Setting this place as my home gym was the biggest mistake of my life. I’ve been trying to reach them for 2 days because I canceled my membership before my vacation but still have access until I leave but can’t access any gyms because they won’t answer and give me my barcode. This isn’t even the first time I’ve had issues with them logistically.

I would give it 5 stars, but I'm not really impressed with how the staff seems to stay away from everyone like the plague. If for some reason they see me using a piece of equipment incorrectly, perhaps possibly injuring myself, they should speak up. Maybe some of the personal trainers could introduce themselves. It's pretty easy to tell when someone would like to talk. Other than that equipment is good, vibe is good, number of different equipment to do things in similar, but not totally the same. Planet Fitness is a place that you don't feel like you have to be a supermodel, there's all shapes and sizes. I like it mostly.

So I just signed up for a black card membership and must say I am impressed with this planet fitness. The staff was amazing, the equipment is nice and the spa with hydro beds and tanning is amazing! I started a black card membership about a month and a half ago at the Topeka (KS) location. The staff has been friendly, there is a large variety of equipment, the equipment looks new or well taken care of, and the environment is friendly. The massage chairs and tanning beds have been amazing as well. Highly recommended!

I was attempting to transfer my membership from another Planet Fitness to Topeka. I am never comfortable with allowing unfettered access (years ago another gym in KC continued to withdraw funds for 9 months after my membership was cancelled - they're now out of business), so instead, Planet Fitness allowed me to pay for 6/12 months in advanced. So I did. No issues. Topeka however would not even consider it. I even invited them to call the other Planet Fitness (different ownership, but also in KS) to confirm no problems the year I was there. Not even an option. Why would any business turn down pre-payment/funds to instead have access monthly? I suspect some shady intentions. It can be done. I've done it at another Planet Fitness without incident... But Topeka does NOT seem trustworthy! I will get my membership elsewhere. To avoid what I suspect is malicious intent - others might want to as well. EDIT: Management responded. Basically affirming everything I said. Except of course the malicious intent. It was not a special promotion, just offering good member services- which, apparently (per their own admission) is not a priority for Topeka Planet Fitness. I would not trust them.

So I've called on 4/26/2024 at 1:20pm to cancel my subscription. Lady on the phone said manager Andrew left early and won't be in until the weekend. Offered to give me his email although he rarely checks his email, atleast that's what the girl told me. So I said no, that wouldn't do me any good if he doesn't check it often. Toured at 4:00pm on a Wednesday. Staff members and Assistant Manager were friendly and welcoming, and only steps away if assistance is needed. Very clean facility. So many ways to work out, for a very low membership fee. The tanning and massage options are nice add-ons. It's a long drive for me but I plan to visit regularly!

We absolutely love the Planet Fitness in Topeka! The place is always clean and the staff is always friendly and professional and overall very welcoming! They don’t hesitate to answer questions and help in any way you might need. We usually go in the evening and it’s always being stocked and cleaned! You won’t be disappointed by anyone there but I recommend asking for TJ. He has a vast knowledge of fitness and never hesitates to help us when we need anything! All of the staff is great!

I travel the United States for work and I always stop at a Planet Fitness every day in different locations to get my workout in for the day and take a shower.
This is one of the locations I definitely recommend.
I’m going to a bit deeper into the review because it falls into one of my favorite’s out of the chain of gym’s.
The gym was very clean, had self lock lockers ( most don’t ), friendly staff, good atmosphere and my favorite massage chair which they all have but very few have the design of chair that this one had.
I suffer from chronic back pain due to desk issues so when one of the gyms have this chair, I always use it.
I have to give thanks to a employee named Levi because he was the first and only staff member at a Planet Fitness. That actually asked me how long I wanted to have the chair activated for
It may not be something out of this world, but it counts for me because it takes me about five minutes just to get set right in the chair before I can start feeling relaxed and most gyms Have a set timer so by the time I am settled in there’s only five minutes left.

Been here more a lil more than a month. First time joining a gym and this place was the perfect place to start. Can't stop going. The other day it was my b day and TJ got me a free Gatordade which was totally unexpected and cool.

This gym is spotless with staff that are friendly and laid back rather than hyper and fake like some used car salesperson. The machines are top quality and there are enough to accommodate no matter how crowded. The only thing preventing me from upgrading to Black Card membership and reason for three stars is the poor to almost non-existent WiFi. I depend on music for my workouts and not having a reliable connection sucks. The WiFi of the business next door is actually much better most days. Repeated complaints go ignored.

They make it difficult to cancel the membership. I called to cancel they had me spell out my first and last name, just to tell me I could either send a letter with my signature requesting to cancel or come to the facility to cancel. I visited this gym while I was in town for the week. Planet fitness is part of a network that blue cross blue shield health insurance gives me access to. Unfortunately these folks didn't want to hear about it, even though they are absolutely supposed to accept it according to blue cross blue shield. I get it, the real money comes from the memberships and annual fees, so they aren't losing out on my dissatisfaction. I didn't want to argue over a few days so I just paid for a week pass and let it go.

If it wasn't for that I would give it 5 stars because it is absolutely the cleanest and well kept gym I've seen.

Amazing workers, inviting atmosphere that encourages you to keep going w/ no judgment policy. Safety prepared equipment (i.e the weights are assisted with hooks and bars on the end, so need for spotters if you're the lone wolf). Great amenities if you choose to get the premium membership as well as fair prices. The gym you should want to go and boast about.

I moved from Lawrence to Topeka and they were having trouble transferring my account to the point I had to cancel in Lawrence and re open a new account in Topeka. Lawrence charged 15 a month when Topeka charges 10 a month. This would also double charge me the annual fee I would have to pay. I didn’t sign up because they want direct access to bank account with routing number which I give no one due to cyber security risk I won’t trust with the company. Lawrence was able to sign me up on my debit card but Topeka would refuse. Guess I will be finding another gym.

My 15 year old daughter signed up for a membership to Planet fitness with the idea that she would be able to workout alone or with a guest if an adult signed a waiver, but when I went in to sign the waiver the person at the front told me that she had to be 16. I was furious because the website says you can be 15 and go alone. Someone needs to change the website and keep it updated so no one gets a false impression. Very upsetting.

I travel and use Planet Fitness all over the country. This one is very nice and very new. I travel to Topeka here and there and have been hoping one would open and I’m glad I checked while I was in town if one did. It isn’t the most spacious PF I’ve been too but all of the equipment is there and it is fit in really well. I really liked the locker room setup where you didn’t need to bring your own lock. Simply set and alpha numeric code, lock the locker, and move the dials. Later when you go to unlock it you just set the dials to what you had it on when you locked it.
