About the Club

The Educator Wellness Collective offers a weekly, restorative yoga class designed specifically for local educators and helpers. It is more than a yoga class - it is community, because healing doesn't happen in isolation. EWC classes are container for educators to feel held, supported, centered, and safe. Classes are beginner-friendly and open to all who work in education. By focusing on grounding techniques, mindful movement, and self-compassion, we empower educators to rediscover their self-worth, heal from the impacts of toxic stress and secondary trauma, and cultivate sustainable practices for a balanced and fulfilling life in education.

Shelby is the best yoga teacher ever!!! In the beginning, it was kinda hard to do, but Shelby talked to us through being OK with doing a little bit out of the time. As time moved on, I noticed that I was able to stretch and be more. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something relaxing to do that is also calming Shelby’s yoga class is the way to go!!!

The Educator Wellness Collective is a vital resource for the education community. Shelby introduced me to yoga more than a year ago and continues to guide my practice. Every class is an opportunity to heal trauma and reveal strength. Shelby is a thoughtful and insightful instructor who meets individuals where we are. She encourages radical, non-judgmental awareness and helps us quiet our minds and move our mountains.

Shelby is the best yoga teacher I have ever had! My body has been through a physical journey that made me nervous to go back to any kind of "workout" class, but Shelby along with this community of educators have always made me feel welcome and comfortable being vulnerable. It has been so healing to attend Monday night yoga classes to reset my mind and body for each week of teaching ahead. I highly recommend this class to everyone, especially those who might be nervous beginners!

Shelby is an incredible yoga teacher. She makes class feel safe and open for all levels. I started taking her class during my first pregnancy, and she has been able to accommodate poses for me to keep me safely moving during this time! I look forward to evenings in her class because I can relax and take care of my body under her calm guidance through the yoga practice. Anyone can come to this class and feel supported and welcomed!

As a beginner to yoga, I was hesitant to try this class in the beginning. I have been attending this class weekly for the past few months. Each week, Shelby delivers exercises, movements, and thoughtful moments that truly make this space a safe and relaxing one, no matter your skill level. Taking care of my mental health as an educator is crucial, and this class is an easy yes for my weekly routine. I'm grateful for the space EWC is creating in Louisville!
