This saddens me to even have to leave this kind of review being my daughter has been a part of CDC family for over 3 years.. And absolutely loved being a part of the team. We have had nothing but amazing things to say about our experience over the last few years. This is the first year we have had any issues with CDC. let alone an issue with an instructor at that. I tried to resolve these issues with Candace around the time it appeared to be evident that the instructor and I were having communication issues.. I reached out four different ways with zero communication back from the instructor nor Candace. All forms of communication were ignored. Fast forward to after the holiday break I received an email asking if I had dropped my child. I informed the instructor I did not and informed her of the reason why we have missed and my lack of communication to those missed days being I have reached out before and she would ignore communication from me. I was very unsure how to proceed being we were intentionally given the cold shoulder by the instructor. Once I informed her of this she then asked for screenshots of the ignored forms of communication from the start of the issues we have had. I provided them as asked.. For her to say oh well these do not state you will be missing practice she is cut per the hand book!!! “ I understand a rule is a rule completely, however she knew I did not reach out about practice and still acted as if she would review this and assist her being my missed practices were not just because she didn't want to go! The reason behind it her absence were very serious. But the truth behind it is she had intended to cut her from the team regardless of the reasoning.. When she could have stated that in first email instead of her request to “SEND ME SCREENSHOTS”.. Very unprofessional and has a very nasty way of talking to parents would not recommend the new Benton location to anyone!!

What can I say about Candace Dance Company and Candace Roussel. Let me start off by telling you that Elizabeth Grace and I have been blessed beyond measure being apart of this FAMILY(studio). Family is how I describe it because this has been much more than just a place to learn dance. Candace pushes hard and wants the best for kids, but she wants more for the kids than for them to be a good dancer. She wants them to learn respect, humbleness, and teamwork. You see Candace wants each dancer to learn to be coachable. She wants them to understand and trust the process. Instead of her just putting a dance on the floor, she wants to put dancers on the floor that posses passion, confidence, humbleness, and being willing to take criticism in a way that will produce even better results. She wants these kids to understand to be supportive and to encourage others, including dancers from other studios. So to me she is teaching them much more than dance. She is teaching them LIFE SKILLS!!! So I want to invite you out to experience this type of Passion that comes from this AMAZING studio owner. I hope you will ask yourself - "Do I want more for my child than just a dance lesson?" If you answered yes, then Candace Dance Company is definitely the place you would want to try out.

We have been at Candace Dance for 9 years and wouldn’t ever dance anywhere else! My daughter and son both want to be there as much as they possibly can. It’s their happy place! They learn proper dance technique, hard work, good sportsmanship, and so much more. Candace puts her whole heart into her work and loves her dancers like her own kids. She invests in them completely and is their biggest cheerleader. Absolutely anyone can feel like family at CDC.

Candace Dance is wonderful for dancers to learn so many important things - not just dance steps! My granddaughter loves going to class and it's so awesome to see her face light up on "dance day' as she learns self discipline, paying attention in a group setting, and working well with others. I like that the younger girls are learning the basics of real dance and being taught dance routines appropriate for their age. I hope my granddaughter loves dance for life like I have and I think Candance Dance is the perfect place to help her do just that.

When it was time to look for a studio for my daughter, I had a few specific things I was looking for. I wanted it to be an environment that would love and encourage her to be a better person, not just a better dancer . I wanted it to be a studio that could give her the tools she would need for a career in the dance world should she want one. I wanted the owner/artistic director to be directly involved in her development from the very beginning. We found all that and more at Candace Dance Company. My girl is only 4, but the changes in her confidence, her body movements, her dance knowledge, and her pure joy on dance day makes me know without a doubt that we are in the right place. Candace and her staff are warm, loving, encouraging, and their passion for what they do is evident. The mom cardio classes are an added bonus for me!
