People who attend the gym are friendly, but there is a girl who works the front desk with long reddish brown curly hair who will STARE at you and is super rude!!! So much for her working at a JUDGEMENT FREE place, and being in the front reception area at all times.. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve met other workers who are so sweet.

UPDATE as of 7/21/25 - you have a worker named Marquis who works non-stop every morning I am there and when he leaves the facility is the cleanest I have ever seen it. Additionally, he is very polite and a pleasure to speak with. He says he wants to stay busy and actually work while at work. This is not typical of you get generation and Ias a business owner myself, I can say without hesitation that he is the kind of person any business would want.

My pevious review - The Gonzales Plante Fitness has become much better. The facility is being kept cleaned regularly now, which includes the bathroom and equipment.

They billed me 4 months in a row after cancellation. I called each month and the only Answer they can give me is I need to call the billing department that planet fitness uses.
No solution to any billing problems at this location so figure it out yourself. Ended up having to go to my bank to block planet fitness from charging each month.
I don’t plan on getting reimbursed from them.

Cushion paddingon some equipment is torn and worn. On the Cable machines, some of the handles the knobs on the end are missing to prevent your hands from slipping off. Upon entering the building and all the bathrooms, has a scent of Urine. P.S; When you approach the manager, he gets defensive with an attitude that there’s nothing wrong with the equipment.

With the manager on hand does not want to hear your concerns. The previous manager did not have that attitude. The previous manager was cordial And respectful to your concerns.

Stand-Up tanning (Once per 24hours) and massage beds available with black card membership. Monthly charge plus annual fee and both rates are raised regularly. I go to Planet Fitness Gonzales weekday mornings for my cardio workout. It's always clean, and not crowded. I can always grab a stair climber, bike, elliptical or treadmill with no problem.

I'm in town visiting family and thought i would get my workout in. Everything was clean and ok, but the water fountain wasn't working, and when your not using your home gym, you can't just buy water with your card on file. When I visit back in October, this same thing happened. It's a pain when you don't know if you need to bring in your debit card or bring more water. Why would you only have 1 water fountain. I think you should add this info to the app, so when I'm checking to see how busy you are, I can see if I need to bring water...

I'm really disappointed. It appears they are having problems with the air. It's uncomfortable working out without air. Yesterday wasn't the first time experiencing this. The bathroom was nasty and dirty. I stopped coming for a couple of weeks due to this. I'm considering moving my membership to another gym.

This place kept charging my card for months after I “cancelled my membership” it wasn’t until about 6 months later after I moved to Alaska. I called to cancel and I was told I had to submit a written letter and turn it in, in person. It wasn’t until I went to the location in wasilla Alaska to be told by there employee that was bull. I called again and told them if they didn’t end my membership I’d be calling my lawyer. Needless to say I lost hundreds of dollars from the charging me after my first “cancellation” be careful.

If I could choose zero stars I would. This particular planet fitness is absolutely atrocious. The equipment is falling apart constantly, and when you go tell the teenage workers at the front desk about it they do absolutely nothing and the same nuts and bolts are falling out for weeks at a time on the same equipment. On top of that the drinking fountain water goes out for weeks at a time and management does nothing to fill the refrigerators that they have with any water. They have Powerade and or monster energy drinks that’s it. The bathrooms are constantly dirty, the same pieces of gum and trash stay in the urinals for weeks at a time . I have started go to a different planet fitness that is an extra 10 minute drive for me just to not to go to this one because of how bad the management obviously is and the lack of employees wanting to do anything at all. Other planet fitness’s I’ve never had any problems with and actually enjoy. This one in particular is a waste of building space.

I was always hesitant to join pf with the stigma surrounding the chain. But once golds closed I found myself trying out new gyms to my dissatisfaction they all had major flaws. I joined Pf and so far I've enjoyed it. I think if you keep to yourself and be respectful you won't have issues. There isn't free weight benches but plenty of Smith machines. The gym is large and very clean.

Cancelled the account for my teenage son by sending in a letter.

The GM claimed they received it 3 weeks after the actual day it was mailed, by that point "too late to cancel the annual fee." My landlord's check was sent the same day and the check was posted a full two weeks before it magically appeared for Planet Fitness.

In my three combines years of going to multiple different planet fitness’s, I have never once been told that I could not carry my small backpack around with me. Allow me to explain to you why my backpack is essential not only for my fitness journey but also for my health.

I have multiple different gym accessories needed for me to get the best workout that I can. I will not walk back and forth to the locker room everytime I need to switch something out.

I carry business cards in my backpack for the local GNC so when I meet people at the gym I can help better their fitness journey. I have been sending business to you from for nearly four years but best believe I will be turning all people away from this location from now on.

Most importantly I am a severe asthmatic that can have an attack at any given time. In my bag I keep medicines and inhalers in case I have a medical emergency. If I was to have something happen to me I would not be able to make it all the way to my locker or communicate to someone where my inhaler is.

This is extremely disappointing and disgusting from a business that prides themselves on having a healthy save environment for people of all types.

I went to this location on January 2nd to get some clarification on my bill due to the closing for renovation. The young lady at the desk couldn't help me...so I asked for a Manager. This Man (Matt) was so RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL and wouldn't listen to my concerns...he basically told me I was wasting his time. Needless to say I canceled my TEN YEAR membership because I felt very DISRESPECTED! I like the gym but the staff should do a better job dealing with customers concerns!

Planet Fitness in Gonzales just went through a renovation at the end of 2023 and I couldn’t be more pleased. The facility is super clean and uncluttered. The new use of space is a great improvement. The weekday morning staff is friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed and comfortable environment to reach their fitness goals. The amount of free weights available is limited so this is not the place for a powerlifter or serious bodybuilder, but that is not the clientele that the brand caters toward. Nonetheless it’s a great place for cardio, resistance training, and functional training for the general population regardless of age, race, orientation, or otherwise.

So disappointed with the supposed remodel.
Ladies locker room was hopefully NOT complete. No benches or seating of any sort...floor is your only resort if you need to sit.
Existing equipment merely moved around. Saw a new addition, but sadly had an out of order sign...not good. Smith machines that had bent pins...still have damaged parts. Still hazardous to use.
Can't believe that it took 9 to 10 weeks to not finish or repair everything. So much for that "ahhh" moment walking into what was supposed to be improved.

When they decided to renovate the facility, they sent an email to all members telling us if we had any questions we could call or email. I emailed six days ago stating I wanted a credit for the time they were closed or to cancel my account. No one responded. Then I called, and of course, it goes to voice-mail. They are essentially taking our money and not providing a service, and members have no means to handle account matters. Also, taking our money and telling us to go to other locations that are close to 20 minutes away is not satisfactory. I'm close to calling corporate at this point. We all deserve credits.

So after driving all the way from Dallas to cancel my membership. They are not even open due to construction. So I won’t be able to cancel my membership for another couple months. I have sent 3 letters to cancel. And 4 separate emails that one of the employees instructed me to do. This business is a scam and makes it impossible to cancel a membership. They are money hungry and all they care about is their money and making peoples lives hard to try to cancel. I have been lied to by these employees. First person I spoke to told me they could cancel my membership over the phone. First lie. Next person told me to send in an email and the manager would cancel. Second lie. Next person finally told me I had to send a letter. I sent the letter back in September. First email in September then every two weeks I’d send another. I just want to cancel my damn membership.

I canceled my membership when they charged me 53.00 when I canceled they told they would reimburse me my membership fee back and I now they are saying I had to cancel 10 days before my membership was renewed.
