Relatively clean gym, but I have never been to such a large gym that only has three squat racks (smith machines do not count). I also could not imagine a gym that is worse about re-racking weights and enforcing those rules. It doesn’t take much for some staff members to enforce the rules of re-racking weights when someone is finished with a workout.

This gym is owned by LA fitness and its a complete joke outside of their facility and equipment. Management at LAF makes all the decisions and the staff at Esporta doesn’t seem to have any idea what they are doing. Facilities great, company communication is some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Horrible experience personally

This place greatly benefits from a lack of gym options in this city/area. They clearly know that there aren't many competing options because this place does the absolute bare minimum. They don't seem to clean or tidy up the work out area overnight (not even to mention the state the bathrooms/ locker rooms). I've been a member for over 6 year and I honestly don't think they've added more than 3-4 new machines/ new equipment. They lack enough squat racks to cater for the demand. They take weeks to repair downed machines/ equipment. It really seems they are completely content collecting everyone's dues monthly, and making no improvements or simply providing an above average experience.

I just wish there was some effort from management to not just scrape by with subpar operations.

Been a member for a year - Thieves lurk here. Some of the cardio equipment barely works. They sometimes have paper towels/cleaning solution to wipe down the equipment. Some staff are unfriendly, some aren't. Soap is 50/50 in the locker room. Only good thing here is the price for a membership. That's about it.

I just left after 10 years of membership. Awful customer service after my credit card was charged for 6 months after cancelling my son's holiday membership. An end date was given and after admitting the made a mistake, they only refunded two months of it. There was zero response from corporate after 3 calls. Go somewhere else. There are many better options. I referred many patients here in the past so that they could improve their lives. Those referrals and my business are now gone.

Cardio equipment is old and run down. Constantly out of service. Weights are beat to pieces. Pool is gross majority of the time. Locker room is disgusting. No investment in any new equipment in 3 years I’ve been consistent member. Absorbed other gym’s members that closed, without upgrading anything. Location is literally only positive about this place.

Carpet in locker rooms (dirty al the time) concern because shower is also there.
Showers should get updated also.

Some tall guy at the front desk has the worst customer service. I had a simple issue with the app to log in. The entire time I was explaining my problem, he was dismissive. He kept saying I’ve never seen this before. Great, refer me to someone who can. I kept having to trouble shoot my issue until he finally put two and two together. As he did, he walks away as if it was my fault for the problem.

Nice place with lots of space, but they close their gym for basketball 2 hours before the rest of the place closes. WHY?? Huge downfall for those of us who play. Also, there aren't many sanitizing stations around the place. Other than that, it's a really nice gym with a pretty large locker room.

Do not join this gym. Stay as far away as possible. This is a shady company. I'm disgusted with the way they have treated me. Outraged. This company drained over $1600 from my bank account over 3 years by continuing to charge me for personal training sessions after they were canceled. When I raised the problem, they acknowledged the clerical mistake on their side but refused to give a refund. Oh it gets better...

I contacted an old friend of mine who used to work at LA Fitness. Here is his exact response (screenshot attached): "Dude they did that to a lot of people. You are probably the 3-4th person that's told me they charged them after they canceled personal training."

This is a pattern. It was not a one-off mistake. This is standard practice at LA Fitness. They literally designed the system to completely exploit their customers, hide overages, and then they try to force you to accept the charges afterwards. Even their customer support had been trained on how to rebuff (not resolve) this allegation. I have never been so exploited by a company in my life...like intentionally exploited, not by accident, but with conscious intent.

It has been almost a year since this location has had water available for members while other competing gyms continue to offer it. Machines that are damaged take months to get back to operating condition. Missing barbell weights, very few cable attachments. Not friendly with guests unless it’s their first visit. I would consider looking elsewhere

The gym is really nice. Everyone has been super helpful. Since Covid precautions are in place, they definitely have mask rules and all of the clients actively wear masks. The group classes have 8 or less people in a huge room, also requires wearing masks. The lockers are spread out very far. The equipment is great and there is a lot to do. Would definitely recommend!

Been in a lot of different gyms in the Louisville area. This one is one of the worst. No working water fountain or refill station, even amidst COVID, other gyms still have water fill stations. Equipment is worn out and broken. Holes in the floor, not enough cable attachments for a gym this size, look like some of them have been used since the gym first opened. Staff is extremely unfriendly and has even complained to me for training my own wife while in the gym. Never have I had something like this happen at a gym or at all. I’m trying to think of one positive thing, but there’s simply nothing. Not even the pricing was in my favor. At the time of my sign up they told me they canceled the family plan memberships. So my wife and I had to both pay initiation fees and both pay the same month to month.

There are no water bottle filling stations you have to fill water in the sink of the bathrooms and they have a major shortage of cable attachments, bars, and plates. The condition is the worst I've seen of any gym I've been to in Louisville. Especially since you have to pay an annual maintenance fee when there are missing or broken clips on the cable machines. Surely they should be able to do replace clips, handles, and ropes based on their current condition.. The only things it has going for it is even when it's crowded it is nothing like LAC and LA Fitness has the most convenient locations for me. Nonetheless they should take some notes from LAC. You don't have to fill your water bottle in a sink nor pay a fee for upkeep to have clips on all the cable machines and handles not falling apart.

Staff are not friendly; the gym is huge, which is nice but does not boast enough equipment. There are only about five benches/ seats over by the free weights, and they are almost always filled. You could wait 30 minutes for an open bench. The layout is confusing. There is so much empty space in the gym. They should utilize the empty space to as more equipment. If you all the staff for help, they will quickly dismiss you and your comments.

I was a member of this location when it first opened years ago. I moved away and came back and rejoined. I was a little disappointed because all the original equipment remained. I left again because the odor was overwhelming. I considered rejoining after three years and revisited with a guest pass. I was disappointed to see all the original equipment from twelve years ago, the smell still lingers and it looked like their cleaning service had missed them the night before. As much as I love the location and the space; it's still lacking in other areas.

This club is climbing the star ladder. They do this by upgrading the equipment and keeping it repaired. Keeping the restrooms clean and offering classes to fit about anybody who wants to exercise in any manner. One complaint though at the location I go to is the poor condition of the basketballs. I saw basketballs played on dirt playgrounds in better condition in the Philippines. In fairness, this is not normally the case and I am sure it will be rectified quickly. By the way, the prices for membership are reasonable for what you are offered. Aerobics room, basketball court, swimming, Etc. It is difficult to complain. Check it out.

A little pricey compared to some other places but you get what you pay for. Been to many gyms around the Midwest (travel a lot for work and school), and this is definitely one of the better ones.

Kurt made the on-boarding process painless!Very personable and did a good job understand what I needed and finding a membership solution that fit.

I love this place. It has everything you could need in a gym. Basketball, swimming, sauna and steam room, free weights, machines, and plenty of cardio options. The staff is always extremely friendly and they even helped me get my membership straightened out with no issues. They're very knowledgeable and have great personal training staff as well.

Difficult to cancel, otherwise I would have rated higher. Only reason I picked this place was it seems to be the only place with a pool, workout equipment and sauna. Sauna only goes up to 115F which is barely hot enough to even sweat. Too crowded during the few times I went. One time free trainer was nowhere to be found, assuming whoever it was didn't show up that day. Equipment handles dry rotted foamy material.
