Can't say enough about how much I love Method! Every time you enter you are greeted with smiling faces and friendly motivated individuals. Method provides so many different options whether I am looking to fully push myself physically or just need a day of stretching and resetting. If your goals are to get fit and stay motivated in Somerset, I can vouch for this boutique fitness studio downtown. As a veteran group fitness instructor and personal trainer of over 20 years, I always seek out local places as I move around the country that offer a variety of group classes that feel holistic and full-body focused; Method uses the HIIT timer -- 45 seconds active, 10 seconds rest, I think? -- to organize most of their classes, providing a central thread to pull a diverse offering together structurally. Various styles of classes -- from Barre and Mat to Spin and (I'm sure) Reformer (though I don't attend those classes) -- cover ALL the bases: Spin and Circuit get my heart rate up into cardio zone easily and consistently, Barre and Mat classes keep me in active working zone (fat burn). Their Infrared Sauna also puts your heart rate in the active working zone while you're getting the fascia, skin, and muscle recovery benefits of the far infrared and light therapies. All of these services can be purchased as individual sessions at different price points or clients can become members to be able to book classes and sauna time with greater ease (as well as to gain access to the facility 24hr).

I have only two small issues that devalue my experience with this studio, and I've shared those privately with the owners.

Somerset is what I'd call a Fitness and Wellness Desert because there are extremely limited local amenities for those of us who prioritize healthy lifestyle choices. It can be hard in areas like this to find a place that anyone can begin to LEARN from day one; every body type can begin here, and every athlete can continue to grow here. Exercises can be ratcheted up and down in intensity to meet each new student where they are. The facility is well-equipped, from a treadmill and elliptical in their weight room to the showers in their bath and sauna spaces. Teachers know what they're doing. Classes run on time. You can attend a different style of class every workout day and you'll get in cardio, fat burn, resistance training, muscle fatigue, stretching, sprinting, jumping. All the things. I go here, do what I'm told for 45min, and then don't think about exercise the rest of the day because I know I've already got it all covered. I commend the Women who run this small-town studio for providing the kind of professional, effective, accessible fitness and wellness experience you'd expect to find in Lexington or Louisville right in the heart of Somerset, Kentucky.

Method is the only gym I’ve ever felt comfortable in. They make you feel like family and the variety of classes in one place is amazing. They have group classes, personal training, infrared sauna, massage therapist and an aesthetician on site. You not only work hard and build the body and health you desire but also relax and get pampered. Method has it all.

I'm raving about this studio to a fellow mom right now. I love the energy of the studio. It's very clean and zen. The barre classes with Sarah are exactly what I need. I explain it as the perfect work out. I did a reformer class today and it was marvelous, too. Meghan was super focused on our form and breathing which was incredibly helpful. In fact I am still using that breathing throughout my day and it helps me stay calm and relaxed. So happy to have found method.

After only a handful of classes at Method, I am confident in it being my workout home for years to come!

Sarah Leigh is one of the owners and the only reformer instructor that I have had classes with thus far. Sarah's approach during reformer pilates is simultaneously gentle and motivating. Her voice is calm and easy to listen to. Her instructions are clear and concise. She makes sure to kindly correct poor technique to ensure student safety. She also offers different levels of intensity of each movement to accommodate each student's current ability

The method team does a great job at constructing you on the movement and positions. Whenever I don't know what to do the instructor is right by my side to show me 1 on 1 so I don't feel left out. I was in town visiting friends at their lake house and found your studio. Dropped in for a Reformer Pilates class and brought my friend too, she has never done Pilates and SHE LOVED IT! She said Sarah made her feel comfortable and safe, her empowered that she could do it all. We really appreciated how Sarah took time with us, showed us around and visited with us as if she had nothing else to attend too. The classes were challenging but so doable! I am a Pilates instructor from West Texas and it was truly just so nice to come in and enjoy someone else’s classes. Great workouts (I can back for 2 more!) and beautiful studio!! I highly recommend it! And I’m a little sore today!! 🙌🏻

Personally, I think Method is a 10 out of 10 hands down!
As someone who has had 2 knee surgeries in my late teens early 20’s from sports injuries it has been a challenge getting back to 100% flexibility and strength in order to meet my fitness goals. Then here comes PILATES. As a man, like most men I come across, I was skeptical at first and always thought Pilates to be a women’s exercise class. However, I soon realized that to be so false!
Pilates has been a game changer in my ongoing recovery from my knee surgeries. The flexibility training coupled with resistance/strength exercises has allowed me to make more progress than I ever have in my fitness goals and become less injury prone. Also, to my surprise, when I started physical therapy in February of 2023 to aid in my preparation for a Half-Marathon I ran in May, most of my exercises were centered around a Pilates reformer. Go Figure!
To sum it up Pilates is for everyone! The Girls at Method are so knowledgeable and are there to help tailor the exercises to aid in satisfying your fitness needs. And to the men who may be skeptical, I encourage you to give it a try. Do at least 2 classes a week of either the Athletic Reformer or SWEAT Reformer classes for a month and you will undoubtedly see and, more importantly, FEEL the benefits. You body will thank you!

Hi. I’m Raina! method has been a place where I have found my health to come back again after months of chemo treatments and surgeries. Method is a place where you feel like family.
I have had the best time working out! It’s fun and I see results. It’s also a place I can go to no matter my health circumstances. On days I feel strong. They have options. On days where I am weak due to injury or surgeries. Or a chemo treatment they have options. I feel cared for.
