About the Club

SHALA is more than a place where we practice yoga; it is a community of people who have committed to practicing together week after week. We also offer public and drop-in classes and courses. We support each other in yoga, but also in our lives. We care about each other's growth as individuals and about the community we treasure.
We created SHALA for us to gather, relax, commune, heal and find ease. We also offer workshops from experts in numerous modes of natural healing from yoga to Jin Shin Jyutsu to sound bathing and more.

Not only is this an amazing space, but the environment is tranquil and full of positive energy. Lissa is an amazing and thoughtful instructor - every class is a joy that continues until the next one.

Yoga at Shala has truly saved my life through some major transitions: retirement, the pandemic, crippling grief from the loss of family members, and more. It has not only healed my body, mind and spirit, it has made me stronger than I’ve been in years-in spite of the aging process. It’s a great place to be.

Lissa Simms and Shala will change your life for the better. Never has there been a kinder, more welcoming yogi to guide your practice, and because she has the magical gift of creating community all around her, it's far more than just a yoga studio.

Yoga with Lissa offers everyone the opportunity to practice in the way that resonates with their body that day. A non-competitive yoga practice which is what true yoga is all about.

It’s a joy to practice yoga with Lissa and the rest of the Shala community. The space is beautiful and the practice is both challenging and restorative. Lissa is a natural teacher who encourages you to stretch yourself physically and spiritually while remaining true to your own physical and spiritual needs.

I’ve been practicing with Lissa for years and am so happy to be in this new space. Shala is such a beautiful space for yoga flow with the hardwood floors and big windows. It takes your practice to another level!
Shala is more than just the space too. When you join the classes regularly, you’ll become part of the community.
The best part of Lissa’s classes is that she always encourages you to be in the present and move at your own pace.
