I started going to the Ashtanga class at Anarchy in September. I signed up for the new member Ashtanga , it’s early but worth it. All I can say it has completely transformed my practice. Brani is great at demoing and explaining the asanas to you as you add more to your practice. I highly recommend.

One of the few, if only studios in new orleans offering Yin- a slow, chill practice that calms me and also, since you hold poses for long periods, gets into the stretching, which i really need. I've practiced yoga for years and at this point I'm not looking at it as a workout- I have other outlets to "break a sweat"- I'm looking to build strength and stabilize my body and protect it. But they do have classes for people looking to get their Vinyasa on- plenty of options & early a.m. practice available for morning people. The thing that makes this studio so unique is the owner, Lauren- naming it Anarchy, incorporating a playlist that isn't the usual wind chimes & bells, keeping it fun and quirky and uniquely new orleans.... its still medatative and zen but conversation regularly breaks out before class bc students feel at home with each other and comfortable. It's a really special space for anyone looking to break the monotony or style of the usual yoga space.

Even though I can’t say I took a class, Lauren caught me on the street as she was closing up and noticed I was showing interest in the concept behind the studio. We ended up chatting about the philosophy behind her practice and just enjoyed a few minutes of camaraderie. Super friendly and welcoming!

This studio is outstanding. The music is amazing, the classes are a blast (and great for all skill levels, so don’t be afraid if you’re a newbie), and there’s such a strong sense of fun and community as soon as you walk in the door. Lauren and Alexis are fantastic and I can’t wait to take more classes with them and the other instructors I haven’t worked with yet. Also: they regularly host kitten yoga events with a local cat nonprofit, and it’s one of the most delightful experiences in the world.

The owner, Lauren, has created something very special in this studio. No matter your physical ability or walk in life, there is a class here for you and an environment that will make you feel welcome in a way I haven't experienced in many other yoga studios. The yin classes are particularly amazing for both body and spirit!

Lauren is the best! I came in to the Tuesday Yin class with no yoga experience at all, and I’ve gone every week for over a year. It is a very refreshing and accepting environment.

Best yoga studio in New Orleans! They have such a wide variety of classes and all of the teachers are great. Everyone is so warm and welcoming and I feel so supported as a student there. I couldn’t imagine doing yoga anywhere else!

Anarchy is a lil sanctuary. It has so much to offer in its small space. There’s deep variety in instructors and the vibes are always A+.

Zach’s Monday classes are literally everything. Alexis, Amina, Lauren, Zach are the instructors I see the most, but they are all great.

The monthly membership is a great deal and there’s a grace period of canceling 3 hours in advance which I really appreciate with a busy schedule.

If you’re looking for a non-pretentious and approachable studio- look no further. Do yoga.

Lauren is the most devoted, kind, and knowledgeable teacher I’ve encountered in my yoga practice! She has a true cult following in her squishy Yin classes, and she genuinely cares so much about each of her students. I attended her classes for a few years before she came to own this studio, and I couldn’t be happier for her that she has a spot of her own!

I am not a yoga pro; fact is, this was my first experience. What a great place and even better instructors. The impressive part is how intuitive, considerate and kind they have been. I truly feel part of the gang here. Thank you.

I’ve practiced yoga at many studios over the years. None have been as welcoming, warm, and fun as Anarchy Yoga. My practice has deepened as I’ve learned so much from the teachers here, who are as knowledgeable as they are attuned to students’ needs. The studio offers a big range of classes: Yin, Vinyasa, Power, Restorative…and more. Lauren, the owner, is a master teacher who cultivates a strong sense of community among students and teachers. She also brings in fun events (like local musician dance classes and kitten yoga!!) plus transformative workshops. I can’t wait to see how the studio keeps growing!

I dropped in for a restorative flow class with Lauren during a weekend trip to New Orleans, and it was one of the best yoga classes I've ever been to! I was super stiff from a lot of travel and long work days, and I walked out of the class feeling so rejuvenated. The studio is a beautiful space, and there's a wonderful community of students and teachers that made the class feel even more healing. The class was a highlight of my trip, and I can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!

I've gone to Lauren's classes for years, I am so glad she is now a studio owner! She is the BEST teacher I've had in NOLA. Lauren's classes are intentional, thoughtful, and I always feel better afterwards, both mentally and physically. Her classes are extremely centering and encouraging. I highly recommend Anarchy Yoga!

My friend and I went to Lauren’s restorative class at Anarchy while visiting New Orleans and it was exactly what we needed! Lauren’s class was the perfect balance of flow and restorative poses. She is one of the best instructors I’ve had, her instruction is calm, relaxing, meaningful, and even funny! The space is beautiful. Next time I’m in the city, I will definitely be stopping by!

A cozy studio space with incredible teachers that give cues based on level and are supportive in where you're at each day. It's a safe space to take it easy or try something new!

I can't say enough about this studio. Several fabulous teachers work out of this intimate space, including the owner, Lauren.

It's rare to enter a space with a teacher that is authentically and unapologetically themselves, and who uses that voice to invite everyone in rather than box anyone out.

Rarer still that a teacher genuinely cares for their students' health and well-being and supports them in classes ranging from introspective yin to vinyasa flow to punk rock music.

Plus, Lauren makes it fun: she brings self-deprecating jokes, a gleeful sense of humor, and enjoyment of non-overbearing banter between her and her students, which brings laughter to the healing and strengthening that happens here.

This location used to be known as "NOLA Yoga Loft" under a previous owner.

Quintessential New Orleans space, historic studio featuring exposed brick & high ceilings. Class offerings are varied, including power flows and restorative options. Instructors take a customized approach to each class, adapting to the needs of students. Great environment for novices (modifications offered) and experienced yogis alike.
