So several months ago this facility was under remodel. The did not have any access to the tanning beds for several months. That was the only reason I was paying for the black card so that I could go to tan. I went into the store and they explained what was happening and offered to lower my bill because I explained I was not going to pay for something that they could not give me. So they lowered my account to the basic gym membership about $15 a month. I then explained that I wasn't actually coming to the gym to work out I was only using it to tan so they said they could freeze my account until the remodel was done. I walked away feeling good about the situation because I saved myself money while keeping my account in good standing frozen until I came back. Needless to stay they continue to charge me every month. So I called the store. The guy I spoke to was pretty rude and he told me that I did not freeze my account and there was nothing he could do about it I asked if I could talk to the owner or a manager and he explained he was a manager and that the owner would not care. I told him I did not want to have an account with them anymore then he said I needed to come in and take care of that. I explain why I came in before to have my account frozen and that didn't happen and I'm not available to come in. I just simply don't want to do business with them anymore. I've literally been coming there for years and will never come in there ever again now. So months and months later they are still trying to get money from me every month. I have permanently blocked this merchant from my card and getting all of my money returned. MORAL OF THE STORY? IF YOU CAN'T LIVE UP TO YOUR END OF THE CONTRACT AND SOMEONE'S PAYING FOR SERVICE YOU CANNOT PROVIDE SUCH AS TANNING BEDS YOUR CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH HOOPS TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT THEIR ACCOUNT IS FROZEN UNTIL YOU HAVE TANNING BEDS AGAIN. WHILE CONTINUALLY CHARGING SOMEONE AFTER THEY'VE REQUESTED THEIR ACCOUNT TO BE FROZEN. NONE OF THIS IS MY FAULT AND YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANOTHER DIME DOLLAR OR TIME FOR ME EVER AGAIN.
I imagine I'm not the only customer that's gotten screwed over at this location. It's a shame you can hide behind a corporate name when they don't know what you're doing with their customers as well. I will never use planet fitness ever again simply because of one merchant.

The gym is alright. The workers are generally friendly college kids, but the equipment’s NFC readers that connect to Apple Watches are incredibly inconsistent. Half of the equipment has it installed and half doesn’t. Super frustrating.
Furthermore, the gym needs more smith machines and definitely some barbells. It’s frustrating to go to the gym to wait for weights after bouncing around from treadmill or elliptical to another to try to track my workout with my Apple Watch.

I edited my review to reflect two stars rather than three due to the incredibly unhelpful reply I received from the “owner.” As a stakeholder in the success of the franchise, maybe whoever is responding to reviews should, I don’t know, pass the message along to the appropriate person at the very least?

Great gym, but would be nice if staff was constant at their job. Tan here all the time 90% of the time I never get asked for eye wear. But every now and then they wanna push that rule. As a 40 year old man I should be grown enough to make my own choice on eye wear. I’ve never worn eye wear and have been a tanner since I was 16. Just kinda stupid to push that one rule.

Extremely rude staff, if ask them a question they will start arguing with you. Looks like they are frustrated from their job. Telling a customer that this gym is not right fit for you go somewhere else because they just asked you about a rule is very disrespectful.
I started coming to this gym only because it's very nearby to my house. This gym doesn't have enough equipment, not safe if you like lifting heavy weights. No bands nothing. Also, the staff does not like people who like working out more professionally.
No doubt I didn't see any professional lifter here.
The staff doesn't have basic etiquette how to address an issue. I started working out in this gym few days back, I like doing my matt exercises without shoes because I a deformity which doesn't allow me to wear shoes for a longer period of time. I was doing that on daily basis, trying to be comfortable with the gym because I am new. A staff came to me and asked me "do you mind wearing your shoes". Which was extremely rude. When I asked for explanation and went to the reception for some explanation. Other staff jumps in and told me this is not right gym for you. I believe that guy is either racist and have some personal issues with me. He started arguing with me and I ended up cancelling my membership. I never face such racism before.

Visiting from out of town, and tried to use redlight therapy. Was told I had to purchase eye protection (even though I came 3 days ago and was simply given eye protection saying it was a state policy) When I relayed that info they said they just started charging and gave me the eyewear saying don't worry about it this visit. But then after getting into the room and ready to use the machine, found they hadnt bothered to turn it on. Rather passive aggressive and a waste of my time.

Side note, machines are standard, but only 2 showers available and no hot water during my visit.

I’ve been going to various PF locations 5 days a week for over 9 years. I traveled 12 miles to the 2nd street location specifically for leg day because they were one of the few locations left with a lying down leg curl machine. I was shocked to find out after the remodel this machine was taken out and not replaced with something comparable. Even the old stand up glute machine was gone (the new one is not as adjustable). On a positive note the PF trainer offered to show me some hamstring/glute exercises. I told him no thanks I had plenty of those I just really missed the way the lying down leg curl targets those muscles.
Both the trainer and the young girl who checked me in were friendly. This location is now cleaner and more spacious since the remodel, but there is nothing here to draw me to this location any more. I also was in disbelief there is only one seated leg extension machine, one seated leg curl, and one inner and one outer of the seated leg machines. And one double rope attachment for the entire gym (no single rope attachments at all). I’m wondering who is making decisions for this gym. It is not very functional.

The water temp in the Men's Showers never gets hot, actually I wouldn't even say they get warm, the water is down right cold. It's not the water heater or hot water pump.
This location put small governors on the shower fixture to keep you from turning it to a hot setting. Unbelievable. Have never seen any other planet fitness do this.

Will not cancel your membership no matter what you do or say. I canceled in person and continued to get charged. I canceled again in person and again continued to get charged. Now I live in freakin Texas and they still charge me and refuse to cancel my membership unless I cancel in person. They have been stealing money from me for over a year and now I have to spend even more money on a lawyer to resolve this. This is simply criminal. Btw, i’m having the exact same experience with the lexington branch. This gym seems cheap but you will end up paying more than twice as much as you bargained for.
