Dance Louisville is the best! Brook Jenkins is a FANTASTIC dance teacher. She taught my fiancΓ© and I our first dance, and my dad and myself our daddy/daughter dance. Both dances turned out so good! She teaches dance in a clear, easy to follow, and approachable way. She is talented in choreography, and worked with us to figure out just the right song and tempo. I’d highly recommend Brook and Dance Louisville to everyone wanting to learn a dance, especially for their wedding festivities!

We worked with Minh-Tuan for our first dance choreography for our wedding. They were very patient and kind while coaching us through each move with their expertise. We had a lot of fun with it and we're thinking of going back for more! Thank you; our dance wowed the crowd and we couldn't be happier with the result.

We had Minh-Tuan as our dance instructor preparing for our August wedding and it was a GREAT experience! We had 3 lessons for our first dance, 2 for father daughter, and 1 for mother son. He takes his time to listen to the song your chose, cut it to the time that would be best, and what style of dance would work for the song and the couple! He was very encouraging and made the experience so much fun :)

Me and my wife had an excellent time learning to cha cha with Brook. She was friendly, patient, and a wonderful teacher. The studio is a great space as well. I might as well have three left feet, but even I was able to be taught to dance here. I would highly recommend to anyone of any skill level.

We had the absolute best experience learning to dance with Dakota! From the very first lesson, he made us feel completely at ease. He’s incredibly kind, patient, and encouragingβ€”exactly what we needed as beginners. He made every session fun and full of laughter, and somehow turned two people with zero rhythm into confident dancers. His teaching style is relaxed and approachable, yet effective, and we always looked forward to each class. We can’t thank Dakota enough for making dancing such a joyful part of our journey together!

We had such a great experience with Dance Louisville! Dakotah and Allison helped us prepare our first dance for our wedding, and it turned out beautifully. Dakotah not only taught us the choreography step by step, but also edited our song and designed the whole dance to match our style. They made us feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. Highly recommend for any couple looking to make their first dance extra special!

My FiancΓ© (now my wife) Chelsea and I starting working with Dakota and Allison several weeks before our wedding to put together a custom dance to our custom wedding song.

Neither of us are dancers, and my goodness did that show at lesson 1! Nonetheless, Dakota and Allison worked with us to develop a beautiful choreographed dance that we were able to absolutely nail on the day of. Absolute highlight of our wedding and we will always be grateful to them for helping us put it all together.

Highly recommend working with them to anyone looking to add a little something special to their big day.

We scheduled dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding. We were scheduled with Dakota (Red). Our introductory class was relaxing, getting to know what we wanted in our dance, the song, etc. he taught us some basic waltz steps. By the next class he had our performance choreographed and we got to work.

6 weeks, a lot of practice, a lot of laughs, and a whole lot of dancing! Red and Allison really worked with us through the process ,correcting, encouraging, and always keeping us moving toward our goal. Nailing that first dance.

I can’t thank them enough for creating a beautiful dance that wow’s the crowd. We will be looking at more classes. They are gem to the dance community of Louisville!

Red and Allison were the BEST instructors. They were so patient, easy to work with, and kind. My fiancΓ© and I were able to learn a choreographed first dance for our wedding, as well as a dance lesson with our parents to learn some basic dance steps. As all parties came with no dance background, we did not want to feel awkward during our dances. Red and Allison made us feel comfortable so we were able to enjoy our special moment. We both had the best time with our dance lessons, and we absolutely recommend Dance Louisville with Red and Allison.

My father and I worked with Dakota for our father daughter wedding dance. We came in with no experience (and if we’re being honest, no rhythm) and Dakota was incredible. Went to Dance Louisville to practice our father/daughter dance for my wedding. I have never had dance lessons before but Dance Louisville was the perfect choice! I live out of town, and they were able to schedule our lessons with my scheduled. I think our dance stood out and will be something that people will remember from my wedding day. Our instructor, Mike Gasson took all of my requests and was able to come up with a perfect routine that incorporated disco and swing for our song "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire! It was so fun and is a memory I will cherish forever! I definitely want to come back for more dance events here!

I met Brian (the owner) 3 years ago at an event in Germany, where he was teaching C&W and dance technique. He is such a great dancer and a perfect teacher. This made me curious to see his studio in Louisville, KY. So I decided to plan a stop over on my annual US trips to visit his studio. I really love this place. It makes you feel warm and comfortable. I also took the chance to get private lessons from Megan and you can tell that all the teachers there have a highly qualified education. As I started to love this place I also visited Derby City Swing in 2014, a great event Brian is hosting in Louisville. I knew almost no one there, but the people from Dance Louisville took care of my like a family member! If I would live in the Louisville area, Dance Louisville would be definitely the place to go! I wished a place like that would be around here in Germany!

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. You don't have to know any ballroom dancing before you walk through the doors. The classes teach basic steps so you can learn at your own pace. The group classes are priced very reasonably. If you are looking to learn how to dance, de-stress, and exercise some, I would highly suggest coming out to Dance Louisville for a class! But be warned...once you come in, you may never want to leave! :-)

I went to the Sunday beginner class three times, twice without a partner and once with a partner. I had a great time all three times. The instructors are very clear and direct in their teaching and very easy to follow. I enjoyed rotating partners because it was fun to meet new people and to have the opportunity to learn to dance with different people. I was nervous about clothing and shoes before my first class, but that turned out to not be an issue. Comfort is all that counts. I hope to go again, if my life permits!

After watching a few YouTube videos I decided I wanted to give west coast swing a try. In February, I found Dance Louisville. Hands down the most wonderful place to learn social dancing in town! I have always wanted to learn how to swing dance since college, and it was a bit intimidating and out of my comfort zone to try to learn this skill at a new place with new people. This is a nice place to learn basic ballroom dance. I have been there several times. Some instructors and some staff were nice. I was kind of scary when I was there at the first class. My Dad invited me to try ballroom dancing with him a little over a year ago. I had never taken any formal dance lessons in my life and only went to support him. Since that first day at Dance Louisville, I have taken lessons in Rumba, Fox Trot, Waltz, East Coast Swing, Night Club, Salsa, Bachata, Two step, Tango, Cha Cha. and West Coast Swing. I have made connections with people on a friendly fun level and on a deeply personal level. I had almost stopped living life, but dance and the Dance Louisville Staff have been a part of my personal journey. I've lost weight, gotten out of my comfort zone and most importantly, I'm having fun! Brian. Kelly, Megan, David, Michelle, and so many more are professional dancers/instructors that enjoy what they do, but mostly, they enjoy people. They keep me coming back for more. I have been dancing and taking lessons at Dance Louisville for just over a year. When my former dance teacher unexpectedly passed away in the middle of a competitive dance season, and right before the world competition - I needed someone who could step in and pick up the reins quickly. I also needed someone who could help me progress in both competitive dance and social dance. Brian Barakauskas (and Dance Louisville) was my choice and I'm so grateful that he accepted me as his student.

In the year that I have been taking lessons from Brian, I have learned so much and my dancing has progressed significantly. Not only am I learning to dance well, both competitively and socially, I have made so many friends at Dance Louisville. They are truly my dance family. The studio atmosphere is so warm and friendly - everyone goes out of their way to make sure newcomers feel welcome and encouraged.

Whenever anyone asks me where they should take dance lessons - Dance Louisville is my recommendation. Hands. Down.

Been coming for nearly three months. To the point. Dance Louisville is great. The staff are friendly and experienced, the atmosphere is one of support and encouragement, and the students are good about welcoming and dancing with new people. The pricing packages are great for new students, giving you enough group classes and private lessons to decide which pricing options best fit your dedication and skill level as you progress further. If you are a casual dancer looking for a fun night out, the parties are a great way to spend an evening socializing. If you are an experienced ballroom dancer, there are showcases and competitions to challenge yourself. If you are nervous about your skill level, just bring a good attitude, be willing to practice, and Dance Louisville will help you become a better dancer.

My wife (fiancee at the time) and I found Dance Louisville online when we decided that we wanted to do something special for our first dance at our wedding. We were pretty nervous, as neither one of us had ever danced before, and we didn't know what to expect. As soon as we entered the studio, we were greeted warmly, and our instructor, Emily, was incredibly kind, patient and talented. We had such a good time learning our first dance that we decided to do a second surprise dance, as well, and both were a huge hit! We were able to learn two completely different dances in about two months, and Emily and the rest of the staff at Dance Louisville were always welcoming and helpful. We've actually started taking lessons there because we had such a good time learning to dance! I would highly recommend Dance Louisville for anyone wanting to learn to dance in an awesome environment with great people.

I feel welcomed here. Everyone is friendly and very nice. I came here not knowing anything about ballroom dance. I feel like I have learned so much in a short time. The instructors are good at teaching. They break down the steps and make it easy to learn even with no experience. The beginning classes are great to learn the basics, and I don't need a partner to attend. We rotate partners and get to learn from each other, because we are all beginners. It's fun! I always leave class smiling. And the social dances they host a couple of times per month are great. I get to practice what I learn in class. There are a lot of skill levels from beginner to advanced to absolutely amazing at these dances. I get many chances to dance with a variety of people and learn from them all.

He always has a smile on his face and his attitude makes his studio one of the most positive places I have stepped foot into. He is incredibly efficient with the time in our lessons and I see definite improvement with each. Whether you are looking to begin dancing, or drastically advance your moves, Brian and his staff have the talent to accommodate your goals. You will make a whole new group of friends that will encourage you to be the best dancer you can be. Dance Louisville is a one of a kind place that you must experience for yourself to understand the passion and love Brian and his dancers all have for this sport. If you are on the edge and thinking about taking up dancing, I promise this is the place for you!

A friend recommended Dance Louisville to me about a year ago. I never in a million years thought I would be dancing, but I gave it shot. It's a great atmosphere, great escape, the people are awesome, I'm learning something new and different, and it's a lot of fun. Never a disappointing experience. I'm hooked.

I had the opportunity to visit Dance Louisville while traveling through Kentucky. I had a great time in a private lesson with Emily. Her enthusiasm for dance is infectious and made the experience top shelf. The large dance floor is great for practicing. JoAnn was warm and welcoming helping me schedule my lesson. I see why Dance Louisville is a favorite place to dance. If I move to Louisville this place would be a favorite hang out.
