Genesis bought this so since friend works there I went there today.... to see it its bigger than I expected and busier than any genesis I been in yet but then again I try to sneak in too but I'm well known at most locations. But I don't socialize much until work is done...but looked at pool today.... yes I do lots of laps so looking into that...swimming has toned me quicker than anything else has.

It's a shame Genesis owns the place now.
Since they suspended all the training programs, it's time to pack up.
Though I'll say this - in the time I was there, I lost 40 pounds and rebuilt it back as muscle.

Vasa is very similar to Golds gym for a fraction of the price. They have nice equipment and lots of space. The staff is very friendly, especially Natalia.
Edit: I use vasa for it's basketball court, but they haven't had nets on the rims for months now and it's pretty disappointing.

Love the price and convenience of location, however, it is ALWAYS so BUSY! I am the type of person who likes my own space when working out, and that is super hard at the Harry location. You spend a lot of your workout time wandering around looking for equipment or to see if a machine is available. I think another location needs to be opened up in the area. I also kinda hate the hours, especially on the weekends. Why not just be open until at least 11 pm (midnight would be better for me) every day of the week??

So, if you sign up for personal training and your spouse is seriously injured at work and you call them to put a pause on training, they email you about it to get a confirmation, and if you don't respond because you didn't check your email because you are busy with your spouse's injury, they charge you anyway and refuse to refund you. Because it's a contract payment. Do not go here, do not sign up for anything contract wise with them.

TLDR: Very nice facility, but please don't mess around with my money.

Nice equipment and environment, good classes and amenities, but as many of the low reviews point out, they aren't very transparent and sometimes will be intentionally deceptive. When I signed up I was told personal training was included in my membership no extra cost, they implied that it was free, but of course it wasn't. When I decided to do it anyway I signed up for the 3 months. Imagine my shock when I was charged for a 4th month. No one had told me that I had to notify them 30 days ahead of time. They just told me it was over in 3 months. Be careful about using direct deposit. It's cheaper than card, but after 6 months of having to call them every month bc they weren't taking my payments out on time, they applied a late fee out of nowhere (even though they didn't take it out of my account on time). When I called to ask why, they said they had been waiving the late fees that whole time, but nobody ever told me there were late fees at all. (Again, the only reason I was late was because they never pulled the money out of my account on time, not because I paid late.) Just decided to pay the extra 2 dollars to pay by card instead of dealing with the hassle of direct deposit.

Overall, it's still the best price in my area for the amenities and quality of equipment, but if you can afford a more honest gym, go that route. I'm not saying don't sign up with VASA, I'm just saying to be careful about any contracts with them. make sure you know all the ins and outs of your membership and know some of the people there will tell you anything to get you to sign up.

Good things, everything is pretty clean, equipment is kept up well, the crowd there knows gym etiquette for the most part, there's a movie theater and massage chairs, wet and dry sauna, and a nice class schedule with good teachers.

Also, it'd be nice if KidCare could open back up. I'd like to be able to work out with my regular gym partner again.

After looking around at other gyms here in town I decided on Vasa, So far I am glad I did! I will say I signed up at the north location and have been a couple times, I am am a little disappointed. I do not find the staff there very friendly, There cell phones seam to be pretty important! I like the location on George Town much better. Every one seams to enjoy being there weather working or working out.

Place is clean with some unique equipment but is seriously lacking in free weight plates. If the location on Harry Street is even slightly busy you spend half your time looking for plates, and if you want to use kettlebells, tough, you have to pay extra. It's convenient because of my work but overall I am disappointed. I you go real early or during work hours it's ok.

Been a member for 2 years and the team members are so helpful and friendly. Has the same amount of machines and activities as YMCA for a much better price. Facility is well cleaned and Sanitized. Machines are high quality from the sauna and steam room.

Extremely poor experience. I had heard about membership promotions that they were advertising, so I called up both local locations to request info. The employees all clearly explained to me that I would have to be there by 8 am on 11/26 to obtain the offer, so I arrived an hour early to ensure success. After trying to register in person, I was told a manager would contact me later that day to finalize the membership . However, nobody ever tried to call me. I contacted them the following week eager to complete everything and was met with refusal on management’s end to assist me and rudely brushed off. This COMPLETELY contradicts what was advertised and I cannot believe how unwilling they are to take responsibility and show a basic level of customer service. They will mislead and lie to you. VASA is a complete scam and absolute joke of a company. HORRIBLE.

I'm using the pool for low impact on my busted hip. Exercising and dieting to lose weight for upcoming surgery. All ages go here but have never seen young children. Facility is clean and the employees are helpful and attentive. They have all the machines a person could want, tanning, training, basketball, racket ball, massaging machines much more. I'm very happy with Vasa.

I've been a member with Vasa since they were Golds Gym in Salt Lake. Moved here to Wichita Nov 2019 and continued my membership with Vasa. I was happy til recently they changed their closing time on Sat from 11 pm to 9 pm. I have a tight work schedule and I love coming on Fri amd Sat nights because it isn't as crowded. There was no communication about the changing hours. This gym is forgetting who keeps the gym open and that's the members. I have been a member with Vasa longer then they have been in Wichita and they aren't catering to their crowd. If this doesn't change I will find another gym. They are ignoring that customers want the gym open later. When you ask the emoloyees why the change in schedule, they blame it on check ins. Of course no one is checking in an hour before the gym closes. A lot of customers are now going to Genesis and Anytime fitness. If they extended their hours they would gain the late clientele. Dissapointed!

Love everything that's in that gym from 1st free personal training . Massage beds, spa , big restrooms, and showers . Also has a pool and I guess a jacuzzi. They also have different classes like zumba and other fitness classes and a big room theater with diffrent machines . Everything you look for in a gym . Cardio and machines I love it

We just joined and we are so impressed. Everyone is so helpful and pleasant, the facilities are just immaculate, the options are almost endless. I have degenerative disc disease and immediately had someone to talk with who had a background in physical therapy and totally understood my limitations. The theatre room is fantastic. We truly couldn’t be any happier with VASA.

Honestly a decent gym, good people in the gym. Some select staff members are a bit "meh." It would be nice to know that all the memberships don't have guest' privilege's before hand. That way I am not surprised when I am told I have to pay an additional $15/month on top of the $23 something, personally believe that $36/ month is outrageous but whatever. Of course I could just drop a membership level. I am just stating that communication is key if you want to keep your clients.

Nice equiment and turf. However, they need longer hours that is making me reconsider membership. Also don't like how they lock the doors before closing time. One time I went to run to get something from my car and then found myself standing outside waiting to be let in and they told me "we're about to close" when there was still at least 15 mins left and my bag was inside. Also I know fitness classes may be limited to the instructors' schedule, however it would be nice if they would do a survey for those that actually want to take them about their availability.

Why are they closing earlier on Saturday and closing even earlier on Sunday???.....this is so inconvenient for so many people and you would think the weekends would be open more than the week days....I don’t understand and it’s frustrating I have to go pay a day pass at another gym when I should be able to workout at the gym I’m already paying for !!

**update** the hours have not changed. Still same horrible gym hours. They have no basketballs (which I’m paying for) to use because they all have been out used and are starting to bubble out on each side. The gym is packed so you can’t find a good time to go that allows you to use equipment in the timely manner you wish to. So now you have to buy your own basketball on top of paying for one of theirs if you want to play. Idk I’m just about done with the gym. Genesis and the Y I’m hoping allows more time in the gyms.

When I signed up there was NO personal attention given by staff. The following week I met a "personal" trainer to get some goals set. Again "NO" personal attention. My workout area was infringed upon by another trainer and client. No regards to social distancing! Reported to manager and was set up for another session with trainer he recommended. Ended up being the same guy who pushed his way into my first session. I recruited a call a couple days later by the manager in regards to the second appointment. He doubled booked another person with me and wanted me to switch times! This place is a joke!!!

I signed up for vasa when it first opened.. I have gone intermittently but everytime I finally get back into working out, it is always just as good as before... the staff are super friendly. The facility is always clean.. you dont have the loud, cramped feeling you get at the ymca and my child (though closed for covid) loves going to the kid care... not to mention the cardio cinema room! Where someone like me who doesn't love cardio can work out and stay motivated on a machine by enjoying a big screen movie...and nothing is more rewarding then ending your work out on a massage bed!!!!

When I signed up I had only a couple concerns. I liked the $10/month price point but, specifically asked about annual fees and cancellation fees. I was told there was no annual fees and no cancellation fees after 6 months. I signed based on the assumption (I know) that I could trust their representative's word. I was wrong.

At the 1 year point I saw a fee MUCH higher than the monthly fee appear on my account. Side note...I had beem meaning to cancel over the last couple months as the membership was no longer convenient or used. Upon seeing the charge I called to speak with management.

Long story short, they did not care what I had been told and made no efforts to resolve the matter, or to end the relationship on a positive note. Summation: Honesty and transparency is clearly of no value to them as a company.

Unrelated but relative, their App never worked and constantly had issues with login and access.

I have to admit that I loved going to this gym before COVID. Sadly the company stuck to their corporate policies and cancelation fees, doing very little to accommodate the gym members amidst a pandemic. I can easily say that I regret ever joining, its just not worth the headache😔

I just took a strong by Zumba class with Ramona Guy. I was a little nervous but she walked me through all the moves. Broke them down so I would feel comfortable. This is a 30 minute crazy good workout. Gotta check out this class!
