Here we go again…..fix the men’s sauna! It took months last time to fix the sauna. Contract with a new maintenance company or hire a reputable electrician to make repairs in a timely manner. Also - very important- stock spare parts. Heating element, fuses, circuit board, high limit cutout, contactors, thermostat etc. ANYONE who is competent in facility maintenance keeps spare parts. To a trained electrician, dry saunas are NOT complicated. Change your approach to repairs so your clients don’t suffer.

Unfortunately, it is not what it used to be. I have been a gym member in this location for 17 years! This gym lacks group classes. The pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned and resealed for years. Some equipment is not working, some equipment is never free. The issue in 2023 was that guest passes were given to anyone. Though their policy states that the member should be present at the moment of signing, I saw that policy violated multiple times when there was no member present, when ID was not been asked, and at times, there were 2 printed pages with QR codes to scan, so Any person can go and exercise. At various times, I saw high schoolers without parents present, even at 8 p.m. There were moments when neither me or my friend felt safe. As it is the closest gym to me, I have No choice.
Am editing my review as My review is about Esporta at 3001 Blake James Drive, Lexington, KY.

P.S. Finally, we have some classes added. Today is the 2nd of July, 2024. I guess it is my Fault that I didn't look at the app that Zumba was cancelled. My remark here is that as of 7:06 p.m. they haven't put any note on the door or on the front counter. I applaud for a great service as usual:(.

I love this place but they close too soon on weekends. They even close like 10-15 min early than the time they are supposed to be closed. They turn off lights and fan like 10min before the closing time. Staffs are so ready to kick everyone out. Lots of machines are old and need to be replaced.

Have been a member of this gym through various owners. It's cleaner than it used to be, and the maintenance level has improved, but they are still slow to repair the high cost amenities (sauna, showers). Local staff is great but corporate is your typical gym. Early mornings are best for serious fitness use, afternoon/ earlybevenings its the more typical "insta chad" crowd.

I have been a member since 2018. Cade, the current Operations Manager is the best! He is very friendly and listens to members and addresses concerns when they arise.

If you are someone visiting Lexington please save your money and your time and don’t come to this gym. They will scam you by charging you 20$ for your trial and they will not even tell you about the 3 day free trial. Please don’t get scammed like I did and if you want to spend that 20$ spend it on a gym that actually provides stuff for their customers and is not that cheap. This gym was really great. It had everything you could want as far as machines and free weight, and it's very well priced. Most gyms I've been to have had really mediocre customer service, but the customer service at this gym was the best I've ever experienced. Huge shoutout to my friend Morgan who helped us, she checked all the boxes and more. I could tell she really cares about her job and the people there and I was only there once. She's intentional about her work, and she was very welcoming to my friend and I. I'm recommending this gym to all my friends who go to UK and EKU and telling them to find Morgan and get a membership. Give Morgan a raise!!!

This gym steals from their customers by making it virtually impossible to cancel your membership, even when you’re legally allowed to do so as per the contract. I followed all of the correct procedure for doing so, including sending a certified letter to their corporate office in Irvine, California, which is the only way the contract stipulates a membership can be canceled. Yet here I am, still being charged monthly for membership.

Haven't entered the gym physically since the name change as I just recently moved back. Called to ask about pricing and childcare and was told I would have to speak to Jenn and she is busy. Leave a message and Jenn calls me back several hours later right as I am trying to get a screaming child down for a nap. Says she will call me back in a couple of hours, to which I never heard back. At this point, I'm not interested in chasing a gym around to just find out pricing and no one at the front desk is capable of providing that basic information. I also shouldn't feel like I need to step in the gym for a quote to see if it's within my budget.

My wife and I love ESPORTA! We just joined, but one of the main reasons we did join was because of the friendly staff. We stopped in to get a tour of the facility in the late evening hours not really expecting anyone to be available, but Rue showed us around without hesitation. I have been a member at this club (Wellington Way location) for 10 years. We live nearby, and it's in a great location right next to Panera, with clean facilities, with friendly management and personal trainers. Blake and Lisa (mgt) are always friendly and helpful, as are the front desk employees. The personal trainers (Spencer, Logan, Natalie, and Anthony) do a great job with both the individual and group classes, providing competitive, challenging work-outs, knowing my skill level and goals. There is also a women-only workout room which is nice and private. I would recommend this Esporta location.

Hate this place. Half the equipment did not work, the restrooms where nasty and the place had an unfriendly atmosphere. I only joined to try to get back into shape, but I really did not like the place at all. Then it took an act of congress to get out of the contract, had to place blocks on my credit card. Finally got out of the contract, then they sent me another bill, after I had paid them for 5 months but only was a member for 3 months and went to this location 2 times and the north location 1 time.... A nightmare of an experience with the company. I even wrote a certified letter as the contract stated to the home office which denied receiving it and I had there signature!

This gym is falling off. The equipment needed to be updated 5 years ago, the locker room needs an overhaul, and they need to figure out a way to reliably get their patrons inside. I have shown up 3 times in 6 months to a locked gym with no workers to open the door. When you call the other location they have no communication with this gym so it is just a guessing game of how long you will wait. Time for the manager to step up and fix this place.

Happy to find an LA Fitness (Esporta) wherever I travel as it’s a huge convenience and no-one truly loves the hotel gyms.

This particular location has an extremely friendly front desk staff. They acknowledged me all three days I was there upon arriving and leaving.

The overall space and equipment, while dated, provided enough variety to successfully tackle my workouts.

Fun fact: most gyms are riddled with bacteria and debris. And it’s a huge undertaking to clean up after 100s of folks a day. Is this gym 100% clean and pristine? Of course not… but they do make an effort.

The locker room was well maintained and the sauna was in good working condition.

Overall 4/5 based on the only 1 working stair master (the upstairs one had some mechanical issues.)

Terrible management. Sitting outside the gym now at 5:30 am waiting for the gym to open. There are about 20 cars in the parking lot. This is the 3rd time in the last 30 days that the gym has not opened on time in the morning. I did my part, I am here at 5 am. Why can't this gym operate as advertised when I paid my membership fee.

I like the equipment selection but the members care more than the management. They don't open on time and when they do the place is filthy.

Some people at this gym is very pushy and assumed that my friend was eating 30 dollars worth of fast food everyday. My friend constantly works out and put in effort to be comfortable in her body and is very discouraging to hear of people that are supposed to be uplifting in the gym tearing her down with malicious words. Typical gym. Nothing special about this place. We weren't offered price options at the initial signing. The district manager (obnoxious) asked us if we traveled often. We stated we had just come back from Cincy. Next thing we know, our monthly rate was $24.99. This includes working out in other cities. We don't go to gyms when we travel. Several months later we found out we could've been paying as low as $9.99 per month if given that option. When we cancelled our membership, we were charged $51.99 for the yearly membership fee!

We will be moving to Lexington at the end of the month, so we have been trying out all of the gyms in the area to decide where we would like to work out. We were very impressed with this location. The staff member at the front was very amicable and willing to help. She offered to show us around. (we decided to look around ourselves) we did a workout and decided that this could be a good contender. The price is a little higher than some, but I would definitely recommend checking out this gym.

What a dump!
I’ve been coming to this gym for years and it has never been such a disgusting place to spend time.
The locker rooms are littered with trash, the men’s locker room has nasty carpet (yep, carpet), the sauna is constantly littered with trash, and the steam room smells like mildew.
I tried to take my membership down from Premier to Plus level. They told me I’d have to cancel and rejoin. To save $10 a month I’d have to pay about $100.00 due to fees. Do the math on how long I’d have to keep coming here for that to make sense.
My advice would be to stay away from this place.
Im in the parking lot after just cancelling this terrible relationship.

I was a member of this location at LA Fitness. It has now either switched names or been purchased by esporta fitness. I have been in there to cancel my membership 5 separate times in person and every time been told they don’t know how to cancel memberships and I’ll have to speak with someone the following day. Every day same situation. The new ownership is now offering 99 initiation fee and 9.89 a month single location memberships online. I was then told by signing up for the 9.99 membership I would be limited to only the cable machine equipment and cardio. No free weights, track or pool. No where online does it say 9.99 with limited equipment and use of single location. I have yet to still cancel my membership because they refuse to get someone to help me cancel it. Please run from this new company and operations. I will eventually get this membership cancelled and take a lot of my friends with memberships with me. As I’ve been a member at this gym for years. Run!!!!

I was visiting family during the pandemic for two months, and the managers were able to help me acquire a short term membership. It was affordable, and when it came to billing issues Eric was a great help.

In regards to facilities, they have everything you could need or want. The set up of the gym is charming and comfortable.

For COVID-19: they provide more than enough disinfectant materials for you to clean your station before and after each workout. They also provide a touch free check in via your phone.

I don’t live in Lexington, but I come home for holidays. I used a 3 day pass that I had gotten years ago over thanksgiving and then when I come home for Christmas I go online, register for a guest pass and use it. When I call later that evening to find out the Christmas Eve hours, the manager Matthew Tincher(?) answers the phone and says he recognizes my number and says I can’t use multiple guest passes in a 6 month period(this has never been an issue before and nothing in the online system said this to me as I registered for a guest pass). When I lived here I used to be a member, but that was under different management and when I would visit while I was in college o NEVER had a problem using guest passes or limiting how often I could come. Sadly Mr. Tincher has turned this into a money making enterprise that cares more about making people pay $50 to use them gym for a week than providing a service to the community to promote health, fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I will no longer use this facility and strongly recommend others to stay away. Instead I would try Snap Fitness.

Was a member here for several years. When I joined it was a nice, clean gym and although the fees were high, I was happy to pay for the convenience. Over the course of two years, the club began going downhill. The air conditioning has been out upstairs for 4 months. The machines constantly break and will be out of commission for several months. I would recommend finding a different gym.

Nice gym but smaller then many of the other LA Fitness gyms
No basketball Court if that gives you a idea.
Working there is okay ,pay is super low
The Operations Manager is younger and seems like she's never ran a business or been a supervisor anywhere before but enjoys being in charge and very unorganized with her employees.....
The hardest working employees thats also the highest paid ones are the cleaners,that gym tends to get nasty and dirty in certain areas.
There is one college girl that works the front desk who hangs out with all her buddies behind the desk some are drunk or drinking during thr business hours so the professionalism isnt there at all....
All and all its a decent gym in a decent location with many places to eat.

We just visited the LA fitness with the idea to enroll in the gym. Great facilities and spacious gym. Has many exercise machines and business hours is great. It took us a lot of time to understand membership fees, initiation fee, and annual fees. They need either a better way to explain or better written prices. Buying a car is easier than understanding LA Fitness.
