I am an early morning arrival (3 am M-F) unless I am off work. I love the overnight crew as they are friendly and do a great job of getting the club clean while making sure those coming in are taken care of. The only reason that there are not 5 stars here is that in over the many years I have not seen management. One would think that they would want to see what goes on overnight once in a while to make sure they are meeting the needs of all of their members.

I like it a lot. The staff are really friendly. It's always super clean. My husband is a bariatric with a prosthetic leg. He finds plenty of machines and exercises that he can do despite that. He's gaining muscle and losing weight. I am too.

75 degrees with 7 people inside the gym. Can we be serious??? This is not a normal human workout temperature. I didn’t sign up for hot yoga. Asked management MULTIPLE times and they basically laugh me off. Will officially be cancelling my membership because this is insanity.

This location is run by people who care. They welcome you when you arrive and make it a point to acknowledge you when you are leaving.

Any issues that have ever come up have been taken care of in a reasonable time frame. The gym is kept clean, and comfortable. The equipment is also well maintained.

I have used two other locations nearby, but they are not even close to being run as well.

Props to the management team and staff at this location!

I joined planet fitness due to traveling to the area for a short period of time and it’s been a really good experience so far! Staff is extremely friendly and helped. Still so consistently hot in here. I’ve raised concerns to staff members and they say they’ll fix it and never do. It’s 65 degrees out and the heat is on. I understand staff is cold, but put on a sweatshirt. Especially if I’m not allowed to wear just a sports bra. I love it here but I’m on the verge on leaving for somewhere with a cooler temp. Judging by other reviews I’m not the only one with this issue.

Facility is always clean but I can never finish my workouts because I get super nausea over how hot it is in here. And I know it’s not just me because there’s a few other people that attend this location and complain about the same thing. Allow us to build up a sweat by working out and not walking in and instantly dripping sweat. Customer service is great also.

Planet fitness is a great gym if you are both on a budget and new to the gym! It's always open and getting a black card is only 10 dollars more than a standard card. The black card gives you access to the spa area which has a hydromassage table! it is the best 10 mins of life after a workout! Definitely recommend giving it a try especially if you are scared and new! Great vibes only! 👻🔥

I have to say other than today everything was fine and the staff seemed very nice and helpful, but today was some kind of triathlon which is NOT my problem. I was told it was posted or advertised somewhere and it's no where to be found on the website.
to close down the entire gym is wrong, it's listed as being open 24/7and that means to everyone. to not let me workout is saying these people are more important, I should not have been turned away! that event is a side thing, the gym, it's policies and members should always take precedence over a event. so am I going to get in there way or did they just get in my way. wrong is wrong- christopher cavanaugh

I started working out in May and have been going consistently 5 times a week for a month or so. The staff is nice and greets you every time you walk in (unless away from desk) It does get a bit hot sometimes but I don’t mind. I don’t know if it’s the AC or just the fact that it’s very hot outside and the door is opening/closing constantly from people coming and going. They stay on top of cleaning. I recently upgraded to Black card, i’m pretty sure it was the manager who kindly showed me how to use the total body enchantment which I really appreciated.

I can't overlook the fact that the A/C didn't seem to be working last summer and it looks to be that way again a year later.

I drove to this location tonight hoping to get a good workout in and walked right back out because of how hot and humid it was in there. On top of the A/C obviously not working in the main space, one of the two large fans seemed to be out of commission too.

Keeping it below 80 degrees is the bare minimum a gym should be able to provide for everyone's safety. I would guess that it was 85 and very humid there tonight.

Management has responded to previous comments saying that we should tell them when the temperature is bad. I don't see how any staff member would fail to notice the heat and not turn on the A/C if they had the power to. Nor do I think it's the guest's responsibility to tell you to keep the gym at a reasonable temperature.

Really disappointed that the location on central still hasn't fixed their air conditioning. They had the front and back door propped open but acted like everything was normal. They did this all last summer as well and gaslight everyone about it. Ridiculous to have this problem go on for so long.

I have been a member for 2 or 3 years at the North Maize location and have been very pleased except for after they remodeled. They were not ready for their grand opening. Still doing construction and the tv’s are a disaster. I have emailed the manager several times with no response. Channel selection is terrible, tvs are not numbered, and sound at treadmills is terrible. I ask why many of the news networks were not available and manger said she would check into it but never got back with me. Staff are too busy visiting with other staff to answer questions.

Made a mistake and got DNR at every Kansas location from the 13th and amidon location due to a front desk girl who didn't like me going in to do my thing and she had a attitude about the way I am. That's her problem, how is it mine when she made it that way when I persisted to ignore her and mind my business? She pulled it out, and I'd like to sue this company if possible. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone! My husband joined them in May, the facility was poorly maintained and very warm, like no AC. Totally unacceptable and such a health hazard for working out condition, especially for pregnant women (such as myself). It made it not enjoyable to work out and extremely uncomfortable. They also charged you a yearly fee of an additional fee of $50 in July, we just couldn't stand it and only went there couple of times before canceling this month. They charge you all kind of fees, $27/month membership, $50+ maintenance fee in July and another $63 to cancel. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! They are a rip off. If you read review calling people sissy for complaining about the temp, don't trust those paid phoney people. My sister from south Florida was in town and check out that planet fitness, she said it was too hot for her too. They should refund the maintenance fees and not charge cancelation fee when their facility did not meet expectations.

They either don't use their AC or it doesn't work. Very hot. Hand sanitizers have been empty for well over a month. Sink in handicap stall out of order for a month. Toilet seat also broken over a month. Never see them cleaning, rebalancing plates on bench/squat racks. People never rerack plates.

As a long time member I am really disappointed that they will not fix the AC. They did a huge remodel in the fall, but none of that matters when the AC doesn't work in the summer. The gym is clean, staffs are very nice and courteous. But recently they're having AC problem that part of the gym has no AC at all. A lot of us have noticed the staffs of the issue but were told they could not do anything about it. This is becoming a more serious problem as summer is getting hotter and people are having trouble breathing and feeling dizzy while working out. This is not safe! Please get this fixed!

This is an affordable, moderate sized, fully equipped, clean, and functional gym that makes it easy to get in, workout, and get out. Admittedly, there are no racks and bars, but there are plenty of benches, dumbbells (3-75lbs), cable machines, machines, cardio equipment, and functional training space, so short of deadlifting and a few power lifting exercises, most people can get a full workout here.
I love this particular location, Central and Woodlawn. The entire staff (I've come at multiple times) are friendly and helpful, and the people who workout here are polite and friendly. There is also a nice variety of people who use this gym, so even though I'm socially awkward, I never feel out of place.

Awesome new equipment. Possibly the most ergonomic equipment I've ever used (I've been going to gyms since 1985). Friendly staff. Love the Hydromassage beds - excellent way to end a workout. Never feels crowded, but I workout during the daytime, so I don't know what it's like after 5PM.

There are very few sanitation stations at this gym compared to the Derby and Rock Rd locations. This adds a significant amount of time to completing a workout. The stations at the Derby and Rock Rd gyms are about 10 to 15 feet from any piece of equipment. There’s only two stations along the entire front wall at this gym. I waste so much time walking between stations. You would think that sanitation, and lots of it, would be a priority during these times. I use all 3 locations because I work in Derby and live in Wichita. Otherwise, the gym is great!
