This is a hidden gem as quite possibly the best birthday party location in Manhattan. We just had my daughter’s 4th bday party here and it was a dream. They were so chill and so helpful. Great price. Proximity of the party room to gym floor was a dream come true. Everyone could socialize in the party space without taking their eyes off their kids. (Compare to LEAP, you spend 0 time in the party room/party space if you want to supervise your kid). We had no problem fitting 15 four year olds comfortably in the party room. We were 10/10 satisfied and could tell our guests were impressed. We aren’t members of the gym, aren’t enrolled in classes etc. They are clearly just this chill/helpful/friendly to everyone with 0 pressure to join/sign up for anything else. Would shout it from the rooftops that this is the best bday party location in town for this age range. We were able to host a perfect party thanks to them. Thanks so much Paragon!!!

This gym has had its ups and downs like any establishment, but I’d like to share the main reason we have stayed here for 4 years of competition cheer.

My daughter started her first year the month she turned 6. She had very little confidence and was so shy that she struggled in social situations. One night she was having issues with her shoes (moderate sensory issues with clothes). By the time I was able to get them on comfortably, practice had already been going on for 10 minutes. At that point, she was so upset because “everyone would look at her and be mad at her for being late” that she just hid behind me and cried for the first hour of practice despite attempts both the coach and I made to get her to join the team. We stayed, not to make her feel bad, but because she needed to learn that being a member of a team means you have to show up for them even when you don’t want to. They all had an important place.

With 30 minutes left of practice, Coach Matt asked me if he could come get her and I agreed. He came over (with my permission and with kindness), picked her up, and took her to the mat. He called the whole team over to sit in a circle. He spent the last half hour of practice teaching the kids (ages 6-8) about the importance of lifting up their teammates when they’re having a hard time instead of being mad or unkind that the teammate is not doing what they should be.

It literally changed my daughter’s life. That was the day her confidence started to really build and she came to understand the selflessness involved in being a team member. She is 9 now, has so much more confidence, and has learned and embraced the importance of teamwork, hard work, and empathy. So I recommend this gym for the positivity we have experienced. It’s a place where your kids can be themselves and be embraced for it. The coaches she’s had over the years are people we will remember and appreciate forever.

The pictures are from their competition in OKC yesterday where they had their best performance to date.

My boys have been going to beginner and little ninja class for a few weeks now. It have been great to watch their progress and some of the fear and anxiety fall away. Each time they go they have gotten braver and learn new skills.

My family has been a part of the Paragon community for over a year now, and we couldn’t be happier. The coaches Matt, Caitlin, & Kendall are among the best, providing outstanding guidance and support that have had a profound impact on us all. (All coaches are amazing, I’m just bad with names)

Our son, started as a beginner in the ninja program, has shown remarkable progress. Each session, he strives to advance to the next level, and the strength and skills he has developed have significantly enhanced his confidence and determination. He is striving to make it to the advance classes.

Our daughter has made incredible strides in her tumbling classes. Her cartwheels are now executed with such grace and precision, and the boost in her ability to try new things has been outstanding.

My wife has also experienced tremendous gains in her strength and fitness. The transformation has been inspiring. As for me, I thoroughly enjoyed the adult ninja classes and saw significant improvements in my fitness before I had to take a break for surgery. I’m eager to return and continue working on my fitness goals.

Our son enjoyed his nerf battle party here! The cost was very affordable and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The ninja course and tumbling area made for a lot of fun and a great way for the kids to work off some energy. We will definitely do this again if we have the opportunity.

I enrolled my 3.5 yr old in Paragons ninja class a few months ago to increase his strength. He has already demonstrated huge improvement in his gross and fine motor skills and he loves everything about the class, down to the friends his age that participate with him!

My daughter has had a blast during her time going to pre-k class. The coaches have been so kind and patient with her while learning new skills. I am so impressed with the coaches ability to work with the younger kids and smile through the pre-k chaos. Class night is my daughter’s favorite of the week!

Good with kids but I feel like the communication could be a bit better. I know they were doings some transition but it would be told to all of the coach would be leaving a class. It kinda ruined the experience for us. My kid is on the spectrum and sudden changes don’t help us.

If you don't tolerate bullying please read this! I debated this review our time at Paragon wasn't always bad. We had some good moments. However, the bad did out weigh the good. My daughter started cheering at Paragon in 2021. She started in exhibition cheer then the following year joined the prep cheer team. She was the youngest both teams. The problems started when she joined the prep team the summer of 2022. There was an older girl on her team that would make fun of her. She would say mean things and try to make the other team members do the same. My daughter told me what was going on so I informed management. Matt (one of the owners) called a parent meeting and informed everyone that bully would never be allowed in his gym. He said that, that was the ONLY warning and if he finds out your athlete is bullying they will be cut from the team IMMEDIATELY! Well fast forward to Feb. 2023. Again my daughter begins to get bullied by another older girl on the team. This girl wasn't just saying things she would physically push my daughter. She was purposely nudge her or bump into her. She was much bigger then my daughter as well. I noticed this behavior and told my daughter we will be pulling her from the team because it was ridiculous and I will not sit back and watch it happen. My daughter cried to me and begged to stay on the team because she did not care and wanted to keep cheering with her friends. So I let her stay but I informed her coaches Molly and Courtney about this and was told they would handle it. Now at one point my daughter started to defend herself. She would talk back to the girl and tell her to not push her but then I realized the coaches would punished the both of them even know they knew the older one was starting and my daughter was just defending herself. The bullying continued. It got to the point MULTIPLE parents on the team reached out to me to let me know that their athletes informed them that the girl was targeting my daughter. I then informed Matt again of bullying but this time I gave him screenshots as proof AND he checked surveillance cameras. He called a parent meeting where the girl ADMITTED to bullying my daughter. You would think she would be kicked off immediately like Matt said right? WRONG! He gave yet another warning and told her if there's another incident she would be kicked off. Not even a month later March 19th to be exact she started bullying again! This time my daughter told her coach and instead of him informing me and the other parent he took it upon himself to tell the girls who were bullying that if they continue they won't be able to practice or compete. Now this was told to me by another cheerleaders parent on the team. Matt failed to inform me there was another incident that my daughter told him about. Around 7 pm once 2 parents reached out to me to tell me this information I asked Matt about it. He told
Me that he will be checking the cameras the next day then he would get back to me. I waiting the next day until around noon then my husband and I decided we will just be pulling our daughter from the team. My husband called Matt to inform him. Then Matt told my husband that he saw what we were talking about but it did not look malicious?! Like come on. My husband then asked for a refund of our competition fees for the 3 competitions we have to miss due to Paragons negligence and was told he would not be refunding. Later that day the mom of the girl who bullied my daughter reached out to inform me her daughter was no longer on the team. Which makes zero sense because Matt doubled down on the fact that what the girl did was not malicious so why was she kicked off? My daughter could have stayed with her team to finish the season if that was the case. Paragon lacks accountability.Accountability would be refunding us knowing we did not make this decision lightly. I said all this to say. If you're looking for a place that addresses issues when they arise, stands up for you kid, and is ACCOUNTABLE Paragon is not it.

The absolute best place for kids in Manhattan! My son has attended summer camp two years in a row, as well as Ninja Warrior and Tumbling classes. He always has a blast and comes home exhausted. I cannot say enough positive things about the coaches and owners. They've become like family. We make the drive from the complete opposite side of town five days per week during the summer because it's just worth it.
