This gym is awesome! The coaches are amazing and motivating. I need someone to tell me how to workout and they do. They show you each movement whether it’s your first time or your hundredth time. So you never have to guess. And the ladies (and the few guys) working out with you cheer you on. If you are thinking about joining, you should just do it! This place is the best!!

Love my gym!! They are always encouraging, always challenging and if you disappear for a bit, they welcome you back with open arms ready for you! The gym is about the whole person, not just working out, which is a balm to the soul.

Girls Gone Buff has been life changing! It’s not only a gym but a community of people! I’ve gone from not working out at all to working out 5 days a week and enjoying it! I signed up in July and I’ve lost over 15 pounds (pregnancy weight plus some). I’m feel stronger and better than ever! You should check out this gym because it’s definitely worth it!

Chelsey, Shane and their team are hands down the best trainers in town! They will help you become the best version of yourself, absolutely judgment free, and in a fun, positive environment. You can also count on them to help you stay accountable! They will make sure you show up and show out! Best decision ever.

I have tried my whole life to find a gym, but have often found myself feeling uncomfortable or lost in most gym type settings. I heard about girls gone buff from some coworkers, and decided to give it a try. I started out with spin, and immediately loved the vibe, and was so thankful to Courtney, a coach at GGBC for making me feel included and welcome on my first day. I eventually did the beginner’s challenge and then transitioned into regular bootcamp classes. Everyone I have met has been nice, and I like the class setting. I feel challenged every workout, and I like the way I feel after I workout. I couldn’t ask for a better gym environment, and I’m glad GGB was recommended to me.

I started here last April because I needed a change in my routine. Chelsey and the whole crew are awesome and accepting. When I go MIA for a couple of days, someone is reaching out and checking in. I like that they added the spin classes this year as they continue to grow. I have also made some new friends and they are great accountability partners.

I started at Girls Gone Buff in May 2016 when classes were held at the park. The only reason I decided to check it out was because I worked with Shane at one time at the hospital.
What I love about GGB :
1. I’m pushed every single day. I now understand what going beast mode means.
2. I love the community. We are a gym family. We are there for each other. Inside the gym with workouts and outside the gym with life.
3. I can be myself. I’m not judged for being goofy and silly. There is no judging going on. I’m looked at as a person not just some gym member. Everyone is supporting each other.
4. I am encouraged and cheered on. When I want to quit Shane and Chelsey are right there cheering me on. The other girls are cheering me on to. They don’t want me to quit.

I was thinking the other day as I watched people milling around after a class the other day, how similar “the gym” is to my usmc days. The comradery, community spirit, and overall sense of inclusion is one of the many reasons this gym is so successful.
The trainers are passionate and walk the walk. They owners and trainers care about the health and wellness of the community around them, and the gym has already made differences in peoples’ lives for a lifetime.
THEN they also opened their doors to a seva yoga teacher and let the community use the space to practice yoga free of charge.
Group classes, bikes, rowers, Olympic lifting, yoga, pole classes, nutrition coaching, one on ones, running and agility training, kids classes, the amount of services they offer to the community is incredible and I recommend them to everyone.✌️

I’ve been going to GGB/Parish Barbell Club for almost a year now, and I can say the best part about this gym is the community. The events that are planned and the several different programs they have truly change how you live your life (for the better) and make you more fitness oriented. Everyone is so welcoming and kind, and the owners are very active in the community and make you feel like you’re at home.
If you just want a treadmill and weights, go to Prestige Fitness or Bravata. If you want a life-changing gym experience, you go here.

I started working out with Chelsey and Shane when they first started in the park. I thought i was going to last a month and quit just like every other time. They have made this very enjoyable and made it my second home. I have never felt more comfortable in a gym. There is such a great support system and the coaching is amazing. You can talk with them about anything and not feel embarrassed. They have made me a better person, mind and body and i thank them for that!

This is the first gym I've ever really joined! Although that may make my review a little biased, i seriously cant imagine being a member anywhere else! Knowledgeable trainers, incredible community, and a totally welcoming atmosphere. If you're new to gym life and nervous about just starting out I HIGHLY recommend GGB!

I’ve been to lots of different types of gyms, but I’ve never really felt as comfortable as I feel at GGB. It’s all due to the owners/ coaches, Chelsey and Shane. They are so knowledgeable and fun, they make you feel right at home and will help modify any workout according to your abilities. It’s what keeps me going back day after day, even when I don’t feel like it! So glad I found GGB!

I just recently started this gym and let me tell you, it was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!! I was skeptical before joining because i kept thinking this was too extreme for me and that i was never going to be able to do the workouts, but turns out, i really enjoy them! Everyone that comes to this gym, is so friendly! Chelsey and Shane have been sooo welcoming and helpful! I pulled a muscle in my back and those two have sat with me to try and stretch correctly and modify the workout for myself. They genuinely care about their people. LOVE them and this gym!

I started this gym a few years ago! Starting something new is never easy and when you’re overweight and someone mentions “Boot Camp” it’s even scarier! My fears almost instantly subsided when I met Chelsey! Never once did I feel like that overweight girl at the gym. I felt like even though I was whining and complaining about whatever crazy work out she had put up for us, I knew that she would help push me through it! I absolutely adore everything about this place! If you have not tried it then you need to!

I love this gym so much that I live in Metairie and still find a way there at least 3x a week. Need I say more? Probably not, but oh well. 🤷🏼♀️
I started GGB in January 2017. Not gonna lie, I was skeptical and nervous about how I’d do. I had just tried a trial membership with another gym (Snap/Planet Fitness-esque) not long before joining GGB, and I left in tears. I didn’t know what I was doing and there was no one around that I could even ask to help me. That’s the relationship I had with going to the gym/working out in general. Enter GGB where I started at Crescent Park. I believe my first workout class had kettlebell swings..never touched a kettlebell before this, and Chelsey was right there correcting my form and letting me know what I was and wasn’t doing right without losing her focus on other members of the class. I’ve since moved my classes from the park to the gym, and nothing has changed. Chelsey, Shane, Courtney and Rachel all have a way of pushing you to do what you think you can’t, while keeping your safety their #1 priority.
Since joining GGB, the gym isn’t a scary place anymore. It’s somewhere that I’ve challenged myself, bettered myself and continue to better myself with each passing week. There’s truly no place like it.

What i love most about Girls Gone Buff is that it’s for every woman. One of the first things i noticed when i started going to their classes is how inclusive it is. You’ll see every body type and age group working out with you. You’ll see women bring their pups and their kids to class (never in a distracting way; but rather i appreciate seeing this because it means that no matter what they WANT you there and for nothing to stand in-between bettering yourself).
I can come to class with cat hair on my yoga pants and not feel like i’m being judged. Which in my life working from home, this is a priority.
There are multiple different class times and locations to choose from every week day. You don’t have to sign up yearly and can go month-to-month which was a big bonus to me since i work seasonally out of state for a few months of the year.
You will work harder and push yourself more than you ever could on your own because you are surrounded by women that are not going to quit. That means you can’t quit. Chelsey and Shane make sure to walk you through the new exercises and they look out for you and your form. If you have a preexisting injury, they will help choose alternate exercises for you.
I’ve always been more of a runner/pilates type person and crossfit dream baes intimidated and slightly confused me. But here i am friggin’ jumpin’ rope, doing burpees, whirling kettlebells around and am now bringing in all my groceries in one trip because i’m getting STRONGER.
These classes are so worth it. Come join us! Bonus points if you suck at jumping rope. You can come stand by me!
