The classes seem to be very basic or very advanced - nothing in between. And I just couldn’t get past the carpet. I’ve never seen carpet in a yoga studio before. The teachers I had definitely knew their stuff, but this studio doesn’t offer many classes or much variety for varying abilities.

I ordered a package of classes a while back. I wasn't able to use them all, because my life got really busy. However, I absolutely loved it there and hope i can start coming back in the future.

This place is literally the best in town!! Literally!! Their teachers travel directly to India for classes, like, a lot! They learn Yoga where it all started from the most dedicated practitioners in the world and bring that beautiful, mindful practice back to our neighborhoods. They have the most renowned names in guest teachers in the country, if not the world. Yoga classes in Kentucky? There is nothing, nothing, that compares to Yoga East.

Outdated studio decor. Cluttered. The instructor didn't show up until class time started. Students were allowed to enter as late as 15 min past start time. Instructor was knowledgeable, but had a frantic energy and was very vocal with her political opinions.

The likes of Yoga East are very difficult to find in the world. Each studio is truly a shala by definition: a supportive home. Yoga in many of its forms, not just asana, is taught in all the studios by kind, powerful, dedicated teachers. Some of the most accomplished teachers in the world are brought in to conduct workshops. Amazing organization. Louisville is very lucky to have Yoga East.
