I decided to edit my review. I focused before on how nice everyone is (customers and employees alike), and how well Casey keeps me safe. However, I've realized that it's rooted more deeply than simply kindness and care.

Sol has a culture of respect. As someone who is and has been overweight for my entire life I have been met with numerous accusations of laziness when I express pain. Numerous instances of being pushed to the point of injury instead of to my personal maximum. Sol staff treat me like an adult who is always doing my best. You would think respect is a given anywhere, but at Sol it truly is a given.

Sol respects people regardless of gender, sex, sexuality, race, religion, physical ability, intellectual ability, experience, motivation level, weight, and attitude.

Dropped in for a Pilates class with Sunny on my trip for a friend’s wedding and absolutely loved the class. Sunny explained every step before it happened, made sure to establish a mind body connection, and gave various options for each of the exercises. Such a lovely and inclusive environment. If I lived here, I’d be going every day.

I did a drop in workout with my cousin while I was in town. Sunny was extremely personable and customized the workout to what my body needed! I've been a member of Sol Fitness for a little over two months now and I've seen and felt the change in my mobility and performance. I transitioned to Sol and the small group classes after two years of solo training and most recently competing in a body building competition. I was looking for a gym community and also wanted to learn ways to maintain good nutrition and improve my mobility and performance. Sol Fitness has been the space for that! Many places claim to be inclusive, but as a nonbinary person there are so many fitness spaces where I'm having to educate folks or am constantly being misgendered. Sol demonstrates inclusivity and care through the language they use (both conversational and during training) and the overall affirming gym environment. Highly recommend.

When I came to Sol about 6 months ago, I wanted to be stronger and feel more confident in overcoming personal anxieties of going to a gym by myself. I stumbled into the most loving and healing space I’ve ever encountered.

Sol is so much more than just a gym. It’s healing. Its transformation. It’s community.

Physical and emotional trauma have harmed my body in many ways. I’ve always thought that healing those pieces of myself lived in separate camps. Here amidst this community of healing and transformation, I stand corrected. There’s so much more threaded into what I thought was just “fitness”: an alignment of the mind, body, and soul.

I’m so grateful to Sunny for seeing my goals from that first discovery session and transforming that vision; all my love for Coach Mary for pushing me to see that I’m more than my fears and continuing to put up with me multiple times a week; all my love for Steph whose warmth and encouragement seem to come at the perfect moment; to all the staff, coaches, members, and guests who are always so warm and welcoming—you all enhance this space in the most beautiful, energy-filled ways!

Sol Fitness is hands down one of the most supportive, inclusive, and special spaces I’ve ever been part of. The staff truly meets you where you are, physically, mentally, and emotionally. They’re incredibly aware of what each person needs, whether that’s guidance on stretching, adjusting movements, or just encouragement on a hard day. The coaches are amazing! Each one brings something different but incredible to the table, and they all genuinely care about helping you grow.

There are options for personal training or small group classes, so it’s super flexible. Plus, they offer a variety of different class types and times to fit into any schedule.

And let’s be honest—Kaya is the real MVP. She’s the emotional support, empath gym dog, and the heart of Sol. Her sweet and calming presence makes every workout and day better.

I have enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of that I have received in my almost a year of being a part of Sol Fitness. I have enjoyed my personal trainer staff. There has been no pressure. They listen to what I want to accomplish and we are working to get there at my pace. I have had some life set backs and they have work through them with me. I am so grateful for my oldest daughter Sara and my wife Debbie for giving me this Great Father's day gift last year. Leading me to Sol Fitness was the best. I have a long way to go but, I am a lot better than I was a year ago.

I love working with Kris and Mia at Sol. From my first encounter with Sol's website, I knew this was a place I'd feel comfortable working out. That first impression was confirmed when I met with Sunny to discuss my goals - it was clear that Sol supports people from all backgrounds and bodies of all sizes. Mia and Kris are warm and tough (which is exactly what you want in a personal trainer). I feel stronger and more confident in my body and have never felt any pressure that I should try to be smaller or look different. I want to start this review by saying that I was never very active all of my adult life. I lived with aches, pains and constant discomfort. I was really insecure about my health, and I got injured almost every time I tried to workout before I came to Sol.

Now I'm actually keeping muscle on my body. I feel strong for the first time in my entire life. And I constantly do things most 40 year olds would say they're "too old" for. I swear I'm getting younger 😂

Sol has been incredible for my mental and physical wellbeing. I've worked with Sunny, Casey, and Kris - and taken classes with Erin too! I really love everyone, and they all have something so different to offer. Each trainer will (gently) challenge you in different ways.

The energy at Sol is always like walking into the best, sunniest day you ever had. And everyone truly listens. The genuinely care about you as a person. Even if you're weird, or hyper, or just a little all over the place -- they embrace you and let you be yourself.

Though we are still in the early stages of our fitness journey with Sunny and the Sol team, this has been a transformative and informative 2 months as we have started the process of becoming stronger and healthier. Sunny and her team have created what is probably the most welcoming and approachable environment to train in the entire Lexington area.

They meet you where you are at, build you a customized plan, and help you get stronger and more educated about your body with each session. I am trying to overcome a recent injury and improve my mobility, while my wife is trying to get stronger and prevent the recurrence of her past joint issues. Sunny workouts and teaching integrate both of these goals seamlessly and I leave feeling both stronger and more educated each time. I have finally found the trainer and community I have been looking for.

Can't recommend them enough and I hope you will take the chance to come out and see what Sol Fitness is all about.

Everyone at SOL Fitness has been amazing. They have become a valued Community Partner of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky. We are grateful for their partnership and their support of promoting healthy movement, mindfulness, and confidence among our population. Sunny is truly a ray of sunshine and is very in tune with people's energy and personalities. She is able to motivate others in a beautiful and genuine way. Casey is such an amazingly special person also. We were thrilled with the classes she customized for DSACK, and her genuine connection with our individuals with Down syndrome. She offered adapted options and engaging team work that challenged our class physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. She balanced so many things and was so in tune to our participants' personalities and strengths, etc. We were thrilled, are scheduling another class, and we are optimistic that we are setting the groundwork for healthy lifestyle commitments that will last a lifetime.

My day job is very physically demanding and dangerous, and I've sustained a few chronic injuries due to it along the way. After reaching a point of feeling trapped in my own body due to these injuries and their limitations, a friend recommended that I reach out to Sunny Bayne at Sol Fitness - Sunny has also experienced injury and has successfully trained herself past them. After my initial consult with Sunny, I was cautiously hopeful - feeling heard in my journey to health and strength had been difficult, but I immediately felt seen in my first sessions with Sunny and Casey. I can't articulate the feeling of liberation and independence that come from working closely with trainers who are patient, empathetic and caring, while also pushing you to be stronger and improve. Not only have I covered a huge amount of ground in my strength journey (and there's still so much progress to be made still!), I have also been welcomed into the most wonderful group of strong like-minded and supportive men and women I've ever had the chance to meet. With every milestone or accomplishment, no matter how big or small, we're cheering one another on and celebrating as if we also just achieved that goal. Sunny's scientific approach to training and lifting have been exactly what I needed, and Sol has tons of resources to approach wellness from every possible angle. December 9, 2022 marked a year exactly on my intense workout journey and also a year exactly of being with Sunny and her gym! I have grown so much and Sunny has worked with me through all of my varying complications and ever changing physical goals. Adjusting based off my whimsical and often fleeting goals in my journey. Through all the indecisiveness with my goals and wants for my physical body, there is one thing that has remained me. And the best way I can say it in my own words, is intoxicating desire to push myself and stay active. When I started with sunny, I was a bit unsure about with expressing all the things I wanted, but after spending only a few moments with her, felt safe and let everything I was so reserved about sharing out.finding somewhere that made me feel comfort and peace of mind knowing I would not be judged or resíguele for who I am and someone that was accepting of me. When Sunny moved and opened her Gym I felt that same trust and comfort feom the whole Sol Fitness team! ❤️ Sunny is more than just a personal trainer for me, she is a friend, a therapist, a source of joy every time I see her, and above all… The Radiating Sun(ny) when you are in the gym with her, pushing you forward in both mental, physical and personal life, but when you leave the “Bayne” of your existent because she makes sure you have that delightful buen from working out that keeps me going to the gym! Sol Fitness, and Sunny specifically, have been absolutely outstanding. As someone who struggles with exercise motivation, I actually ENJOY going to my class at Sol at 630 am. The thing that sets Sol apart is they look at the WHOLE person and have helped me immensely in my flexibility, strength, and goals towards my goals as a stronger hiker and backpacker. As someone with scoliosis as well, the knowledge of the trainers at Sol have helped me to adapt workouts and movements to be the best for ME and my body. I’ve known Casey for over 15 years and have always known her to be an extremely kind-hearted person who care about people. Her kind and gentle nature, combined with her passion for teaching, makes her the perfect personal trainer!
