We had the best time celebrating my son's birthday at the academy. The venue is clean, amazing for kids and parties. I can't recommend the academy enough. 10/10.

We celebrated a 5 year olds birthday party here. The kids loved it, main party room was setup perfectly. Gym equipment was clean and in good condition. Day before party I was emailed party confirmation, times and room. The employee at the front desk was helpful and made sure things moved accordingly. Overall great party!

My daughter loves going for the after school care. John is awesome and obviously loves kids and treats them like his own. I love it! I knew from day one she would love him and his staff once she got away from being shy. We are now back for year 2! Truly a 2nd family. 🩷

Was there for my granddaughters birthday party and we were informed that we had to share the space so some cheerleader could practice their stunts. When the place was booked no one ever said anything about sharing facility space( it is a small gym) All the kids where under 8 and it just made me uncomfortable having stunting going on in an area where there were young children. The lady said that it in the contract that they may book others but the whole time they were booking us it was made to sound like we’d have the facility for our 2 hours(our party time) I don’t like mixing kids with strangers when they are so young. So I won’t be renting or recommending to anyone. This is clearly a detail they should openly disclose up front not make me search for it.

We had my daughter’s birthday party here a few weeks ago. First off, when I tried to contact them to book I called multiple times per day for a week as well as texting with no response. Finally, I got through to them and was able to book. The day before the party, we received the flow chart saying her party would be in the main party room. When we got there the next day, we were told we were actually in the treehouse room next door. This room is not attached to the main gym. There was a whole other party going on in the main party room. This was very confusing to parents attending our party. They showed up and thought they were at the wrong party because there was a whole other party going on in the only room they knew about. No one knew where to put their gifts because they weren’t told where to even go when they arrived. When the kids for our party were playing in the gym, for the first 30 minutes there were 15-20 kids from the other party playing in the gym. Finally, that party left. The new party room was fine, but I wouldn’t have chosen that room had I known it wasn’t attached to the main gym so kids and parents had to go outside to get drinks when they were thirsty/eat pizza/etc. I do wish this had been told to me before hand. Overall, the kids had fun. But had I known the situation I would have not booked here and definitely wouldn’t book here again. I’ve been to several parties at this location in the past and there were never other parties actually playing at the same time as another.

Everything was great! Our party room was the new tree house room and my only recommendation would be to have it cooler in there. It was very hot/ humid. Girls had a great time playing with their friends though

We had a birthday party for our son at the academy. We had one last year as well and had a great experience. First of all, it was very hard to reserve it and get a hold of someone. It took several text messages and emails to finally secure a party time and get a response. I was sent an email before we had the party explaining that we were in the 2nd party room and detailed exactly when we needed to eat and then play because our party would be overlapping with another party. It wasn’t like this the year before and I didn’t love that idea because that was one of the big pros before of using this place. That your group was on their own. We showed up and were told we were in party room 2, which was outside, another building down. The space itself was nice and big however, it was dirty in the fact that someone had started sweeping the floor but never finished and we had to clean the toilet seat because we didn’t want it to look gross for guests. It was also not ideal because unlike the other party room we had used before, there was no refrigerator like we had planned (no ice bc we didn’t need it before) and kids couldn’t really come and go as easily in and out to take a break from jumping. Plus you aren’t supposed to have food and drinks near the equipment in the main area. I brought up the fact that the party rooms were not equal and John’s niece who works there just said it was new and something they were figuring out. She was nice and said he wasn’t feeling good because of sinus issues but would get back with us. I saw “uncle John” on her phone pop up as we were talking so he was well enough to check in with her during the time. I sent him a quick email explaining we weren’t happy with the setup, it being dirty and to call me back. I have yet to receive a call. We will definitely have a party elsewhere next time and let others know they might want to look in to other places possibly unless the party room situation gets better and the communication. Such a disappointment compared to our experience the year before! I realize life doesn’t go how you want it sometimes and things can’t be perfect but if you own a business and someone reaches out with concerns, please address them.

We had a very positive experience with the Academy. My daughter and all the kids that attended had a BLAST! Initially it did take me a few attempts to get in contact however, once I did they were very responsive and answered all of my questions. It was a very easy process & overall we enjoyed it. I would have another party here for sure .

My 4 year old forgot his water bottle one day at summer camp. When I came to pick him up that afternoon he was drenched in sweat trying to drink from the bathroom faucet. I asked why he hadn’t been given any water and was told that the only water they had was in a vending machine for $1 and that there were no cups anywhere for him to have a drink from the sink. It was nearly 90 degrees that day and he had one Capri Sun packed in his lunchbox. No one reached out to me to ask that I bring him water or money.
It was also advertised as a sports themed camp where the kids would focus on different sports lessons or activities throughout the week, yet the entire time he attended there were no sports lessons. I reached out on 3 separate occasions requesting a refund for our final week which we had prepaid (minus the deposit) as the camp was overall not a good fit for our son, and never received any response.

DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!! We paid for our party to be from 2PM - 4PM. When we arrive, the employee advised us that there was another party scheduled at 4PM and we had to be cleaned up and out of the party room by 3:30PM. That was so that the next party could come in and set up their stuff (during OUR party). Then the employee came in the party room around 3:15PM with a broom and started cleaning and throwing away our stuff... RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CHILD OPENING HIS GIFTS!! If a customer pays for a set amount of time in a facility, they should be allowed to be in that facility and conduct their party in that set amount of time with no interruptions. I was mortified when my guests started cleaning up MY party, and because they felt so rushed, everyone started leaving at 3:45PM. We were home by 4PM instead of leaving the party at 4PM. We will NEVER be back here again. What a shame that they lost us as a customer and also lost future customers. My guests were talking about booking with them, but after what they saw today, they said HECK NO!! Super unprofessional.. Super rude.. Super embarrassing!

My child was not given water for 3 hours putting her at risk for dehydration and heat exhaustion. I was under the impression that as an after school program my child would be supervised and in good hands. When I arrived to pick my child up she was bright red and crying because she was thirsty and I later found out she was refused a drink because water bottles must be purchased for a dollar. Her bottle she had from school was lost either before or during transport to the center. Instead of giving the child water and charging me later on the staff decided the child should just go without water and that she would be fine without it after running around the gym and jumping on the trampoline. As far im concerned this place is not safe for children and the staff was quite unprofessional.

His patience and kindness handling children while at the same time not enabling them to make mistakes is amazing. My daughter was a hot mess when we had her in Kids Strong she would not follow any directions given. At 3 she still is not an angel by no means 😂but John has her waiting her turn and standing in line and I am beyond thrilled.

The Academy is fun for people of all ages, from kids to adults. The owner truly wants every person who walks through that door to have fun. I love the open gym hours - makes it so easy to let my son get some energy out on a rainy day or a day when school is canceled. Good tip to know, it's in the lower level of the building so when you enter, you'll have to go through the first door on your left and head downstairs to get to the gym. Looking for something to do today with your kiddos? Head to the Academy!!!

We absolutely love The Academy! They have open gym Monday-Thursday from 10am-2pm for only $4/hr per child (gasps!!) and extended hours when public school is out for snow/spring break/summer. I am beyond grateful that we have such a great option to just let our kids play, get out some energy, and doesn’t cost a fortune. Every other gym in town charges much more for open gym time. The open floor plan is perfect for being able to see your kids from everywhere.
Features:
-Multiple Trampolines
-Springboard Floor
-Foam Pit with swings and rings
-Multiple sizes of balance beams
-Rock climbing wall
-Rope for swinging and climbing
-Parallel bars, Vault, Horse
-Monkey Bars
-2 sets of uneven bars
-Large play structure with 2 slides and fort
-Ninja Warrior training areas
-Birthday Party Room
-And more I’m sure I’m forgetting...
We have had our son’s birthday party here 2 years in a row now. After discussing every option available in Lexington, The Academy was the obvious choice. Their party’s are fun for both kids and adults. They were also reasonably priced unlike every other option. They actually GAVE US A CHOICE about whether we wanted to bring our own food/cake or let them handle it. Many other places charge you a fortune to rent the space and then require you to buy their mediocre food that you don’t really want to serve but don’t have the option to bring your own.
If you are looking for a gymnastics place that is uptight, snobby, military-like, overly expensive...this is not the place for you. Thank you Mr. John and staff for creating such a wonderful and fun place that our family can enjoy without having to take out a second mortgage on our house.

We were invited to a birthday party at the Academy by a sweet family at my child’s school. At first glance the facility looked ok. But once you enter the play zone there are safety hazards everywhere. Missing padding and exposed concrete near tumble floor, metal beam between trampolines, gaps between mats and tumble floor big enough for children’s feet to get caught or back tweaked by falling off. It felt very strange that there were no employees to be seen. Needs upkeep and cleaning.

Ideally, this would be an awesome place for kids to run out energy and have fun. Unfortunately it is terribly dirty and, in my opinion, unsafe. Exposed wood boards/nails on the edge of the foam pit, detached/crooked/unstable ladder on the playground. The carpet looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in years and the equipment looks like it's been there for over 20 with no cleaning. Equipment that isn't being used (huge metal bars, wood boards, slides) are piled against the wall and are a safety hazard. Sad that this is the case because it is the only gymnastics place in Lexington with a consistent open gym. Hope some improvements are made for the safety and health of the kids that spend time there!

It stunk so bad that I got a headache just dropping off my stepdaughter off to her Aunt for a bday party. I didn’t want to leave her there! It’s nasty and looks shoddy. I definitely told her not to use the foam pit! You could see into the classrooms as you walked to the bathrooms and they hadn’t even cleaned up the toys off of the floor, let alone cleaned them. Ugh. The parents who gave this place 5 stars must not care about germs or safety.

To wrap it up:
Poor customer service and an unsafe facility.
For a more detailed response:
Coming from a customer who hosted a child’s birthday at the facility, the experience was a headache from the start. There was zero downtime in between parties so exiting for the first party was a nightmare, and settling in for our party was challenging. There was one person on staff, so when we needed anything for any reason the staff member was busy with other tasks, and unavailable to us.
In addition, safety is obviously not a concern for the Academy as there are several hazards in the play area, and no staff to help with the children. Our daughter, the birthday girl, was playing on the large tumbling mat in the center of the play area and rolled into an exposed steal beam holding up a trampoline in the play area, resulting in a decently sized gash on the back of her head. This was obviously traumatic for all of the kids, especially our daughter who injured her head. Once this occurred, it took several minutes to locate the staff member, and about another 10 minutes for the staff member to bring us an already depleated first aid kid that was useless. Our child ended up needing three staples in her head after the incident. We made the owner of the facility aware of what happened, and how it happened, and the response was, first of all, hard to come by, and once we did hear back it was defensive, and unapologetic.
We spent a lot of money on this party and expected to have a great time. Sadly, due to a lack of attention to detail, poor customer service, and not providing a safe environment, it didn’t work out that way.
We will not be back.

We were there for 3-5 year old gymnastics. When we entered it smelled bad like urine there is a daycare that is ran there also. There was a staff standing and talking to another staff in the office. Neither person attempted to speak to myself or the other parent. She looked at us a couple times and still never addressed us. Finally a parent leaving told us to go downstairs for the gymnastics. The gym was separated with a wall and there were two people working. No one greeted us or attempted to speak to us. Finally 5 minutes after the scheduled start time a person came up and gave us paperwork. They have several signs all over the wall that says NO PARENTS. This included I wasn’t even allowed to walk my son to the mat. The instructor attempted to get my son to come with him and then said he could join later, only we were not allowed to enter the area and he never came back really so how could he join later and there was no other staff????? A complete disaster and a waste of money. Someone wrote too cheap to hire staff I second that!

Parents night is a joke. Owner is too damn cheap to hire more people. One person watches over 40/50 kids. My son got attacked by three boys and the person I am trusting to make sure my child is safe watched and let it happen. I will be contacting someone about this I know it against the law to have so many children and only one adult.
