted we show our ID’s, as their system isn’t linked to other YMCA’s. Trouble is, 6 YEAR OLDS DON’T HAVE ID’s! If they don’t have access to our info, what would having an ID solve?!? I would never step foot in this YMCA again, if this front line rudeness is tolerated as a representative of what they stand for.

My husband and I have been members and attend this location for 3 yrs. The facility is not kept clean throughout the day. Never have towels on the floor to clean machines. The sauna frequently does not work. The steam room often smells like mildew or poop. Kids under 18 are often in the sauna or steam room and they are not supposed to be. When you report issues or concerns to the staff, pretty much ignores them. It has gotten worse this year.

Extremely disappointing considering the cost and the fact that we pay our yearly membership in full every year.

Hope it gets better

Need a personal trainer. Ask for Jonathan. He has helped me gain strength and get me on the road to being healthy and moving. He took the time to get to know me and my limitations from my knee replacement. He started me in the pool until i could move upstairs to use the machines and weights. Thanks Jonathan for helping me so much

Nice facility, pools equipment, staff is OK, but the hours are extreme, no other y in the nation has this long of hours and it actually depletes health.

I was in there today and talked to a new employee, Suresh, who took the time to show me several different machines and how I should be working out on them. He was most helpful because no one had ever shown me this before. He probably spent almost an hour with me and I will definitely look him up if I need help in the future.
