I have been a member of the Planet Fitness at Crowder Ave and I-10 in New Orleans since it opened. For the 3 years when the pandemic was out of control I did not use the facility but I continued my membership. The place has been generally clean and the staff responsive until recently. I complained to the new Manager on today about the cleaning stations being out of towels and the TV's on the same stations. This happened today, Thursday, 9/25/2025. There are 18 TV's at the facility, 2 sets of 9. On Wednesday, 9/24/25 three of the 9 TV's on each side were on the same Fox station. The situation was the same on today, Thursday when I talked with the Manager. I usually watch CNN or MSNBC while on the thread mill. I learned from the Manager that Planet Fitness does not show MSNBC because of the misinformation they share. I know I have seen MSNBC recently as I was on the cycle or thread mill. My feedback is that having 6 of the 18 TV channels on Fox or any one network is out of touch with the customers. I did not do a detail analysis but there were 2 NBC stations on each side. No national news channels. I think my request were reasonable. All I heard were excuses from the Manager that his bosses controlled what happened at that location. Sorry for the long note. I would like to continue using the facility but would like to feel like a valued customer.

The facility itself in New Orleans East is good and the staff friendly. But, I have been a loyal and paying customer. Not once has there been a problem with my payments. The one time my bank blocks a charge cause it may have been fraudulent Caleb the manager will not waive the late fee! It was a mistake! Is this how loyal customers get treated! I am disappointed and dissatisfied! There's an advertisement at the front desk mentioning waiving late fees! This is poor customer service!

This is not a gym. It’s a disaster.
I’ve been to plenty of Planet Fitness locations, and none come close to how wildly unsafe and inappropriate this New Orleans East location is.

It’s overrun with people filming what look like rap videos or acting like they’re some kind of social media gym influencers. There are tripods, ring lights, loud music, and if you happen to walk through their shot (in an actual gym mind you), they act like you’re the problem. Fights have almost broken out over this nonsense.

I’ve seen members bring women in to give them massages with baby oil on the gym benches. That’s not an exaggeration. There are also people openly engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior in the shared workout areas.

The gym equipment is treated like props for social media, not for fitness. You’ll wait forever for a bench because someone is oiling up for a photo shoot or dancing for TikTok. It’s disgusting and completely unmonitored.

Outside isn’t any better. Car break ins were a big thing a while ago. That alone should be a red flag. When your gym needs security, you know something is really wrong.

This location is the exact opposite of Planet Fitness’s mission. It’s chaotic, unsafe, and filled with people who have zero respect for the space or others trying to work out.

I’ve never felt more on alert in a gym.
Do not go here. Planet Fitness needs to either overhaul this location completely or shut it down. It’s a liability waiting to happen. Stick to Metairie, River Ridge, Kenner or Gretna. Those locations are night and day in comparison.

I like this gym but the rating for this is for the trainer. I called at 11:38am to see if the gym is open on Labor day and his smart remarks was "I see you don't come to the gym like you should and you need to come see me" first of all that's not how you talk to a customer, poor communication and customer service. Secondly he don't even know me to know if I been there lately or not. But, back to customer service part.. I didn't like how he answer me, totally unprofessional.

I just recently got a membership to this place and I absolutely love it. I’m a black Card member and it’s very much worth it. They have tanning beds. They have great equipment. The staff is very polite and helpful. They have massage tables and chairs. It’s just a very nice establishment.

I absolutely love everyone at the New Orleans East location! ! I've been all over to Africa, Chicago, DC, Houston etc! There is no Planet Fitness without the New Orleans East Planet Fitness! Please believe me when I tell you that I pass up 10 Planet Fitness, before coming from the Westbank where I live to get to my New Orleans east location! They are the reason I still have a membership!
Planet Fitness headquarters: Go to the New Orleans East location! Mimic what they are doing ! You will be happy, about the results!

I like this location the best ... cleaner (not that the other locations were dirty), my elliptical worked mechanically well, with only a few pauses during 60 minute workout, and showers were GREAT!

... showers were clean, had towel hooks 👍, recessed shampoo + area, and dual shower handle (to control cold/hot water temperature 👍👍

the PF members cleaned their equipment more than other PF location members too ...

I wish there was a way to give this place 0 stars. My wife and I travel back home to New Orleans often and unfortunately this gym is closest to us. The facility is decent but the workers are beyond horrible. To a visit…I have some issue with staff which is incredible. I would like to just check in and go. However, they are terrible. On 2 occasions I was denied access because they didn’t know how to use their computer systems. And don’t get me started on black card benefit use there…worst facilities I’ve ever seen.

I’ve been a member of this gym for years—one of the original members at this location—and it’s disappointing that the air conditioning issues still haven’t been resolved. Given how close it is to my home, I’d love to work out here, but the high temperatures make it nearly impossible and even unsafe at times.

After the recent storm, the gym temporarily closed for AC repairs, yet the problem persists. The ladies’ locker room has little to no airflow, and the back of the gym has absolutely no ventilation. Meanwhile, staff members are always friendly, but I can’t understand why they wear hoodies when it’s so warm inside.

This has been an ongoing issue for far too long, forcing me to travel nearly 10 miles to another gym just for a comfortable workout environment. I hope management takes action to resolve this soon.

Over the past months I have noticed that the air conditioning has been non-functional, creating an uncomfortable and inconvenient environment for all members, including myself.
As someone who frequents the gym several times a week, the lack of proper air conditioning has significantly impacted my workout experience. Now, that is completely out it is difficult to exercise effectively.The fact that I have to travel out of my area has deterred me from fully committing to my fitness routine.

Good experience for a first time at the New Orleasn East location. Except that the pressure in the showers was very low. Other than that, I love that it's readily accessible of the highway and the two ladies at the desk were very customer-friendly. Clean yet the music is way too loud to concentrate on your workout. The manager on duty made sure the workers were working by walking around ensuring it was clean as well. Only two of the hydromassage beds are working 5 & 8 and the 30 minute express workout red/green light was unplugged.

I’ve been coming here with a black membership for at least 5 years with my husband and this morning they decided my husband needs to fill out a guest invite. No problem you would think???? Well no because he didn’t bring his cell phone today I wasn’t able to send him a link. No problem you’d think right??? Well no!! They don’t have paperwork for him to fill out in the event you don’t have a cell. Well easy right let’s do it on your computer. Wrong! Can’t do that either. Let’s do it next time… nope they say for safety reasons they have to have a list of everyone in the gym. Their solution, we pay 10$ eventhough I have black membership. And then to put the cherry on it they no longer needed my husband’s information for SAFETY REASONS . What a joke! What we go through in the East! Customer Service is the heart of a business…
