I recently moved out of state, and The Body Lab is truly what I miss the most about living in Kansas City. The workouts are challenging in the best way and always leave you feeling accomplished, stronger, and energized. It’s not just a full-body workout, it’s an experience that keeps you coming back because it’s fun and motivating. The coaches and community made such a positive impact on me, and I haven’t found anything quite like it since moving. If you’re lucky enough to live nearby, don’t take it for granted - The Body Lab is a gem!

This is my favorite Lagree and strength training workout in Kansas City! Having spent the last 10 years taking Lagree classes regularly in NYC, I can honestly say that Mike and Jena are two of the best instructors I’ve ever had. They constantly introduce new, more challenging exercises, so you never have to worry about plateauing. Both are such cool instructors and always break up the hard work with witty, funny commentary. If you haven’t taken one of their classes or have plateaued at other Lagree-style studios, I highly recommend trying a class at The Body Lab! Pro tip: the Leawood location has brand-new MegaPro machines with fun adjustment options that keep the exercises interesting and add challenging variations. I’m so glad I’ve found my regular workout studio here since relocating to Kansas City!

I have been taking classes at Body Lab for 9 years and I’ve found it to be the best exercise to build core strength, lean muscle, and flexibility, and contribute to overall good health. The owners Jena and Mike and all instructors are motivational and care about giving a good workout for the time you are investing and support different ability levels. I like it that it can be a fun and challenging workout at the same time. I am so glad I come to Body Lab!

I’ve been going to The Body Lab for 2 years, and I’m so thankful that I found this incredible studio! The Body Lab uses the megaformer to create a full body workout that is adaptable to all fitness levels and ages. The owners, Jena and Mike Green, are amazing and have developed a studio that has the most fabulous instructors in Kansas City! Each instructor with whom I have taken a class is incredibly well trained and is knowledgeable about muscle groups and how to achieve the best results with each move. There are numerous ways to adapt the difficulty of a move, and the instructors will often cue those modifications. In each class, there might be a mixture of people who have taken over 1,000 classes and others who are there for the first time, yet everyone will feel that they have gotten a great workout. If you want a boot camp type workout, this is NOT for you. You will never be yelled at, but rather encouraged in a positive way to give it your all. This workout is HARD, but doable for all. You might shake, your muscles might scream, you might question if you can continue to hold a position or pulse up and down, but it’s always up to you. A wonderful bonus is the amazing Body Lab community! I have made some valued friends and actually look forward to the days I get to go work out! I love this place!

This place is amazing. I have gained so much muscle from this and my running endurance and recovery has Improved a ton. I feel way more toned and the best part is I look forward to working out. All the coaches are amazing. HIGHLY recommend!

Today marks my 8 year anniversary of working out at The Bodylab in Leawood. I try to workout 3 days/week at TBL and I cannot say that any workout has not been challenging! Owners Michael and Jena, and ALL of the trainers are positive, motivating, kind, and supportive. For me this workout is excellent for overall body strength, core work, and concentrating on each muscle group.

Body Lab is the only group class I’ve loved and wanted to commit to. The classes fly by, instructors are amazing and always changing things up to challenge you, and you quickly see a transformation in your strength. Mike was amazing. I unknowingly booked an expert class, but him and the other women were so helpful and did not make me feel inferior. I could literally cry because they were so welcoming and kind. I will be back but at beginner level lol

I went to my first Pilates class ever with Jena Green and it was amazing! I was super nervous to try it but, the other students were very welcoming and friendly. Jena was very helpful and patient in teaching me through the class. It was very challenging but, I felt great afterwards and would highly suggest this studio!

I’ve been a repeat customer for years at BodyLab- the workouts are challenging and you’ll never get the same workout twice! The owners Mike and Jena are accommodating, professional, and welcoming to all. One of my yoga teachers convinced me to give this place a try and I’m so glad I did! If I could leave 0 stars unfortunately I would. I would not recommend The Body Lab for those of color. One would think this environment is inclusive. The uncomfortableness that the two co-owners Jena and Michael give is distasteful. May as well stay at home for the kind of treatment this location provides.

If you’re a POC don’t waste your time! They’ll tell you over and over how welcomed you are but their actions will quickly prove to you otherwise. Save yourself the trouble and look for MoveWithNicole or IsaWelly on YouTube to avoid the micro aggressions and gaslighting

If you love a good gym, beware of this one! I've been attending this gym for a couple of months and am disappointed at the unprofessionalism and just bad advice from trainers. I've experienced micro-aggression racism as well as being told to “come back when I figure it out.” When reporting the incidents to the gym, I received excuses like "they didn't mean it maliciously.” This place is a red flag. If they are comfortable with poor public professionalism, I recommend not sticking around to find out what they do when no one is looking.

I LOVE these workouts. We've been doing them for almost a year and no two sessions have been the same. I have yet to have an instructor who wasn't awesome and I ALWAYS feel amazing after the sessions. They are challenging, but certainly doable and low impact enough to do multiple in a week and still augment with other workouts if you desire. It's true what everyone says, Pilates CHANGES your body. Love the Lagree and the Body Lab.

Lagree fitness is an amazing low impact, full body workout. Co-owners, Jena and Michael Green, along with their staff, provide creative, safe instruction. I was a runner/walker, therefore had minimal upper body strength. I quickly noticed improvement not only in my upper body, but my entire body strength. I am 77 years of age...the benefits i have received from this Lagree Fitness method, at Body Lab, have become very important to my health and wellbeing.

I love the Body Lab as my main workout. I go three times a week and it really changed my body. I used to do HIIT workouts a various places with lots of jumping. I feel like this workout is just has hard, but not hard on my joints. I have been to a few different pilates places, but this lagree form is a lot harder and more effective!!

I have had consistently positive experiences at Body Lab over the last 2 years that I have been going to classes. The workouts are superb -- the coaches are professional and offer modifications to raise/lower intensity based on individual fitness levels so everyone can have a positive and challenging experience. I appreciate that the owners teach class and clearly care for their members as well as fitness experience. Try it once - you'll be hooked!!!!

This is the best workout for anyone who has done it all and needs a challenge. Every workout is different, and the instructors help modify anything if you are having an issue or need to ease into it. The owners are amazing to work with. I’ve been going to body lab for over 3 years and during that time I had to have 2 surgeries. Jena was wonderful to work with. She put my membership on hold until I was ready to come back but more importantly really helped me with all the modifications during the workouts that I needed for my abdominal and tendinitis surgeries. Love this place and the workouts!

I highly recommend reading the fine print. Getting out of a membership is close to impossible and their customer service is fair at best. They continue to auto withdraw from my account even though I’m not even a member. Quite frankly their business practices should be reported.
