Absolutely do not sign up with these people. I canceled my membership four months ago they continue to charge me. They have no corporate office phone number to call and cancel. I’ve called the store. They keep putting me on hold. Nobody ever calls me back. This place is a complete rip off. Do not walk run from this place and join a better gym that actually does not illegally charge you.

Equipment is plentiful and generally clean. Trainers are always available. Poorly maintained: the towel and soap dispensers are frequently empty. While staff chat at the reception desk, some towel dispensers stay empty. They want us to wipe down equipment after each use but we have no paper towels. Why can't staff make rounds every two hours to check all towel dispensers? What about adding additional towel dispensers in the wash area? Moreover, there are 11 TVs in each of two rows and hundreds of available channels, yet frequently, adjacent TVs are tuned to the same channel-like today, both were on an infomercial. Sometimes TVs are off or sitting idle on the YouTube channel waiting for a login. Why? And get this...The one designated fire exit is double key-locked, which is illegal. They were warned by the Fire Marshall and even had a fire, but no changes were made or expected. All together, this place is marginally acceptable because it is poorly managed.

Crunch Fitness has been amazing for me. To be able to go anytime 24hrs helps my Fitness plans immensely. Majority of time I go late night or extremely early morning during week and AJ has been extremely helpful and welcoming. I strongly recommend giving Crunch Fitness a try.

I use this gym ONLY for convienence since it is on my way to work but today is my last straw. I walked in and was SLAPPED in the face with a stench I can only describe as a music festival porta potty. I understand things happen however, this is not out of the ordinary. This gym is disgusting from top to bottom. The dust collected on each machine hasn’t been touched in so long it is caked to the floor. Bathrooms have not been wiped down, swept, or mopped in weeks if not months at this point. The women’s bathroom is CONSTANTLY out of toilet paper and paper towels. The men’s is the same (per my husband) and today BOTH urinals are overflowing and 2 of the 3 stalls have NO toilet paper. There are two mop buckets on tredmills due to the ceiling leaking and again, I cannot stress enough, the smell is overbearing. On top of all of this, there is one of each popular machine so you have to come in the middle of the night if you want a chance at doing the leg extension, but that’s assuming it won’t be broken. I cannot do this anymore it’s absolutely gross in this place, I’m having a conversation regarding my membership today.

I love the gym and the equipment.
The staff are always helpful and friendly.
However the place is filthy.
I have been coming here for 6 months and the floors, locker rooms etc stay filthy.
I don’t know of it’s management or the custodians just not doing their jobs but it could really use a step up on the cleanliness.

Best crunch in the city just very very crowded and lacking equipment to fit the rush crowd. One smith machine makes no sense. Friendly staff and regulars but not the gym to go if you want to be left alone or get a quick workout in unless you happen to not work a 9-5 and can go mid day

Would not recommend using their personal trainers. Was in there on my very first day and a personal trainer came up to me with attitude because I tested the movement of a machine and he told me to re rack the weights that I didnt even put on there. People like him are the reason why people cancel their membership, he thinks because hes a trainer that hes above another member. Not happy.

Was really excited when the gym opened a couple years ago, but now the quality has decreased and am disappointed in the management of the gym. One of the main reasons is the televisions in the cardio area being off for a number of weeks. I was told the subscription was expired when inquired about when they were coming back.

Predatory billing and shady cancellation practices.

I canceled my membership on July 11, 2025, using their required form, signed by one of their own employees. Despite this, they’re still trying to charge me $111 by delaying my cancellation over two months to September 26. I never used the gym after canceling, but they’re claiming I owe money because of a hidden 30+ day delay policy.

Even worse, they make it nearly impossible to contact anyone. Their automated system gives you a fake email (none@none), and their contact form only allows 1200 characters—so you can’t even explain the situation properly. This is by design.

Save yourself the headache. There are plenty of gyms that don’t rely on deceptive policies to milk customers after they cancel.

Edit: I find it funny that you claim you “can’t identify a Hank D.” when I’ve already canceled through your official process and just got a response via the Better Business Bureau that confirms you have my signed documents and exact contract dates on file. Acting like you’ve never heard of me is a weak attempt at saving face publicly while continuing to charge me behind the scenes. Classic deflection.

Beware! Do not fall for the 9.99 a month. They sign you up for annual contracts, you can not cancel (have to pay the full contract), to cancel have to go in person! and once they grab you credit card they charge for extra fees of $60 each time.

I have the highest tier membership so i go to multiple locations. The fittness instructors for a charity event i went to Autumn, Tina, Michelle, and Victoria were great. Although ive only attended one of their classes in the past due to my schedule conflicting Laynes Flow or hot yoga class was awesome. 5 stars for the fittness instructors. The location is well staffed and clean. My only complaint is the condition of the parking lot isnt the greatest. The staff is friendly and helpful. There seemed to be some minor confusion with the charity event sign up. The equipment is a little older but still good. If i could give a 4.5 i would.

I’ve been charged over $2,000 for personal training sessions I never signed up for, agreed to, or attended—starting all the way back in February. Despite calling over 10 times and going into the gym twice, the issue is still unresolved. I finally got someone on the phone on May 27 who promised a refund, but not only has nothing been refunded, I was charged again on May 31.

The regional manager, Jason, has been completely unreachable, ignoring multiple calls from the general manager and never following up with me. The lack of accountability and communication is shocking. I’ve now had to request a full refund and cancel my membership entirely.

Avoid this place unless you want to be charged hundreds (or thousands) for services you never used and spend months trying to get someone to take responsibility.

The gym has pretty much anything you want or are looking for. I joined due to the far infrared sauna. I haven't tried any of the group fitness classes yet but I plan to.
I will say it's the Dirtiest gym I've ever seen! The bathroom is always nasty flithy and there is only One changing room, so your forced to change clothes im the stall. No separate changing area for the showers either making it difficult to use showers.
Also I've never seen more women taking selfies or putting on lipstick in a gym! WtH, are we not here to workout???

The Bardstown location is so much cleaner but they don't have a far infrared sauna.

I joined back in October/November and did the kick off. 2 times a week for $212 every two weeks. From the start, it was BAD. I signed up online, and when I came in for my session, no one knew what was going on. I was given to a trainer that took my information and goals, then told me to come back another day. I do and again, no one is aware of what’s going on and the trainer I spoke with wasn’t there, so I was given to another trainer and had to do another intake on goals and info.
She was great and wonderful, but when I came in for a session and she wasn’t there, I was then informed she was in the hospital and they forgot to call me and let me know. Mistakes happen, it’s fine. So I was placed with another random trainer/did another intake goal form and it worked for a month or two. No surprise- she quit and no one told me, so when I came in for my session, I was given the “sorry, we forgot to tell you” and given to another trainer and did ANOTHER form.
The trainer was great, we worked well together, but my schedule got packed as work started getting busier. I let my trainer know that it wasn’t working right now and I needed to quit. That was April 25th. He never responded, which is fine, but I was still being charged the $212 every two weeks.
I’ve been inside to cancel, spoke to the regional manager that acted stunned by everything I had said. He had me sign my paperwork and promised to fix the situation. My last session was April 8th and as of yesterday, I am still being charged.
I have tried calling and emailing numerous times and Andrew was great on the phone, but he’s limited in just passing along info.

Why have I not heard back, why am I still being charged, and why are you all being shady?

Editing to add: the day I was given an email to reach out to, I did. I included my agreement showing that I had fulfilled my half quite some time ago. I have followed up both through the email provided and still trying to contact the DM, Jason, who is now in Florida until Thursday.
Looking through the reviews and speaking to others in fitness group, I’m sure we can gather enough to rally enough for a lawsuit.

Went to this gym in October 2024 and didn’t appreciate the dirtiness of the gym and when I came back today on May 13 of 2025, gym is still filthy, floors are dirty, especially in the women’s area. Locker rooms are dirty, stuff lying around, hair everywhere and showers are not functional. The handicapped shower didn’t have a faucet to it. And when I finally found someone to clean the only working shower, I was grossed out by the all the hair ( not mine) that had came out of the drain after the girl said she deep cleaned my shower. I left with the conditioner still in my hair and called in late to work because I had to backtrack all the way home to shower! I will not be back to this location.

Dirtiest gym I’ve ever been to. Filthy bathrooms, dirty equipment and floors, Thin paper towels and watered down or empty cleaners make it impossible to clean equipment. Bathroom toilets and sinks are gross and sauna has been broken for months. Not sure how they stay open!

Update 1 year later. Much cleaner. Things are working. Still needs some TLC, but they’re making an effort. :)

I was a little nervous coming in to sign up after I was royally screwed over by planet fitness! However, as soon as I walked through the door I was welcomed and the assistant manager Jamie seemed genuinely excited to help me with the process! She gave me a tour without me even having to ask and was extremely informative and helpful I was SHOCKED compared to my experience at other gyms in the area. I was still a little hesitant to sign up so she offered me a FREE 7 day trial so I could try out the gym and a few of the classes to see if it would be a good fit for me. I have my first class tomorrow! 10/10 experience.

I moved to another state and tried to cancel my membership. I was informed by the manager, Austin Mota, that I would need to sign a letter and mail it since they don't take digital cancelations. When I asked him to please remove the $80 fee that was charged to my account since I dont live there and wasn't able to make it quickly to cancel, Austin ignored several emails over the course of more than a week. This is too bad because it otherwise was a pretty good place to work out.

I love this gym. The staff are always so kind and welcoming and they have a lot of equipment.

I did only give 4 stars because they often have trouble with equipment being down. The photos attached were taken on the same day- that’s how many machines weren’t working. They’ve also had a lot of issues with the infrared sauna and tanning beds.

I do have trouble getting machines because of how busy it is- if you’re looking for a quiet, less crowded gym this isn’t a good option. They could easily have double the space for the amount of gym-goers and I hope one day they build an even larger facility.

Overall though it’s a great gym and as mentioned, the staff are kind and professional.

I really didn’t want to do this…because most of the staff is pretty friendly and professional. This is the worst gym I’ve ever joined. Back in October, I was pressured into signing up for that kick off thing that they shove down everyone’s throat. I finally broke and signed up, met with the trainer and let her know I would get with her when I was ready to commit. SHE CHARGED ME ANYWAYS AND DID NOT TRAIN ME!!!! Then I kept telling the staff that I had been wrongfully charged for a service I did not receive and staff member after staff member kept looking at me as if I had two heads and 7 tails. Literally no one offered a resolution.

I asked for my membership to be cancelled. Do you think it got cancelled. Nope! Fine. I gained 30 pounds and had to fight with my bank about ABC fitness.

I signed back up in January because this gym is a 3 minute walk from my house. I signed up knowing that I would not get pressured into training again.

I go to the gym 5 times a week and every time they ask me about the stupid kick off. I’m already getting texts about it. Finally, after 40 pounds down and a better attitude, I caved AGAIN.

The trainer is nice and seems trustworthy unlike that lady from October so I was excited. Once I agreed to training with him once a week(because…I mean….i did just drop 40 pounds on my own but whatever), his manager comes over to me with this wicked witch of the west aura and tries to pressure me into 2 days a week for $300 a month and that triggered the H out of me. I didn’t even feel like telling her what I had already gone through with the lady that stole my money. I had to get wicked right back with her and let her know to back up.

I wanted to train with the nice man but his manager definitely blew it. I want to reiterate that the trainer, himself, is a stand up guy.

I don’t even want the staff to speak to me when I walk through now. lol I’m still very friendly to those who are friendly to me….but idk…something is very off about the culture of this particular locations.

Also, I really wish they would stay on top of maintenance of their machines. I’ve been waiting for them to replace one particular machine for an entire month now.

My granddaughter and he friend where about to use a free weight machine. Some random guy came up yelling at them saying he was using that machine. Put his hands on their things and moved them to another area. He said it was his machine, however he didn't see them moving and changing the weights. After screaming at them for several moments the manager finally came over and did very little. I personally feel like they didn't even address the situation. As the clownish idiot was taunting my family and he friend. My granddaughter said it felt like a racist insidious incident. I told her to cancel her membership as we will never patronize any place that allows this kind of behavior.

Something is ALWAYS broken. I came to be apart of this gym because of the amenities like tanning and sauna. Sauna has been down for weeks, and no one can give an ET on fix. Tanning beds have been down for 3 days now with no ET. Why am I still paying full price for a membership when I am only able to use half or part of it? Planet Fitness at least keeps their gym clean daily. I'm thinking about switching back now.

Buen gym y muchas máquinas , pero muchas están rotas por mucho tiempo ,también otras máquinas que tienen mal mantenimiento y no funcionan bien , mucha gente perdiendo tiempo en los equipos , ocupándolos y andando en el teléfono, en fin no lo recomiendo , nuestra experiencia en un mes a sido pésima por estas razones , es difícil seguir la rutina en el tiempo que se tiene planificada

I’ve been going to Crunch Middletown for over a year. The equipment is solid. The staff is great. Good location. The facilities ,however, are terrible. Currently, there’s a toilet that needs maintenance, they’re out of toilet paper in the other stall, the huge heavy glass doors to the showers have handles that are about to fall off, there’s red mold growing on the floors in the showers, the floors and showers haven’t been cleaned in seemingly months. It’s not good. Hopefully the health dept doesn’t show up anytime soon. I hope they fix this soon or something’s gotta give. Idk why so many still frequent this place..

I just joined your Middletown, KY location a few weeks ago and had to let y'all know how impressed and pleased I am. And I'm a tough critic - I spent over 5 years of my career working in membership at a health club. I'm intimately familiar with the inner workings of what it takes to operate one!

I initially had some difficulties joining on-line, so I decided to just visit to complete the process. Your General Manager, Brennan Storm, was fantastic.

He explained everything clearly and efficiently and made certain I was able to join with the offer that was presented to me on-line. He's super friendly and enthusiastic about his club. He gave me a complete tour of the facilities and answered all of my questions so that I would be comfortable navigating everything I wanted to do upon my first visit.

As I've come for my workouts, I've come to observe your staff member Yolunda working very hard, and very diligently. If it's one thing I truly care about when it comes to my health club, it's the cleanliness.

I've observed Yolunda multiple times now, and each time I see her putting her all into her cleaning. The work she does is some of the most difficult there is to do in a health club setting, and you should certainly commend her for truly caring about what she does for Crunch Fitness.

Lastly, I haven't quite learned everyone's names yet, but I work out in the early morning hours, typically on weekdays before 7am, and your front desk staff members check me in with a smile and a friendly welcome. I greatly appreciate being able to start my work out with that. I leave feeling the same way as they're also sure to say goodbye and to tell me to have a great day!

There team is so kind and caring!!! Especially Russ Neal. I’m coming from planet fitness and I thought this would just be like any other chain gym but the team truly cares about you and your goals. I had a back injury and it’s been extremely hard getting back in the gym, but I got the honor of a discounted training session with Russ and it was amazing. Not only is he a personal trainer but he also has experience in physical therapy, he showed me so many exercises and stretches I can do to re strengthen my back. He took the time to truly listen to all my concerns and helped me with them all. Russ has helped me become me again. If you ever need help coming back from an injury or if you’re just not sure where to start, I highly recommend speaking with Russ. THANK YOU CRUNCH!

Me and a couple buddies all had the same experience when it came to canceling.

We would be told our training was canceled and then weeks later were billed again after having canceled about a month before.

We would even call and confirm, they would say yes, and we think we’re in the clear.

One buddy already had to call his bank to block crunch from charging him. Definitely don’t sign anything and only pay up front if possible and only do it with cash.

I signed my boys up for personal training three months ago. Their trainer is amazing! During the sign up process I realized I was being set up for month to month. I stopped the person signing me up and said I wanted to pay upfront. She said it was fine and took my payment. I clarified with her that I would not be charged monthly, she assured me I would not. The email I received that night was for a month to month contract at $318 per month, after I had already paid almost $1600! I can back the next day and spoke with the lady who signed me up. She assured me everything was fine and she would void the month to month and email me my paid in full receipt. I did get the receipt that evening. Three months have passed and on Christmas Eve I was charged $318. I called on the 26th and left a message. I came in and spoke with someone the same day, and told no one there could help me until the person who signed me up was back. I came back several times and spoke with the person who signed me up and the assistant general manager. I was told no one can touch the payments for personal training except the person who messed mine up and that her doing this is an ongoing issue. It has now been 12 days. I have spoken to the same two people who tell me that I should be getting and email and it still has not happened. Tonight I asked for a person to call and i was told they were not allowed to give the number for the person who handles these things but she gave him my info and he should call me. She also gave this same person my info last week and nothing has been resolved. They clearly do not care. I am sure I will continue to be charged this month as well because nothing has been done! If anyone has contact info for the person to speak with please let me know. Do not sign up for personal training unless you plan to pay month to month. No one cares about taking your money and you will probably never see a cent if they over charge you. And to think, I was going to sign my boys up for training again in the summer… NEVER! I’m disgusted.

I would like to commend Brennan Storm General Manager of Crunch Fitness-Middletown KY for his outstanding customer service and expert professionalism in handling an issue my son had with being double charged for his annual membership fee. This gym has been a life saver for me. It has all the equipment I like to get a great workout in. I love that they increased the size of the facility to add more equipment, especially the bench press station. I also feel like I'm able to walk around more within bumping into someone, especially in the afternoon.

I do want to add that I wanted to speak to a Manager regarding a rude staff member name Chatoya and a team member left my number for someone to callback and discuss the situation with me. I wanted to wait until the end of the day to get a callback, but I never received it. I was using equipment that already had weight on it, and she was very rude about me putting the weight back. It wasn't what was requested of me; it was just how I was approached about it.

I have been charged twice each month since the beginning. $31.79x2 at every last Dat of the month. Now, I would go talk to them but I have been asking for my training refund they charged me without providing any training. 2x 6 half an hour session. My then trainer quited, which I understand they need to find someone to cover her. But no one, I mean NO ONE ever brings the issue up to me. I called several times, stopped by several occasions. I was told a few times it would be taken care off. Here I am 2 months later just found out they also charged me twice each month. Too late for them to do anything now since I already filed the case against them. I just have to add the additional refund amount from the 2x charged each month. What a nightmare. They just not going to communicate with me. See you in court!

Clean, friendly staff, plenty of functioning equipment, good class selection, doesn't smell too bad.

My only complaints are:
1. They have a hard time keeping their personal training staff, so I've had 3 different personal trainers over my time there, but that's pretty normal for a public gym.
2. The yoga mats and foam rollers that are available are often mistreated so they're always in high demand and low supply - especially during class times. I'd bring my own but I try to pack light so it's more of an annoyance than an actual issue.

This location needs some serious cleaning and attention! The bathroom stall had no toilet paper yesterday, the paper towel dispenser is empty, there is poop on the commode bowl and it has been there for over a week, toilet paper scraps litter the women’s facilities, hair bunnies and dust bunnies everywhere, the floor hasn’t been cleaned in a loooong time! I told the front desk and came into the same conditions today! The equipment is great but cleanliness is poor!!

I stayed a member for about 1 month and had to cancel because it was dirty everyday I went in. I could not take it. I spoke to the front desk several times about no toilet paper and no paper towels (different times). I also had a lengthy convo with the manager about how dirty this gym is, nothing improved. Finally had enough and had to cancel.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING HERE. My wife signed up for personal training here over the summer. She did the mandatory 3 payments and canceled the personal training. Nothing was ever canceled though, my card still gets charged every 2 weeks even after canceling. We have called the personal training manager and she either ignores us or gives us the run around saying she is going to refund us and stop charging us. We have never received a refund and we keep getting charged despite multiple calls to this manager. She ignores my wife's texts. I call other employees there and they tell me there is nothing they can do. I ask for the regional personal training managers phone number and they say they can't give it to me. I call corporate only to get a message saying no one monitors the phone number online. I feel like the personal training part of this gym is a scam. I will leave this comment here until my issue is resolved.

I’ve been a member here since the beginning. It’s progressively become dirtier and dirtier. The walls and floors are filthy. So tonight was the final straw. Last night, the system was down. I get it, it happens. I called 8-9 times to ask before I drove ALL the way in to see if it was back up. No one answered. I drive all the way there and some large lady was not even behind the desk, she was sitting at a table. She finally gets up to help me, it took forever. She says “it’s all down”. I say, “yes, that’s why I called 10 times to see if it was and you didn’t answer” she say she has not been trained. I ask “you have to be trained to answer the phone”? Just bought our membership after doing a free workout as a guest in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Nice equipment and plenty of it, employees seem nice, good music at the perfect volume, and everyone working out seemed generally courteous. Only gripe, some things could be a bit cleaner. Dust and grime on the legs of the racks and machines & dirt set into the textured mats and footholds. I’ll work out here, but this could easily be 5 stars if it was cleaner.

I’d honestly take a part time job on the weekends just to help clean the place, the potential is obviously there.

After almost 3 years of being a planet fitness member, I decided to cancel and switch over to crunch. However, I regretted that decision and cancelled the next day. This is the nastiest gym I’ve ever been to. The floors are filthy and look like they never get swept. There’s clumps of dust underneath the machines and equipment and against the walls. The spray bottles of sanitizer were empty. The bathroom had stains all over the floors and walls, toilet paper and other debris in the stalls, dirty rings inside the toilets, and mold on the tile walls by the sinks. There is no excuse as to why this facility is so dirty given the area that’s it’s in. I will forever praise planet fitness because of how clean it was. Staff needs to have a checklist of cleaning chores to do during their shifts. The gym owner/manager needs to consider an overnight cleaning crew. I do not recommend this gym.

The staff works very hard; they’re some of the best I’ve seen.
Unfortunately, the equipment isn’t great despite looking nice. One proper leg extension/curl machine for the entire gym, and they’re often being serviced. Attachment optiond are limiting too; all fat grips on straight bar. Don’t expect to get you ideal workout in. Lots of great, cool people; plenty of newbies with no gym etiquette too though
Update:
some equipment has been added to increase availability on heavy-traffic machines. I.e. two peck deck machines. For a good workout, it’s best to go before 4:30pm or after 8:00pm as traffic thins out(like any commercial gym). Staff still freaking rocks. Pretty responsive to say the least.

I have been taking the training from Kari for closely a month and she is amazing. She addresses your goals and concerns calmly and understands what you want to achieve and your deadlines. She will closely monitor your food intake and portions and help you organize and understand what needs to be done to achieve what you are looking for. Also she have knowledge on what kind of foods to avoid during the process. She motivates you during the training and after that as well and keep on reminding your goals. She knows what she is doing and doesn't let you give up. She works hard with you to achieve your goal. Best Trainer I have ever got.

Prior to joining the gym I have received multiple offers from Crunch, including the one with no annual fee and waived registration fee. I tried to join through the link provided. No success. I went to the gym myself to join. I was charged the regular price. The offer I received was simply dismissed. The employee requested both my credit and debit card. I requested my credit card not my debit card to be charged. With no surprise again, they charged my debit card. In my next visit to the gym I requested my credit card to be charged monthly, no luck again. They charged my debit card again.

After joining the gym, I was given a tour around the gym and employee scheduled a complimentary meeting with their trainer. I came to the scheduled appointment but their trainer didn't.

The gym is okay, nothing special, but no big complaints about the equipment or cleanliness either. However, based on the experience related to their charges, I would say, I am not satisfied at all, and there is noone to complain to either. Overall, unprofessional.

I've felt out of place as someone over the age of 25 since I started going here. But, as the gym has made changes over the past few months things have gotten to the point I felt the need to leave a review (and more than likely cancel my membership.)

-I went to the gym last night at around 6:15/6:30 and there was ONE treadmill available.

-A lot of members below commented about how this place has essentially turned into a social club and I wholeheartedly agree. The "30 minute" circuit is quite laughable at this point. Management responds to everyone saying that all gyms are busy around peak times, and while I agree there should be basic rules in place. I once had a kid, next to me, on Facetime while I started/completed a roughly 20 minute workout. I don't think I saw him pick up a weight.

-The new layout somehow made the overcrowding worse (which is baffling.) My biggest complaint with this, and honestly one of the biggest reasons I'll be canceling, is the upstairs area which is quite literally the only place I could workout and not be shoulder to shoulder with the other guests is now dedicated to cable machines and not free weights which is SO confusing.

Anyways, I think that's about it on grievances. I gave a star for cleanliness. The worker who seems to clean the most (if not the only one) is quick/thorough.

I truly hope you all take some of this into consideration and make some changes.

Really good facility but the staff is very rude and arrogant. One of the trainer Chatoya was absolutely rude to me when I tried to enter a common area while she was taking a class. She asked me not to enter in a rude way where she could have been polite. Firstly she was blocking common workout equipment with her class and she was rude as well. My wife had a cramp and needed a foam roller. If not I would not bother entering her class. Nobody let us know that members won’t be able to use equipment while group classes are on.

There’s a young man that cleans at night, that has a bounce in his step, and is always working to keep things clean. I love to see people that work hard, and take pride in their job, and I’m very impressed with his efforts. The staff is always welcoming, and polite. Initially we canceled our membership because the gym was always full and no matter what time of day you go, there are always people on the machines. A lot of them just stand around or sit on the machines and are on their phones not even using the machines.

The real issue that resulted in this negative review was the process of changing our financial information on file and how long it took to finalize the cancellation of our membership. Prior to canceling, we had closed our bank accounts on file and wanted to update the new bank account information with the front desk staff at Crunch. The first two attempts of trying to update our accounts with the new banking information was a fail. They front desk staff said that the system was down and they could not. The third time we tried, the system was working. However, the professionalism of the front desk staff was very subpar. While attempting to help us update our bank account information, she was on her phone the entire time. Apparently replying her texts was a lot more important than updating our account information. This lead to a series of unnecessary fee charges as well as our financial information on someone else's (person we do not know) account. This was definitely unacceptable, having our bank card account information on someone else's membership account without our consent could have been a law suit. This was all because of the front desk staff that was not paying attention when she was updating our financial information onto our memberships. If she would have paid more attention to us instead of her phone and actually checked to make sure the financial information went on the right account, we would not be having this issue, which I am currently still dealing with as of the time in writing this review. Our account was charged an annual fee for someone's because of her and trying to get that annual fee back has been a nightmare. All of this could have been avoided if there was just a little more professionalism shown when helping out a paying customer with their financial information updates to their membership.

UPDATE: As of the time in writing this review, I still have not received my refund for the wrongly charged annual fee for SOMEONE ELSE’S account. My financial information was mishandled with unprofessionalism by the staff and ended on someone’s account and I WAS charged for THEIR annual fee. This whole refund process has taken over 6 months! This is very disappointing and unacceptable and I would hope as a business you’d be better at handling people’s financial information and better at giving their money back when they are wrongly charged.

I don’t like coming on here to leave reviews, but I hope whoever does the equipment procurement for these gyms no longer buy any new squat racks like the ones at this location. These squat racks are way too wide for the bars and I believe that will get this business in trouble if someone gets hurt and wanted to take the issue farther. There are only two inches (each side) of lateral clearance between the edge of the rack/safety bars and the plates you put onto the squat bar. Even with the best form and straight positioning and alignment, it’s very hard to not knock one side on the rack and then feel like a pinball getting tossed between each side as a result. Same with not hitting the safety bars with the plates when you make your depth and getting thrown off balance. If I lowered the bars, they’d be too low to be any help if I failed. I was better off taking them off the rack. I’m not claiming to know everything, but I’ve been powerlifting for several years. I double check my form and alignment often (as I should). I can’t be the only one that has this happen and I think it’s worth bringing to attention.

I have been a crunch member since not too long after it opened, from here on out this will be referred to as Old Crunch.

Old crunch was awful, management was non existent or if they were they were so focused on hanging out in the office they didn’t care about the gym, about staff, or members. The high rate of turnover was proof of that. The gym wasn’t ever clean or organized. I almost gave up on it ALMOST……

Fast forward to new Crunch new management Austin and Brennan have turned this place around, they care, not just about the gym, but the members and most importantly the staff.

Crunch is a high volume gym, because it’s so welcoming and friendly. You do have to work in with people but the plus side is you may just make a new friend in the process.

I look forward to my daily workouts at crunch and seeing the staff.

When I did my first review of Crunch I was very pleased, now that has changed due to their blatant business practices. What I mean by that is that they said when I signed up for my membership that at any given time I could stop coming & cancel my account, but when I unfortunately had to do this, they kept debiting my bank account which in turn made my bank charge me several overdraft fees. Even when I called the corporate office to let them know about this, their representative told me that I owed them, because I didn’t give them notice, I in turn reminded them that according to the person who signed me up for my membership, that I didn’t have to give any notice and that I could stop the membership at my discretion. So this was over 5 months ago, and when I go into the app to check my account status, they have me down for $250 that say I owe them, but I haven’t been to their gym in the past 5 months, I have spoken in person and over the phone with several people including managers so as to explain this issue, each manager lied to me and told me they would take care of this and clear up my account, which they have not done at all, so if anyone is thinking about joining this gym make sure you find out about what you should do in order to get out of your membership or they will have your account all jacked up like mine, I’ve spoken with other people who have had the same issues with them!!!!

I believe that if you are having a bad a day is understandable but is not peoples fault. I been a member for about two weeks, and I been going to the all of the locations trying all the classes. I enjoy going to the Zumba class on Wednesdays at the Middletown location. I pay the 24$ membership and I mistakenly thought that I was able to bring a guest. The first time I went to the Middletown Location, I took my mom with me and they let her in as my guest, at this point I kept thinking that my membership included unlimited guest. Today I went with my mom again to the Zumba class and I told the girl at the front desk that my mom was my guest, here is where my patience got tested, and how the conversation went:
“ what membership you have?, oh the 24$ doesnt include unlimited guests “, to what I responded “ i thought seeing it on the website , and i came the first time and she was able to come in”,
She replied: “ they don’t know how to do their job and they weren’t doing their job , so she can’t go in, and i can show you that your membership doesn’t included bringing a guest, if she wants to workout, she can pay 10$ for a pass”.

The issues was her attitude and the words she used, especially because my mom went with the intention of becoming a member, and the way this girl spoke to us was very disappointing, and arrogant. I can’t remember her name because I was very upset , anyway I think that the conversation could’ve gone another way, and her service could’ve been way better . Obviously she is not doing her job either.

Great fitness center, I am not a local. Came from out of state for an event and looking for a gym to get my workout in came across this gem. Had a 3 hour workout to complete today part of a 8 week program. They have absolutely everything you need. Emily at the front desk was beyond helpful 5 stars for her. Recommend this fitness center 100%.

I am super impressed with the Staff and their attentiveness. The General Manager, Austin Mota, and another member of management (I don't know his name, but will be asking!) noticed someone being a little creepy with me while I was working out and they made a point to walk through and make their presence known, then proceeded to let me know if someone ever made me feel uncomfortable to let them know! It is awesome to feel like the staff truly cares about you not only as a member but as a person. Mad respect!

I'm a senior citizen so my membership at Crunch might seem a little odd, but it has served me very well. I always receive a friendly welcome greeting at the entrance. The facility is well maintained and clean. The women's locker room is large, clean and well equipped. There seems to be every imaginable type of equipment and space for exercise that one could want. I focus on the center 3 rows of weighted machines that help me strengthen arms, legs, shoulders, abs, and back. Since going there, I no longer have trouble with sciatica, I feel more centered and have better posture. I have no back aches or aches and pains of any kind and I feel energized when I leave. My only minor niggle is with the people who sit on their phones at their machine in between their sets for long periods of time instead of offering to get up and allow others to "play through". There are signs discouraging this behavior but they are ignored and this is a common practice.

I came here on a guest pass and this gym was fantastic. It was definitely crowded at 630am, but I understand why - lots of equipment and options for working out. I travel a lot and have dropped in many gyms and this one is definitely a great gym. 5 squat racks and plenty of dumbbells, accessory equipment, cardio options and stretching/athletic area. Great gym

During my session with Will at Crunch Fitness in Middletown, I was amazed by his knowledge and expertise in the field of fitness. He pushed me to my limits, but also made sure to adjust the exercises to my physical abilities and goals.

What I appreciated the most was how he tailored the session to my specific needs and areas that needed attention. He led me through a variety of exercises and routines that targeted those areas, while also keeping me engaged and motivated throughout the entire session.

Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with Will as my personal trainer at Crunch Fitness. He is an excellent coach who knows how to challenge and inspire his clients, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get fit, stay healthy, and improve their overall well-being.
