Great gym, great equipment, great stuff. Had to cancel myself, which they were cool with, but would recommend this gym.

Here’s today’s workout: walk around the gym and every piece of printing paper that says “ATTENTION EAC MEMBERS” stapled on the wall. Do a burpee.
Good luck.

They lock you into a annual contract and you cannot cancel anytime. The equipment is overly used, the treadmills barely work half the time. All the bicycle equipment is outdated. Most of the patrons here are rude, disrespectful, and look at you as though they're going to fight you half the time. Not a very friendly environment. Especially if you're a man, around other men.
Not sure about the female experience, but from the male experience, you don't exactly feel like you're going to have a good time here. More like prison. The bathroom stink, there's not much privacy.
This gym is overcrowded most days after work, most Saturday mornings, and pretty much anytime I decide to come here. Keeping your consistent routine is hard when all the equipment is constantly being used, and I don't like paying for something that I can't afford to use if I don't have the time to wait to use the equipment.
Here lately the AC goes out, and I've been very patient about this; but you're met with more excuses about the AC being problematic by the owner then them actually fixing it. It's been over 4 months.
Planet fitness is far cheaper, and you can cancel anytime. If you're considering going to this gym, you must be made of money.
If you want to get fit consider working out at home, or going to the park. You can cancel anytime, by getting in your car and driving home. If you want a prison environment to work out in, feel like you're about to fight at any moment, and have an unpleasant and overcrowded workout environment with garbage music blasting above and equipment that don't work, by all means.
Typical photo of a Monday afternoon: no place to park!
Don't take my word for it get a membership today! You'll be sorry you did!

Would rate lower than a 1 star if possible. Signed up for a month by month membership. They signed me up for a full year membership which I could not get out of. After being there a month realized this gym is bottom of the barrel, would not recommend this gym to anyone

been going here consistently for a while now, don’t see the reason for any negative reviews. the workers are constantly cleaning throughout their shifts and are very friendly people. there’s more than enough equipment to get a solid workout in for every body part. for $25 a month there’s quite literally nowhere that can compete. any review saying that “half the stuff doesn’t work” sounds like operating errors because i’ve only ever came across 2 broken things and they were both fixed within 2 weeks. if you have reasonable expectations, this place will check every box. the improvements have continued to happen and make me even more hopeful for the future. (if you smell BO “all over the gym”, invest in some deodorant).

I’ve been going to this gym for years now and it’s continuously been going down hill :/ it’s extremely hot in the gym for the past couple months and I’m surprised nobody has passed out it’s that bad. The smell of body odor is pretty bad especially with the gym being so hot. I used to see a cleaning staff in here but I haven’t for prob 6 months now so I never see anyone cleaning. Half the treadmills don’t work which sucks. The girls bathroom never has toilet paper which is annoying. I used to love this gym but it’s really hard alone to workout when it’s hot and muggy. It sucks this is the only gym we really have around here that’s free weight. Also the internet doesn’t work half the time. They raised the prices for a sauna (that’s never cleaned, stinks and fits 2 people max) and a tanning bed (that’s 100 years old). Also, the person responding to everyone on the reviews is rude even though everyone is having the same concerns… I would love to continue going to this gym but I wish I could see some changes.. other than the monthly price..

Great local gym with expert coaching and real results!
I joined E Town Fitness to rebuild my strength, improve my cardio, and lose some weight — and this gym has been the perfect fit. The instructors are knowledgeable, attentive, and always keep an eye on form during group classes, which I really appreciate.
They also provide helpful diet guidance and use an InBody scale to track progress, which has kept me motivated and accountable. The atmosphere is supportive, and I’ve seen real results. Very happy with my decision to join!

Good gym, but I'm paying $25 for a gym membership, then an additional 50 every year for a place that can't even clean their saunas. I have been to countless public saunas were they actually clean inside the sauna. Every time I go in there it smells awful. It's not a bad gym. But it definitely needs some cleaners

It is a horrible gym. It is 100 degrees everyday with no airflow. Doors are wide open to let all the heat in. There is terrible management, and machines that are broken for months saying it will be fixed soon. Terrible gym, would rather go to the gym on post.

I made a previous review a couple months ago regarding my negative experience with this gym and it only continues. 3 months after trying to cancel my gym membership, I am still being charged for it. I called to notify them that I was still being charged and the employee advised her boss had stepped out and she will have them call me when they got back in 40 minutes, so she took down my information. 2 hours went by with no phone call, so I called back. The staff member re-asked for my contact information (this would be the 3rd time I’ve given it to them since May 2024, when I originally signed up). By this time the manager had gone home for the day and they advised they would contact me the following day. I drove an Hour to the gym to speak with staff and fill out a cancellation form. Nobody was attending the desk, and no call for help button was present while I stood there waiting for about 5 minutes. I filled out my own makeshift cancellation form and left it on the desk for them. The manager called me the following day and advised that I never filled out a cancellation form. I stated I was never informed that when I signed up, just to notify them of the reason (within their grounds of cancellation - which it was). The manager stated that she can email me a copy of the form and I can fill it out myself or she can fill it out for me. I asked why couldn’t the staff couldn’t do that when I originally tried cancelling months ago. The manger Regina doubled down and advised it’s part of a contractual agreement to keep their business and myself safe. I again asked why I wasn’t given this courtesy months ago when I tried to cancel and she responded with because I never filled out a cancellation form. I stated again that I wasn’t informed of it and I’m going to take their staff members at their word when signing up and not read the fine print. Regina stated I should read that fine print moving forward, however, I never received a copy of the contract as her staff took down my personal information incorrectly. So I’m being given unsolicited advice from a company with employees that didn’t do their jobs correctly. I asked if my money for the last couple months would be refunded and I was told no. I would never recommend this gym to anyone. Old and run down equipment, terrible ventilation, terrible experience with the staff and they will blame their customers for their own misconduct, and still take your money.
Ps. When I updated my information when originally cancelling, my name was spelt “Jackson” and in the email address they had on file for me was “Jaxon”. My name is spelt “Jakson”

Love environment, all the employees are very friendly and i have never felt unwelcome there. Facility it’s self is great , really big area so never have the annoyance of over crowding like other gyms. Also the cost to sign up it’s self isn’t costly, especially considering the environment and equipment offered. Would totally recommend to friends and family!

I’ve been a member at EAC for 8 years. The new owners and staff are by far the best the gym has had in years. Everyone is friendly, the childcare is consistently open and the new owners are responsive. I appreciate them working hard to get the gym back to what it use to be.

Terrible air flow, equipment is worn down and raggedy. I Signed up while I was in town for work, went a couple times then eventually cancelled. The staff had input my personal information such as my name and my email incorrectly. I have issues with this all the time so I make sure to reiterate the spelling. They Clearly weren’t paying attention during this process because when I tried to cancel and was informed my name and then my email were spelt 2 different ways in their system (name was spelt with a “ck”, my email was just with an “x”, but my name is spelt with only a “k”) Once I cancelled I was informed it would take 30 days to process so therefore I would have to pay another month’s fee. I argued that 30 days to process something is atrocious and a way of scamming people for an extra months fee. The manager was unbothered

Dont trust fake reviews.. Back when it was energy gym it was all new and had tons of people all the time. Kinda dead now and ran by really rude management. Checked it out and yea alot of issues. They need better employees and never really gained popularity so it's kinda a hole in the wall. Unfortunately it'll never do as good as Etown swim&fitness or energy gym. Not horrible though they do have some upsides such as the fact there isn't many people so it's private at times. Plus it isn't planet fitness which is a huge win since they have an issue with pervs and discrimination these days!. Overall not good but not bad.

So, let’s be real. The only other major gym in Elizabethtown is Planet Fitness. Personally, I think Etown Swim and Fitness is garbage.
So, we have to ask ourselves the question, “What does EAC have to offer that Planet Fitness doesn’t?”
Firstly, it costs $25 a month at EAC for their gym, tanning, and hydromassage. BUT, you have to pay $50 for a keycard and $50 for your yearly agreement. This is substantially more than Planet Fitness; which costs $20 for all services and access to all Planet Fitness gyms. BUT, I get this. Planet Fitness is a corporate gym and EAC is locally owned.
When I was there, there was no free WiFi. I was on a day pass, so it’s possible that it’s only for members. If not, then that’s a strike for me. Lots of people stream music while they’re at the gym and WiFi simply makes that easier.
There was NO CLEANING at this gym. If my sweaty butt was on a bench, there’s nothing to wipe up the sweat from the bench. Whoever’s next will simply need to sit in my funk. That’s just gross!
They have Smith Machines, but no benches for their Smith Machines? Why??
They mostly have free weight benches for standard bench press/incline press, but one bench didn’t even have a bar. So what’s the point of the bench??
Weight plates were all over the place. Why isn’t there a plate set for each machine? Why do I have to walk across the gym and go on a scavenger hunt for a 25lb plate because the machine I’m on has NO WEIGHTS at all??
Machines were jerry-rigged when they were unkept. A standard L-pin was used to hold plates in the machine. Duct tape was used for a machine handle. A bolt was used to hold a leg curl pad down; which didn’t do its job quite well.
There were also signs EVERYWHERE about being fined if weights are not re-racked or if someone messes with a thermostat. One sign is literally as big as their advertisement banners and hangs from their top floor. This either means that the management treats their clients as children or that their clientele acts as children. Either way, this is not an environment I want to be a part of.
So what does this place ACTUALLY provide that Planet Fitness doesn’t? An actual Hip Thrust Machine, a Hack Squat Machine, and Dumbbells over 75lbs.
Other than that, that’s it.

Doesn’t answer phone calls. Cancelled membership because I was deploying overseas and still got charged for months. 1. Machines are missing labels on the weights so there’s no way of knowing how much weight is loaded.
2. They have signs that tell you to re-rack your weights but there is nobody to enforce this so people NEVER are rack weights.
3. There are children working out with a trainer. On top of the rule that says no training, it’s dangerous to have children in an adult gym.

Absolutely one of the nastiest Gyms I’ve been too. Cleanliness is not a priority. All Cardio Machines need to be serviced and maintained. Free for all gym: you can drop your weights, leave plate on machines, not wipe your equipment, piss wherever you want, and see a yellow taped up sauna. It’s unbelievable after going through COVID. Towels are clean though and jujitsu area.
That said…. I love the gym, because you are left alone, but I fear getting sick every time I go in there😂😂. Fix the cleanliness and gym etiquette and it’s perfect!
Don’t come if you are a cleanly person. There are green bottles for cleaning if u don’t searching for them.

I had some trouble with a double charge and called in several times only to be referred to the gm who I was never able to speak with because I thought I had to come in and I work the same hours they work so it was difficult. The last person I spoke with was Chris and he was very kind and understanding and even informed me I don't have to come in to do it, as long as they are there I can call and do it over the phone. So I was planning on doing that but I checked my account and they refunded me the charge before I even called. I guess Chris mentioned it to the gm and it was taken care of. I really was not expecting this. Thank you Chris and rest of staff at EAC. Wonderful people. I definitely recommend if you're looking for friendly, considerate people, on top of a nice place to exercise.
Edit on 11/17/2020: I changed to one star because I noticed I got double charged again. I tried calling and just as before, I was met with an employee who apparently can't manage accounts so they referred me to the gm Amber. The woman I spoke with told me to call back in about an hour because Amber was busy. This was around 11:10am so I called back 12pm and no answer. I waited another 10 minutes and the same woman from before answered. I told her I'm calling back because I was told an hour go to call back in an hour to speak with Amber. She said Amber was in the back and asked if I wanted to call back in 10-15 minutes or hold. I said I'd prefer to hold. She left for maybe a minute and came back and asked for my name and number "in case you (me) accidentally hang up" so I gave it to her. Then she hangs up on me...20 minutes have passed since she told me Amber would be available in 10-15 minutes and I have not received a call back after I was told I would. I really didn't want to write this negative review because the first experience was pleasant but this experience just nullifies that for me. I'm most likely stopping my membership here after this.
Edit 11/18/2020: I called again hoping to get this resolved and the same thing, the woman answered and told me the Amber was not available and try to call back in an hour. Again, seeing as how we work the same schedule, I was on my lunch so technically I couldn't but I decided to wait anyways to get this resolved. Called back and again the lady answered and just like before, said Amber was with a client. I explained I tried all this already and I never can get a hold of Amber. She actually got her on the phone this time but was told I'll get a call back shortly. I waited a bit more, and finally got the call. Amber told me she fixed the double charge issue and apparently it was put in the system incorrectly. I expressed my frustration in a civil manner and she apologized. She removed everything and plans on redoing it next month. For now I still have access to the gym. This helped me feel a little better about it all so I'll raise to 3 stars. But seeing as how it was "resolved" once before and I got double charged again, I'll have to see what happens when we redo my account next month, and watch for charges the following months. If it's resolved, I may raise back to 5 stars but until then, it has been a very sour experience having to deal with two double charges in the first place and then calling several times only to be delayed every time until finally being able to speak with the gm. I will update in the future.

When you catch the staff doing it and address them they cry, literally. Brought it to owners attention a couple times. Not once has this happened but mulitiple times. The last time I caught one of the girls being very hateful to my daughter and told her to never do it again. The next day I was told my membership was revoked. Would strongly suggest a different gym. Very clean gym in a nice environment. Has a lot to offer. Weights, cardio machines, boxing room, yoga class, inside track and more! The front desk clerk was super friendly and knowledgeable about the gym!

As an ex-employee and a member at EAC, I would definitely recommend this gym to those looking to get into real shape. This gym and the members are highly motivated and strive to be the best in the area. The childcare system is also very reliable and convenient.

Seriously a bad gym. Many machines sit unfixed with duct tape on them. Work out rooms are taken over by daycare when the daycare room needs overflow. (I'm sorry, I'm not paying membership fees for someone to watch SOMEONE ELSE'S kids). Staff is complacent and only interested in what they're doing. (Browsing facebook, flirting, chit chatting). Parking lot is like swiss cheese. Word is the owner lives in Florida and just collects the money/doesn't care. After my year was up I switched to the other big Etown gym, much, MUCH higher quality machines, no duct tape, daycare limited to the daycare room and very friendly staff and same price.

WATCH YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!!!!!!!! YES they are still horrible when it comes to your bank account. Several times i had to call as well as show them my bank statements, where they had taken to much or had double dipped into my account for that month! Also when i cancelled my membership they continued to charge me for three months, until i finally dug up the receipt and "proved" to them that i had cancelled. It took 6 weeks for them to give me MY money back that THEY had taken. Very shady operation. The showers are gross as well, they use shower curtains which i am certain are not cleaned properly due to the amount of "film" on them...DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
