This morning at about 5:30 AM I was working out at Berea Fitness at 501 Mount Vernon Road, Berea, KY 40403 when two white males accosted me. The white male about 6’ 2” about 210 pounds in his 40s in a menacing tone and much too close to me told me to stop sending his “wife” emails and letters that were “inappropriate.” I believe this person’s name is Jason Lespet. The other white male said nothing but was within my personal space which was likewise menacing.

I have no clue what Jason Lespet is talking about. I don’t know him. I don’t know his wife. I have effectively never spoken to either of them. I have no internet presence; therefore, I have no way of knowing home addresses nor email addresses.

Jason Lespet’s crazy behavior and accusations, invasion of my personal space and his size caused me reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury as he is several inches taller and 20 to 30 pounds heavier and many years younger as well has making crazy accusations about something I know nothing about. I am a 75-year-old white male 5” 10’ tall and 185 pounds.

I am apprehensive of possible physical injury because I routinely go to Berea Fitness at about the same time as Jason Lespet.

I appreciate your investigation, contacting the gym and subject.
If the subject exhibits menacing behavor again, I will contact the Sheriff's office with the intent of prosecuting the subject.

I will ask the owner to cancel the subects membership.

Great atmosphere respectful people this gym also works with the fitness pass but you must sign up during business hours then 24/7 you can go when you like which is the best part of the experience it gives you no excuses to go they also have plenty of trainers and activities to choose from come on down and check them out

Do not bother. They say it's 24/7 but you can't cancel your membership 24/7 and there is no option to cancel thru the app. I even canceled before my next due date but because I had to "fill out the cancelation form" I still owed them 31 dollars of course. Great way to swindle that last 30 bucks out of people..... Horrible way to retain customers. I will not be a repeat customer. Besides all of this... the gym is very small and feels claustrophobic. The staff is rude and never helpful. There is a broken vending machine just sitting in the main lobby. The machines are all piled right on top of each other it feels like.

Not a classy establishment. You're better off at planet fitness or somewhere else.

The one pro about this place: people leave you alone when you workout.

Also... the owners are VERY insecure people. They reply to every negative review.

I'm (still) impressed with the assortment of equipment available. The owners and employees are all friendly that I've met so far. Some of the equipment and the gym itself have app tracking options. The group classes on their schedule are pretty diverse in my opinion, and they're very open to beginners. I'm quite happy with this new membership. I even find it cool that kids can be added to the membership once they're 12 or older, now if only I could convince my preteen to exercise with me. Personally, I'm excited for their weight loss coaching add-on. The personal training they offer is a great price as well. They have an app that you earn points when you exercise or take a class, and you can sync many fitness trackers with this. The points can be exchanged for a variety of things. I really enjoy going here, and I don't feel looked down on because of my size.

I've been going here for 2 years now & let me tell yah this place is wonderful! The owners Veronica & Don are amazing, kind, and caring people. They go above and beyond at what they do! The equipment is awesome, it's a very laid back space which is great for me where I have anxiety! It's a judgemental free zone! I absolutely love this gym, to me it was heaven sent!

This place is great!! It is locally owned and operated so you feel like family there. I have been going for 4 years now and couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
Rates here are way better than anywhere else. They provide a variety of classes, a variety of machines, free child care and free tanning!!

I am in from Virginia and needed to work out This is a great place to workout. They have so many options for all fitness levels. The employees are so kind and encouraging. The people were amazing. It is so reasonably priced and they even have many healthy food and drink options. It was nice to grab a protein shake while I was there. Keep moving forward. 💪💪💪

Staff is friendly, place is always kept clean. Great place to workout! Tanning beds are some of the hottest I’ve been in. Child care is magnificent, my children beg to go and play!

I have tried multiple gyms and finally found this one. The owners are very friendly and the trainers/instructors are amazing. The gym provides plenty of different types of equipment and also has a variety of group classes. Highly recommend!

Berea is fortunate to have a gym like this! The quantity & diversity of the equipment is unparalleled in Berea (or any town the size of Berea!) Plenty free weights & cardio equipment for those into strength training, bodybuilding, cardio, etc. Could use a couple more pieces of specialized weight training equipment (like a squat rack & a spider curl station & a few pieces need minor repairs. Could also use some new wall fans too. They have an ice machine that was great for tossing a few ice cubes in your shake, but it’s not worked for a while. (My buddies miss that a bunch) The 24/7 access is fantastic & has plenty security cameras for safety, so I wouldn’t be worried about my girlfriend being there alone or with a couple of her friends, even during nighttime hours. It’s well lit, too! Wish we could have locker rooms though. The people are friendly, down to earth, & awesome, just as you’d expect in small town Kentucky! The customers are also great! Nobody complains if you grunt while lifting, they’re courteous if on the rare occasion they have to wait on a piece of equipment & the experienced folk are more than glad to offer tips without making you feel silly, so feel free to ask the big guy how to do something & odds are he’ll be happy to show you or spot you, or let you “work in” if you both need the same bench or machine! It’s a home-town atmosphere & filled with home-town folks! Prices are good, especially for the size of the gym. They do this by having good quality equipment, which may not be shiny & new, but work just fine, even if they’re not all painted in shiny, bright, matching colors. Brand new equipment that’s been bought from a single source do look great, but they make for high overhead which would make a gym this size unaffordable in a small town like Berea! I’ve personally seen the owners pop in during the middle of the night to tidy up the gym! It’s always clean! Oh, & they have free WiFi & free tanning booths!! Even in a big city, I’d have given it 4 stars, but for Berea, it’s definitely five out of five stars!

I absolutely loved the atmosphere here! I came from Iowa to visit family friends here in Berea KY and decided to work out while I was here. I love testing my limits and fitness in general and this place was awesome with challenging me! Thank you for the friendly service and the challenging work out.

Old machines that don't work. Tanning machines old but as they told me they put new bulbs in them. It's just wierd you have to pull a huge switch down and the machine make a loud roar noice. If you try to complain you get cut down on facebook and anyway they can. My opinion is run. I only went 4 times to this gym it was so bad. I was very dissatisfied so i just cut my loses and didn't go back.

Very poorly run. They are all friendly and rush you through the signup process without giving you all the facts, then when you try to cancel they inform you that one of those 10 initials on the back saying you read the small print say there a 90 day cancel policy. Any place that needs to keep charging you for 3 months after you cancel should try to figure out why they would need a policy like that. They just want to get every last dollar out of you that they can.

And you'll want to cancel.... They don't take care of the equipment, or the building. Paint and drywall peeling off the walls. A sewer system so bad that you can't flush toilet paper.... seriously????? Like I want to go into a tiny rundown bathroom only to find a trashcan full of toilet paper and feces......GROSS!!!!! If you plan on riding a stationary bike, just give that hope up....the pedals will be broken, or the straps missing and/or broken. Save your money, for a few bucks more you get a lot nicer place at Anytime Fitness.
