Best place to play tennis in Kansas City area for all levels of playersβfrom the early morning older guys group to ladiesβ doubles, to the 50+ 4.5 and 5.0 guys, to aspiring juniors, you canβt beat it. 14 indoor courts with good gym and personal training opportunities. Plus 2 padel courts onsite. Great place!

I joined for my son who is a high school tennis player and the facility is very clean, and the staff is super friendly. Junior membership rates are fair, and they are very low pressure about joining (compared to Genesis, which we found terribly pushy and just trying to get you to join). One thing to note, membership doesn't get you free court time. This is somewhat disappointing especially when there are times when the court is literally empty. Paying $30/hr plus to use a court for members feels steep. We joined mainly to get a reduced rates for private lessons, which if you have multiple per month, make the membership more favorable. Nice place though and recommend versus others in the neighborhood.

Cannot say enough about OP/KCUT! My daughter started playing tennis right before her freshman year in HS at a local club. Those coaches initially were fine, but because she was new to the sport, most did not want to invest in her. It was recommended by a HS coach we move to OP. There, Elliott saw my kiddo's drive and athletic ability. He looked beyond her lack of 'proper technique' and taught her how to strategize using HER SKILLS to compete on the court. The technical skills came later with hardwork, lessons and academies... and an investment in my kiddo from ALL the coaches at OP. The players at KCUT are truly unique as they are not only top level tennis players, but also a determined tennis family full of integrity, competitiveness and sportsmanship. The talent level ceiling at OP is so high, it inspires everyone at all levels to excel. Without this club, specifically Elliott and Eric, my daughter would not have been a 7 time team and individual state qualifier with with five All-State finishes... these finishes are important because in tennis, if you dont start early you rarely see success. BUT THESE COACHES and this ENVIRONMENT invest in their kids, demand and help them strive for success both on and off the court. My kiddo had an opportunity to play college tennis, but chose to end her journey. Instead of being disappointed, these OP coaches praised her choice, celebrated her maturity and encouraged her to take what she learned on the court onto the next level as a college student. Is it worth the drive, YES. Is it worth the time, YES. Is it hard, YES. Is it worth the money, YES. Hope this helps someone when making this choice.. and enjoy your tennis ride with your kiddo, I would not trade mine for the world! YAY TENNIS!

Came for a beginners class on 9/13 and it was unfortunately a horrible experience. I had never played before and was hoping for some guidance to get started. It was evident immediately that Jorge had no intentions to be helpful to me and was almost irritated I was there. I was criticized without being provided proper technique or feedback straight out the gate. He was upset with me before I would have an opportunity to even try each round. This class did anything but make me excited to try again.

Very nice facility! Courts well lighted and in great condition. Would be nice if courts were labeled so that they could be read from the balcony.

I am very disappointed with the Customer Service at Overland Park Racquet Club. I was a member for over 10 years but 3 years ago switched to Genesis KCRC. I still participate in many activities at OP and still enjoyed playing tennis there but now I know my decision to move was the correct one. I was a guest playing with three other members who offered to split the $12 guest fee to make it more even. When we went to pay, they said they couldn't split the guest fee so suggested that one member pay for it and then we reimburse her so that's what we did. A day later, the other three girls realized they had been charged just the court time, but I had not. This was surprising since we thought one girl would be charged the entire amount as it was agreed.
Since my credit card was expired, they could not process the charges. I received an email in March for the January court time requesting an updated credit card. When I called, I am now finding out they charged me the entire $12 guest fee. Now I could go back and ask for each girl to pay me $3.00 but I don't want to do that, so I asked if OP would agree to waive this guest fee in this one instance since this was not the way we wanted to be billed. Ann in accounting said it doesn't matter how long I was a member for and that since I was not a member at the time, I owed the $12. I don't disagree with her but was hoping for a little consideration as it is only $12 and I thought my past years of membership might have some influence. I even asked for a credit to be placed on the account for a future court time but no luck. It doesn't seem like everything needs to always be black and white and that there could be some leniency or exceptions to make a customer happy or even to want to come back at some time to be a member. That will not be happening with me. No, the extra $9 will not break me. It's just the principle.

Please read all the way to the end.
I called ahead and was told that they would/could regrip my pickleball paddleβ¦when I got there it turns out that they donβt offer that service. The person at the front desk suggested that I go to SERV next doorβ¦so I did and when I went in Connor gladly grabbed my paddle and put the new grip on (which I already had from the manufacturer). When I asked him how muchβ¦he stated No Charge, just come back and play sometime. I will definitely be going back.
By the way I really do appreciate OPRC making the referral and not just saying that they donβt do it after all. Their facility is beautiful and well kept and clearly their staffs is helpful and friendly!

Overall very good club to play tennis and/or pickleball. Have 14 indoor courts and some outdoors as well. A few clay too. Offers classes and hosts tournaments, and a variety of membership that fits your needs. I like the indoor courts a lot. The only downside is some of the front desk service people can use some training. Often got wrong bills. It's a bit annoying that you have to keep an eye on your own bills. But management is easy to work with to sort things out.

OPRC has a nice, large facility that is in very good condition, with many nice indoor and outdoor courts and good, elevated viewing areas. Four of the outdoor courts are clay. They host many tennis tournaments here, which they can do because of their size. The staff is professional and courteous. They have a significant workout area, but make no mistake, this is a tennis club.
