I started attending the original Underground Lab in Lawrence 6 years ago when they first opened and haven't stopped going since! Even when I moved to Olathe, I would make the 25 minute drive on K-10 each day. Now I attend the fitmods at the Overland Park location. I can honestly say that I'm in the best shape of my life! And I'm only getting stronger each day thanks to the encouragement of the coaches at the Lab. I also love the support I get from the other UGL members. Each and every workout is challenging but oh so fun! I've tried other workouts around the area when the Lab class schedule doesn't work with mine, but I never feel quite as accomplished as I do after a Lab workout. If you're considering trying out a class, I highly recommend you do it. You'll be hooked!

Joined The Lab in January 2016 and my only regret is not joining earlier. It's more than a gym, everyone is very supportive of each other and the trainers genuinely care about everyone's progress. The workouts are challenging but fun, not repetitive at all. I can't see myself going back to any other gym.

Such an awesome gym! Class sizes are relatively small so you can get one-on-one help from the trainers. The workouts involve a mixture of cardio and strength and each day is something new and challenging. If you are looking to get serious about fitness, this gym is definitely for you!

The Underground Lab is the best gym in Kansas City! If you are looking for results this is the place you should be. I joined the Lab in August 2014 and have had the most success. What you get at the Lab is more than you could ever hope for at a gym. The Coaches are the BEST, the meal plan is easy to understand and something anyone can stick too, and the workouts are designed to make you stronger, faster and better. The people at the Lab are friendly and supportive. Come join us for a module (group workout), it will be the best hour of your day, guarantee.

I started at UGL in January 2015, in the few short months I have been a member has been amazing! I started to see change within a very short period of time. The trainers are so supportive, knowledgeable, welcoming, and want better for you! The nutritional information that they give you is easy to understand and fits into any lifestyle. I began working out at the Underground Lab in October 2014. I had not worked out in almost two years and my prior workout experiences included a gym where I did my own cardio and Jazzercise. Within two weeks of starting at UGL I knew this was the place for me. Their SPE system works great as well as the nutritional information they share. The coaches do a great job individualizing the workouts. Over the months they have given me the tools to lose weight, gain strength and confidence, and become an overall healthier person. I have seen amazing results with the help of the UGL team. Their customer service is prompt and friendly. Best gym around!

I have been a part of the Underground Lab community for 3 years and I was ecstatic when they decided to open up shop in Overland Park. This is not your standard gym. Yes, it will get you moving and working toward your fitness goals, but it is much more than that! It is a community of support, encouragement, and friendship and I look forward to my workouts here. Each person at The Lab comes in at different points in their lives and with different fitness goals. Regardless of your goal, this gym is a place where others are there to cheer you on for whatever you are working toward. Not only will you get a butt-kicking workout each time you go, but the trainers are also available to answer health and fitness questions and provide nutritional support. The trainers are highly educated and passionate about their work and will always promote safety, whether that is correcting your form during an exercise or teaching you stretching or foam rolling techniques. The atmosphere is welcoming and the workouts are varied each day so it never becomes boring. I have seen incredible results since I started working out with The Underground Lab community and canβt imagine working out anywhere else!

The Underground Lab in Overland Park is a very cool and intimate facility. They are very personable and free from any judgment. Everyone is very supportive of one another and Michael and Fernando are very welcoming and professional.
The place is small but you'd be surprised at how much intense work you can accomplish here.
The Fitness Modules are awesome! I highly recommend those. The training sessions are all different, but they follow a very specific and scientific approach. If you're into lifting weights, endurance work, and overall conditioning this place is for you!
I highly recommend this place!
P.S - Don't just go to one session because it took me about 3-4 sessions to start getting the hang of it.

The Underground Lab is amazing! All of the trainers are knowledgable & friendly; they do a great job of correcting form and encouraging progress. They make you want to learn more & work harder with every workout. The variety of workouts is astounding, I have yet to do the same workout twice! I always leave exhausted & yet feeling great.

-The trainers are all super encouraging and good at what they do. I've mostly worked with Melissa and have only had positive experiences. I've also worked with Lindsey and had all positives with her, too.
- The workouts are all well planned out for greatest effect. I have always felt that I got a good workout.
- I love the unique atmosphere. There is nothing sterile or impersonal about this place.
- I love the personal attention. When I walk in I am greeted personally and Melissa makes a real effort to know our names.

They have a great variety of equipment at UGL to work on any aspect of your personal fitness. The trainers all make an effort to learn your name, even for the larger fitness classes. The workouts will test you, and along with encouragement from the trainers, will push you to do more than you thought you were capable of. All of the people who workout there are friendly and working hard to improve their overall fitness level. I'd definitely recommend it!

The underground lab is an amazing place. There is so much opportunity to increase your fitness no matter what level you are at. The amount of equipment is perfect for both the classes and if you want to come in and workout on your own. It is very different than an average gym because of the variety offered. I really enjoy how no two classes are the same. It keeps my muscles guessing. I've also learned many different moves and techniques that I could do outside of the fitness modules.
On a technical note, I am really impressed with the website and the new app! Accessibility is key and those tools make it really easy. Thanks guys!

The UGL, what can I say? This place is pretty awesome. I've been going to the UGL for about 2 months. In the past I had never done workouts that made me excited to think about coming back for the next one. The trainers at the UGL change up the workouts constantly so I never get bored and they make me thirsty for more! I love that they have different types of training environments to get you where you want to be, whether it be one-on-one training, group class training or small group personal training. The studio has everything I need to get in shape and I personally love that it's NOT air conditioned because I know that the calories I'm burning off and the sweat that's dripping off me is going to excel me to my personal goals. AND it makes the workout that much more intense!
The community here is also uplifting, I've had no problems convincing friends to come give it a try because they know from my experience that everyone here is here to work hard each and every workout.
Give it a try! You will get hooked...

One of the most important things I love about UGL, the trainers and community is that it has made me push myself to limits that I didn't think possible. In the past, I have given up when things got too hard during workouts, but just knowing that I have a community behind me pushing me to finish makes me want to complete every workout. I also love that each workout is different and I never know what the day will bring. I have more motivation than I've had in many years. I finally found the type of workouts and community that push me in the positive direction I need to succeed and reach my goals.

UGL workouts are very creative , challenging and FUN. They are tailored to individual fitness levels. You never get bored doing the same routines .UGL team is very encouraging and supportive. Everyone gets individual attention from the trainer in group workouts too.UGL Lab is a great environment and they have very good state-of-the art equipment for individuals to do work outs on their own. If you have a GOAL, UGL has a PLAN.

I've been working out at UnderGround Lab for about 3 months now, and I have been having a great time. The modules are fun and different; the staff and trainers are all very encouraging and seem to know you by name after 2 sessions, so you feel like a person even in the large groups. UGL keeps things fresh with every session - no mod I've been to has been the same! I also appreciate how they have different challenges that you can choose to partake in - it keeps things interesting, and encourages you to work-out or pay attention to nutrition more than you might on your own. Their style and methods are what I needed to get my rear in gear post-partum.

UGL has completely changed my perception about physical fitness & training. I have never been so motivated and eager to carry out intense work out regime as I am now...much thanks to UGL!!! At first the fitness modules seemed very intense and hard, but now that I am enjoying each and every Fit Mods, I want more! Before I joined UGL, I used to wake up grumpy and tired but now I wake up happy, especially watching myself over at the scale; my muscles are much more toned! I love UGL for their excellent work ethic, their sincere care for their clients, creative work out sessions, and awesome studio. Another thing I would like to add about the Fit Mods is, whenever I am tired and unable to push myself, I looks at the team and they inspire me to achieve my goals. I love this group effort! Finally, I would highly recommend UGL to everybody who are ready to take it to a different level!

What I like about the UnderGround Lab is it feel like a family. Everybody is friendly, if you go to other gym you feel like no one cares about you. I also love how people in courage you to do better. I also love that when you doing something wrong the trainers will come over to you show how to do it right. I think the best thing is it the best workout I have every got at any gym. No gym has never made me feel the way this make me feel.

As someone who often gets bored with workout routines and tired of the traditional gym atmosphere, I cannot say enough good things about the Underground Lab.The fitness modules are always innovative, progressive, and really rewarding! No matter what fitness level you are at the environment is welcoming and fun. You get a lot of personalized attention even in the groups and the trainers really do make a point to know your name. I always look forward to going and feel great when I leave (which is not the case with other gyms/classes I have tried). The workouts are a challenge but always varied, creative, and certainly effective

I have trained with Chris at UGL for 3 months. During that time I have gone from wondering whether personal training was worth the money to wondering how I ever got along without my UGL trainer. Chris coaches with a great combination of warm encouragement combined with no nonsense pushing for more than I think I have in me. Usually I find that there's more in there than I thought! I love working out and am motivated to do so by myself. But Chris pushes me to work harder and to try things I wouldn't do by myself. He makes it more fun by always coming up with creative exercises and circuits that are tailored to my goals -- and not just self-articulated goals either. He notices my weaknesses and targets them. Chris has a lot of training expertise to share and is attuned to the idiosyncrasies of his clients. UGL has some cool toys (equipment) I had never used before, but I've also realized how much training can be done with no equipment at all when one has such a creative trainer. UGL is not the biggest or fanciest looking place in town, but if you get to know the people and try out their style of training, you will not be disappointed! I just signed up for 12 more months of personal training.

Like a lot of guys, I had been going to the gym for decades, tweaking my workout by doing a little reading, watching what other guys did and improvising. But basically, I was stuck, and sensed that my workouts could be a lot better. I was right. In four months at UGL I've become a lot more fit. I notice it during the workouts, but also doing other things like yoga, biking, moving furniture, or bounding up a flight of stairs. It's a great rush discovering you've got toned muscle where you didn't even know a human being has muscle. I got more power, and a new sense of muscular control.
Chris's workouts are fast-paced and balanced, and they have lots and lots of variety. I especially like Chris's emphasis on good form, core strength and functional fitness (rather than show muscles).
