Best gym in the region, by far!
Excellent facility, ample, enourmous windows letting sun light in, magnificent view of some Kentucky rolling hills. Early in the morning the fog and low clouds inspire any and all exercise enthusiasts. Staff is polite, knowledgeable and ready to help.
No contract (I love that freedom!) And definitely unbeatable monthly cost. I think Planet Fitness, that facility in particular, and the one closest to us in Newport KY, are an excellent value equation for us, the clients. Thank you!!

Joined as a black card member and the staff have been super friendly and helpful! The gym is usually pretty clean, though treadmills look like people pour liquid on them as they’re running or something. Equipment has been in good shape and there is usually something open even when they are very busy. The traffic-meter would be nice to show real time data, I was there the other day and there wasn’t a single parking spot, the place was packed, but the traffic meter showed it not that busy (I guess it works on historic projections over real-time data). I have my kids in the summer program and they enjoy going.

Have been a member for almost a year and watch these locations continue to get worse. They all seem to allow teenagers to take over and use multiple machines, or older participants who have to sit on machines for ongoing lengths of time well they discuss everything. And don’t forget the bros who have to take over every mirror and record in the bathroom. Once my first year is up I will certainly not be renewing, this place is a joke. Locker room’s are gross and always smell of weed.

The bathroom are disgusting staff never cleans them but you will have 5 guys standing at the counter 2 hours straight everyday same time never cleaning. At least do 30 min bathroom checks.Might start going to florence I dislike using the restroom now.

I love this gym. My only issue may seem petty but it's really becoming a problem. When you walk in the front door the staff always has the bar code scanner facing the front doors. It's not cool at all to shine those lasers in people's eyes. I've brought it to their attention 3 times including 1 time when I talked with a manager on duty. They all know they aren't supposed to leave those scanners on the counter. Nobody seems to care because they all continue to do it. Even when it's not on the counter the employees pick it up and point it right at your face. It's really making me upset now. The scanners should be mounted and facing down. I can place my phone under it to scan. Absolute negligence at this point to continue shining a laser in people's eyes. Really it could be considered assault because the scanner comes with a manufacturer warning about the harm they can do to the eye.

I circled the parking lot for 7 straight minutes today. Never got a spot, so I left. If you cannot provide enough parking for your members, to the point where they can't even work out (disrupting their routine and potentially having significant impact on the members health), you need to give us refunds. I came to the gym. I did my part. You did not do yours. I pay for full access to your gym. But if I cant park, then I cant get what I am paying for because of your lack of preparation. I am publicly and officially demanding a refund for the entire month of January due to your inability to provide what is needed for your members.

I’ve updated my review from 1 to 3 stars. The gym has gotten a lot cleaner. I’ve noticed one of the front desk employees, always the same person, going around scrubbing things. The gym staff is still very lax about encouraging gym goers to spray and wipe down equipment after use.

The other prior issue has been mostly addressed. Some of the equipment was old and not maintained. Many machines have been replaced and you don’t see equipment down for repair as often now.

Love the location of this PF. You can look down on the small valley of Fort Wright with the big floor windows that they have.
Equipment wise is pretty new and clean. But they only 1 straight bar for cable machines. And I hate their elliptical machine, they have the gliding type and feels very odd.

It's really nice and the people also are . But the handicap shower hasn't worked the last few weeks I've been there. Just had an out of order sign.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ which sucks cause I tried a chair in one of the regular ones 2 weeks ago and of course busted my knee up pretty bad. You know you old when you fall in the shower.. 😩

The new cardio equipment seems annoying. I come in every day I can and I normally run on the elliptical, so I can review that best. The new ones have smaller cup holders by just a few millimeters, so if you have an extra large water bottle that only barely fit before it won't fit now. They seem to either be lighter or less stable because they shake more when running. Finally, and this is purely taste, I think the displays aren't as easy to read and navigate though that might be a bias on my part. There are also dramatically fewer of them. I know it seems nit picky, but not being able to have my water in front of me during a run is a fairly big annoyance. It's none of the employees' fault, but I do think PF annoyed a specific part of its clientele with the new equipment and I'd like to voice that.

Update: They brought in a bunch of nice, new machines, replacing the bikes I was not impressed with in my previous review. Going back to giving 5 stars!

I used to brag about this place, but for months now most of the bikes on the second level don't have foot straps, which makes them unusable. I don't understand why these are not replaced. It seems to be a simple thing that would make machines usable again. I don't talk up this gym anymore for these reasons.

A positive is that the spray bottles to wipe down machines are consistently filled as well as the paper towels. Staff always greet you when you arrive and leave.

It's a good place to workout, there is alot of different Machines to use and alot of Smith machines, 2 floors, lots of Cardio Machines. I just wish they was 24 hrs everyday instead of only mon-thurs but all in all it's a good spot. It's not my daily gym but mine isn't open on the weekends

Every time I come here the Smith machines are all taken up and I end up waiting usually 20 minutes while people sit on phones use the bathroom leaving the machines the come back and kick you off. Front desk does nothing. Many people here have no gym etiquette and get away with it!

By far the MOST AMAZING Planet Fitness I've been to!! My husband is an OTR truck driver and we've visited many Pfs in several different states! Some are nice, some are horrible, but this one we absolutely loved! Very clean, staff was very helpful, and 2 floors of fitness choices! Parking was easy for a semi, however during peek times the road leading to the parking area could be complicated. The road isn't very wide and oncoming traffic could cause a semi some issues. Definitely will visit this gym when we are in the area!

Avoid the Fort Wright location if possible. It's my "home club" but I rarely go there, preferring instead to go to Newport KY, where the people are far more friendly. The staff at Fort Wright is virtually useless. They will let you stand at the counter waiting for a hydromassage chair while they scroll social media on their phones, and they have no idea how to be friendly. Customer service at this location is non-existent. While the facility might be nice, don't let it fool you. Between the unhelpful staff and the constant water and ice in the parking lot (that will cause you to fall and break your neck), it's a terrible experience overall.

This branch fraudulently charged my girlfriend's card on file over $200, and double-bill her on her monthly charge :( The regional manager is ghosting me via email and though the front desk always "leaves him a message" he never gets back to me. It's been months. Not very good customer service in my experience.

The manager hates truck drivers. Probably loves that toilet paper and muscle shakes we deliver to his favorite retail stores. I drive a semi for a living and have been a member of Planet Fitness for 10 years. Planet Fitness provides a means for me to stay heart healthy and get a shower. It’s the only luxury I have when I am away from home and family. Despite the fact I parked in the back lot and only bobtailed in which means brought with me no trailer I was twice told my kind isn’t welcome here. Used excuses like parking area (there’s literally every space of 40 on the lot I’m currently on still wide open while I take up 1. The manager sends his really kind and considerate staff out to do his bidding I presume because of he or she’s own cowardice, it’s very disappointing to be discriminated in this way. The facility and staff are a 5 star but the manager being a 1 drops the overall down to a 3 star

We recently Canceled our membership to a local fitness center. After dinner, my eight year old son, and I walked in. I wanted to take a quick tour of the club. Immediately opening the front doors, there was an awkward face from the front desk worker she looked at us and said what how old is he? I responded. My son is eight. She said oh well it is illegal for him to be past the front desk. And he can’t stay up here while you take a tour. Awkwardly, I broke the tension with OK. Good night. And walked out.

Not to mention the fact, they’re parking lot was so busy that they could not monitor the handicap parking. Absolute disaster.

while I like the cardio equipment, being on the second floor, the dumbbell area is cramped. there doesn’t seem to be enough space especially during a peak time. enjoy this location but if you want to Smith machine or dumbbells, you have to plan pretty well to make sure it’s not high volume times.

We have tried Crunch and Esporta in the area, and this gym is so much cleaner! The culture encourages cleanliness among gym patrons which I greatly appreciate. The gym manager Derick is the best gym manager in the area -hands down. He kindly solves customers problems and goes above and beyond for members. He was able to fix a problem I (accidentally) created for my account while I was working out! Highly recommend.

I drive a big charter bus for a living and workout on the road a lot. Which means I only have this big bus as means for transportation. I've traveled to many PF across the Unite States and not one has had a problem with me parking the bus there, at least that was the case until today. The district manager or whatever his title was got his panties in a bunch and sent out a henchmen to tell me that. Wasn't even man enough to tell me himself, the parking lot was not full and I did not take up room closest to the building. I parked as far away as possible. Dude needs to grow a pair

One complaint I have is they have installed a new bench and it is night and day compared to the other five benches. It would make a world of difference if during the time they close the gym, maybe take apart the older benches for some maintenance

I actually went to close my account unfortunately 😕 but I cannot wait to go back! Love planet fitness. It's worth it for every level of fitness unless you're one of them huge weight lifting dudes that scream and throw the weights down. They don't allow that. The setup is great and workout area is clean. The employee was very helpful and nice. However, the tanning bed I used definitely needed new bulbs. It’s like I didn’t even go and I used the 1050. I basically wasted that 20 minutes of my life. I also noticed the room I was in was a bit dusty.
