I am no longer a member of this gym. The equipment is old and some of the cardio machines do not work. When I was there the A/C didn’t work and the attendant couldn’t give an estimate on when it would be fixed. She was also rude every time I came to the facility. The gym is huge and has alot to offer but things are old and broken, and to charge over $50 a month for a membership and things aren’t up to par is insane.✌🏽There are better gyms out there.

I am here to rave about the summer camp, but the gym itself is immaculate. Super clean, quality equipment and the friendliest of staff! The camp counselors were just as welcoming. My son immediately felt at home and truly felt that his coaches were friends. There is endless entertainment, no matter age or mood. I loved that Luca could start his early mornings snuggled up in a cozy bean bag for a little tv time before starting his big day. From there he could choose between an outdoor water play area, one of two pools (one just for the littles), arts and crafts or multiple stimulating building activities. He had weekly access to parkour, nerf wars, sports games, diy slime experiments, and so many more creative projects! In addition, they were accommodating beyond belief and even in Lu's less flattering of moments he was treating with so much grace and understanding. Thank you for giving me comfort in that my baby was not only well taken care of, but happy and engaged. He can't wait for next summer!

I LOVE this gym. Since new management and ownership have taken over, the care, attention to detail, cleanliness, insane additions and amenities, in addition to the quality of atmosphere and personnel, it feels like a new establishment with hints of the Foxy’s favorites found within.

The new Pickle Ball courts and track with shaded areas are awesome! The TWO brand new NERF ZONES and Parkour space makes me wish I was 12 again. The Cycling room has new lighting and sound.

We’ve held EOSchoolY parties and birthdays in the pool house and to say the outdoor space, with basketball and soccer courts, an entertainment stage area, hammocks, and two pools is not any kid’s dreamscape is an understatement.

The Kids Camps are well staffed with well trained, youthful energy that enjoy the kids as much as the kids enjoy them. The space is hard to leave as an adult!

The facility is still HUGE with so many machines you never have to wait for, you can get through an entire workout without pause.

10/10. Facility. Equipment, Staff. Kids amenities. Entertainment space. Communication. Cleanliness.

Love love LOVE this place! I'm a member here, taken classes here, my kid goes to camp here, he takes Parkour class here, and we love EVERYTHING about Beach Fitness! It is an older facility but it's always amazingly clean, well kept up, has all the pools and fitness equipment you could want...and it's HUGE! There's a ton of area to work out, or there's hammocks to lounge if you're feeling lazy...I've even plugged in my laptop and worked in the front lobby area while waiting for my kiddo to finish his class. 10/10 absolutely recommend anyone in BR to give Beach Fitness a try! There's something for everyone there.

I really liked this gym I started my fitness journey in this gym but I guess it’s times to part ways and find a new gym. I paid my normal monthly fee and got my access taken because of a “anual” fee even though my month wasn’t up yet. So I basically lost the remaining of my paid month and can’t access the gym. Makes absolutely no sense , anual payment should be applied when month renews not in the middle of the month that been paid for. So upsetting.

We love “ The Beach.”” My husband swims, works out, I do the treadmill and plan to swim. Deanna made us feel welcome and comfortable. The rest of the staff are all friendly. It is so clean and the building is beautifully redone.

Great gym in theory. Good facilities. Lots of resources. Love the saunas and hot tubs. My only issue currently is the smell. Not bad enough not to come, but a weird mix of rubber and urine. Again it's usually not super strong, but definitely off putting and I wish someone could determine the source of the smell and mitigate it. Whatever they do or don't, please don't mask it with some kind of fragrance. That's worse in my opinion.

Updates: when it rains a lot like today the streets flood. It does go down relatively quickly. But it would be possible to get stuck here for a while.

I think the smell is off gassing from rubber.

The childcare is prohibitively expensive. Not a family place, unless the family has lots of disposable income. I will not bring my kids here bc a babysitter is equal to or cheaper. Probably when the new Y is done I'll switch.

If I could give them TEN stars ⭐️ I would! The new owners have completely renovated every single detail of this facility. The moment I walked in, I was so impressed by the changes. I love how they have updated the interior of the gym and the swimming pools too. There is an indoor pool & hot tub and an outdoor pool & kiddie pool. A newly added safety fence around the larger pool helps keep the children safe while playing in the kiddie pool. The staff takes so much pride in keeping the water in the pools clean and adequately treated. Also, they have added a beautiful soccer field ⚽️ and basketball court! To top it off, they have a brand-new event room to host private parties!! It’s perfect for children’s parties, receptions, company events, etc.!! They even offer summer ☀️ & holiday camps for kids and a childcare room 🧸. It has a family-friendly atmosphere that makes it more than a typical gym. They have so many new fun workout 🏋️‍♂️ classes. The Beach Fitness Club has made so many improvements in recent months! The renovations of the pools and workout rooms are outstanding. The options for exercise rooms and machines is plentiful! Seriously, there is so much space here! So much space and so many options that I have not once had to wait to use a machine. I personally love the sauna and steam room in the women’s locker room, the co Ed jacuzzi by the indoor pool and the outdoor pool! The new owners clearly care about showing this place the love that it has deserved for decades. The staff is friendly and the rates are very affordable! Dirty, run down moldy. It's one Saving Grace is that it has very good instructors for work out classes. That is the only reason I stay put but I go in do my class and get out ASAP I am sure you can get Legionnaires disease from their air conditioning system and don't even think of touching the walls or bumping into the cracked mirrors on the walls! I tried out Foxy's with a three day pass and decided not to join mainly because the building and equipment are seriously outdated. I would have joined if the pool was deeper than 3' 6" as it doesn't help my kids to swim properly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the shallow pool and old building are a MAJOR turn off.

Very very dirty. The equipment is old. The pool area looks and smells terrible. There are leaks in the ceiling and there are ROACHES in what they call the "Pro Bar" area where they make shakes. Additionally, if you're brave enough to get a shake at that bar and it requires bananas, always ask to look at the banana BEFORE they put it in your shake. It'll be a pretty gross looking banana.

This is a large facility with basics plus a lap pool, outdoor pool, and racquetball courts. This is a good value but not a fancy see-and-be-seen hotspot. Lots of cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines. Nice folks to deal with. I've been a member for 8 weeks and have no complaints; the equipment is aging in some cases but that is not a personal concern.

I totally agree with one review that stated used to be a good club and their mgmt is lacking alot not to mention I have concluded ownership as well!
Some of the people they put in charge at club and who close the club are the rudest and most unprofessional people to be put in a membership based environment and not only that but I have expressed my discontent on their website and yet no one in mgmt or ownership reached out to me with regards to my complaint! That tells me they don't care... And the mentality trickles down into some of their employees... Clearly!

After my membership is up they will never get my hard earned dollars without some sort of explanation for their lack of membership appreciation and why their closing people can operate the way they do.. Mind you, I have been a member for yrs!

Then again, once you sign that contract with them they could care less what the member has to say!!!

Foxy's comes with all the commodities one would expect from a gym (treadmills, ellipticals, weight room, indoor swimming pool, etc.). Foxy's only offers a 12 month or 24 month membership (the 24 month membership being cheaper). I still chose the 12 month membership since I think I may be moving away towards the latter half of the year.

The good thing though is after six months, a member can transfer his/her membership to a friend/relative as long as the member shows proof of residence outside of the Baton Rouge area. The membership is a little pricey, at least in the BR area. For a 12 month membership, the initial enrollment fee is 75 dollars and the membership fee is 45 dollars per month. Foxy's also offers training classes, some are free while some others, such as the Kettlebell classes, require an additional fee. It was nice though to have a free month trial period with a personal trainer.

I love Foxy's. The staff is friendly and helpful. My kids love the nursery, playground, and pool. I love the training program; I'm involved in the semi private (which includes the group bootcamp style workout). I have seen amazing results. It helps me stay motivated and have fun. What happened to Foxy's? I know it has been in business for 50 years as the sales girl told me but WTH? There are businesses in town like my husbands family business, but they have kept it clean over the many years. All the equipment was broken and ancient at the gym. I would say the machines were 15 years +. I couldn't count all the out of order signs on the machines I saw all over the place, because there were so many. The floors were disgusting. I bet the carpet is 30 years old. The place even smells like old mold/mildew, and even the ceilings had black mold and many ceiling tiles were missing as well. It was pretty funny seeing all the buckets around holding all the rain coming through the roof that day. I bet there was 10 of those ugly buckets! I use to think this place had a great reputation in town.

Also want to include that the guy Ty who is the general manager there is disrespectful. He was to me and I heard him disrespecting the girls working behind the smoothie bar. I feel sorry for anyone who works for that loser or at that hell hole of a place!!! Save your time and NEVER GO THERE!!!!

Con's: As great as the pro's are, I will never recommend this gym after trying to cancel the membership. They outsource their billing, so literally the advice I got was "It's easier to keep the contract and pay the extra months, than try to go through the cancelation process." I thought they were half joking, but after being on the phone for the last 2 days trying to cancel, it really is near impossible. Hindsight I would have never bought a membership at Foxy's had I known the exit process would be so incredibly frustrating.
