All I can do is say what happened - you be the judge. Walked in for the first time to inquire about membership- Will not name but gentleman at the counter working kept his back to me, finally asked what do i want, when i was flabbergasted to how he was dealing with me he moved on to help a gentleman that walked up behind me so I left and came back the next day....met with manager..told him first time in not very pleasant but I had heard good things about there gym and trainer so wanted to try...explained to him what I was looking for and asked if they could be of service before I spent the money...he said yes...I arranged a time to come back and speak directly with the trainer to ensure she could also accommodate what I needed before spending the money and joining....she said she could help how I needed help...scheduled for 2 days the next week to meet her for 30 mins each day for the individual training to get me started as I have NEVER been to a gym, NEVER worked out, and NEVER used fitness equipment so I was very clear I needed help for the few first times I came and they agreed....First session went well it seemed....Second session came..I arrived 5 minutes early and texted trainer...her boss sent her to run errands so I got started on my 10 minute warm up which I was capable of doing at that point (treadmill). When that was done I was receiving texts from trainer she was still not there....and to do this machine (never used) and this machine( never used). I admittedly was a bit frustrated...did not understand machines...and left. Texted her this is not what we discussed, could she meet me at our next visit and just show me machines so I do not need her help. Did not hear back. Called 4 days later (day before due back to meet) and talked to manager - he said he would call me back...never heard back...she texted late that evening she would see me in morning. I show up in morning and she is obviously aggravated that I was not there to work out..that I wanted her to just show me the machines so I could come do my work outs after hours (because I had to take off work which is hard to meet the schedule she gave me and she already missed one) and she told me she cannot do that..she only has 30 minutes with me and is too busy. Wait. We discussed this. How long does it take to show me a few machines? Is that not your job? Did you not already schedule those 30 minutes with me? I went to manager and asked for a refund. Im very disappointed in everything that happened because I feel I did my due diligence of going up there 3 separate times and met with everyone involved to ensure they could help me BEFORE I spent money and committed. Great place and atmosphere if you know what you are doing. If you don't - do not believe what they say online about personal help.

Overall good but, two things to make the experience even better:

Water from the fountain is not as cold as other planet fitnesses I been to, definitely need to make it fridge cold.

Some smith machines safety hooks are coming off/not tight and can result in injury, especially the one on the left of the two in the front.

The attention to detail is commendable. The entire setting there always leaves me astonished, as it conveys a jovial and welcoming ambience that is hard to find elsewhere.

The cleanliness doesn't stop at the machinery, it extends to the floors, the counters-anywhere you set your gaze, it is spotless. It's clear that your team spares no effort to make the environment as hygienic and friendly as possible, constantly sweeping and scrubbing until they outshine even the sun! I've seen it firsthand, and it's incredibly comforting to know that such care is taken.

I joined Plant Fitness in Kenner recently and I'm so glad I did. They have a lot of different machines for upper and lower body strengthening. I have barely touched on all of the machines they have. It's a place I feel I can keep going to for a long time, increasing my reps and trying out machines I don't feel comfortable using right now. I'm in my 6th month post right hip replacement and my left knee is shot, so I have to take it easy right now, but I come home tired, sweaty and feel good and sleep like a dog at night! The only problem I have is that some of the machines, like the treadmill, are so high up of the ground, I run the risk of a fall if I try to get up on the machine. Also the bicycles are styled like a man's bike and you really have to swing your leg up high to get it across the middle part of the bike so you can get on. So other than those issues, I love the rest of the machines. The massage chairs are wonderful!

So I been going to this gym for some time now..and everything is great EXCEPT that PF is letting all these young boys and girls come here and hang out. It's a place of business at the end of the day. It wouldn't be a problem if they were actually working out. But they are not. Standing around the machine while another friend sits on it is not ok! A worker should be making rounds, making sure that people are not just holding up paying customers workouts. Not to mention as a mother it's concerning that you allow these 12/13 year old girls in here more then half naked running around, bending over in front of these grown men. So I have been at this gym since Feb 24. I'll break this into pros and cons. Pros: Staff are friendly. Machines are in good condition although some are showing wear in the seats with cracking. Just a few of the popular ones at least. Machines are spaced out well when it's not crowded. Locker room is kept clean and maintained. This includes the lockers themselves, they are clean. I assume that the woman's locker room is the same. The cleaning stations are kept full with the exception of when it's busy. Cons: this location gets loaded during peak hours. I've been there at different times per day and there seems to always have these gym bros bouncing all over the place. I cannot fault the business about this. They are of course welcome to be there as much as anyone else but the constant bouncing through machines, group handstand and pushup circles they do can visually be annoying. If I were a staffer, the only thing I would correct them in is not sitting on the racked dumbbells and stepping away from the rack when doing sets. Otherwise it's good to see people taking care of their health. There is a flickering light over the leg press machine that needs changing. On my most challenging sets, the light heightens my nausea. I keep my eyes closed during my rest. One last con, equipment is used and left everywhere. Weights are racked in the wrong location and benches are moved across the gym. Of course the best answer is patrons respecting the location but maybe more sweeps by staff could be a second option. In short, a good gym,maintained machines and free weights but too busy during peak hours and lack of gym etiquette from the local population. Will recommend so get out there and take care of your body, it's the only one you got!
