This course is a joke, if it's not someone walking directly across the green when I'm about to swing, it's some one from another hole hitting over the flag when I'm trying to putt. And the holes are not spread out so their is balls flying by you from other holes. It's more of a warzone between dodging balls and trying to avoid hitting someone with a goofball. This course is a mediocre rating for a reason. Also I was twilight and some how still 40 dollars. Go play some where else. This course is a joke

My first time coming here I booked a 7am T. And no one showed up to work for the course until about 820 had people waiting for hours. They issued rain checks to make up for it cool. I then book a T time for the following week. This time they removed me from the schedule on the computer and added someone else to my T time and then said you can wait 2 hours to play. I said I can’t make that time and was not even issued a new rain checks.

So would I recommend this place to anyone. Never. Nope. Worst experience and no customer care.

I understand golf is popular these days and therefore prices are a little higher. Supply and demand. Having said that, I played around noon on a Saturday and it cost just over $60. I wish I had taken photos of the course, especially the holes where the fairways were actually unplayable. I wouldn't play this course again unless it was less than $40. Another local course ruined by Great Life.

Update: i played this course about 6 weeks after my initial review and had a better experience. I played for about $45 and the course was in better shape. I'm now giving 3 stars instead of 1.

For as many bad reviews as this place gets, it was a great expirence playing it for the first time on memorial day weekend. Pace was no issue, took about 4.5 hours, the course was in better shape than what people were saying. There were some rough spots but every course has them. Painted Hills is a public golf course. It is pretty easy to find availability. The people on the course and in the clubhouse are all friendly and neighborly.
The skill level of most players on the course was below my level, and that is not good. There isn’t much space between the hole you are on and the hole next to you running the other way. There were times when we were definitely in danger of getting hit with stray balls. There were many more times than usual when we had to wait for duffers to search for lost balls.
Perhaps one third of the greens were notably small. Most of the greens were surprisingly rough. It was nearly impossible for anyone to sink a ten foot putt here.
This is a good course for people to learn how to play golf. It is not so good for people who are no longer beginners.

It's just an okay golf course. not worth $60 at all compared to Tomahawk/ Sykes/ Falcon Valley. This is worse than those by far and more expensive. Everything in the clubhouse is a way overpriced. Titleist truefeel balls sold for $23-$25 everywhere in town are $35 here. I felt ripped off before I even played. The course is littered with miss hit golf balls everywhere. The teebox on 16 you tee off near the trash bins by a low income apartment complex that’s sketchy as hell and looks 3rd world, never done that before. This is a GREATLIFE course.

I played Painted earlier in the year and wasn’t overly impressed. Booked it again on a whim this Labor Day and it was really in fantastic shape. Pace was slightly slow, but even with waiting on a few tees, we still finished in about four hours. You can score well on this course.

Pretty rough and as another reviewer stated, they schedule tee times way too close together. The people behind us were hitting into us, as we had to wait for the golfers in front of us (actually we had golfers on other holes hitting into our fairway throughout the round.) The clubhouse was fairly small but looked decent. First thing I didn't like was that there is no walking rate. The holes are all fairly close together so this would be a fairly easy walking course but there's only one price whether you're in a cart or not.
Tee boxes were a little rough. I expect some patches and such here and there, especially on par 3s but there was a lot of grass and weeds growing in some part just like it wasn't cut evenly.
Fairways were mostly decent. Some spots here and there where I just played ground under repair due to grass not growing. Rough was hit or miss. Some spots near trees where grass wasn't growing at all.
Greens were the best part about the course. I was really impressed with them. They rolled true and fast. Minimal pitch marks. Best part about the course.
There was no starter and no marshal. I played on a Monday at noon. I was suppose to be paired up with 2-3 other people but when my tee time hit I was the only one on the first tee so I tee'd off by myself. Was a slow round. Backed up and no one to monitor pace of play. 4 hours as a solo makes for a long game and I would have had to skip at least a few holes to get past people so I just sat around and waited each shot.
Kids on the course needed monitored. Saw a couple times kids goofing off and being loud. but again, no marshall.
Overall 2/5 and the 2 stars is mostly for the low cost and nice greens.

We arrived for our tee time only to find out that tee times are scheduled very close together. This causes there to be a line at every hole. So be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes every hole before golfing. The carts are very old and cough every time you push the gas. The holes are in decent condition and greens aren't bad at all. We left early because we were on a 5 hour pace and one of us had to leave. Won’t be coming back.

It's a great gym but I get off work late so I wish they would let you work out 24/7 a lot of people like to come from like 10pm to 12 but now they are enforcing that the doors be closed by 10 and people be out. I think we should start a petition on how long the gym should be open.

I love Painted Hills!! The staff is very friendly and courteous. I've been going here about a year.Nice staff.The atmosphere is perfect to workout in.The monthly price is beyond reasonable. It's almost criminal(it's very low).You don't have to wait in large lines on equipment. I love that the numbers are low during the day. Played here yesterday and the course was in very poor condition. Not only were most of the grassy areas chopped up, but there weren't even tee markers on the tee boxes on a 70 degree day in March. Not to mention 11 of their golf carts were out of service so our tee time was delayed which meant we didn't get to finish 18 before dark. Probably won't be going back.

Golfed at Painted today. The course has been in rough shape over the last couple of years. Today I saw new and continued improvements. New: Some bunkers with fresh sand, Improved fairway maintenance and better maintained tee boxes. Continued: Great greens and friendly staff.

It's been a work in progress but if there wasn't some sort of effort it wouldn't be trending upwards so would like to give a shout out because it was noticeable today.

I want to start this by stating today was my third time playing at painted hills. The first time I noticed farways and greens where in poor conditions but didnt mind as I am a couple year player. My second time the condition of the course was even worse. All farways where over grown and full of weeds. Today my third and final time playing here there was huge frees fallen down in the middle of farways, branches and trash in farways and on greens. This course can be great if management picked up there game and did actual work. I will also like to say tee times are double booked and extremely close. Will not be coming back.

What can you say ...it was acquired by Great Life ... so Great Life will turn a nice course into a pasture. It is what they do. The greens were decent. The fairways and rough were not mowed for several weeks. The sand traps were an embarrassment to all golf courses everywhere. I asked the guy in the pro shop if they were working on the sand traps since there was no sand in any of them ... and all he could say was, "Listen, we are not Augusta."
Nice. What a ridiculous comment. This course needs about a $20.00 greens fee. Anything higher than that is a rip-off.

Service is good, food is good, the greens are good, everything else is terrible. The fairways are in horrible shape, the bunkers are in horrible shape, and the carts are not maintained and have a tendency to have issues while on the course.

The sad thing about all of this is the course has a ton of potential to be a great course if properly maintained. Considering that the condition of the course continues to deteriorate and has not improved since the Great Life company took over, the owners must not know what they are doing.

Would get a 4 or maybe even 5 stars but much of the equipment needs to be repaired or replaced all together, not a ton of space which really isn't an issue but during peak hours when there's 10+ people in the gym I begins to feel cramped... Also this place most definitely needs to install a sauna or steam room, I'm mean seriously those amenities I feel are non negotiable when it comes to gyms and health clubs... As a beginner in the sport of golf, I find Painted Hills to be a course for the intermediate golfer or better. It is lined with trees, greens defended by sandy bunkers and water ways that separates the Tees from the Fairways; not to mention greens blinded by hills and long dog legs. the greens are fun to try and read but can vary from fast to slow. Very well kept but a bit pricey. However, whatever level of golfer you are, fun is to be had at the Painted Hills Golf Course. I definitely recommend a round on this Course for a day of friendly banter and sportsmanship. Fooooooore!😅

The club house Booked 2 of us behind a league tournament that was very slow. Over the course of 2 hours we only were on hold 6, we decided to call it a day and get a rain check. NOPE! Pretty fun little track. Its less than 6000 yards from the tips. The course recently went through some sod replacement and parts of the course havent taken well so that coupled with there not being a pro shop I rate them a 3/5. Unless you dont care what ball you use, make sure to bring your own before you arrive.

It’s pretty damn expensive for the quality of the course though.
We went out last Sunday. This was the first day to stay in the 80s and not in the 100s in roughly three weeks. And they closed the front nine for maintenance. Lucky we were on ten but it meant everyone on the course was now shoved to the back nine. This was at noon, on the nicest day in three weeks on a Sunday. Who made that decision?!

The greens are not great. The course it’s self is ok. Kind of tight.

There are hardly any signs. we got lost no less than 3 times. It’s laid out in a way that makes very little sense. The tea boxes don’t show a picture of the whole so sometimes your showing blind with really no idea if your aiming in the right direction. It’s not a big thing, but it’s annoying and lazy, and I feel it’s a good representation of the course as a whole.

If the course cost maybe half of what it does, it would be fine. But at the coast per round it is, it’s not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.

A good good course that has a few holes that need some work. Drainage was an issue on two on the holes in the back 9. Sand traps were soggy.. granted it rained the day before. There are some great long drive holes that have forgiving fairways and some par 3s that take some skill. We lost a few balls in the first rough which was frustrating, but overall we do enjoy this course. Will certainly go back.

Played here today as a non member. I’ve never seen a course as rough as this one. If google would have let me rate lower than 1 star i would have.
