I enjoy going to the gym and always wipe the equipment off when I am finished as you should. This particular location however never seems to have paper towels in multiple cleaning stations. I dont want to seek out paper towels after each machine. Also, they never seem to have hand sanitizer when you leave. Ive asked them before and they blamed corporate. Ive never witnessed an employee cleaning. No vacuums, no dusting, and no cleaning the machines or free weights and mats. The only reason im saying this is because ive witnessed other locations doing so. I hope this further action may get their attention.

Before I begin, Forest is a gem “ no pun” I hope you realize he’s keeping your reviews afloat. But, as I can only speak of peak times, as that’s when I and the rest of Overland Park can come into this location. It is a clean location, and the staff is great. However, I’d avoid this location due to the large community of people that do not share, will squat for over 30 min, and do not wipe down the equipment. You simply cannot get a work out in, during their social hours of 4:30pm till about 7. They will get violent if you ask to work-in and will not be at all respectful or even acknowledge your existence if a female. Stranger danger is real at metcalf, and totally worth the 11 min drive to the next location

My husband and I use the Planet Fitness location on Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas. We are very happy with the club. Cleanliness. We have found the entire club to be quite clean including the bathrooms and locker rooms.
Condition of Equipment: We have never come across any broken or out of commission equipment. The condition of the machines including the soft cushions is very good.
Amenities; This club has its own spa machines, which you can use with a Black Card membership. My husband absolutely loves using the massage machine after a workout.
Training. I have used one of the Planet Fitness trainers with good results (FREE!)
Courtesy: There is a very good level of courtesy at the club and the management is always helpful.
Phones: They have a brilliant phone policy which allows phone conversations in the lobby only. This mean you never have someon camping out on a machine while talking on their phone.
Cost: Very reasonable.
Over all Experience: Our overall exerience has been much, much better than that we had at our former club which is a very well-known club with lots of locations. We would NOT go back.

My husband and I go to this location. The staff is friendly. It has all the equipment we need. My biggest complaint is the lack of opening on time. They are supposed to open at 5 AM during the week. I have to go workout first thing in the morning. There have been many times I show up and it’s “closed” because no staff showed up to open the location yet. To make it worse, you don’t know until you get here or how long till someone will show up, so people are sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone to show up or having to drive to another location. Starting to look for a new gym that I can count on the location being open at 5 AM.

I’ve been on a coast to coast road trip this summer and I’ve been to at least 10 locations and this one was pretty grimy. Mold on the shower curtains, and the shower floor. The machine seemed fine, but who can tell? The sink in the bathroom were filthy. If I lived here, I would be driving farther to find a better location.

The gym smells like the worst body odor ever. The members here do not wear deodorant and it stinks the whole gym up consistently. I travel the US for work. Have never smelled a gym like this. I wish I were joking here. It’s a serious problem but you can’t say anything or you are deemed intolerant. I’m sorry, be hygienic. It’s just respectful to other members. The stink will make your eyes water. Unreal.

Recently enrollment for me. I needed the couch for me to start properly. Friday at 9 am he was not here, scheduled a class for Saturday at 10, he was not here he called me and scheduled a class for Monday at 12. He is not here. The guys from the desk were very polite and on Saturday they contacted the trainer for me but this did not work either.

This gym offers a solid facility for the affordable price of $10. The equipment and workout areas are in good condition, and the atmosphere is friendly with approachable staff and members. However, it tends to get overcrowded, especially on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, particularly around the weight and 360 warm-up areas. Additionally, the cancellation policy is inconvenient, requiring members to physically visit the location or send a mail to enable a simple feature like online cancellation.

I've been a member of Planet Fitness for about a year now, and I've had a really positive experience. The gym is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
One of the things I love about Planet Fitness is that it's a judgment-free zone. This means that everyone is welcome, regardless of their fitness level or body type. I've never felt self-conscious working out at Planet Fitness, and I've always felt supported by the other members.
Another thing I love about Planet Fitness is the variety of equipment. There are plenty of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights to choose from. I've never had a problem finding a machine that I need.
The prices at Planet Fitness are also very reasonable. I pay about $10 per month for my membership, which is a great deal.
Overall, I've had a really positive experience at Planet Fitness. It's a clean, friendly, and affordable gym that's perfect for people of all fitness levels.

This gym is pretty new and it is clean. But the members who work out here are lame. Members walk around playing music on their phones on speaker, they don’t re-rack their weights, they sit on machines and talk for 20 minutes…and the employees at the front desk are nice, but nobody walks around to check on everything so it is a free-for-all out there. The employees just stand there. So, it is a really good price but it is basically a high school gym and high school gyms need constant supervision.

Moved out of state and it’s made it impossible to transfer my membership or cancel it. Planet Fitness is a scam in that they make you go through so many hurdles in order to cancel. They’ve charged me well over $150 without my permission. Closed my bank account and gotten a new one so they found another account and started charging that. Choose a gym that’s going to let you cancel as easy as they let you sign up. The FTC are suing these scammers.

The Planet Fitness on 114th & Metcalf in Overland Park has the BEST, most friendly staff I've seen in my 50+ years of working out in various health clubs.
