I’ve trained with Colin twice now, and both times have been a great experience. He’s always professional, on time, and really easy to talk to. He took the time to understand my goals and explained each exercise so I knew what it was helping with. Communication was great, and I always felt comfortable and motivated during our sessions. Very clean facility with lots of machines and free weights. They have saunas, hydrotherapy beds, tanning beds, and red light therapy available as well as fitness trainers and classes (virtual or with a physical instructor). Really love this gym! I always run into someone I know- being that many of my friends workout here, it made finding an accountability partner easy! I love that they have in-house supplements available for purchase and the free coffee is a nice touch. Memberships are reasonably priced, and they offer monthly memberships so you aren’t forced into a contract like other gyms. Can’t say enough about this place- go check it out for free if your friends have a guest-pass or ask about their free trial!

Honestly looking through some of these reviews seeing how many people have billing issues I went all the way to an attorney’s office calling to collect payment I simply explained that the charges that I was paying for monthly were NEVER correct from the start this place honestly got blasted awhile back for having employees laughing at bigger people for working out and bettering themselves when those same people cannot do a simple monthly subscription service correct if you wanna be judged, robbed and even laughed at GO HERE this place sucks I’ll always tell people to take there money elsewhere

I moved back to Lake Charles recently and renewed my membership at this location. The staff is so welcoming and the gym is clean. Our kids enjoy the kid club and are excited to come every time. I have read some of these reviews and it seems as though some of these people are just eager to get their money back. The rules of pausing memberships and cancelling are very clear and there is no red tape. I especially want to give a shoutout to the Manager Hayley. She and her staff are awesome and all deserve a raise.

This place has some serious billing issues. I placed my account on vacation mode for 6 months, I was assured no payments would be taken. I noticed a payment was taken today so I reached out. The supposed office manager....didn't get her name, stated they could put it as a credit. I advised her I wanted them to refund my money. She said they couldn't do it and she was the highest person I could talk to. I decided I want to cancel my membership, (especially with these practices) she said I had to give a 30 day notice. She said my payment that they took without permission since this account was on vacation would be held for my 30 day wait to cancel.
She said she had to email someone else to cancel my membership when she claimed she was the the manager.
I feel she was dishonest when I asked to speak with her supervisor, she claimed she was the manager and no one else higher than her, but she can't cancel my membership without contacting another place.
Unfortunately this place is not a place I want to be associated with.

The gym is big and nice. There were a lot of equipment options, a lot of cardio machines to choose from, and multiple squat racks, and so much more. I liked that it was spaced out ao you dont feel like you're in anyone's personal space. However, I signed up on a weekend. There was no one in the office. I signed up online. My code worked to get it.... apparently to use the womens bathrooms, you also need a pin code. I did not find this information given anywhere in the several emails I received. I did not find it on the app either. I even looked online on Google to try to find the code. I did not find it. This made my workout a little uncomfortable 😬 I understand this is a safety feature, but not a very efficient one when it also keeps the women out of their own bathroom. The family bathroom was locked the whole time also. I messaged customer support and still have more received the code. But again, it's a weekend.

In short: the gym is great and has many workout options. Women, get the code to the bathroom during the week from the front desk.

Agree that it's time for Club4 to open another LC location. It got ridiculously crowded in early June.

I've been a member of the LC Club4 for 4 years. Many have joined Club4 who are not serious & are just hanging out and using the gym as a social outlet.

I'm all for anyone who wants to learn and improve and is actually committed to doing so. Too many people now come in and will sit or lie down on a piece of equipment for a half hour or more while they play on their phones and not even use whatever piece of equipment they are on.

The gym had signs up a while back limiting cell phone conversations to the lobby. Management needs to put signs back up forbidding ALL cell phone usage on the exercise floor.

Some have 30+ min talks with one another as they each occupy equipment while not doing a single set, getting in the way of those of us who are serious trainees. It seems as though Club4 LC has become the new social hangout and male/male pickup spot.

If a member can only do t-bar rows with a single 10 pound plate on the apparatus or only do plate loaded leg presses with a single 10 pound plate (or even 1-2 45 pound plates) on either side of the machine, they need to instead use a selectorized machine. And not sit on the machine for 10 minutes between sets as they play on their phones.

Some will tie up more than one piece of equipment by themselves for extended periods as they spend most of their time on their phones and talking to others. They will have their towel on one piece of equipment and their gym bag on another piece of equipment. Some will tie up multiple pairs of dumbbells.

Some will tie up a piece of equipment they're not even using, and others will tie up a piece of equipment such as a barbell bench press station to do things like tricep kickbacks, one arm db rows, wrist curls, incline pushups, etc. - despite the fact that there are numerous benches nearby they could use that are not part of a specific piece of equipment such as a barbell bench press station. We serious trainees need to use those bench press stations to do bench presses and close grip bench presses.

There seems to be a group of young females in recent months during the mid/late morning hours who congregate in the southeast corner of the gym where the squat racks and power racks are to do some sort of group "training" where they are stretching, using dumbbells and kettlebells, etc.- while getting in the way of the squat racks, power racks, etc. for those of us who need to use these pieces of equipment for their intended purpose.

There will occasionally be a person (usually a very small male) who insists on making a spectacle of themselves by grunting and screaming so excessively loud that they can be heard across the gym. They will of course also slam and bang the equipment and even throw down (not just drop, but deliberately and forcefully throw down) barbells and dumbbells as they try to prove to the world that they're macho men. These guys are the ones who break equipment (which takes forever for the club to repair) and eventually end up injuring themselves or someone else with their nonsense.

Staff should spend more time out on the exercise floor watching and interacting with members. When you see someone talking on their phone on the exercise floor, or occupying a piece of equipment as they play on their phone, inform them that they need to leave the exercise floor to do that. When you see two guys having an endless conversation while occupying two different pieces of equipment or standing around getting in the way of others as they talk about the previous night they spent together or whatever, perhaps ask them if they're using that equipment or not, or if they might carry on their talk in the lobby. And if you see or hear anyone screaming and yelling, slamming equipment, throwing barbells and dumbbells down forcefully, or using equipment in ways it is clearly not intended to be used, etc. please say something.

Evann is the absolute best and outside of the financial department messing up some of my monthly payments which was absolutely nobody’s fault at this location. Great 24-Hour Gym with Friendly Staff
I love that this gym is open 24/7 — it really fits my schedule. The girl who works at 5 a.m. is amazing! She’s always smiling and makes everyone feel welcome with her positive energy.

The only downside is that it’s hard to find dumbbells, kettlebells, and other equipment in the back because they’re often left all over the place. Also, there’s just one Smith machine, and it’s always taken.

Still, it’s a great place to train, and I enjoy coming here every day.

The facility is always kept clean and organized even during the busiest times, the staff seems to make sure to do their best to keep things organized. Visited here and got a week pass for really cheap. The kid care is good but some of the toys should be thrown away and replaced with new ones because they’re so ratty and old. Biggest complaint is the smith machine… there’s only one and it’s facing the wrong way in my opinion… you have to face away from the mirror to do any kind of squat variant bc of the angle of the smith machine. I think that’s a huge failure on the gym to place that machine the wrong direction and sucks that there’s only 1 of them so even though I was there for one week I had multiple problems with people asking if they could jump on next. I wasn’t even on the machine for 3 mins and got asked and then some creepy guy kept lingering. That’s another issue with this gym too. LOTS OF CREEPS. I’m not from around here and I’ve never had a gym where so many old dudes kept coming up and trying to talk to me. Maybe it’s a lake Charles thing but it’s awful.

Worst experience ever. Signed up for personal training and told my trainer the issues I had with my lower back and asked if they could work around it and make sure I was only doing 'safe' exercises. They assured me their trainers were highly qualified and personal. 1st month was great, 2nd month we moved on to weights and first session the trainer had me doing a bent over row with heavy weights and my back went out, in the gym! Unbeknownst to me at the time, this is a terrible exercise to do with heavy weights for someone who has lower back issues. I was out of work for a week and couldn't go back to the gyn for about 3 weeks. I was very upset with my trainer and talked to the manager about the situation and they told me the trainer didn't do anything wrong and that I signed a contract. They would be taking the remaining 2 months pay regardless of whether I could attend or not. By that point, I didn't trust my trainer and my doctor told me to rest and not do heavy weight training for a while and I didn't end up going back. Terrible experience. They do not care about people AT ALL. Run away from this gym.

I have been going to this gym for about 3 yrs. I have had a few problems as far as fees go like when I signed up for this gym I signed up for and agreed to a $15/month plan and randomly without me knowing it went to $20/month. I didn't care too much about that fee but recently I went to the gym with someone late at night when it was 27 degrees out with wind blowing. This was the night before our recent snow storm. Knowing that me and the other person have had paid memberships for some time now I knew that we were both permitted to be there. While the other person scanned to unlock the door I held it open and just the 2 of us entered. Fast forward a couple days. The person who scanned us in got a $50 fine because I did not think it was a necessity to sit in 27 degrees and wait for them to open the door then close the door and let it lock before scanning myself in as well. If they will refund the money I would gladly work with them to do so.

ZERO stars!!! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY!!!! I signed up January 4th this year of 2025 and i called to cancel January 10th requesting to put in my 30 day notice after my cousin told me they hit her with a lot of fees and they are suing her and they put it on your credit when you don’t pay it on time. The club4 app told me i owe $55.09 (mind you it’s only been 6 days) and when club4 emailed me the cancelation steps, it said i have to pay it up until March 4th to cancel it which resulted in me having to pay $94.75 . I’ve only been enrolled at the gym for 6 DAYS! I thought by me canceling on January 10th meant my last day would be February 10th or from my enrollment date which is January 4th up until February 4th!! Poor customer service as well. I explain my situation to the GM (general manager) at Club4 and complied with paying the $55.09 but i was trying to get an understanding of what made my total almost $100 when i only been at club4 for 6 days not even a week yet. The GM laughed in my face over the phone and kept saying “this was you signed for, you signed your name 5 times” “you signed this” and she was no help at all. The sign up said month to month no commitment so how you go from January to March! That sound pretty committed to me. So don’t walk away from club4, RUN away!!!!

After 2 years, thought I’d love the gym, but instead, I got charged $50 after receiving a “warning” email—even though I replied immediately to explain what happened.

So, if you go late with a friend who does have a membership, make sure you:
1. Scan in yourself.
2. Enter the building and let the door close Slowly.
3. Wait another 10 seconds for the scanner to reset.
4. THEN let your friend scan in.

All of this takes about 25 unnecessary seconds—even if it’s 30° and pouring rain.

Also, if you’re a student at McNeese, they lied about the McNeese Promotion where you pay less. Also, expect them to raise your membership fee.
Started off paying $10/m… now I’m paying like $25?

WORST GYM EVER
This has got to be the worst experience of my life signing up for personal training at this gym. You get told this beautiful story about how they care about your health and starting your fitness journey when in reality all they care about is MONEY! I signed up to do personal training with a young lady who was awesome and it worked out for about 2 months and I was given less than a weeks notice that she would be moving out of state so at that point I wanted to cancel and was told since I signed the contract for 6 months I wouldn’t be able to okay no big deal. I got assigned to another trainer who waited until 2 hours before our session to let me know she wouldn’t be able to train with me so at that point I was over it, I was starting to lose motivation to actually go to the gym because all of the issues surrounding personal trainers. When I signed up I told the head trainer and the girl I signed with that I would be moving to another state for Grad school come July and I was reassured many times before signing that I would be able to cancel no problem… well that was a LIE. In order to cancel there can’t be a gym within 25 mile radius which there is one that is 21 miles but 25 minutes away from where I’m moving. I explained my situation and told them I wouldn’t be able to drive that far in order to go to a gym being that graduate school will be a lot . They continued to send me the same automated message saying that I would only be able to cancel if I prove that I’m moving out of a 25 miles radius. This has been a horrible experience so the only way I’m able to get out of the agreement is if I pay a buy out fee which is 50% of what I owe. I wouldn’t recommend getting a personal trainer through Club 4 Lake Charles!!

I don't have a membership yet, however, I was able to tour the facility with an employee. The facility was super nice, clean, and well equipped. I LOVED the pass code protection on the restrooms/showers that gave some peace of mind for safety reasons. As a newbie to commercial equipment, I appreciated the QR codes that you can scan that takes you to YouTube tutorials with instructions of use. The one downside I have is the price and the lack of family plans or more affordable packages.

The gym as a whole was great. You have to go early to beat the crowd. One of my pet peeves is when people don't clear off or clean their machines. I don't want to clear other people's weights off before use, this should be enforced. However, one of the staff members (Emma) was by far the rudest individual I may have ever met. My fiancé and I had 3 separate occasions with her where she showed nothing but disrespect to us. You are in the customer service business, and being a (customer) I was disrespected many times. Emma interrupted my workout to basically talk to me like I was a 12 year old. Her utter disrespect towards my fiancé was the last straw, we canceled our membership and will not be back.

Worst gym with useless employees. Idk why I have to pay so many random fees with random reasons. The employees are nice but tell them to do their job better .
I got stop because I’m not using account with my name on it and it’s is the gym policy’s. But I already work out in this gym for more than a year with no problem. I explained to them that this is my dad account and he didn’t use it anymore, so instead of cancel it , I’m just gonna use it and pay for it cuz it more convenient with all those cancel stuff. And yes , I talk to one of them year ago about this problem and they said it’s cool as long as just only me use it after that, like their never talk about this policy even when I ask do I have to pay anything.

They won’t listen to me cuz it’s a part of policy . It’s actually my bad cuz I trust and ask them instead of read the actual paper. And the crazy part is their only stop me right after I pay my maintaince fee for this year. Unless my dad use it again , it basically a waste of money. And for the one say that I did it to avoid maintaince fee, are you stupid when I still have to pay to renew it anyways ?? So why should I do those for nothing !

Also don’t autopay ya , they charged my late fee for 2 months because my card isn’t working, they didn’t try to call me about it and just keep adding the fee. my card still working and somehow it’s my fault cuz their can’t take it. But still have to pay and cancel now . Careful everybody.

I would not recommend this gym simply because of their cancelation policy. I recently tried canceling my membership only to be told it would be better not to and was suggested to put it on suspension (hold). No membership fees would be charged for 6 months. I agreed and was told it would resume being drafted in 6 months or I could call and cancel at that time. Fast forward 6 months and here we are I've tried canceling with a phone call like I was told and was informed that's not true
. I have to send in a email form to do so and in the mean time they continue to try drafting membership fees and I haven't even been to the gym in 6 months plus.

I a m a 67 year old female and I l love LC Club 4 facility. It’s a very clean facility. Upbeat atmosphere. Friendly staff .Awesome classes and instructors. Open 24/ /7 . Great equipment. Everything you need to be motivated and stay motivated. I Love everything about it. Keeps me motivated on my weight loss, and weight and cardio training journey . They offer classes throughout the day, from early morning to late evening . My favorite classes are Body Pump , Body Step , and Cycle classes . I recommend the LC facility for a place to be a member .There are yearly contracts. You can stop your membership anytime with a notice to the staff. Try it for 3 days free!

Bad experience!
I signed up for the first time in my life for this gym, was very excited and had so much hope. The first day the manager suggested the personal training to me which I did not know about, he explained that it was 136 and said it is a yearly pay. I used it for a month and had to leave the country to visit my family so I put it on freeze. When I came back they didn’t unfreeze it until two months later then they asked me to pay if I want to continue using it. I found out that it is a monthly pay. When I heard of that I told them that I can’t pay every month because when I signed the agreement that was not what they told me. Then I filled a cancellation form. They said if I want to cancel I have to pay 50% of the money which is 680$. They took advantage of me and misled me. It was a trap. The problem is that they know that I am a student and can’t afford that. I told them the first day. Don’t trust anyone! Read the contract before you sign! The only reason why I didn’t read it was because I trusted the manager and signed right then. All they care about is money.
Now I am looking for another gym.
Last 2 months they have been charging me every month a plan fee that I don’t know what for.
Never give them your credit or debit card. Even after I ended my membership and paid 50% of the plan they still chat me.

At first I liked this gym but when you changed your bank info and stuff next thing later you waiting for it to pull out your account and they try to pull form the old account and they continue to say it is my fault and that I still will owe them 185 which iam fine with paying it’s the extra I have to pay to cancel I do not recommend this gym ….. there is no communication at all when something goes wrong with your account it’s always the customer fault

ZERO STARS! First of all, the staff were never helpful, and rude! I was on a partner account with my ex a couple years ago, and when they went to individual accounts, I did not proceed to make my OWN account, and told them I wanted to cancel, never shared bank information, etc.. now I have debt collectors after me for them keeping an account open that was under my ex’s and unknowingly kept charging me. If the employees would have done their job right and cancel it when it was suppose to be canceled I would not be in debt collections. Also moved 3 hours from this gym a week after I told them I did not want an account!

If this wasn’t so gross it would be funny. Club 4 management responded to my bad review but still haven’t cleaned their showers as of today. So disgusting!!

Way overpriced for what you actually get. If you need to use the showers beware, the women’s locker room and showers stay filthy and there is NO hot water. On a good day it’s warm. The women’s bathroom has looked like this for 3 days now

Not a single person is helpful. Called on May 24th to cancel my membership, was told you had to do it online, the website was not letting me cancel called the office back, she said okay I can cancel it in house. Happened to look at my bank statement in August I’ve been charged from June, July, and August. Gave more than a 30 day notice and am still being charged. The general manager should probably be trained on customer service etiquette. Refuses to refund anything with proof of phone records of the calls and knowing I have not been to their gym since April.

Former member, had to cancel my membership because of a military move. When I came back to visit in December, I had no problem getting a month pass for 30 dollars. Back on leave again and I was told it was gonna be 80 dollars this time. Just a money hungry gym, unwilling to help military members on leave out.

Incompetence. No one knows what’s going on. Was told by one young man that a monthly pass didn’t exist. Decided to buy a day pass since I was there, and after finishing, the GM told me it did exist and only cost about $55. I return a few days later to complete that payment and a different employee says all of the sudden it is $80 and has been that way since January. When asked to see a price sheet they told us we had to “believe them”. Obviously they’re all clueless.

Seeing a lot of bad reviews, from what i’ve experienced the gym is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pretty clean, Besides the carpet area (which could use some cleaning). They have a wide variety of equipment. The only problem is the ammount of people, it doesn’t seem like there is a member limit or anything. Although besides that the wait for equipment is not even that long. Most of the people there are friendly aswell! You cant really complain for the price either! Forgot to mention that my headphones were stolen, watch where you put your things! haha

In oct I did the the three day trial and the consultation. November I called them because they was taking money out of my account I only did the three day trial . Called the gym in November to ask why are you taking my money mind you I never had a membership per the employee I asked this question several times I even asked for the manager she also said ohh you don't have a membership fast forward we in December they take another 118.00 out my account this time I go up there to ask again why you taking my money. The lady at the desk printed some papers saying now I had a membership but I never even worked out at the gym except for the trial which was also with a trainer that we had to pay to 95 just to walk in and tour the facility.

What a joke of a “gym” month to month contract, no where does it state that you have to cancel online or when you sign up. Leave the state for 6 months, for work, come back to sign up again and they tell me I owe $200+ dollars for a month to month on a $10 membership. I stopped paying because it’s month to month. This has happened to several people in the area

Equipment constantly breaking takes them months to get it fixed tanning beds are disgusting. Water filters on water fountains are always bad locker floor and shower floors are slimy feeling.then in order to cancel your membership is a nightmare you call a phone number just for them to tell you to go to a website and create an account and then you can request to cancel your membership only after you pays the next months dues that you will never get to use the facility for…if I could give negative reviews I would place is over priced for what you get!

I sign in, then go next door to buy drinks (I'm not paying 8 dollars for 2 energy drinks), then they accuse me of lying/ not going there before even checking for proof.

On another occasion when I routinely sign in, drop my stuff off, then go next door, on the way out a staff member makes a rude comment implying that I'm being lazy.

If you use this gym you have been warned they will continue charging your credit card MONTHS after you cancel. I was charged for training ($288 each) 3 times after I canceled in person and in writing. If you use this gym my advice is to use a credit card and cancel it as soon as you cancel the gym to prevent them from illegally charging your card bc you might get some back, but you will have to sue to recover everything they steal.
