I was disappointed with my recent visit to the gym. One of the trainers was wearing extremely long shorts that went all the way down to their ankles due to no belt. Had a very threatening look with piercing and a skull hat. I will not be using a trainer now.

I am very upset with this planet fitnes. As a black card I’ve been to a few different ones and never seen a cooler this bare before. The manager never has the cooler stocked. It’s near bare every time I come in. Poor employees I always ask when they will have protein shakes again and they don’t even know!!! I also don’t understand why the employees have to stand for hours. I might just goto crunch for now on seeing they at least keep the coolers stocked.

Welcome to the judgement full zone! Communication from leadership is lacking (if not just embarrassing at that) and concerns raised by members often go unanswered and unsolved. Staff that were consistent or actually care are no longer at this location which makes me believe that retention and customer service are 1/5 when it comes to priority. I would rather be a part of a more respectable establishment than this one, like a 2011 long John silvers perhaps! Do yourself a favor, save your money and gym elsewhere

Charged me my annual fee after 2 months. Then when I wasn’t happy about it staff followed me out the store demanding payment. I've been a member of Planet Fitness for a while now, and I’m consistently impressed with the overall atmosphere and service. The gym is always clean, well-maintained, and has everything I need for a great workout, including lots of new equipment! A special mention to Owen, a personal trainer at the gym, who is always motivating and engaging with members. It’s clear he’s dedicated to helping others reach their fitness goals, and it’s inspiring to watch him work with clients. Also, Gabriel, the manager, does an excellent job running the place; being friendly, approachable, and always available to help with any questions. Gabriel's leadership really sets a positive tone, making the gym feel like a welcoming and supportive community. Highly recommend the Lawrence Planet Fitness to anyone looking for a great place to work out!

Gym used to be fantastic at 9$ month. Then instead of adding a bench press... Not another "smith" machine, they remove workout equiptment and keep the 100+ cardio machines that are rarely ever used. This gym was worth the money when it was 24/7 now it seems almost like a place old people should go. Kinda sad pf used to be great.

I was really excited when my friend mentioned that they were adding some new equipment, however when I came in to visit I was really disappointed at how empty the gym was. They took out a lot of the machines that I liked using and it seems more isolating. Their new machines just seem very intimidating and a lot of them have awful modifications like the hip adductor/abductor. It is now one join machine instead of two and the other way the foot steps are positioned makes it extremely awkward to use. Overall disappointed and might look elsewhere

Great staff very friendly and welcoming their attitude really makes the gym feel like a judgment free zone and they also have a great trainer that genuinely wants to help you reach your goals. The place is a lot cleaner than a lot of the gyms I go to or see and they have a nice wide range of machines so if somethings taken to can go to one of the same machine or a different one to work out the same muscle group in maybe a way you haven't tried before overall a great place to be to get your workout in.

The staff make you feel like you are unwelcome and unwanted at the gym They are rude and don't know basic information and act as if your questions and existence are a burden to them. Very condescending to people with bigger bodies. If the website is unclear you will get several different answers depending on which employee you speak to regarding policy. First time in the gym I approached an employee to see how to check in and was rudely told that you do it on the app as I typed this review my photos not even on file because the stuff flat out refuse to help me finish setting my account up.

Just traveling through the area. Equipment is in good working order. (Only 1 seated row machine was down all week.) Employees aren't very cordial. They stand behind the counter and look at their phones. Several paper towel dispensers empty...I go to two and if they are both empty, machine doesn't get wiped down. I visited 5 times in one week and the same hair/dirt was in the showers and changing stalls. 🤮 (I ALWAYS wear flip flops and try not to touch anything...)

This club gets two stars simply because of customer service. The college aged employees would definitely be elsewhere and it shows. I also canceled my membership yet 3 days later the monthly dues were pulled from my checking account. When I called to ask why I get told it’s because payment processing began on the 10th. Cool. It’s the 19th bud. No other explanation and no refund.

Great workout place. Lots of machines and for the most part the PF team leaves a person alone and they don't get pushy about upgrading one's membership or about buying any of their other products. Most of the staff are great. I have only had a couple of times were a staff member seemed to not be a great fit for their job at PF. That is to be expected at any workplace. No one that has been working out there has ever given me any grief or been judgmental.

Update: got one of those email invitations to submit feedback. Expressed what I didn't like. Got a call a few days later from the manager. What things she did bring up from my survey responses she politely told me weren't going to change, and there wasn't anything they were willing to do about it.

If you're looking for when the PF will be 24 hours again, I was told it's nowhere on the radar unless they get a surge of new users.

Still a mediocre gym. Not the worst in the world, but you pay for budget and you basically get that.

Staff is always sitting around at the front and never cleaning any time i come in, and all machines i’ve used so far have some sort of dirt, dust build up especially in the phone holders (see photos for reference). i’ve seen that management isn’t that good here from recent reviews and it shows. I’ve been an off and on again member of PF for the last few years. The Lawrence location, is my “home” gym, and I usually have a pretty good experience but the general manager, Tiffany, is by far the rudest manager of any establishment I’ve been at. Almost every time I interact with her, she is snotty for no reason, and watching the way she speaks to the floor staff is terrible! I know several of the workers there, (and some who are no longer there because of her) and ALL of them talk about how rude she is. I brought a guest when the mask mandate was still on and we were resting in a corner of the gym probably 30 feet away from the nearest person and we were only taking our masks off to drink water, but miss Tiffany felt the need to walk across the gym to where we were standing to yell at us about our masks being off, it made both of us extremely uncomfortable and she was so unprofessional about it. She also told us we needed to stay six feet apart from each other but what a joke because she was less than 3 feet away from both of us. I’m not surprised my friend decided not to join PF when this was her first interaction with a manager. The gym itself is usually pretty clean, but I notice that they don’t really enforce any of the rules about dress code, cleaning equipment, etc. Most of the workers are super nice and make the experience an enjoyable one!! I wish it was 24/7 because that’s what I pay for, but oh well.

PF's claims about caring about Covid-19 safety are a complete joke. There's absolutely no mask enforcement whatsoever at the Lawrence, Kansas location. The unenforced rule is that you don't have to wear your mask when at your station, e.g., at individual weight machine, but otherwise while you're moving around the facility you're supposed to mask up. I just left the Lawrence location and there are several people in there with no masks on walking around (and no visible masks on their person at all). I suspect the problem in part is they only hire college age individuals who don't appear to do anything except stand around at the front desk and chat amongst themselves - never do you see staff members walking through the workout areas to check on things.

Have belonged to Planet Fitness all over the country until now. I cancelled my gym membership at this location due to the unprofessional treatment I had regarding masks. Please figure out your protocols, train people and then share with your members. When I attempted to address this with an employee who chased me into the locker room - she took zero ownership, said she didn’t make the policies - I had simply suggested they communicate better - she just pointed to a sign and took no accountability for her behavior either. This was the second incident at this gym where unprofessionalism was demonstrated. Further she didn’t care that I cancelled my membership after being a member for years. Very sad Planet Fitness that employees such as this one are allowed to work there and you can’t go the extra mile in explaining your policies so people know what to expect.

Tiffany threatened to freeze my membership for not wearing a mask while in between sets/ resting. I was upset, sure, but I decided to try and ask her for the mask policy so I can update myself on the info. When I asked her, she said Planet Fitness has no actual mask policy and it was State Ordinance. When I asked for the state ordinance she quoted and used to freeze my membership with she said she was on lunch break and couldn't provide it. When pressed further, she threatened to kick me out. I had my mask on the whole time except for resting. I love Planet Fitness and have never had any problems until Tiffany decided to threaten me with loss of my membership and getting kicked off the property, all for asking her to provide info on the policy she quoted.

EDIT: Thank you for the clarification, the club manager should probably be notified of this policy as well since she said it didn't exist when I asked for more info. Now I can workout safely without being publicly scolded and harassed by a representative of Planet Fitness.

Preditory place they put you in a contract, but then you can never cancle i am calling my bank to block the transaction since you have no way to cancel other than fill out some form that never gets processed. Put a cancellation button on your website. Edit. You didn't need my signature when I paid online initially. So the only possible reason for requiring it when canceling is to make it complicated. Also We are in Quarantine and our US Mail is overloaded so two things I am currently avoiding is using the mail system to help alleviate that, and going into a gym which is a pretty good place to get Covid 19. Add a cancel button to your website.

I was happy to see the no-commitment membership option this summer and decided to sign up for a month. I specifically asked when I should cancel my account in order not to be charged a second month and was told that it would be safe to cancel about ten days before August. I made a point to do this and called to cancel today, and was told that I actually would have needed to call two days earlier and that they are not currently giving refunds. I understand that everyone is strapped in this economy, but I haven’t used this gym in weeks, so I feel that I have been wrongfully weaseled out of money. I will not be returning to this gym.
