Very nice facility! Very spacious and happy to see a few new pieces of equipment like the hip thrust, arc trainers, and multiple dumbbell areas.

The spa area is very modern, with new water massage chairs and the hybrid tanning and red light features. The gym is not super busy, so it feels like you have the gym all to yourself. 😃

Let me first start by saying the gym is good. Now for the downside.

I personally will not go back to planet fitness.
The staff will trick you into getting the special having you think for the first month you already paid which is the price of the special. What they dont tell you is that that special price is only good for one or two weeks then you pay full price. Now this is not told to you at sign up. I found this out when I went in Thursday 23rd of October 2025. The night manger told me that I had a pass due balanced that was 5 days let. Now you would think that the General manager would have told me this ever i checked in the morning to work out. But no she didn't so not only was $ 47 taken out as well as a late free of $20. when they said the first was was $8.74. ( when I worked at youfit I let those who were a day let know about their pass due balanced). The staff they realy dont care as long as your payment is come out. I have witnessed multiple staff watch YouTube on the front desk computer. And if you have experience in this field and you see a job opening up . No mater if you asked the general manager about it she will tell you that there is not opening but a few weeks later will hire someone new. So yeah for both job wise and gym wise dont go find a better gym or go if your heath insurance pays for it.

Very clean facility. Started out at the Gretna club for years. When Marrero opened up, I transferred to Marrero. Very spacious, too spacious. Need more leg machines (press & extension, seated leg press), more ab machines. Plenty of room to expand with more equipment. The thing that bugs me most is when I'm waiting to use a piece of equipment and the person on it is sitting there talking or texting on their cell phone. I politely ask if they are done and they look at me like I'm trying to kick them out of the club. There should be no cell phones on the floor. Your club is small and other members could be waiting to use equipment that is occupied by cell phone users !!!

They turned us down after a month of going to the gym wearing crocs because we were not wearing tennis shoes. I’ve always worn crocs the past 20 times I’ve gone, I see other people in crocs all the time. My boyfriend just had toe surgery a few days ago and he also had to wear crocs because he cannot wear tennis shoes. We walked in and the lady at the desk started telling us that we can’t wear our crocs inside. This was obviously bogus and my boyfriend has a serious medical exemption. The manager came and said they needed a note from the doctor like he was in elementary school. This is such a violation and was so unprofessional.

Cell phone usage in the locker Rooms are ridiculous I agree with Brittney. They should be Certain times early in the day for the teenagers to play on the machines! 9 O’clock to 4 o’clock would be perfect

Been coming to this planet fitness ever since it opened up. Every time I’ve gone I have worn crocs. It’s never been an issue before. I was told today that I couldn’t wear crocs and had to wear regular tennis shoes. I completely get that. Went back home to change shoes then came back only for other people wearing crocs and even flip flops not to be told a single thing. Why waste my time if you’re not even going to properly enforce this policy? If this is something that’s actually being enforced make sure everyone is doing it and not just pick and choosing!

It's a very clean and well staffed gym. Everyone has been very nice. Definitely recommend 👌🏻I just have one problem. Recently they did a promotion for teenagers to be able to work out for free. That is fine and all, I understand what they're trying to do. Giving kid's something positive to do on their free time. But I don't think it's fair for the people who actually pay to go workout everyday. People work all day and only have a short period of time to exercise after work but now when they get to the gym it is packed with kid's which some are just playing around on the machine's. It's like you literally have to wait in a line just to use the machine you want. It's ridiculous. There were so many kid's in there yesterday that we had to just go straight to a treadmill because there were no available workout stations. I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to workout, I'm just saying that you guy's need to set a limit or a time that they're allowed to go everyday. Like maybe from 9:00am-4:00pm. That way by the time the gym members get off of work, the teenagers will be leaving. And everybody gets a chance to workout. I just do not think it's fair that the people who pay monthly for a membership should have to sit around and wait while the kid's that are there for free are playing around taking their good Ole time. That's just my thoughts on it. But other than that I usually love to go. Hopefully ya'll will consider a solution so everyone's happy. I'd hate for ya'll to lose all your members over something that can easily be fixed.

The only thing we appreciate about this gym is that its clean. This gym advertised a bunch of new equipment prior to opening (squat hack, supine bench press, etc) that was part of the PF new equipment matrix. They don't have any of that new equipment they advertised. The gym has 30 treadmills, its excessive and takes up about 1/3 of the footprint...but only one or two of very popular pieces of equipment like leg press or the stretching machine. We have the black card and have been to several PF locally and out of state, the equipment selection at the Marrero location is our least liked. The Gretna location has better equipment but they have a gym pest in the morning. So we plan on canceling our PF membership now that we know the advertised equipment isn't coming.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The lady at the front desk was rude and unprofessional. I also opened up one of the new vending machines they had and I was charged immediately for something I didn’t even touch or pick up. When I went to the front desk to ask if they could give me a refund, they told me that I would have to talk to the manager who wasn’t there. They also said that there would be no way for them to know if I picked up the item or not. I will not be back and I will warn anyone with a planet fitness membership to not go to this location.

The owner at the Marrero
location is very unprofessional. Went with my son which is 13 years old. Lady told me he wasn't 13, I told her he was she said no he isn't he needs to stay up front if I want to work out I can. I told her don't worry he won't be working out but he will remain by me. Where I could watch him. She told me no all this time very rude. I've been with planet fitness ((oiio(ll)for over a year now. I've seen young kids go into all the facilities. Now granted my son is 13 and listens to me very well. He wasn't acting up or running around or anything like that, we just walked in and checked in. So after she told me my son had to sit up front where the front door is and anyone could just take him. It doesn't matter if there are cameras, kids come up missing infront cameras everyday. Granted son is in town visiting me also cause he lives with his mom, this is our bonding time. And the owner wanted him to sit like he was punished all for going to gym with his dad. This lady sickens me to think I would let my son sit in front unattended. So I go yesterday and find out I'm banned now from her gym for trying to get her to understand that he would be with me and not touch her machines. This was very unprofessional for being the owner of a franchise. She kept telling me go to Gretna because that's where I signed up at. So she must not like you if you didn't sign up at her store. I'm a black card member so I should be treated equally no matter the gym I use. Once again unprofessional to keep telling me and my son go to Gretna. Planet fitness you can't just let anyone own a buisness and treat your customers this way.. I believe the ladys name is Stacy. All the lady had to do was tell me the age limit was 14 and let my son stay by my side. I didn't think it was appropriate for him to be punished just for coming to gym with his dad while visiting on Christmas holidays.

This new location is great and clean! Tons of space and it isn’t packed. Almost feels like my own personal gym. The new machines are great as well. The spa area is really nice too!

Nice and not as busy as the others. My only dislike is there seems to be not enough like wipes and trash cans to wipe down equipment… it is like in far distances. But other than that it is a new upgrade to the equipment and nice surrounds
