This gym is very predatory and WILL charge your card inconsistently without authorization. They make cancelling as hard as possible because they depend on stealing your money in the night. They will also attempt to ruin your credit score even after you win your dispute with them. I know, because I won. Stay away from this place if you aren’t prepared to give them full freedom over your checking account.

The Richmond location looked nothing like in the website. I used a leg press machine that was squeaking. I can’t trust the machines if they are not well maintained. I dropped my kids in the kid area and it was not clean properly, no TV or things to entertain kids.

Get Fit are participating in unethical business practices especially for a gym. With no contracts supposedly, after cancellation of membership, there should be no reports of Collections. However, myself and me other are now being harassed by debt collectors charging us exorbitant amounts of money for debts we shouldn't and don't owe. This is not a B-Corp business and I recommend others to look for a more ethical gym.

I chose to continue make Get Fit in Richmond, KY the home base for my fitness journey for many reasons. The staff, members, overall top notch customer service, and opportunity to join in group fitness classes with some amazing folks were the selling points for me! I felt comfortable there the minute I crossed the threshold. I just can't say enough about the staff-- the group fitness staff, management, and front desk folks are always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help however they can.

The manager (Regina) is hands on and really takes time to mingle and make everyone feel welcomed. She goes above and beyond to ensure members' and guests' needs and requests are considered and acted on if and when possible. It helps that she knows the business inside and out and also teaches several group fitness classes! In fact, all the group fitness leaders are awesome and there is a great mix of options! I have taken classes with LaQuinta, Rachel, Stacy, Barbara, Regina, Jessica, and Stephanie. Their skills, dedication, personalities, and positive vibes are top notch!

Aside from group fitness, there are many machines and weights/lifting options to suit anyone's needs. Tanning beds are also available. There's something for every fitness level and options at convenient times for everyone, as well as personal training options. Highly recommend.

My wife cancelled her membership some time ago and recently discovered she had been sent to collections. She tried to reach out to Get Fit and they responded that they had no record of her cancelling her membership. She enjoyed the facilities, but the customer service was less than satisfactory.

Visiting from NYC. I want to share my experience and photos with you. On 7/2/22, I was greeted by Raina Boggs who informed me Day Passes are $5.00. Raina allowed me to try it out for free.

This is what I saw:
- multiple squat racks, a power clean platform, 3-100 lbs dumbbells, kettlebells, a heavy bag, machines, treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, a personal training room, and another large room for classes.

- diverse group of men and women of all ages and ethnicities.

- I witnessed patrons disinfecting their flat benches and yoga mats after use. I saw Raina talking with some lifters as she helped them return plates back to their racks. I saw an older gentleman checking on the cleanliness of the bathroom and frequently emptying the trash outside to the back. One lifter came up to me and expressed that he liked my leg day shirt.

Overall, I got the impression that Get Fit has a gym culture where lifters are friendly, cleanliness is a priority, and offers a training modality for everyone. I enjoyed my first day experience so much that I came back the next day and asked Raina if I could extend my pass till 7/6/22.

Thank you Raina for having me and wishing me a safe trip back to New York. When I come back through in August, I'll definitely stop back by and say hi!

Kara Megan: the 'friend you brought in' was someone I believe has been asked to no longer come into the gym and the behavior of you and your friend caused numerous members to ask staff to ask you to leave the gym. You can not really believe that treating staff rudely is acceptable. And no one really wanted to listen to the hatred you two were spewing while attempting to have their workout.

Today I was approached by one of the staff and was told that my guest could not attend your gym unless she had a membership. (She was coming as my guest, which I pay for..)
I asked if there was a written notice stating that she couldn’t come, and the employee said no. I asked if there was any legal action taken that has asked her not to come, and again, she said no. She stated that her manager simply didn’t want her there unless she had a membership. (I guess she doesn’t like my friend or something, I’m not sure)
Either way, I don’t want others to be treated this way by simply bringing a friend to the gym. It’s not fair or right to do that to a member.
If you want everyone to have a membership, don’t allow guests as apart of the membership I pay for.
Avoid this gym at all costs.
The equipment is not maintained properly and it has such poor management and staff.

There’s to many gyms in Richmond to chose from to be treated like this. Take your money and business elsewhere.

I had stopped going to GetFit, cancelled my membership and all was well. A few months ago I get a letter in the mail and now have a derogatory mark on my credit because this gym has sent a collection agency after me for $260. This is ridiculous and needs to be fixed. The money they claim I owe would have been during the shut down when gyms were CLOSED.

Crooks. I had had a membership with them before and cancelled it at the gym. I Moved across the country quickly and tried to cancel over the phone. They told me it was cancelled. 7 months later I get a call from a collection agency that I owed over $200 and there was no way to rectify it without paying it in full. Now get fit won’t answer the phone. Scam?!

Extremely disappointed with my experience here. My card on file had expired and rather than calling to let me know that I needed to update my payment information I was charged late fees and it caused problems with my bank. Just became a huge hassle. Fees on fees. I was even charged a fee to cancel my membership and was told I HAD to pay for an extra month after I decided to cancel. The manager was very nonchalant about addressing any issues.

A gym membership is an investment in yourself, and the intitial price to utilize the facility is commiserate with what they offer for $25.00 a month. My daughter has been trying to cancel her membership for months. They are still charging her. She cancelled her card so now they are sending debt collectors after her. No one will call her back. They keep saying I will have my manager call you. Just filed a complaint with the BBB. This has been going on for almost a year. She doesnt even live in town anymore so can not go in in person. Time after time she is told she will get a call back but so far no luck. Do not join this gym.

I used to like going to this gym, until I saw 2 employees (one of which was a "sales manager") belittle a customer. From my perspective, the customer was being friendly but the two men talking to him were disrespectful and had a terrible attitude (one even laughed at the customer for pointing out the rudeness of the other employee). I wished I had called and complained, but I didn't know the employee's names and I also didn't want to feel uncomfortable, nor did I want to be treated as the customer I witnessed being treated so poorly. I also agree with Derek, I have never seen anyone clean the equipment, and the cancellation process is ridiculous. It seems like GetFit wants to mostly keep customers for the money only and not out of good reputation. I would choose a gym with proper staff that know how to properly treat a customer, and care for the reason of them leaving. Instead, they just "follow protocol", ask the typical exit interview questions, and are okay with severing ties with their customers without empathy.

First of all, I want to preface, I was generous on this review and gave it a two star due to one Sales Representative. I went to cancel my membership a few weeks ago and knew I had to pay a cancellation fee and the last months membership.

I simply asked a small favor and not expecting anything from the sales manager, just hoping. I had asked if I could slide paying the fee. The sales manager looked at me said “no I can’t do that, and even if I could, I wouldn’t.” I look right at him and ask him “Okay, back up a minute...what’s with the attitude?” He replied with “well I mean if you are going to be rude to me, I’m going to be rude right back?”

Okay, first of all I asked a simple question, he reacted with poor customer service. There was another employee standing next to him laughing. This place apparently condones poor customer service, mocks their customers, and does not even work on their customer retention.

This individual I do not remember the name, but he had long (shoulder length) brown hair, and (if it wasn’t obvious) decently muscular. I don’t recommend this place at all, if anything stay away from this guy. If, after reading this review you still want to pursue a Get Fit membership, talk to a guy named Jordan. He made signing up easy and even kept up with texting with me about my goals and asked why I was quitting the gym. He actually seemed to care, the other guy? Did not even phase him one bit to see me leave.

Regular equipment, nothing new or out of ordinary. 99% of the bars are bent so, if you want to lift proper or heavy, good luck. 99% of the people that lift there leave whatever they are using in place and don't put it back. So if you enjoy cleaning up after people and them never being enforced to actually pick up after themselves, you also have that to look forward to. 99% of the trainers and employees have this, I am the greatest and most amazing person on the planet, I know everything and everyone is a flea with no brain in my universe outlook: when in reality if those people step on a leggo they would cry like an infant who needs to be swaddled by their parents. Alison however, is about the only approachable person. She's been kind and helpful in every scenario, and it appears she actually does her job properly. I have been a member of this gym for about a year and really like it! Thecrquipment is nice and readily available. I also like that there is a big open area room to exercise in when workout classes are not in session. I did personal training with Amber for awhile and LOVED her. I highly reccomend training with her. She is caring, challenges you without being pushy, and cares about your safety while training. I only stopped training due to my own schedule issues but Amber still checks in on me when she sees me in the gym,has always been so supportive, and willing to answer any questions I might have.

Darcy Jones has been my personal trainer since June 2018. He provides great workouts which are setup individually for my goals. I can see and feel the results after each session. He emphasizes the importance of technique and form. Darcy adds a fun element to every workout to keep me motivated and working at my peak. He is the real deal - Darcy is thoughtful, caring, and tough in all the right measures. I would highly recommend him as a personal trainer.
