The yoga instructor was good, but the studio is in a declining state both from a uncleanliness standpoint and disrepair. Do they ever clean or maintain the building? Strong stale sweat/foot odor in the stairwell leading to the studio and the studio floors were dirty, problems everywhere my eyes landed: broken door to exterior, water stains on ceiling from leaky roof, scuffed and worn floors, view to outside patio was forlorn - algae growing on the furniture…just unkempt and dirty everywhere I looked. Awful gym housekeeping!.

If you’re looking to get a good sweat in, in New Orleans, Romney is a GREAT place to go ! Particularly really enjoyed their heated classes, especially Sarah’s heat yoga sculpt class !! She’s the best ! - and their beginner Pilates classes are also a great stepping stone for anyone looking to get into the Pilates realm! 10/10 recommend.

Hilary is such a great instructor. Keeps the atmosphere upbeat. Provides instruction to modify movements to be easier or harder for students from beginners to advance. She keeps you on your toes! Studio is clean and staff is friendly.

Wow, wow, wow! I came to New Orleans for Mardi Gras festivities, but it was the classes at Romney that have me already thinking about a trip back to NOLA. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I had never taken a megareformer or bosu class before, so had no clue what I was doing. Each instructor made me feel right at home. I took 5 classes with 3 different instructors and each one was a challenging workout. I have never been to a fitness studio that offered such a variety of specialty classes under one roof/membership. I can't find anything like it in Chicago. I live too far away to have a gym membership here, but have already signed up for their virtual classes. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

I like the Megareformer classes at this studio but after going for a couple of months they have gotten very repetitive. Almost every class is escalator lunge, elevator lunge, inner thighs. Classes I've been to in other cities seem to do a much better job of mixing it up and using the machine and springs to provide different workouts (almost the whole class is done on one yellow spring here). For the price they should maybe train instructors to work on incorporating different moves to prevent repetitive use injuries.

Make sure you check which location you’re at. Their hot yoga is stunnnning. Felt so in tune with my body and unashamed about how much I was sweating. Great way to clear your mind

I highly recommend taking the Lagree Fitness Megaformer class. Even if you are a beginner the instructor will keep you on track. Just take the class.

Micah is an amazing instructor and is pretty much the only reason I would ever take a spin class. His amazing energy makes the class unbelievably fun, and even a little bearable!!!!!

I had an absolute blast at outdoor rave ride with Jon. If I could rank the class on its own- I would give it a 5/5. Class was so engaging and challenging, and the vibes were immaculate. It really was the closest that I’ve felt to being in a club in a long long time. The music choices were great! And Jon was super encouraging but also gave great form cues throughout. I wish he had taken a little more time with the newbies, but overall it was an amazing class. My only complaint was that class started a little late (but he noted he was holding for the sun to go down so we could have the full rave ride experience) but then he gave some people a little grief for leaving early (on time).
The Romney studios were pretty nice. They have a cute little shopping area and an adorable neon sign. They gave everyone shoes and towels for class. After checking in, my friend and I (who were both new to the studio) were not given any instructions on where to go. We were a little turned around, and didn’t know that bikes were assigned. We ultimately found ourselves at the wrong bikes, and a regular class taker graciously corrected us. Not a huge deal- but easily avoidable.
The studio cleanliness/upkeep was not as stellar as I might have hoped. The bikes are a little on the older side (totally makes sense as this is a multifunctional workout studio). My towel had some blood on it - and while it had clearly been washed, that was still kind of gross. I told the front desk associate and he threw it back in the wash hamper.
In terms of Covid protocol- the big win here was that the bikes were outside in an open air tent. That was awesome! And there was a surprisingly good breeze. The bikes however were not quite 6 feet apart, and no riders were wearing masks. So just be prepared for that when you come to class.
Overall it was a great class though- and I’d totally go back!

New to Romney and Pilates and could not have been more pleased to have been paired with Avery for private sessions. Avery is very professional and knowledgable, the sessions were thoughtful and challenging. She really did a great job of focusing on the areas I wanted to work - and I felt it! I can also say that her group class is equally as challenging and just SO satisfying to complete!!!

I was in New Orleans for my wedding and wanted to get a workout in while I was there. I took a megaformer class and had a great experience. The studio is very clean and cute, and everyone who works there was super friendly. The workout itself was challenging but doable (I take megaformer classes regularly). I will definitely return for a workout the next time I'm in town.

This has been my substitute workout spot when traveling to New Orleans. They offer a combination of group classes. I recommend taking one of the full body Pilate classes with Jon to sweat out that night before.
