Had started coming to Florence after the remodel but recently have noticed just too many flaws in this. The bathrooms for one ALWAYS stink, there’s never been a time me or my wife was around the locker rooms and it didn’t stink like high heaven. I will say that they are usually pretty clean but the sewage smell is hard to get past. The new Vicki machines 9 times out of 10 charges people for more than what they actually got so then you have to stand there while the managers issue you a refund almost every single time. Anytime I’ve ever had to change something about my membership there’s a new person at the desk training that has no idea what is going on. Their turnover rate with employees compared to FT Wrights location seems a little odd? They’ve also always had an amazingly friendly staff that i’ve seen help so many customers but again with this turnover the new staff is EXTREMELY rude and passive aggressive. There isn’t hospitality at Florence the way their used to be and matter of fact the “boss man”, maybe a little over a month ago, this company had him standing there all day injured in an arm sling, I watched his employees help him take off a pen cap. Myself as well as a lot of other members were also given the luxury of free training classes with our membership, really big but very nice young man named Nick directed the classes and now suddenly we don’t have access to them we have to go to another location. Through the grape vine it’s being said that he was removed from Florence for a policy violation. It’s a violation of my policy to not have a trainer available at this gym now. Machines are almost always dirty as well, dust, hair, lint, I mean this place used to be so clean! It’s disappointing as a customer who has spent about a decade coming to planet fitness to see such a good and strong gym not be that way anymore.

Not a horrible gym, but not a great one. They've recently remodeled and added more free weight options. They've added power/squat racks with deadlift platforms so you can bench, squat and deadlift. They've also added lots of new machines such as chest press, hack squat and chest supported row. However, it doesn't seem to matter whether I go at 5 pm or 9 pm the gym is always full.

Very helpful, courteous, and friendly staff! This location is by far is the best one I've been to. They have offer personal training, has multiple equipments and machines to adhere to your physical needs, they offer tanning total body enhancement and massage chairs and beds, and also have amenities available for your hydration and tanning needs.

In the very early hours on May 10th, 2025, we were driving home to Tennessee from Wisconsin. We were very tired and looking for a place to stop and sleep. I googled businesses that allow over night parking. Planet fitness came up. We thought Planet Fitness would be a safe place, so we stopped. We first drove through the parking lot looking for signs that may have stated “no overnight parking” There are none. I have pictures of the parking lot that proves this. We were awaken by aggressive pounding on the side of our motor home. We were told to leave and advised they didn’t want to call a tow company on us. We apologized and told them we would leave right away. Before leaving we had to try and remove not one but three green and very sticky violation stickers. One was placed in the middle of our windshield, one placed on the side window and one on the rear of the motorhome.There is no way without a ladder of reaching the windshield to fully remove the sticker. As far as the one on the side window, there’s no way to fully remove that one either. The one on the rear came off pretty easy. Another was laying on the ground. We will get them fully removed when we arrive home. This is a brand new motorhome! The actions of planet fitness was and is very unnecessary. I have photos if you are interested in seeing them.

Wowww, I came here today due to Ft wright power going out and let me just say this gym is a lot, lot better. They have equipment Fort Wright doesn’t have, Bathrooms are 10 times cleaner I mean, immaculate. The sink doesn’t stink when you turn it on and for some reason, it’s a lot brighter in the inside like they use different lights. Ft wright gym needs to step it up nowwww!

I literally cannot express how consistently humid and hot this gym is. The windows let the hot sun beat down on you the whole evening, mixed with the fact that it’s generally kept around probably 85° in there with just fans going. Been to PF all over the country. This one is definitely one of the best managed.

The equipment are very strategically placed, they have extra smith machines and some other nice ones like standing calf raises, bench press etc. they even have a secondary dumbbell area which splits the crowd at the main dumbbell rack- very smart and helpful.

Besides that the crowd here is very affluent. So is the staff.

The only complaint I’ve had over the past few weeks is that one of the water refill station is always down.

But overall, this location outdid the PF standards

Well I used to like to go to this location for the tanning beds. And it was nice and I have the kiosk app so I just see what was available to go tan. Well I went to start my tanning back because I take a break doing winter and found out that is no longer option. I am very disappointed because now they want you to drive all the way there to tan. This is not fair we pay for the perks and now can’t use it. I pay to tan and now I can’t be guaranteed I can tan. If you offer tanning in black card then yes feel they need a system so we can get on the app and tan for the times we want.

Great gym. Huge. Lots of great equipment. Staff is friendly. Locker rooms are clean and have the best set up for showers. I go all over the country as a driver and this is definitely in the top 3 planet fitnesses out of the hundreds that I’ve been in. Planet fitness please make all your shower set ups like this. It’s private, we can get undressed right at each shower, nice shower heads, good drainage(no water everywhere like many locker rooms). My only suggestion would be to put more clothes hooks in the ladies locker rooms for those showering but this gym should be the standard for all of them. Keep up the good work!

Your hours are officially horrible. There are a ton of places in this zip code that are open with people working late. Being so close to the airport with all major shipping and hospital businesses in the area all open all night you think this could stay open 24 7. I ended up cancelling bc you charged me over 40 a month for 6 months straight saying my card wouldn't go through..but the second time it sure did and you made sure to steal my money bc your memberships are down. When I tried to get this fixed you don't want to give anything back..and even after I almost kept it anyway you told me BYW your annual fee is now coming out next month for another 60$. I give up. Cross country truck driver here… this is probably the best planet fitness I’ve been to in the country. They have machines that no other location has. Only issue is parking a semi is a problem. Most parking lots have signs saying no trucks and the gym parking lot is too small. I parked across the street in the strip mall parking lot and didn’t see any signs

My preferred gym is ESPORTA because of its judgement free environment and variety of equipment + other amenities. Nevertheless, I decided to try Planet Fitness because its closer and have been going there for 2 years, Only for a new manager to approach me stating the my String Muscle Shirt (look it up) is inappropriate. I FINISHED MY WORKOUT CAN CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. It’s always best to add value than to be seen. Sometimes it’s better to add value than to try to make an impression., Your rules allow for sport bra and crop top (look it up , it’s on your website). Leggings, hoochie short etc. It’s a gym not a corporate office.wrong industry my guy. Some patrons want to see muscle growth while working out., see that definition, make corrections etc.. that what a string muscle shirt is for.. Don't try to fix what is not broken. He was also proud to highlight that “a manager” can make adjustment to the rule as he deems fit. I honestly felt it was discrimination and it just turned me off from all planet fitness. So much for the “JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE”.🤦🏽‍♂️

Here is my take after being a member over 10 yrs here. The main concern I have is that employees do not enforce their own policy of "letting people work in". In fact its posted on signs throughout the facility. However the clientele they attract loves to sit on machines and dabble on their phone for long periods of time during PEAK HOURS. This is unacceptable. The culture needs to be the opposite and staff should get away from behind the desk and walk around and enforce this policy. Last night I waited 10 minutes for an ab machine until I finally asked the woman how much longer she had. She said "10 more mins" and went back to playing on her phone. I was not happy. The bad thing is that this happens all the time. What the manager should do is empower their staff to walk around and enforce this. Ive seen fights almost break out because of this. LISTEN MANAGEMENT: I have an idea. Every member must read and initial the policy of allowing people to work in and not occupy machines for long periods of time; esp during peak hrs. Maybe have a new member orientation?? Please get people off their phones, and up from equipment so others can use them.

After 10 plus years of taking my autistic son to this location , the judgement free zone caused my son to melt down. For many years we have used the lure of using the tanning bed as reward for working out. Today, after years of it being ok, we were told I could not sit in the tanning room with my son. The new manager had no concern for the effec he was having on my special needs son. I will be reaching out to Planet fitness corporate in hopes that they do not support this judgement and denial of service to those with special needs.

I have been coming here to work out for the summer since I am on break from college. The other day, my car keys fell into the side of the locker, falling ~5 feet. I had no idea how to get it out so I called the manager, Derick I believe was his name, and he was amazing! He tried to retrieve the keys for about 20 minutes with no luck and told me he would call maintenance and I could get my keys back the next day. I finally got my keys back the next day and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. The manager came in swiftly and helped me in every way he could. I am so glad that the PF in Florence has such great management, I could not be happier! Thank you to the kind manager, he really made my day!

All the usual workout equipment is available, clean and well maintained. (I'm a truck driver so I see a lot of the PF locations) The Florence PF on mall st is a fantastic location at only 1 mile from the truck stop it's easy for me to park the semi and step out for a quick workout.

The woman's locker room is 10/10! Great water pressure, perfect temperature control, plenty of room. The layout is a little bit of a maze which adds a feeling of safety for me.

The staff were great. I hope they're allowed to use the equipment while on duty.

Avoid…..always horribly overcrowded and not worth whatever you might be saving. If you enjoy waiting for machines and benches to open up completely killing the flow of your workout, then $10 a month is for you. Otherwise spend a few extra dollars and get a quality workout experience elsewhere.

Everyone keeps to themselves so if you are self conscious and a little scared of going don't be worried. Just focus on what you need to do. I will warn you if you decide to use the massage chairs. I felt pretty uncomfortable when it was focusing on my glutes, and I had to laugh at how ridiculous the whole situation was. I left it on standard so if something like that bothers you should be able to change the settings.

Not a big fan of them deleting my last review but it was outdated. I was coming back to update it. I don’t go here anymore but the staff was always nice and the gym is always clean. Overpopulated

I guess it's good for the price. There's tanning, but the bed kept shutting off after a few minutes and the staff didn't know how to fix it. There's massage chairs, but some of the staff didn't know how to start them. After a while I found one who did. The exercising part went as expected, and the place was pretty clean. And the last thing to note is I almost slipped twice because the floors are some gray material that doesn't look wet when it definitely is. When I realized the whole floor was wet and not just one spot, I looked around and saw someone mopping on the other end of the building. So be careful of your step!
