Dated gym and semi unfriendly staff. Took 45+ minutes for the guy at the front desk to sign us up. It's like he didn't know how to use the computer. Got a creepy vibe from some of the older gentlemen there while working out. I want to work out at a place where I feel comfortable and welcome. Plus the first time I go to workout there, the first elliptical machine I step on is broken and doesn't work. Not a good experience. Will be switching gyms immediately

I've been a member of Star Fitness Center Covington since I moved here in 2016,.They offer many fitness classes that are included in my membership fee(I attend 2 evening yoga classes every week with an awesome instructor). It is a very clean facility, staffed with professional, courteous associates. With my 24 hour access key I can work out anytime my schedule allows day or night.

Jeff Reeves has been great with my shoulder injury. I have made great progress since started seeing him. My range of motion has increased since my injury and I am well on my way to the way things were before. Everyone at STAR is very nice and knowledgeable.

Poor service, I came there 3 years ago for PT from the VA, I'm able to choose who I want to use for a service connected disability from the military & I choose them again this week & got Megan on the phone, Zero moral to help me get this restarted, I have to call the VA & do all the legwork just to get started & them paid- should be the other way around but not with her, gave her the number to call to contact the VA, they said No call was ever logged in from Megan @ Star Physical Fitness on Falconer drive in Covington. ( Caller ID ). I called her today, she could care less to help. I'll take the business somewhere else. Waste of time & money to speak with her. Hope the owner sees this.

My wife and I chose Star after visiting 6 facilities associated with Silver Sneakers that are within 9 miles of our home. We like the choice of machines and the fitness classes that are geared toward beginners. We didn't give it 5 stars because it needs to make a couple of easy improvements. First would be to have more paper towel dispensers and cleaning fluid more conveniently placed around the exercise area. Second, would be to replace many of the missing rods that are necessary to adjust the weight of each Nautilus machine. More than half are missing the smaller rod that allows the user to adjust weights in 5 or 10 pound increments. Another plus is that the staff is friendly.

Only giving a one star because they make you. I was super excited about this place. I just had a baby so I'm ready to get back into shape. Explored their website, contacted management via email a few times and was finally ready for the commitment. Went in and the nice lady who helped me and my sister was super helpful and gave us a few different prices than what the website said but no big deal. I didn't mention it. Also gave me daycare hours for my little one and said they don't have it only from 2 to 4 when no one comes but it's only 10 dollars extra a month. I thought "ok something has to be wrong. Too good to be true for this price". We leave. Super excited to start the following day. Well manager called me the next day telling me it's not 10 dollars more a month for daycare, it's 20. A little peeved I said no big deal... in my head I'm thinking wow, this is getting pricey. But they said they'd wouldn't charge me for the key to call it even so i said okay. I pack my little on up and get there at 11, only to be greeted by the same lady I met yesterday telling us day care is only from 8 to 11 and 430 to 7.... what the hay? Talk about horrible hours and I guess she must have forgotten our entire convo from yesterday . I just turned around a walked out. Manager called me again (now the third time) telling me to come back, she felt bad and was going to get someone to watch my little one I said yes at first but then said no and I wanted a refund only to be told they had just ran my card... how convenient. I said fine, keep the money. But I will not be coming. She called me again telling me that I should utilize the month I paid for. I said no and that I want a full refund. Now I am still waiting for a response. Do not go there everything on their website is out of date. I explained my frustration to the manage but there was nothing she could have said to change my mind.

I don't know much about the owner. Other than He is all about his revenue! Which any business owner should be but not at the cost of putting money before your genuine interest in people. I noticed a pattern in poor choices in front desk managers, that lacked "life" experience when dealing with people. Probably because they get paid pennies on the dollar. The trainers get paid like crap. The machines are worn out and the budget around there Squeaks...These things speak volumes! It is a reflection of poor outsourcing, marketing techniques, and poor customer service. There is no wet area, the flooring in the area where the group classes are held is cheap and will kill your knees, they throw anybody in child care before the ink has dries on the application, there is a huge turn over. Why Simply because its all about the mighty dollar. There is also lack of diversity (hint hint)!

My wife and I "Di" have belonged to STAR since 2006 and have been working out on Mon, Wed, & Fri. We have encourage friends to join and work out with us ~ and have enjoyed our group growing.
We have used the Physical Therapy side for several surgical procedure ~ and received EXCELLENT therapy every time!
We have made and continue to make many friends at STAR ~ on both Sides.
We really appreciate ALL the friends and Staff that we have there!
We know that they will continue to do a GREAT JOB !!

I joined Star Fitness 2 months ago and all I can say is I love it, they are very professional and super nice!

Kelsea works at the front desk. I look foward to seeing her when I get there. Shes very helpful and so friendly,with a wonderful smile.

Damario is my trainer and he is awesome. Never did he make me feel negative about myself. He helps push me to reach my goals and is always there if i need help!

Adrian teaches the zumba class. Love him,he makes the class fun and exciting! I always enjoy that class,I just wish I had some of his energy!

Worst gym ever. Very few machines, not a good setup (everything is so close together) and the equipment is a joke. could not get a decent workout on any of the machines that I tried. Was ignored by the staff when I had a question. Left angry and will never go back.

STAR has helped me get back into fighting shape. I have been a rugby player for the past 10 years and unfortunately due to constant moving and conflicting schedules I was forced to take about 18 months off. In this time I let myself slip a little bit and in mid January I decided it was time to hit the gym and try to get in playing shape once more. Thanks to a lot of hard work on my part and support from Nannette, Will, Wendy and Cal I was able to drop nearly 14lbs and 4.2% total body fat in less than 12 weeks. This hard work allowed me to earn a starting position on the New Orleans Rugby club and help my team win the South Divisional Championships last weekend!

I would give them 5 stars but they do not have a sauna or steam room. I really like the staff and facility besides that.
