Dropped in for a guest pass visit, it was lovely to find that there was a HEATED indoor family pool. Two toilets were clogged in the ladies room but otherwise everything was clean and orderly. There were float boards and life jackets for use. Lifeguard present. The family pool was three feet to five feet deep.

We paid two months ago and signed up for soccer. We have not heard from anyone regarding what time practice starts tomorrow or where it will be held. I have not had anyone contact us about a time or place for practice. I have called, texted, emailed and left multiple messages. the parent portal has nothing on it. She is so disappointed about not playing.I wish I would have known this sooner.I would have never registered her for the YMCA. No wonder they don't have many kids that are playing this year. We attended the online meeting for the coaches and parents and we're still never given any information as to her team or coach. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this program for anyone else.

This location stole $250 from my family. In August 2024 we paid $250 for a Calypso Cove membership, we didn't go back again until June of this year (2025) where they told us we had not paid for access to Calypso Cove. Our bank account shows that we paid $250 to "Greater Louisville" and the phone number attached is for the "Greater Louisville YMCA Association". The membership director at this location said "it could have accidentally been paid to a different account" but they cannot find it anywhere. We have been denied a refund and also denied access to Calypso Cove. I have reached out to the administrative directors and heard nothing back. It is upsetting that we've been members here for 3 years with a $94/month membership and they assume we are lying about paying for something and refuse to give it to us. Our kids loved Calypso Cove, but someone at the desk of Northeast messed up somewhere and we have had ZERO help figuring it out!

Awesome for kids, but not for their friends. This policy of only being able to bring guests on non-weekends and non holidays is bananas. Also, you can’t just pay and bring them once - you have to buy a block of five passes for $75. Oh, and they expire each year. What the poo. The facility itself is great. I love the walk in pool that is mainly shallow. The splash pad seems to be out of service more than it’s in service though. Have noticed that trend over the past few years. Honestly, cool swim area, not with the money unless you do a ton of other stuff at the Y. Or if you actually want to bring a friend or family member. Horrible policy.

To be clear, I’m not reviewing the gym but the summer camp program. Last year my son attended and there were a lot of communication issues, such as not telling us we actually had to drop them off 25 minutes from the Y. This caused issues as I couldn’t leave work in time.

There were several instances my son got hit, bit, bullied, and had balls thrown at his head. He talked to the staff and they told him he was fine. I talked to them and they said they weren’t aware of it. He eventually cried every time he went. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of options for summer camp- and I was hoping this year would be better.

However, my first experience this was extremely negative. For starters, they are charging for camp 3 weeks before they attended, (plus the registration fees and $30 per week deposits collected at time of enrollment). I’m not aware of any company that charges the full price of their work 3 weeks before any work is completed. All of this should be communicated but is apparently somewhere in the fine print. I simply signed up on the website though- I never saw this anywhere.

Even worse- the day I went to drop off my son the staff, including the woman over it named Maggie was aggressive and rude to the point she made my son cry. I talked to her supervisor about it and sent over what she said, but Maggie’s friends said she behaved just fine and her supervisor upheld her actions. (It was extreme- I’d post it all here but there’s not room.)

They also left the kids sitting on the hot black asphalt for 45 minutes while I was there. I took my son home, cancelled the camp, (losing the money I already put down which was $471 before he even attended one day).

If you are bringing kids here make sure you drop off after the regular time so you can see how they really act. I do NOT trust my son going here.

I don’t know what to do for summer now but at least I know for certain my son would not have been safe there.

Joined today. Sauna is broken and the main reason I joined here was the sauna. Another member told me it works close to 80 percent of the time. Men’s locker room smells of mildew, is dirty, and worn out. I was a member years ago and remember seeing the same piece of chewing gum and other debris in the sauna for a couple of months. When I informed the staff I was told there was some mix up and the cleaning person didn’t realize the sauna was to be included in the regime. Based on the smell and looks of the lockers / locker room today, looks like an even bigger mixup is occurring. it’s time for a remodel and they need to make some investment in this place. I left about 15 minutes after I joined. Might try another area Y later today or tomorrow.

Northeast Y has always been a special place for me and my whole family, 6 of grandkids have been enrolled in daycare there and have always received EXCELLENT care , the staff there really care about the kiddos, My wife and I are Northeast Y members and facility and bathrooms are always clean and well maintained, easy to go in get your workout done with a lot of equipment to choose from. If I could give this Y a hundred stars, I would. My husband and I joined in order to participate in the Total Movement Class for people with Parkinson's Disease. Since then, we have become "gym rats," changing lifestyles almost 180 degrees. We are both retired and were leading VERY sedentary lives in front of the computer or tv set. With his diagnosis and the information that exercise is (so far) the only thing known to slow the progression of Parkinson's, we dove in wholeheartedly. We go to every Total Movement Class, play pickleball, use the swimming pool and fitness machines, and take classes at the Y. I would not trade this opportunity for ANYTHING. Huge thanks to Barb Millhollan and Ed Haymann for getting us moving with Parkinson's Total Movement! (If you have Parkinson's, the first 3 months are FREE - call Barb and ask about it!)

Never had issues with the kids club until recently. Today I made a reservation from 11:45 to one, I drive 8 miles to get there and got stuck in some traffic along the way. In the past, I would just cancel the reservation and adjust the time, all is well, even though their reservation system is such a pain to deal with. Today, I get there and I’m trying to adjust the time and they say there’s nothing until 1 o’clock. I understand capacities, but the worker, autumn informed me that this has been a new policy TODAY. Why is there no communication to let parents know? Why is there nothing stated on the reservations app that they make you do say anything? All the other ys don’t even make you do a reservation. On top of that, I have been very aggravated with the child care staff. On Thursday night, I went to pick up my kids and the young girl with blonde hair was sitting in chair with her friend of FaceTime. Seriously?! Luckily Norton Commons is right down the road and I can say that they actually do games and fun things with the kids.

I was shocked with their kids zone.
It is dirty and they don’t have enough staffs for many kids. They didn’t help my 2 years old son to find the toddler area.
And my 5 year old daughter played in a big kid area, but no one watched big kids.
I was just afraid to leave my kids so I picked up early, but they didn’t check if they are my kids or not. I don’t know how people send their kids to this place.

Today Saturday March 23 at 2:30 the kids were harassing my 5 years old son in the kids club, there were four kids were laughing and saying bad words and the youngest wiped the the paint face out of my son and while he is in the line again for another face paint the kid behind pinched my son and the kids club manager kicked my kid out the instead of the other kids leaving him crying to get the face paint again even why I asked her to wait for 5 minutes till he gets the face paint she refuses that, rude place unsafe for the kids

The daycare in the YMCA has been exceptional! Not only did they make my 1 year old with stranger danger feel comfortable, both my 3 year old and 1 year old never want to leave! Most workers know my children’s name by heart, and they always try to save a spot on the ride on buggy for my daughter who loves it! A special shout out to Jessica, my kids favorite daycare worker who my daughter always runs up to, and always makes sure my son gets involved with the arts and crafts which are his favorite!

I recently visited the YMCA Northeast with my kids, hoping for an enjoyable family outing at the swimming pool. Unfortunately, our experience took an unpleasant turn that left us deeply disappointed.

As my children were happily playing and having fun, an elderly lady abruptly yelled at them in a harsh and mean-spirited manner, demanding they be quiet. Her behavior was completely uncalled for, especially considering the fact that we were in the family pool area. If she desired a quiet environment, she should have reserved a spot in the lane pool instead.

Disturbed by this incident, I approached a rescue staff member to voice my concerns. However, rather than offering support or understanding, she instead defended the elderly lady's actions, stating that she had never behaved this way before. Her lack of empathy and failure to acknowledge the distress caused to my family was deeply disappointing.

In an attempt to address the issue, I requested to speak with the manager. After our conversation, I made the difficult decision to leave the premises. Regrettably, I am unsure of the actions taken by the management to address this matter.

The YMCA is supposed to be a welcoming and inclusive community center, fostering an environment where families can enjoy recreational activities together. However, the behavior exhibited by the elderly lady and the lack of support from the rescue staff has made me question the values and commitment to customer satisfaction at this particular branch.

I sincerely hope that the YMCA Northeast takes this incident seriously and implements measures to ensure that all patrons are treated with respect and kindness. It is disheartening to see such behavior in a place that should promote positivity and a sense of community.

I would caution potential visitors to be aware of the possibility of encountering such unpleasant incidents at this specific YMCA location

Northeast ymca is an amazing organization for families. The gym is big and spacious. There are lots of cardio machines, and weights. We especially love the supportive of kids club. My five-year-old loves going there. All the staff go above and beyond to keep kids happy and allow parents to work out. I feel very comfortable in their ability to take care of my kid.
