I travel weekly for work, so I’m constantly searching for a solid gym wherever I land — and Franco’s on Magazine Street absolutely blew me away. Joey, the GM, was incredibly kind, professional, and accommodating. He even made sure I had a comfortable workspace between workouts, which was a huge plus.

The facility has everything I need — clean showers, a relaxing sauna, tons of free weights, and a spotless, well-maintained environment. It’s rare to find a gym that checks every box, but Franco’s does.

Huge thanks to Joey and the team for creating such a welcoming and top-tier space. This will definitely be my go-to spot every time I’m in town! 💪🔥

Let’s talk about Franco’s because this little gym is giving neighborhood hidden gem vibes, even if it’s not exactly the size of Planet Fitness on steroids.

It’s small, sure. Not a ton of equipment. You’re not gonna find twelve versions of the same machine in here. But honestly? It gets the job done. I’ve never had to stand around awkwardly waiting for someone to finish their last set while pretending to stretch my calves for twenty minutes.

Now, if you’re hoping to chat it up and make gym besties, this might not be your scene. The crowd’s a bit quiet, all business, headphones in, laser focused. Everyone seems to know what they’re doing, which is great if you’re into serious workouts, but slightly tragic if you’re like me and want someone to gossip with between sets.

Franco’s definitely caters to folks who are already pretty high performing and just want a solid neighborhood spot to get in, crush their workout, and get out. And honestly? I love working out here. No frills, no drama, just a reliable place to sweat and feel strong.

Five stars however sometimes I’d love a little more social energy, but Franco’s is still my go-to.

My favorite local gym! Instructors are super nice - they always remember you / your name. Classes are easily to book online on mindbody or classpass. If you're new to town, check out those apps and you can take a class to try out the gym.

Great gym, very reasonably priced membership for offering gym equipment and classes. The staff and class instructors are always friendly!

I come to different classes here through ClassPass and I love it. There are so many different types of classes like bootcamps, full body burn, les mills, Pilates, yoga, etc. The facility is always clean and all of the equipment is really new and fancy. There’s a sauna in the bathroom which is awesome too.

The facilitates and equipment at this gym are nice, however I would definitely not recommend seeking out their training services. I called a month in advance to schedule something, was finally able to schedule an appointment with one of the trainers after about 3 weeks of back and forth and trouble getting a response. The trainer then canceled the night before due to sickness. This was understandable, but after a month of trying to see someone, still frustrating. I called Franco’s to see if I could meet with someone else, and they assured me someone would call me back the next day. It has been 3 weeks since then and nobody has contacted. I say all of this just to note how unorganized the whole training system is.

Im in town for work and needed a gym to go to so I gave this one a try with their free day pass.
Only giving it stars because the gym itself is decent enough and wasn’t crowded.

On another note because of the service they deserve 0 stars. When I arrived, some guy(he didn’t introduce himself so I didn’t get a name) said that when I am done he would go over pricing and everything with me for a membership. He didn’t bother to show me around, I had to ask him where is the ladies locker room. He was very stand offish. When I was done he didn’t even bother to ask me how I like the gym, go over membership pricing or anything. He just let me leave. Here we are a week later , still no follow up about joining. I wanted to give it some time to see if someone would call me, so I am here leaving a review to let you guys know if you care about being treated nicely to not go here. Cyclebar on magazine was better.

I’ve been a member at Franco’s for 5 years and I love it. I’m a mom with a hectic life and it’s my daily refuge. The members, instructors and staff are very nice and make you feel welcome. The mgr, Joey, never forgets to say hi to me when I arrive even when he’s across the gym from me. He listens and is responsive when I tell him something should be changed or fixed. I’ve been to other gyms around the country and in New Orleans and this is the only one that has felt like it’s my home away from home.

I've been a member at Franco's for about a year. It's a wonderful gym that is easy to recommend. There is a great outdoor space, plenty of machines and weights, and it never feels crowded. The trainers and staff that I have interacted with have always been very friendly and knowledgeable!

Franco’s is a great gym! They have a nice weight area, a large number of treadmills etc., a great outdoor workout space and AWESOME CLASSES!! I’ve been a member of so many places over the years, from Equinox to Lifetime Fitness and I hold Franco’s right up there with them. The locker rooms might not have Kheils in the soap dispensers but their staff is superior. Every member of the team is helpful and friendly. The class instructors are terrific. The trainers are top notch. Franco’s is a real treasure in the LGD!

I would not recommend this gym to anyone, especially people who speak English as a second language and women. I was a member for three months at Franco’s and canceled my membership on the spot after having an extremely rude interaction with the general manager, Joey. On many occasions, there was no toilet paper, paper towel, or soap, and the toilets were dirty and when I told him about these issues he was always rude. While I was in the middle of exercising, he came up to me told me I was being “malicious” for complaining about the low hygiene. Sounds like I was right about the cleanliness because he says they clean the bathrooms (only!!) once a week (he said it like that’s sufficient).
In addition, I felt like he and some other staff members were intentionally making me feel badly about my accent by questioning what I was saying and my words. Finally, it was often an uncomfortable place for me as a woman-- the men groan when they are exercising and, although I can’t ask for toilet paper, men can make all the noise they want.

This gym is often dirty in the bathrooms and missing soap/paper towels/toilet paper. The general manager, Joey, is very rude and has been since day one.
Also, I have been to other gyms where staff do a good job of letting people know -especially men- when they are making too many moaning noises while exercising, and this is definitely not one of them. In fact, I once told a staff member I felt uncomfortable with a man moaning very loudly and he said “You think that is bad! You should hear [other staff member]!” Not helpful… For these reasons, I canceled my membership 3 months early (of a 6 month membership)

Cancelled membership but have been charge twice since. They’re saying due to a “glitch” . Will update this review if they actually remedy the situation

The gym has high quality equipment and is super clean but a little limited in space. A bit crowded when there is only a dozen people or so using the strength training equipment. But if you go when it's not peak hours, a 5 star gym

Franco's is a great gym. I have a background in powerlifting and I can say that this place has everything anyone needs to work out. There is an open layout downstairs with machines and racks. Upstairs, there are treadmills, stair machines, elliptical machines, and a full-size aerobics room with mats, hand weights, yoga mats, and Les Miles weight bars. The entire gym is always a comfortable temperature. The aerobics room has large fans, which can be easily turned on. The gym provides towels and sanitary wipes to clean machines and mats before/after use.

The staff has always been kind and helpful to me. There is an office right at the front with a manager there almost constantly to answer any questions.

Franco's is a premium gym for a premium price. It is compact, but it has everything you need to meet your fitness goals. I would highly suggest dropping by and taking a tour.

Frustrating experience with the customer service and billing department over here, kinda screwed us on our monthly deal. Not recommended and letting people know about it.

When I work in New Orleans, I work long hours and don't find much time for myself. Walked into Franco's yesterday around 9pm and to my surprise, Whitney showed me around the premiss without any qualm. Its an absolutely beautiful setup. I plan on joining towards the end of them month. It's not the cheapest option around, but if your looking for no bs, clean machines, and top of the line equipment check out this place. Highly recommend.
