NOBC is THE best boxing gym in the world. This place is not just a gym. It’s a community. The gym is open to all skill levels. If you’re looking to learn to box, get in shape, and have fun doing it this is the place. The coaches are the best at what they do.

Nothing but love for NOBC. The staff and members are very supportive and welcoming. Lots of talented people in this gym who want to help you achieve your goals. I have had a very positive experience coming here over the last year.

Saw a video of the owner disrespecting potential customers because he was having withdrawals from a coke binge. You can find the video online. Also, be careful at this gym. If you pay for training up front, they will rip you off and not honor what you paid for. The attitude and behavior displayed here resemble those of brash fighters who often get outclassed by humble professionals like George St-Pierre. EDIT I haven’t been to Louisiana in nearly 20 years. My review is based on a video I’ve seen where you the owner in the most unprofessional way treated two potential clients. I also saw the conversation of one of your trainers in text, acknowledge getting paid $1000 for services and refusing to refund or honor the training. The fact you respond with empty threats (which you obviously are too stupid to know the law) and respond with lies about who you think I am, just further proves you have no integrity and are just trying to justify your behavior. There are multiple reviews over the span of the last 7 years that further substantiate my claims. Your condescending response proves even further why nobody should do business with you. Champions and winners don’t act the way you did or the way your trainer did. I hope this serves as a lesson that when you provide a service to the general public, we will hold you accountable for being dishonest and won’t hesitate to help people avoid being treated the way you treated that couple you harassed in the video. I highly recommend anyone considering this business for training to be very careful. If you have a bad experience, it seems they will try to bully and intimidate you should you want to tell anyone about it. Take the feed back, self reflect and like my guy Joey Swoll says “you need to do better! Mind your own business!” ;)

I have been going here for a couple years now and I like that there is something for everybody, it's very welcoming. If you want to do it for just fitness, or you want to participate in the sport as a hobby and spar but not compete, those are options whether you want to go the classes or just train on your own. Or if you are interested in becoming an amateur fighter or even more, there are fighters who train and coach here too.

I was a member for a couple of months until recently. I typically mind my own business, workout, and leave. However, the gym owner, approached me as if I were his son, and basically demanded I clean the heavy bag I just used, giving me thirty seconds. I'm an adult, and I never met this guy, never spoke to him, and has never introduced himself to me (the paying customer). He interrupted my workout for this. Keep in mind, I just watched a group class of ten people, and not a single person wiped any equipment, a class that the owner directs. I guess he felt the need to single me out as if to obtain some authority over me. He then started screaming near my face."Do you know who I am? I am the owner of this gym!" I told him, I do not have time for this, and proceeded to leave the gym and, he revoked my membership, which is no big deal, the place feels like a high school click. So, as I am leaving the gym, this guy is NOW BEING HELD BACK by two guys, claiming he'd beat me up, called me the word associated with female anatomy, and that he will be waiting for me when I go outside. Yes, it went that far and this guy is NOT a fighter. As I walked towards the exit, he attempted to flinch at me as if he were to hit me! Imagine that, a gym owner, verbally/physically threatening a paying customer because I didn't wipe a bag because no one wipes any equipment, the bench barbell area maybe, but that's it. As I left, I calmly reminded him he is not a real fighter, which he screamed, "But, I'd beat your you know what! Also, if you join, I assure you...members are not informed of any early closings, no postings, I drove to the gym several times, only to be met with closed doors and lastly, I'd say roughly, half my experience, the gym has a stench of marijuana .As a non smoker, I dealt with it, but not good for business along with threatening PAYING CUSTOMERS with physical threats. I wanted to ensure the review posted, and had to edit the profanity directed towards by the OWNER of the gym.

Such a disappointment this place brings a worst costumer service ever! Visiting town time to time referral by a fighter I felt comfortable and safe here and pay for personal training but then I realize they keep charging my card even when I’m not there. No one explain to me that I’m not paying for a session only. Anyway when my credit card company mentioned the constant charges I ask them to refund few months sense I’m not there not using the facility didn’t get any monthly receipts either their rude response was shocking. I’m sorry but it’s 2022 and we keep good costumers happy so they stay and come back with love and not hate. So said that people like this can stay in business with this attitude. Good luck everyone pay attention when you put your cards down anywhere. Thank you American Express to back me up 🙏🏻

I trained with David Garcia for about 3 months. He got me into the best shape I’ve been in since I was in my early- to mid-twenties. I lost over 20 pounds during that time period. He’s a great coach and super knowledgeable about boxing. I got to the point where I actually enjoyed working out because I was learning so much and seeing such good results. I highly recommend going to him and to this gym.

This place is a GEM ! Gritty and has ton of character due to the members. There isn't any place like this idk how to describe it. I joined NOBC back in 2017 and it changed my perspective on life. This place got me through some tough times. It'll always have a special place in my heart. Learned a lot about the sport of boxing just being around all the pros and the classes were always engaging ! Members were all friendly and the trainers are super helpful.

Great crew, great gym, perfect for travelling if you need to continue training like I do. $10 for a casual visit or $25 for the week. They stock wraps and tshirts too. Bags, weights, kettlebells, dumbells and cardio equipment upstairs.

This is best boxing club in the southeast region hands down. The community here is awesome with everyone reaching their person fitness and or boxing goals. Head Trainer Chase Dixon leads an intense training regiment for the pros. Rising stars 'Johnboy' Montrell, Ochi Kolev, and 'Silky' Hemphill are on their way to greatness training with Chase. Champions come through and out in hard work for their upcoming bouts such as Marcus McDaniel and Regis Prograis (when in town). Other local legends like Josh, Zereaux, and Tiffany all come through and train.
This boxing club also have an amateur team that is undeniable which also demands greatness with Jah, Jekobe, Jerome, and Leo. Then there's Coach Don's TeamGetChaRight boxing amateur & pro team being a big part of the community.
The classes are awesome.
So if you have the desire to get some personal training and or just want to workout on your own. Come down and see one of the awesome trainers and become part of a unique boxing community.

As a weaker person, this place has become my sanctuary for training my body and becoming a better version of myself. The ethos here is so uplifting that it makes me hard not to go at least once a week =)
Totally happy member.

I had never boxed before and was riddled with anxiety about joining a boxing club, but to my luck, I found a community that really takes respect and honor seriously. The men and women who come here are very grounded and eager to help others. That's why I think they deserve my good word here.

Difficulty in canceling membership. Never received a call back after calling 3 times and leaving voicemail. As long as you’re aware of their hidden cancellation form on their website, this probably won’t affect you.

The manager has no time for actually managing the club and dealing with any client interaction that isn't "peachy."
Apparently the owner expects certain people to speak to him as if we're children to an adult. To start, I have no need to speak rudely. I'm a professional in all areas of my life and unless you’re family, friend, or a child, I tend to speak directly. According to the owner I spoke to him with attitude when calling to clear up an issue on my account. My exact words were, "I need to speak to the manager or supervisor because I was overcharged." His immediate response was to tell me I had an attitude and that he was fully aware of my "situation." He chastised me saying my 1st payment did not process and this month I was charged for 2 months.
Then told me I should know better than to call with attitude.
(I went to the club as discussed below and notified him that he should have told me this ASAP so I could figure out if my card info was entered wrong or if I had not moved enough money into that account as I keep my money separated to prevent theft)
And telling someone clearly what the issue is does not equate "attitude." He then misquoted me and said, "You said 'I want my money back now."
No I did not say that. I said I was overcharged and needed to speak to a manger. Upon getting attitude from him, I later in the conversation said, "I need a refund because I will not go back to the gym at this point."
But no I did not start off this conversation rude or with "attitude." I called and spoke directly and any person who can't deal with a direct statement and reads into it is not someone I'd suggest any one work with.
When I asked what I was supposed to say exactly he said, "You could have called and politely asked to review your account and said "Excuse me something doesn't look right can we discuss it?" Um, no. I spoke directly and said the charge was higher than it should have been. I spoke directly and said I need to discuss this with a manager. I don't need to put flowers and decorate the response.
He said, " I don't need your BS here anyway."
So a direct critique of his FAILURE to communicate directly in the face of my choice to DIRECTLY COMMUNICATE, a thing MOST MEN appreciate in my experience, since all men I was raised around speak directly and appreciate that form of communication, but not this one.
But again, as he said, this is a "private club" so he gets to speak to people however he wishes and no one can tell him what to do.
Now my question is this: Let's say a man of 6'0 225 pounds approached him and said "I need to speak to a manager because I was overcharged this month." Would he have responded with the same condescending and EXAGGERATED response?
FOLLOW UP INFO: I went to the club to approach him in a manner that my father said you should always do when you have conflict. I explained calmly that if he had contacted me when the payment did not go through, I could have reviewed my card number to be sure I entered correctly or double checked my account to be sure I moved enough money over to it from my savings. However, he had not contacted me.
He then said, "But I did contact you." So I checked his story out. NO missed calls from him and there are no emails from him either and I looked back 2 months in my call log. So he made no attempt to contact me and then proceeded to respond to ONE SENTENCE from me as though I didn't offer him the proper flowery statement to speak.
I may be female, but I speak direct and have no need to say things like Oh my dear can we review this matter. I said what the issue was clearly and simply, THAT is not an attitude.
The trainers at this gym are great people, but this manager/owner of the club is not. I'm sure if you’re male he'll respect your presence and communication. I'm sure if you're female and never have an issue to address with him, he'll speak just fine to you. So if you want to spend money where your presence is respected, don't go here.

Chase, thank you so much for the warmest welcome and giving me a place to train while I was here during the hurricane. I love New Orleans and the culture has never changed, yet it still continues to surprise me from time to time. It was a real treat and a surprises to learn of this place and have the privilege to do some mitt work with you. Thank you for being a true representation of New Orleans hospitality--I look forward to more experiences at your gym. Thanks again, brother!

I've been around the fitness block for a while and by far this is THE BEST workout I've gifted myself in a long while. The instructors are extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, non- judgmental, approachable, and nice. No pretenses here, they know you've come to work on attaining your goals and they are totally team "you." I would recommend it to anyone.

Rude!!! I attempted to go in to get more information and sign up for boxing classes. I pulled up on the side of the building. I tried to enter but it was locked. I could see people working out. I asked a man who worked there if I could come in? He said "no you can go to the front" and walked away. That's not customer service. I left. I'm sure there are some other boxing gyms with more friendly employees. I don't pay money to get treated badly. Do better.
