Edit: I have tried calling multiple times and have sent 3 messages (3rd one was just sent moments before initiating this edit) via the Nicholasville Website in regards to my desire of cancelling my membership. (I moved to Richmond.) It has been weeks since the first attempt, and I have not heard anything back. No emails in my spam folder. No voicemail. No text. Nothing. I have been recovering from surgery and cannot visit the facility to cancel and have stated this in my attempted correspondence. I cannot afford to keep paying for something that I am not using. My experience during my time there was great. However, I am dropping the review to one star until someone contacts and helps me cancel my membership.

I signed a contract with this gym and that contracted ended in Oct of 2021. Even though the contract ended, I needed to go in person sign that I didn’t want to continue my membership- I was annoyed but understood so I’ve been trying to go up there since December of 2021 to sign so they would terminate my contract and stop taking money from my account each month- EVERY SINGLE TIME IVE GONE IN PERSON THE LAST FOUR MONTHS no one has been there! No one has answered my calls, no one has responded to my emails. They continue to take my money. I’ve contacted corporate who tel me that their gyms are privately owned and they are unable to do anything about this. Please do not joking this gym. There are several other facilities that are just as good if not better for the same price or cheaper and with staff who actually work and willing to help. I’ve gotten my attorney involved.

I can easily say Anytime Fitness in Nicholasville has been my favorite gym I’ve ever been a member of. I feel so at home while I’m working out there and the staff is always friendly/always helpful.

I also started training with Chris and it has CHANGED MY LIFE. Highly recommend!

No complaints before the pandemic. Place was clean, rarely crowded, and a generally pleasant atmosphere. Could do with less news on the TVs, but that goes for any gym, and is more a fault of the older members than staff.

During COVID-19 they withheld membership fees and did free webcam 1-on-1 personal training, so that's pretty good. Only complaint I have is that my personal trainer I'd been working with for several months left the company and nobody bothered to tell me, even after I left voice mails on the office machine asking why I haven't been reached out to for more sessions. Still, with all the clusterf involved with reopening I'll let them slide a bit. Just bums me out that I was left high and dry. Hopefully they'll still offer something good while the pandemic is still going on despite business reopening.

Only gym I know that makes you sign a contract that locks you in for a year membership. When you cancel you have to pay the balance left your membership. I thought contracts were a thing of the past for gyms?

They didn't even tell me they was switching my contract to month to month when they did I told them I wanted to cancel they then keep taking money out of my account. When they finally decided to make me sign papers to cancel, they didn't inform me that their was a $50 cancel fee. They told me I would get a refund because I tried to cancel many of times but their employees didn't listen. I tried to get a refund for about 1 and a half and then finally called today and they told me that their "billing company" wouldn't give me a refund and that they would just wipe the slate clean. This has been the worst experience I have ever dealt with involving a company.

I was in the gym taking selfies. So many selfies when suddenly it dawned on me: Because all the walls are covered in mirrors so if you stand in just the right place you can see the reflection of your reflection. In other words, the opposite of how one normally sees themselves, but how the rest of the world sees them always. I'm no longer sure who I even am. Talk about an existential crisis.

I dealt with this crisis the way any adult man would. I went and hid in the bathroom. Which was totally fine, I give the bathrooms 4 stars on their hideability rating, but then I washed my hands and...attempted to dry them using the provided paper towel roll. It is a perforated roll loaded into perforating dispenser. So the maximum amount of paper towel that is ever dispensed is a 1 by 1 inch square. This experience ranks slightly above trying to clean up a spilled mountain dew with toilet paper. But barely. This whole problem could have been avoided if they put a sign on the paper towel dispenser saying, "make sure hands are completly dry before attempting to use this paper towel dispenser. Set feet to 3 and 6 o'clock and bend slightly at the knees and pull the paper exactly perpendicular to the floor at no more than one newton with force originating in the core." Simple solution to the wrong paper being being sadisticly loaded into the dispenser.

A few other tidbits about this place: the clientel is different depending on the time of day. Just before sunrise=cops and people training in earnest for something. Just after sunrise= retirees morning= stay at home mom's and second shifters around noon=college students and the guys who work out for lunch afternoon=hapless millenials early evening is a zoo=beefed up maniacs chest bumping everybody, women in full on makeup going .7mph on the treadmill. Afterward comes the world's slowest runner and the guy who takes 40 minutes of vape breaks.

All and all, it's a good place.

As a member of multiple gyms in the past and someone who has been lifting weights since I was 13 years old, I haven't ever had a better experience than what I have at Anytime. The staff is extremely friendly, supportive of your goals, professional and offer help in any way they can. Also as a side note, as someone who is in a wheelchair such as myself but still enjoys and needs to be able to lift, the staff have been extremely accommodating and always give me any assistance that I may need. The employees don't just feel like staff to me, they feel like family.

I joined this club when it opened about 2 years ago. I have noticed the club has been slipping a bit in equipment maintenance - that's a problem for most gyms. Treadmills are getting a lot of use. I have reported minor issues to the management and they were fixed. Overall the club meets my needs and the management has been responsive to the issues I have raised. The cost is around $36 a month and they have free weights, treadmills, ellipticals etc.
