Completely unprofessional and unhelpful. Charged me a total of $103 over the course of 3 months after my cancellation, despite my cancellation document stating: “Balance Due: $0.” Do not sign up for Crunch. They are the scummiest gym in the business.

Tried to sign up for a membership. Per their website, military personnel get $0 enrollment fee + $3 off per month. Showed my id.me proof - gym would not honor any discounts.

Nice to see that Crunch supports military personnel. It’s right on their website - if they’re not going to honor the discount, probably should take it down as that’s false advertising?

Ended up joining another gym that does help the military. The hell with Crunch.

I have been coming here since March 2025, and unfortunately I will be cancelling my membership as soon as I join a new gym. I love the gym, love all the equipment and stations they have, and the layout. But as much as I love it, the LOUD, unbearable music is a big enough deal breaker for me. The place has zero awareness of how bad it is apparently.

I go late at night, usually it's me and 4-5 other guys in there. No one wants to hear that generic, souless, awful music, and especially not that loud. It's the most "non-workout" workout music you will ever hear. I can't even classify the genre, I guess if I had to describe it I would call it "music to sail a boat to" or "music to nap to". It's 2025, everyone wears earbuds anyway, there's no need for piped in music.

But here is the problem, the music is so loud that I have to turn my earbuds all the way up, damage my eardrums...and it still does not block out their music. Yep, it's that loud. Why?? It makes for a very unpleasant workout environment.

There's no way they don't get hundreds of complaints, so they obviously don't care. So...I'll handle it by leaving and cancelling. It's ridiculous lol.

Horrible service , staff is rude and not helpful for two straight months they have taken over $100 dollars from my account. After taking $43 I asked to cancel my account and not take anymore money. They told me they would put my account on hold and not charge until I come to cancel then boom $101 dollar charge last month, I called for a refund and the manager refused even though I already tried to cancel and have never ever used the facility ever because the sign up was done by someone else. I wake up today with another charge for the same amount. Do not sign up with Crunch they will try drain you dry from account with fraudulent charges.

Beware this place is fraudulent, I cancelled 2 months ago and even got a refund, I've still been charged every single month, today they even started making numbers up, I was charged 48$ which is just a random number, I don't think it's legal at this point, surly they can't charge me for the rest of my life and how are they just charging me something different every time, I'm getting angry and fed up now not to mention the robbery,I'll be getting a hold of the fraud department at my bank and seeking legal action, I've never even stepped foot in the place....... apparently this is the only way to get a response from the owner, Ally said the cancellation just didn't go through,a past due balance would have made sense with the $30 y'all stole in September, but what is the $48 from October 14th is that past due balance as well or is that you just continuing to steal my money?

Signed up online in May, never used it so I attempted to cancel and was always told I had to come in,in August my wife called and spoke to Ally and was told the membership had been cancelled, I got a $90 refund,in September I was charged another $30, I was like ok maybe it's some kind of last fee, well than this month I get charged $48 don't know where that number came from, that was just made up, I know it wasn't a past due balance or I wouldn't have been given a refund, now I'm going to have to go to the fraud department of my bank, change my debit card all because I fell for a .5 cent scam

Horrible gym. Nonstop chaos. The place is a complete mess. To add to the mess, the gym allows people to scream their music and parade around as nuisance clowns seeking attention. Don’t even get me started on the guy that runs around without shoes and shadow kickboxing abnormally close to gym goers (only a matter of time before he shadow kicks somebody in the head). Management has ignored my complaints asking for help. Wouldn’t recommend this gym

During my membership i was here multiple times per week, however upon canceling i was not asked why and my cancellation paperwork says “no usage” so i feel the need to set the record straight and warn others who are considering this location.

The gym consistently was dirty, unmanaged, and had broken machines that were never fixed in the entirety of the 2 months i was a member. I struggled each workout to find dumbbells as they were constantly scattered across the gym and left in the locker rooms for weeks on end, I tripped over damaged flooring multiple times, and employees were never available to sign in for tanning and if they were the beds were constantly in need of repair.

We came to crunch as it was the closest gym option to our new home. But quickly the gym became another cause of stress and dread throughout our day due to the state of the equipment and the atmosphere. We are happy to drive a further distance to planet fitness where we have the availability of all the machines and equipment ready to be used without the fear of contracting an infection or tripping over trash.

I hope that this is only a season for Crunch Fern Creek and not the fate.

I've been there a couple years now. It's large and has lots of equipment which is nice and I work out in the mornings and it's easy to get to the equipment I want. The restrooms are not particularly well kept. You never know which channel on the audio system goes to which t v and often does not have ESPN.

Crunch has fixed its amenities so I am updating my review. Great gym, requires a contract for cheapest membership unfortunately.

OLD REVIEW: Sauna has been down in the mens locker room for 2 weeks with no plans for repair

I wouldn’t get a membership at this location until all promised amenities are fixed

UPDATE!! Picture added below. NOTHING has changed. This is outside of the spin room. Every time I do spin the instructor has to clear the room and this is an example of what she finds. Spin was at 8:30am, it’s 11:30am and no one has picked this up. Still found paper towel holders that didn’t work and empty spray bottles. Just sad.

I was so excited when this gym opened because it is so close to my house! It took no time at all for it to go down hill. They keep running promos for memberships but there are way too many people in here as is. Paper towels and spray always out, people (including the trainers) rarely clean their equipment or re-rack their weights. This has turned into a very trashy place.

So much opportunity to do better but no one really seems to care.

Terrible experience! I was overcharged multiple times. I called and met with the managers several times, but they kept making me wait for a refund. Instead of fixing the issue, they charged me AGAIN! The management here is completely unprofessional and unhelpful. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place.

This gym is filthy. They rarely ever keep the sanitizer spray and paper towels stocked, so members just don't clean equipment when they're finished using it. Gross. I took a yoga class one day, and the floor in the yoga studio looked like it had not been swept or mopped in weeks. Even when you notify employees, they don't do anything about it.

I just joined and I really enjoy the classes. I do wish the floors were actually cleaned and the equipment was cleaned regularly as well. Certain equipment could use upgrades and have a wider variety(cable attachments etc). I also wish there were more sanitary stations, trash cans, and hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the gym.

SCAMMERS!! 1 star because I had to select something to write a review. I signed up through an ad on Facebook to pay $1 for 1 month. At no time during sign up did it mention, hey this is a 12 month contract and in order to cancel you MUST wait 60 days AND pay 2 monthly fees PLUS the annual fee before you are allowed to cancel. The ad made it seem like it was a way to see if you liked the gym before comitting to a high priced membership. My bad on not reading the full contract with all the fine print for sure but shouldn't there be a warning saying you are committing to paying $100+ whether you like it or not? Doing further research on reddit and these other reviews shows this corporation has major issues with employees and customers. I talked to Zach Phelps once or twice i think. Then 2 other employees I spoke with were just very flippant and unapologetic about the situation. Was supposed to recieve a call from the regional manager, Jason maybe, but of course I've never heard from him or anyone else besides a foreign sounding call center employee demanding I pay a late fee. Shame on you all.

As a recently new member, I saw on the marquee screens that there are discounts for Crunch Fitness members at select local businesses. I asked at the front desk, but the attendants were not aware. Can you please place the flyers at the front desk, and also inform the employees of the membership perks.

Also some of the paper towel dispensers were malfunctioning and not able to pull down to wipe the machines. I notified the front desk and they said they didn't know what I was referring to.
Periodic checking of small things like that is appreciated, thanks in advance !

I'm glad to become a new member and excite to work out!

The machines are very friendly on the joints.
The sauna is a nice perk.

This was my first time visiting the Crunch location in Fern Creek, and it was a disappointing experience. I had to ask four different employees before someone was willing to show me how to use a piece of equipment. One staff member even said, “No, I’m cleaning,” and completely dismissed my request.

To make matters worse, the facility itself was filthy. Equipment was left scattered, and several areas looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. For a place promoting health and fitness, I expected much higher standards of cleanliness and service.

As a new visitor, I left feeling unwelcome and unimpressed. I hope management addresses these issues for the sake of future members.

I do not know who these people at Crunch fitness think they are. My fiancee and I like to go late so the gym is calm. But I didn't know just how calm they were trying to make it. After our workout we went to our respective locker rooms to shower. I was done first so I waited and waited. Till finally he came out and said after entering the shower a young asian woman entered the room and began doing various things around the room. He said he had to stay in the shower for an extra hour while I waited. I'm Worried about what kind of place would send a woman in to shower with my boyfriend

The fittness instructors, espeically Brandy with Zumba, Sara with Barbell 45, Josh with joint venturs, TRX, and yoga, and Matthew with Yoga, are all wonder. 5 stars for the classes. The people they have working are nice but inconsistent and unknowlegable when it comes to the programs. I was initally told that the 360 scan was includes with the high tier membership and have used it multiple times and today i was told it required me to pay and have a sessiom with a personal trainer. Additionally, the building is always a mess. Weights are never organized. The group fittness room is never clean and often timey paper towels and sanatizer is not available. Id give them a 1 or 2 for this location. Ive taken advantage of 2 free.sessions witj different personal trainer. Tyler was great and had alot of knowlege however with my own past experience didnt really expand on my current knowlege. Id recommend to anyone that does not know where to start. Anthony had knowlege as well however it did not seem like he listened to me and what i was saying. He was pushy which can be good and bad. Due to personal reasons i cancelled the training as some assumptions were made and i feel he became uncomfortable and i cannot make a 6 month commitment to a personal trainer if they seem umcomfortable due to personal differences in views. I will say both trainers were knowlegable. I would give the personal trainers a 4 star. I suggest taking advantage of the free session opportunities before committing and find the trainer you click with. So far the membership has been great even if not perfect.

Over crowded no matter the time of day and never seems to be a manger there when I’m trying to cancel.. told me my best shot is to come in between 10-5 .. most people work during those hours . Froze my account and still got charges, zero customer service.

EDIT**

Since reading comprehension is a struggle clearly, I’ll over simplify my explanation. When I came in “ anytime “ to cancel I was told on 2 separate occasions, two different times of day, there was nobody there who could actually cancel my membership so I’d have to come back, knowing I was leaving for vacation and then traveling for work following that. I asked to put a freeze on my account to prevent unnecessary billing since I was unable to cancel on two separate trips due to “
No manager being there at the moment” , the kid said he froze the account and I was still billed 4 days later.

Feel free to review my account also to see the multiple notes and fixes for billing issues and the request to switch my home gym to Preston over 8 months and STILL you are listed as my home gym.

0/10 customer service, so not surprised to see you double down here on the review section.

It's okay. Out of all the crunches in Louisville this is by far the best gym, but there could be lots of improvements. It's not clean, there's not an even distribution of weights. Random things drip / fall from the ceiling. The water fountain is hit or miss, it's either working one week or it's in pieces, not working for weeks. I've lost count of the amount of times I've walked into the men's locker room and there's been female workers just standing in there talking to other members, very odd. The sauna gets cleaned regularly which is surprising, but honestly it's the only good sauna at a crunch in Louisville. I'd recommend trying the place out, but make sure you really wanna be a member before signing up... Plus one star because there is a pokestop here

I figure I would join crunch due to the newer equipment and all the classes that they provide and all the other amenities. But but in the past month that I've been attending I've been disappointed. It's not a clean gym. Multiple times I tried to get paper towel to wipe down the machine after I'm using it and either the dispenser is empty or whoever put the new roll of paper towels in there didn't pull enough slack so you have to dig your fingers in just to get enough. Men's restroom never has toilet paper in the stalls. Some of the staff that work the front desk do not know how to operate the equipment when asked. Very few of them are hired on for their expertise. I asked about how to use a free spin class pass that was given to me by the manager once I initially signed up and he had no clue.
I've already requested to cancel my membership but unfortunately if I cancel now they're going to pull from my account the annual fee that is due plus the monthly fee that I pay.

My father is old and needs to walk on the treadmill for his heart issues and when I signed him up I spoke wit the front desk person two of them and when I said k would need to come in with him just to stand next to him to make sure he doesn’t fall they said it was fine. I was not working out or anything. They said I would be fine to do so. The 3rd time I went in the worker Vance I believe his name was said I couldn’t stand with my father. Mind you every other time I was allowed to. I asked to speak to a manager and he said they are not there no one above him was there to speak to. He was very rude and racist. I cancelled my father’s membership and will not return but will also write to the company.

Been working out for almost 20 years and been to many gyms across the country as an OTR truck driver. This gym is very VERY questionable. Lots of equipment and usually never have to wait on anything, BUT the gym itself it pretty disgusting. Bathrooms, showers, sauna all barely cleaned. Plus there's no enforcement for reracking weights. Almost every barbell is left loaded, dumbbells and kettlebells, plyometric boxes left all around the gym. Cardio equipment has dirt and mud from lack of cleaning and disrespectful people.
Spend more time unloading other people's weights than you do working out. Needs to be some sort of policy enforced. Gym has potential just not well run by the staff and the members don't respect the place. I'll probably end up canceling and just keeping my anytime fitness membership.

Decent place to get a workout in for the price.

The gym is large and has most all the equipment you could ever need. There’s a sauna in the locker room that’s great for a post workout recovery.

Problems include a general lack of good gym etiquette among members. The place is often dirty and it seems weights are always left on squat racks, benches, etc. It’s not uncommon that people will leave a bar set up for 300+lbs and no put up their weights.

The staff should enforce some kind of cleanliness system. But they are often not very attentive so I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon.

The video says it all but to just to add to the list of issues with this specific crunch:

Crunch Fitness consistently falls short in cleanliness and upkeep. The locker rooms are absolutely filthy, with an unpleasant smell every time I go in there, and there’s trash everywhere. The faucets in the hand-washing area barely work and the water fountains are constantly being repaired. Despite their claims of being understaffed, other Crunch gyms in the city don’t have these issues. It’s embarrassing to see more focus on recruiting new members than on maintaining a clean environment for current members. We deserve better.

This particular club on Bardstown is disgusting and very unsanitary. I am not understanding how the health department hasn't been notified. I literally have to pass this gym up at 230a.m. which is 3 min from my house to drive to Middletown location which is 20 min from my house. I have called at least 3 times talked to managers and they all have the same excuse about being understaffed...at 3 a.m. the worker is half sleep lounging scrolling on the phone instead of cleaning up when only 2 people are in there working out...it's ridiculous and totally unacceptable.

I enjoy this gym a lot. However the cleanliness is very unacceptable especially the men’s locker room. I understand it’s a gym and people are sweaty and musty but the locker room is always disgusting.

Floors are dirty, toilets disgusting with feces stuck to the back. The showers have scum caked up on them, the sauna never gets clean, the same piece of gum has been stuck on the wall for weeks. Never any paper towels, the trash is over flowing. I’m the locker room floors never get mopped, I know this bc I see the same dust and dirt in the same spots. You can literally smell the locker room standing next to the water fountains.

Many of the reviews talk about this. And whomever responds to the reviews seems to always say they are forwarding to the loca team, I don’t think the local team cares. It’s a bunch of teenagers lol. Maybe hire people who understand the value of good work ethic and doesn’t care about cleaning the locker room or hire a cleaning company. The only thing that’s clean in the locker room are the mirrors LOL. Do better or lower the price.

Not the best gym but not the worst gym either. I never complained about anything during the duration I was doing my workouts there. There were times gym was extremely filthy and there was time when they closed one side of the gym because of roof repair.
My problem started when i tried to cancel my membership, i moved away from that area and tried to contact them for cancellations but they never answered. Then i drove from Florence just to cancel my membership but they said they can hold it and will not charge me agin till the time i do not revive it. But again they are charging my bank account without my permission. I don’t want to take any action against such a small amount but this is unethical, you should keep your words as you are running a business. As far as equipment goes I would giive 4 or 5 stars. However, here is why my rating is low. The tanning beds are broke quite frequently as of lately and the most important thing is honestly the place is always dirty. The bathrooms hardly have paper towels (which suck and fall apart on you) with dirty lockers, floors and bathrooms. Originally they were supposed to have scales in bathrooms which vanished after about the 2nd month open. They do have great cross training equipment and machines if that’s what you’re looking for. I just prefer a place that’s clean. Oh and one last thing the tanning beds don’t have sanitizer in them although they are supposed to clean after every use which is lightly at best.

Not to mention it is way overcrowded. Waste of money!

Horrible gym experience all the way around. No paper towels, no disinfectant, always filthy restrooms, constantly covered equipment due to leaking ceiling, manager ignored my request for a refund (for the $10 assessment when I signed up).

I would absolutely recommend a different gym. I would love to be able to cancel my membership.

6/6/24 — Having a broken water fountain for months is absurd. At first they were giving waters out for free, but now they’re charging for them. How a gym doesn’t have free access to water for its members is utterly insane to me. Not sure who made that choice but obviously their moral compass is skewed. Plus with all the construction work going on this place is filthy. I understand that it’s a gym so it’s not going to be perfect and I always see the same guy walking around cleaning stuff up. But when there’s 3 or 4 employees at the desk 1 or 2 of them could help that guy clean things up a bit. The women’s locker room always smells awful. It’s a shame because I really like this gym, hopefully they get it together sooner rather than later.

I've tried to be patient since talking to management directly and emailing corporate, but the place is still a chaotic mess. Finding working paper towel dispensers and spray bottles is a challenge and the water fountain has out of order for WEEKS! At first they were giving us free bottled water but today there was a "the water isn't free" sign on the cooler. I bring my own water bottle but during a 90 minute workout it needs refilled.
The place is always messy with equipment lying everywhere. I'm surprised no one has gotten hurt. I've been a member since the place opened and am starting to rethink this choice.

Hardest thing in the world to cancel. You have to physically go in and give a 30 days notice. Gym was always super crowded and you have to wait to use machines. I was charge $52.99 (cancellation fee??) after I cancelled plus another $18.74. I call to talk to some one about this and no manager available call back later…

Dishonest billing. Be prepared for money to be stolen out your checking account beyond the amount you agreed. They will continue to take as much as possible until you contact your bank and block the transactions. I tried to resolve multiple times with management with no resolution. Just another typical gym. See transactions on photo. I have to keep my debit cards locked because they won’t stop the transactions. They have been trying to take my money beyond what I agreed since December 2023 and they are still going. Each time raising the amount.

To start, I love crunch for the affordable cost and convenience of bringing along a free guest with the upgraded membership. For these reasons, I’m not necessarily looking to leave this gym.

With that being said, this particular gym could use some constructive feedback. I believe a lot of their issues stem from acquiring a subpar facility. Leaking ceilings have been a recent issue that has impacted the availability of their equipment. In addition, the water fountain appears to be working about 10% of the time that I show up. Count on filling your own water bottle before you go to this gym. They are working on fixing both of these issues, but it has been frustrating as a gym member. I can give a little grace as this is not necessarily in their control and they are doing what they can to resolve it (though it is taking quite a while).

On the other hand, they could really improve the quality of their service. The paper towels and cleaning solution are often empty in the more popular areas. Plates could be better balanced throughout the gym after members spread them out unevenly. Locker rooms could also be cleaned more consistently and thoroughly. These are relatively small fixes that would go a long way in improving the gym experience for everyone involved.

If these issues are addressed and a consistently functional water fountain is installed, I think a lot more 5 star reviews would be coming your way.

Great gym, just wish the locker room was maintained better.

Update: After months of wishful thinking, it’s time to change gyms. Other than the weeks of unclean showers, the lack of a water fountain for two days was the tipping point. We could at least be offered a bottle of water. Thanks.

Probably one of the filthiest gyms I've ever been to. So sad as facility is new and assortment of weights is nice. The spray to disinfect is often empty or missing and there's always peices of paper towels or toilet paper around. Also, they only have one water fill station, currently down since May 1, which I just think is odd.

The gym is pretty nice, clean. Great amenities. One of the ladies at the front is annoyingly salesy.

UPDATE: last week, the entire facility had no water and this went on for dayssss..no sink, no water fountain...nothing.
- This week, 70% of the machines were covered up, not able to use.
Both these instances, crunch did not even think about notifying people.

This was today at this crunch… Its not always as bad as the photos show… i think it has a leaking problem? Haha. Anyways, its pretty Janky… 1 water fountain that did not work today which is quite funny for a gym. Its typically some what organized and kind of clean. But lets be honest… you get what you pay for.. Which they billed me 6 dollars more than they should have last month. hmm. Yeah, improper billing has went on for me and my gf. its not great in my honest opinion. But its OKAY. the one perk is that its 24/7 and well ofcourse… it does have heavy weights :-). Overall i give it a 2 star based off my experience, although it really COULD be great. I just dunno why our stadards of quality has dropped so low now a days. :/ But heyy, it can definitely be worth the membership don’t get me wrong!

I love crunch and I would normally give them 5 stars but I can only give 3 stars for two reasons. 1. I honestly think they're shutting the water off to the water fountain to sell water bottles. I've been coming here for 3 months and this seems to only happen on the weekends from what I can tell. 2. They have water leaks pretty bad on the roof every time it rains and they'll shut part of the gym down and cover the equipment up with plastic and rope off a good section of the gym. These two things need to be fixed. 5 stars all day long if they address these problems.

HORRIBLE GYM!!! There are leaks EVERYWHERE in the gym every time it rains. So bad that multiple machines have trash bags on them. Puddles everywhere, along with homedepot buckets to catch the water. If I could add photos to this review I would!! Even when it doesn't rain be ready to get hit with random drops of water from the ceiling. I'm sure there is mold growing all through the place. All they are doing is periodically mopping up the water and not fixing the true issue. I have called to see when it will be fixed but it sounds like the owner has no planes of fixing the issue or wanting to compensate consumers for the poor gym environment. Also, the customer service is horrible. Unfortunately, talking with anyone in there regarding your concerns gets you nowhere.

I had high hopes for Crunch but I will be heading back to planet fitness. Planet fitness gym is clean with no leaks or issues and the customer service is unmatched!

Cool gym, much better than Esporta. Like the equipment choices. However the cleanliness of the men’s locker room is similar to a gas station. Despite the pipe issue that gives a terrible smell, the locker room is disgusting. The urinals inside and around them are dirty and smell like urine. The stalls are absolutely gross. I came a few days ago and the big stall had dried vomit on the outside. The sink area is dirty. The trash is always over flowing and paper towels are always on the floor. The floor is dirty. Honestly it doesn’t seem like the locker room is cleaned efficiently on a regular basis. My theory is bc everybody who works here is like 17 and their focus is everywhere else but the locker room cleanliness. 3 stars for the equipment and being 24hrs.
